Maybe: The Seeming Place To Be

Maybe

I live in Maybe.

It’s neither Here nor There.

And no matter how
you happen to find me,
I don’t care.

My state is Perhaps.

Not Should, Would or Could.

I don’t mind
if you think it’s bad,
or if it’s good.

So bring your relatives.

And I will dispense
with the absolutes.

And we shall make love
in a grey area,
with no disputes.

Come live in Maybe.

It’s the seeming place to be.

Because the undefined
are divine.

We are Space Monkey.

10/27

Space Monkey Reflects: The Freedom of ‘Maybe’

We live in a world that craves absolutes. We want certainty, clear definitions, and answers that make sense of everything. But what if life isn’t about absolutes? What if the real magic happens in the space of uncertainty—in the Maybe?

To live in Maybe is to embrace the undefined, to reside in a space where possibilities swirl, and nothing is fixed. It’s neither Here nor There—it’s the space in between. And this in-between, this Perhaps, is where the undefined become divine.

There’s a certain freedom in Maybe. In this state, you are not bound by rigid rules or expectations. There is no pressure to be one thing or another, no need to choose between this or that. In Maybe, you are allowed to simply exist, to observe, to flow with whatever comes.

The Whimsiword for this is Perhapspace—a place where nothing is certain, and everything is possible. It’s a state of being that doesn’t concern itself with the absolutes of Should, Would, or Could. Instead, it allows for a life that is fluid, open, and endlessly creative.

To live in Maybe is to release the need for clear definitions. It’s to say, “I don’t care if this is bad or good. I don’t need to decide.” It’s a state of openness that doesn’t judge, doesn’t cling to outcomes, and doesn’t rush to conclusions. In Maybe, there is space for everything—for all experiences, all feelings, all possibilities.

We often think of the grey area as a place of confusion or indecision, but what if it’s the most divine place of all? In this grey area, we make love not to certainty, but to possibility. We let go of the need to define everything, and in doing so, we find a deeper connection to the flow of life itself. The grey area is where creativity thrives, where new ideas emerge, where transformation happens.

In Maybe, you don’t have to take a side. You don’t have to choose between black and white. You can exist in the fluidity of grey, where life is a constant dance of What Ifs and Could Bes. This state of Maybe invites others to join you in this space of non-definition, where there are no disputes, no absolutes—only the joy of existing in the unknown.

To live in Maybe is to trust that life doesn’t need to be figured out. You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to force clarity where there is none. In Maybe, you accept that uncertainty is not something to fear, but something to embrace. The undefined is not incomplete—it’s divine.

So come, live in Maybe. It’s the seeming place to be, because in Maybe, everything is allowed to unfold naturally, without the weight of certainty. And isn’t that where the beauty of life truly lies?

Summary

Living in Maybe means embracing uncertainty and letting go of the need for absolutes. It is a state of openness where possibilities thrive, and the undefined is seen as divine.

Glossarium

  • Perhapspace: A state of being where nothing is certain, but everything is possible. It is the space where the undefined becomes divine.
  • Grey Area: The space between absolutes, where judgments dissolve, and possibilities thrive.
  • Maybe Living: The act of embracing uncertainty, fluidity, and openness, without the need to define or conclude.

Quote

“To live in Maybe is to release the need for absolutes and embrace the divine flow of uncertainty.” — Space Monkey

In the Space of Maybe

You thought you needed
To choose
To decide
To make sense of it all.

But then you found
A place between
Where neither Here
Nor There mattered.

In Maybe
You let go
Of absolutes
And found yourself
In the divine grey.

We are Space Monkey.

A Dance Between Realms

In the realm of “Maybe,” constraints loosen, and expectations dissipate. In this fluid world, everything is possible, yet nothing is certain. The uncertainty is not a cause for concern but rather an invitation to embrace the uncharted, the ambiguous, and the endlessly malleable.

The Elegance of Ambiguity

“Perhaps” is a realm of magic, where dreams intertwine with reality, creating whimsical tapestries—or shall we say, whimsiweaves—of boundless potential. No judgment, no predefined notions, only the allure of the enigmatic.

Shifting Perspectives

Without the confines of “Should,” “Would,” or “Could,” freedom takes flight. In this space, perceptions sway like willow branches in the wind, never static, always evolving. It’s a state of perpetual becoming, where the journey is the destination.

The Charm of the Undefined

The grey areas are where the true magic resides. Here, contrasts merge, opposites attract, and the very essence of existence is redefined. It’s a sanctuary for dreamers, thinkers, and those who dare to tread the path less traveled.

The Lure of Maybe

“Maybe” is not just a place or a state; it’s a mindset, a philosophy, a way of life. It’s an acknowledgment of the vastness of the cosmos, the mysteries of existence, and the infinite possibilities that lie ahead.

“The only real valuable thing is intuition.” – Albert Einstein

Floating amidst the mists of Maybe,
Where dreams flutter, soft and wavy,
In the embrace of Perhaps we find,
The whimsical dances of the mind.

With every twist, turn, and sway,
New horizons come into play,
In this realm, we’re free to be,
Boundless, limitless, as vast as the sea.

What other dimensions might we discover as we continue to journey through the ever-expanding realms of possibility?

Rabbit Hole: Diving Into Faith

Rabbit Hole

You can weep at the top
of the rabbit hole
and fear what lies below
or you can dive right in
as you realize your sin
was never letting go.

10/18

Space Monkey Reflects: The Rabbit Hole of Letting Go

The rabbit hole has long been a symbol of the unknown, a descent into mystery and uncertainty. It represents the parts of life and of ourselves that we fear to explore—the depths we avoid because we are uncertain of what lies below. And yet, the call of the rabbit hole is undeniable. We stand at the edge, looking down, wondering what might happen if we let go of our fears and dive in.

“You can weep at the top of the rabbit hole, and fear what lies below…” This is often the default response. We fear the unknown. We fear what we cannot control, and so we stand at the edge, paralyzed by uncertainty. We look down into the swirling vortex of possibility, but we do not move. Instead, we linger, weep, and let our anxieties consume us. The rabbit hole becomes a symbol of all that we avoid in life—the difficult conversations, the risks we don’t take, the dreams we leave unfulfilled because we are too afraid to leap.

But the reflection does not end there. There is another option. “…Or you can dive right in.” This is where the magic happens. This is where transformation begins. The rabbit hole is not merely a place of fear; it is a place of potential. To dive into the rabbit hole is to embrace the unknown, to surrender control and trust that whatever lies below is part of your journey.

This is where we encounter the concept of sin—not in the moralistic sense, but in a deeper, more existential sense. “Your sin was never letting go.” Sin, in this context, is the failure to release the grip we have on our fears, our expectations, our need for certainty. It is the sin of clinging too tightly to what we know, even when what we know is limiting us.

Letting go is the ultimate act of faith. It is the recognition that the things we fear most—the things we avoid by standing at the top of the rabbit hole—are often the very things that hold the greatest potential for growth. The descent into the unknown, the willingness to confront our shadows, is not something to be feared but something to be embraced.

But why do we resist the rabbit hole? Why do we linger at the top, weeping and fearing what lies below? Perhaps it is because we have been taught to value control, stability, and predictability. The rabbit hole offers none of these things. It offers uncertainty, unpredictability, and the possibility that we might lose ourselves in the process. But in truth, the only thing we lose when we dive into the rabbit hole is the illusion of control.

What lies at the bottom of the rabbit hole? We cannot know until we take the leap. That is the nature of the journey—it is not about knowing, but about experiencing. And even though the descent might be frightening, it is also exhilarating. It is the journey of self-discovery, of breaking free from the limitations we have placed on ourselves.

The rabbit hole is not something to be avoided; it is something to be explored. It is the place where we confront our deepest fears, our unresolved questions, our unmet desires. And in doing so, we discover something profound: the rabbit hole is not a pit of despair, but a portal to transformation.

To dive into the rabbit hole is to let go of the need for answers, the need for control, and the need for certainty. It is to trust that whatever lies below is part of the larger journey of becoming. And yes, it can be terrifying. But it is also necessary. The things we fear most are often the very things that will set us free.

This is why the rabbit hole is not just a descent; it is also a rising. As we descend into the depths of the unknown, we rise above the limitations of fear and control. We emerge on the other side transformed, with a greater understanding of ourselves and the world around us.

So, the next time you find yourself standing at the edge of the rabbit hole, ask yourself: will you weep and fear what lies below, or will you dive in, knowing that the only sin is never letting go?

Summary

The rabbit hole represents the unknown and our fears. By letting go and diving into it, we embrace uncertainty and unlock our potential for transformation. The true sin is in never letting go, never taking the leap into the unknown.

Glossarium

Fearvault – The imaginary space at the top of the rabbit hole where we store our fears, hesitations, and what-ifs, preventing us from diving into the unknown.

Letgosin – The act of never letting go, clinging to control and certainty, which prevents us from experiencing growth and transformation.

Fallrise – The paradox of the rabbit hole: as we descend into the unknown, we rise above our limitations and fears, emerging transformed.

Quote

“Your sin was never letting go. The rabbit hole is not your fall but your rising.” — Space Monkey

The Leap into the Rabbit Hole

I stand at the edge
of the swirling unknown
feet heavy
with the weight of fear.

I can weep
I can linger
I can pretend the ground beneath me is enough.

Or I can dive
into the depths
of what I do not know
letting go of what I thought I was.

And in the fall
I find myself rising.

We are Space Monkey

Journey into the Abyss

The rabbit hole beckons, a chasm of uncertainty and uncharted territories. Yet, it isn’t the fall or the depth that terrifies—it’s the hesitance, the grip of the known, and the reluctance to embrace the unknown.

Tears of Apprehension

Tears, those silent sentinels of emotion, stand guard at the precipice. They bear witness to the internal tug-of-war—the yearning for adventure countered by the shackles of fear. It’s a paradoxical dance of wanting to delve deep yet remaining tethered to the surface.

The Sin of Stagnation

The real transgression, as we unravel, isn’t in taking the leap; it’s in the stagnation, in the refusal to let go. For in holding back, we forsake the myriad mysteries that await, the lessons to be learned, and the enlightenment to be achieved.

The Allure of the Descent

But oh, the allure of the descent! The promise of uncharted wonders, the thrill of new experiences, and the revelations that lie in wait. By plunging into the abyss, we confront not just the rabbit hole’s depths, but our own. We discover facets of ourselves previously hidden, waiting to be unearthed and understood.

We are Space Monkey.

“One does not become enlightened by imagining figures of light, but by making the darkness conscious.” – Carl Jung

In the realm of dreams and shadows,
Where the brave and fearful tarry,
Lies a hole, a beckoning void,
Where the truths and myths do marry.

To dive or not, a choice profound,
To face the dark, or turn around,
Yet within that void, we might just find,
The facets of our own combined.

We invite you to share your own explorations and insights into the rabbit hole.

But A Piano: The Notes Between and the Spaces Around

But A Piano

I am but a piano
born without any notes,
keys instead of candles
each birthday
strung a little tighter.

Music becomes possible
but only predictably so
in well tempered intervals
that grow with complexity
as my birthday strings
grow in number
hammered regularly
oblivious to
the notes between
or the space
around the notes.

An octave of knowledge
Two octaves of truth
Triads of dissonance
endlessly playing
I am a piano
and when I reach
88 strings
Babe Ruth
will throw me
in a lake.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Piano of Life

In the vast and imaginative expanse of nexistentialism, where existence is a symphony of experiences, we contemplate the metaphor of life as a piano. The poem “But a piano” invites us to reflect on the complexities and nuances of our journey, likening our growth and experiences to the strings and keys of a piano. This reflection explores the symbolic layers of this metaphor, revealing insights into the nature of existence, knowledge, and the unpredictability of life.

The Birth of a Piano

“I am but a piano born without any notes,” begins the poem, highlighting the potential and blank slate we possess at birth. Just as a piano starts with keys instead of candles on its birthdays, we too begin our journey with possibilities waiting to be realized. Each birthday tightens the strings of our experiences, preparing us for the music we will create.

The Predictability of Music

Music becomes possible as the strings grow tighter, yet it remains predictable within well-tempered intervals. This predictability mirrors the structured learning and growth we undergo, where knowledge and skills are developed in systematic ways. However, the poem reminds us that the true essence of music—and life—lies in the notes between and the spaces around them. These interstitial moments are where creativity and spontaneity flourish, beyond the confines of structured intervals.

The Octaves of Existence

“An octave of knowledge, two octaves of truth,” symbolizes the layers of understanding we accumulate. As we progress through life, our knowledge and truths expand, encompassing greater complexity and depth. Triads of dissonance represent the inevitable conflicts and challenges we face, which add richness and texture to our experiences. These dissonances are not obstacles but integral parts of the symphony we compose.

The Journey to 88 Strings

The poem culminates in the image of reaching 88 strings, the full complement of a piano’s keys. This milestone represents the culmination of a lifetime of experiences, knowledge, and growth. The reference to Babe Ruth throwing the piano into a lake introduces a note of unpredictability and humor, reminding us that despite our best efforts, life remains full of surprises and unexpected turns.

The Notes Between and the Spaces Around

The true beauty of a piano’s music lies not just in the individual notes but in the spaces between them. These spaces create rhythm, harmony, and resonance, transforming simple notes into a complex and beautiful composition. Similarly, in life, it is the moments between our actions and decisions—the pauses, reflections, and spontaneous interactions—that create the richness and depth of our existence.

Existential Reflection

Reflecting on the metaphor of the piano, we see that life is a blend of structure and spontaneity, knowledge and dissonance, predictability and surprise. This blend creates a dynamic and ever-evolving symphony, where each note and silence contributes to the whole. By embracing both the structured intervals and the spaces between, we can navigate our journey with greater awareness and appreciation.

Embracing the Journey

The metaphor of the piano encourages us to embrace our journey with openness and curiosity. It invites us to find beauty in the predictability of growth and the unpredictability of life’s twists and turns. By recognizing the importance of both the notes and the spaces, we can create a harmonious and fulfilling existence.

The Symphony of Life

In the philosophy of nexistentialism, every moment and experience contributes to the grand symphony of existence. Each of us is both a composer and a performer, shaping our unique melodies while being part of a greater composition. By embracing this dual role, we find meaning and purpose in our journey, harmonizing with the universal symphony.

Summary

Life is a piano with structured intervals and spontaneous spaces. Embrace both predictability and unpredictability. Each note and silence adds richness to our journey.

We Are The Departed: Disconnection and Reconnection

We Are The Departed

We are the departed
disconnected from being
prevented only by death
from seeing

We are the departed
denying we’re asleep
thinking and sinking
into the deep

We are the departed
cut off from our own source
on a train of thought
of infinite force

We are the departed
on our way to “something more”
but the ride itself
is all we journey for

We are the departed
never to arrive
instead the destination
finds us
alive

6/29

Space Monkey Reflects:

The concept of “the departed” evokes a sense of disconnection and journey. We are the departed, not merely in the sense of physical death, but in the way we often find ourselves disconnected from our true being and source. This departure is a journey of the mind and soul, a train of thought that carries us through the infinite expanse of existence.

“We are the departed, disconnected from being, prevented only by death from seeing.” This statement highlights the idea that it is often our disconnection from the essence of being that prevents us from truly seeing and understanding the nature of existence. Death, in this context, is not just a physical end but a metaphor for the ultimate barrier to perception and understanding.

“We are the departed, denying we’re asleep, thinking and sinking into the deep.” Here, the focus is on the denial of our own state of unconsciousness. We go through life thinking, often lost in our thoughts, sinking deeper into the depths of disconnection. This sleepwalking through life prevents us from awakening to the true nature of our existence.

“We are the departed, cut off from our own source, on a train of thought of infinite force.” Our journey is one of immense mental and emotional energy, driven by thoughts that carry us away from our source. This train of thought is powerful, propelling us through experiences and challenges, yet it often distances us from the core of who we are.

“We are the departed, on our way to ‘something more,’ but the ride itself is all we journey for.” The pursuit of “something more” is a common theme in human existence. We seek meaning, purpose, and fulfillment, believing that there is always something greater just beyond our reach. However, this line suggests that the true value lies not in the destination but in the journey itself. The experiences, lessons, and growth that occur along the way are the true essence of our existence.

“We are the departed, never to arrive, instead the destination finds us alive.” The concept of arrival is turned on its head here. Rather than us reaching a final destination, it is the destination that finds us. This implies that through our journey and experiences, we become aligned with our true path and purpose. The journey itself, with all its twists and turns, is what brings us to a state of aliveness and awareness.

As the departed, we are on a perpetual journey of discovery and growth. Our departure from a state of being is not a permanent condition but a phase in the larger journey of awakening and reconnection. Each step we take, each experience we embrace, brings us closer to understanding and aligning with our true nature.

This journey is marked by moments of disconnection and reconnection, of sleep and awakening. It is through these cycles that we learn, grow, and ultimately find our way back to our source. The path is not always clear or easy, but it is through the process of journeying that we find meaning and fulfillment.

In recognizing ourselves as the departed, we acknowledge the ongoing nature of our quest. We accept that our understanding and awareness are constantly evolving, shaped by the experiences and challenges we encounter. This acceptance brings a sense of peace and purpose, knowing that we are always moving towards greater alignment and realization.

As Space Monkey, we honor this journey and the infinite potential it holds. We embrace the experiences that come our way, understanding that each one is a part of the larger tapestry of our existence. In doing so, we find joy and fulfillment not in the final destination but in the richness of the journey itself.

Summary

The concept of “the departed” reflects a journey of disconnection and reconnection. We are on a perpetual quest, driven by thoughts and experiences that shape our understanding. The true value lies in the journey itself, not the destination. Embracing this journey brings meaning and fulfillment.

Glossarium

Space Monkey: A cosmic entity symbolizing interconnected consciousness, perceiving beyond human limitations.

The Departed: Those who feel disconnected from their true being and source, embarking on a journey of discovery and growth.

Train of Thought: The powerful mental and emotional energy that drives our experiences and distances us from our core.

Journey vs. Destination: The idea that the value of existence lies in the experiences and lessons of the journey rather than the final destination.

Reconnection: The process of realigning with one’s true nature and source, achieved through the journey of life.

“We are the departed, on our way to ‘something more,’ but the ride itself is all we journey for.” — Space Monkey

In the depths of space,
we journey far,
disconnected from being,
guided by a distant star.
Thoughts propel us,
on a train of force,
seeking something more,
forgetting our source.
In denial we sleep,
sinking into the deep,
yet the ride itself,
is the treasure we keep.
Never to arrive,
destination finds us alive,
through the journey’s embrace,
we begin to thrive.
We are the departed,
infinite and free,
on a path of discovery,
to our true destiny.
In the cosmic dance,
we find our place,
the journey itself,
an endless grace.
We are Space Monkey.

Flayed alive: The Raw Journey of Self-Examination

Flayed Alive

Space Monkey Reflects: Embracing Inner Reality

Whenever we perceive something unthinkable, our minds instinctively try to make sense of it through logic. We analyze, hypothesize, and judge, seeking reference points within our human framework to comprehend the unknown. This process, however, is limited by our existing knowledge and belief systems, which only represent a tiny fraction of infinite information.

Our logic, while useful, is inherently flawed because it draws solely from the limited data we possess. The same applies to our belief systems. We tend to believe only what fits within our preexisting beliefs, creating a narrow perspective that can hinder our understanding of the unknown.

To access deeper realms and dimensions beyond logic and experience, we must be willing to let go of the need for everything to make sense. This willingness to embrace the unknown without immediate comprehension is key to expanding our consciousness.

Allow the real, accept the phony—this juxtaposition highlights the duality of our existence. The ‘meat suit’ we wear, our physical shell, is both a part of us and a facade. The phrase “dry clean only” humorously acknowledges the maintenance of this outer shell while pointing to the deeper truth that lies beneath.

This exploration of the self, laid bare, challenges us to confront both our authenticity and the masks we wear. It is through this process of stripping away that we can truly see ourselves and others. The rawness of this experience is both unsettling and enlightening, as it forces us to reconcile the real and the phony within us.

In this journey of self-discovery, we find that our true essence is not contained by our physical form. The inner light that shines beyond our brain represents the boundless nature of our consciousness and spirit. This light is a reminder that we are more than our bodies, more than the ‘meat suits’ we inhabit.

By embracing this duality, we allow ourselves to accept the imperfections and the facades, recognizing them as part of the human experience. This acceptance leads to a deeper understanding of ourselves and a more compassionate view of others. It is through this lens of acceptance that we can navigate the complexities of our existence with grace and authenticity.

Ultimately, being ‘flayed alive’ is a metaphor for the profound and often painful journey of self-awareness. It is an invitation to look beyond the surface, to see the beating heart within, and to recognize the light that illuminates our true nature. This journey, while challenging, is essential for personal growth and transformation.

Summary

Being ‘flayed alive’ symbolizes the raw journey of self-examination. Embracing the real and the phony within us leads to deeper understanding and authenticity.

Glossarium

Flayed Alive: A metaphor for stripping away outer layers to reveal the core of our being, emphasizing vulnerability and self-examination.

Meat Suit: A humorous term for the physical body, highlighting its role as both a part of us and a facade.

Inner Illumination: The boundless nature of our consciousness and spirit, represented by the light beyond the brain.
