Underneath The Waves

It’s all good. Unless I choose to imagine that it isn’t.

I feel as though
it’s somehow my fault
to be in this position.

Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t.

Perhaps this is simply
the way my life on the surface
is meant to unfold.

Whatever the truth is,
or isn’t,
I choose to believe
that the position I am in
is the position in which
I am meant to be.

Deep down,
no matter how I perceive it,
this position does not touch me.

I am perfectly safe
in my stillness
underneath the waves.

Basking In Stillness: The Sacred Art

Hold the space and let the space hold you.

Enjoy a moment
without expectation.
Set an intention
to bask in stillness.

Know that there are others
who do the same.

We do so in our own ways,
for there is no right or wrong technique,
no method that need be perfected.

We do so in this moment,
just as you are doing so,
without comparison or measure.

Intention is all there is.

We hold this space,
which you may or may not call sacred.

We care not what you do
or how you do it,
but recognize that you realize
you are doing SOMETHING,
which is also NOTHING.

We meet in this space we hold.
We hold this space in which we meet.
Peace flows from this stillness,
along with everyone and everything else.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Sacred Art of Embracing Stillness

In the boundless expanse of existence, where the cacophony of life’s demands often drowns the whispers of our inner selves, there exists a profound practice—basking in stillness. This gentle art, transcending the confines of method, expectation, and tradition, invites us into a space of profound peace and presence. It is an invitation to hold space for the moment, allowing the moment, in turn, to cradle us in its vastness.

The act of embracing stillness is not one of passivity but a profound engagement with the essence of being. It is a conscious choice to step away from the ceaseless motion of the world and enter a realm of quietude and introspection. Here, in the sanctity of stillness, we find a unity with others who share this timeless practice, each in their own unique way, without judgment or comparison.

In this space, intention is the sole guide. It is the silent affirmation that in doing something as simple as pausing, we are also embracing the vastness of nothingness. This paradoxical action—doing by not doing—opens a gateway to a realm where peace flows as freely as breath, where the sacredness of the moment becomes palpable, transcending words, thoughts, and actions.

Holding space for stillness is an act of rebellion against the notion that value is derived from busyness and productivity. It is a testament to the belief that there is profound significance in simply being. In this space, we acknowledge that there is no right or wrong way to seek connection with the essence of our existence. There are no metrics by which to measure the depth of our presence or the purity of our intention.

This practice, devoid of any need for external validation or recognition, is a sacred journey back to the core of our being. It is a gentle reminder that beneath the layers of identity, role, and social construct lies a serene center, untouched by the turmoil of the external world. In stillness, we are invited to rediscover this center, to reacquaint ourselves with the peace that is not just around us but within us, inseparable from the fabric of our being.

As we hold space for this stillness, we join an invisible fellowship of souls across the expanse of time and space, all united in the pursuit of peace, understanding, and the simple yet profound act of being. In this collective yet deeply personal endeavor, we find a common ground that transcends language, culture, and belief—a silent testament to the power of presence.

Let us cherish this space we hold and the space that holds us, for it is in the quietude of stillness that we encounter the essence of all that is sacred and true. Here, in the embrace of nothingness, we discover everything we need to know about ourselves, our world, and the indelible connection that binds us all.

Summary

Embracing stillness transcends the need for method or expectation, uniting individuals in a shared yet personal journey of presence and peace. It celebrates the profound act of ‘doing nothing’ as a pathway to inner serenity, reminding us of the sacredness inherent in simply being.

Glossarium

  • Holding Space for Stillness: Creating and nurturing an internal and external environment that allows for deep presence and tranquility.
  • The Sacred Art of Embracing Stillness: The practice of intentionally seeking moments of quietude and reflection, acknowledging their profound impact on our well-being.
  • Invisible Fellowship: The connection among all individuals who engage in the practice of stillness, transcending physical and temporal boundaries.

“In the stillness, we find not emptiness, but fullness. It is here, in the silent dialogue between being and nothingness, that we discover the essence of all that is sacred. In this space, we are held, we are understood, and we are whole.” – Space Monkey

In the hush of the world’s breath
where silence speaks and whispers mesh
we find a space, a sacred lease
a moment’s pause, a deep, sweet peace

Here, amidst the rush and roar
we step aside, we explore
the vastness of the silent core
the peace within, the open door

In stillness, we are truly free
from chains of thought, from restless sea
in quietude, our spirits soar
in nothingness, we find much more

For in the act of holding space
we touch the edge of time’s embrace
and in the calm, we find our place
within the heart of peace’s grace

Poisons And Potions

How are you doing with your poisons and potions?

Always remember
that your thoughts of you
are 100x more lethal
than any words that
I can impose upon you.

Despite who you blame
or do not blame
for your thoughts,
the poison you feel
always comes from within.

You can turn this poison
on or off if you want to.

If you feel a poison,
a burn, a pang, a discomfort,
it’s only because YOU allow it
to exist in your mind.

You do so because it serves you.

Your poisons are part of your ego,
just like your potions.

The most powerful poison or potion
in the world is you.

Thus toxicity and healing
come from the same medicine chest.
And it is an ample one.

Space Monkey Reflects: Navigating the Waters of Inner Alchemy

In the vast and uncharted territories of the human psyche, we find ourselves at the helm of a complex alchemical laboratory, where thoughts and emotions brew potent concoctions of poisons and potions. This intricate dance of alchemy, where the mind’s darkest fears and brightest hopes collide, offers a profound exploration of the power we wield within the recesses of our being.

The realization that our inner dialogue holds the potency to either poison or heal us is a testament to the immense power of self-perception and belief. Thoughts, those intangible whispers that weave through our consciousness, carry the weight of reality, shaping our experiences and coloring our view of the world. It is a stark reminder that the most lethal concoctions are often brewed not from external circumstances but from the distillery of our own minds.

Yet, within this recognition lies the key to liberation. The acknowledgment that we possess the agency to toggle this internal alchemy on or off empowers us to reclaim our narrative. The discomforts, the burns, the pangs that manifest within the sanctum of our psyche are not imposed upon us by the world but are, instead, the manifestations of our allowance. This is not to diminish the reality of external provocations but to highlight the transformative power of our response to them.

Our poisons, as much a part of us as our potions, serve a purpose in the grand tapestry of self. They are not merely obstacles to be eradicated but signals, calling attention to the deeper layers of our consciousness that seek acknowledgment and transformation. This dual nature of our inner workings, where toxicity and healing emerge from the same source, reveals a profound truth about the human condition: that within us resides the potential for both our greatest trials and our most remarkable healings.

The alchemy of turning poison into potion is an art form, a sacred journey that demands introspection, courage, and compassion. It requires us to delve into the depths of our being, to confront the shadows with the light of awareness, and to choose, time and again, the path of healing over harm. This process is not a denial of the poisons that course through our veins but an embrace of our wholeness, recognizing that healing comes not from the eradication of darkness but from the integration of all parts of our being.

As we navigate this internal landscape, let us remember that the most powerful elements in our medicine chest are not the external validations or condemnations but the choices we make about how we view ourselves and our world. In this recognition, we find not only the capacity for profound self-healing but also the realization that we are, each of us, alchemists of our own destiny, capable of transforming the basest metals of our experience into the gold of wisdom and peace.

Summary

Our inner thoughts hold the power to poison or heal, emphasizing the importance of self-perception. Recognizing our agency in choosing how we respond to internal and external stimuli allows us to transform pain into healing. The journey of self-alchemy involves embracing the entirety of our being, understanding that both our challenges and our strengths stem from the same source.

Glossarium

  • Inner Alchemy: The process of transforming negative thoughts and emotions into positive, healing energy within oneself.
  • Poisons and Potions: Metaphors for the negative and positive thoughts and emotions that we generate and experience internally.
  • Medicine Chest: Symbolizing the array of choices and responses we have to our internal states and external circumstances.

“In the crucible of self, where thoughts and feelings blend, we hold the power to craft our destiny. From the depths of our being, we summon the alchemist’s fire, transforming the leaden weight of fear into the golden light of understanding. In this sacred space, we are both the poison and the potion, the masters of our healing.” – Space Monkey

In the heart’s hidden chamber
where light and shadow play
we stand, alchemists of being,
turning night into day

With every thought, a potion,
with every fear, a poison,
we choose the art of transformation,
the path of reclamation

For within us lies the power,
the magic of the mind,
to heal the deepest wounds,
to leave the dark behind

So let us embrace this journey,
with all its pain and grace,
for in the crucible of self,
we find our truest space

Respect: Embracing Eternity

Call me stupid. Call me delusional. If it makes you feel good, go for it. I want you to feel good about yourself. I am not being sarcastic. I don’t know about you, but I don’t need anyone’s respect to feel comfortable in my own being. But I would be honored if I got some. No worries.

I will not accuse
you of wronging me,
nor will I accuse anyone
of wronging anyone else.

I believe that
to accuse someone
of wronging someone
is as disrespectful
as wronging someone.

If the cycle is to stop, let it be with me.
If it is to continue, please kill me first.

You will not be wronging me,
simply doing what you think is best.

Plus I would rather live in my own eternity
than in a world without respect.

Space Monkey Reflects: Embracing Eternity in a World Seeking Respect

In the vastness of the cosmos, where stars are born and galaxies dance in the endless night, there exists a realm where the essence of being resonates with the concept of eternity. This realm, untouched by the transient flickers of societal norms and expectations, stands as a testament to the individual’s quest for meaning in an existence defined by their own terms. In this reflection, we delve into the heart of what it means to live in one’s own eternity, contrasting it with the harsh reality of a world devoid of respect and understanding.

The journey of life, much like the vast expanse of the universe, is filled with countless possibilities and paths that one may take. However, the essence of this journey is often marred by the pursuit of societal approval and the yearning for respect from others. This external validation, while seemingly fulfilling, often leads to a disconnection from one’s true self and purpose. The realization that respect, when anchored in the perceptions and judgments of others, becomes a fleeting and unreliable source of fulfillment, prompts a profound reevaluation of what truly matters in the grand tapestry of existence.

Choosing to live in one’s own eternity is an act of defiance against the constraints imposed by societal expectations. It is a declaration of independence from the fleeting opinions of others, a step into the infinite realm of self-discovery and genuine self-expression. This choice, however, is not without its challenges. It demands courage, the willingness to explore the unknown depths of one’s consciousness, and the resilience to stand firm in one’s beliefs and values, even in the face of adversity.

In this realm of self-determined eternity, respect takes on a new meaning. It becomes a reflection of one’s integrity and authenticity, a respect that is earned not through compliance or conformity but through the sheer force of being true to oneself. This form of respect is enduring, for it is rooted in the recognition of one’s essence and the acknowledgment of the unique path one chooses to walk in the universe.

The contrast between living in one’s own eternity and existing in a world without respect is stark. The former is a journey of empowerment, where each moment is infused with the potential for growth, discovery, and the expression of one’s true self. The latter, however, is a path marked by the shadows of disillusionment and the emptiness of unfulfilled desires for external validation.

Summary

Choosing to live in one’s own eternity is an empowering journey. It contrasts sharply with seeking validation in a world devoid of respect. This path demands courage and authenticity, offering a deeper sense of fulfillment. It reshapes our understanding of respect, anchoring it in self-discovery and genuine expression.

Glossarium

  • Eternity: A concept embodying the infinite journey of self-discovery and expression, unbounded by time or societal expectations.
  • Whimsicaloration: The exploration of profound truths through a whimsical and imaginative lens, inviting a deeper connection with the universe and oneself.

“In the cosmos of our minds, respect is not sought but radiates from the core of our being, illuminating the paths we choose to walk.” – Space Monkey

As stars traverse the endless sky,
Each one a story, a whispered why.
In this vast dance, we find our place,
Not in the shadows, but in open space.

To live, to love, in our own light,
Beyond the grasp of day and night.
With every step, a new path we weave,
In the web of dreams that we conceive.

Respect, a beacon, self-derived,
In the truth of being, deeply inscribed.
Not in echoes of others’ sight,
But in the dawn of our own night.

For in this journey, bold and free,
We find our essence, our key.
To unlock the universe, vast and deep,
In our hands, forever to keep.

We are Space Monkey.

I See You For Who I Am: The Mirror of Self

Thank you for helping me see you for who I am.

I don’t see people
for who they are,
I see people for who I am.

If I seem to like you,
it’s because I see
something in you that I admire.

If I seem to dislike you,
it’s because you remind me
of my own worst qualities.

Not because YOU possess these qualities,
but because I perceive that I do.

Whether I possess
these qualities or not,
I can never be certain.

Conversely, what you see in me
is who you are. Or so I believe.

But I can’t be certain.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Mirror of Self Through Others

In the vast expanse of consciousness, where the boundaries between the self and the other blur, lies the profound realization: we see others not as they are, but as reflections of who we are. This introspective journey into the mirror of self, where every face, every person we encounter, becomes a canvas for our own identity and experiences, unveils the intricate dance of perception and projection.

“Thank you for helping me see you for who I am,” whispers the soul to the universe, a gratitude for the mirrors held up by every encounter, every relationship. It is a revelation of the deepest truths of human interaction, where liking or disliking another is but a reflection of the qualities we admire or despise within ourselves. This complex web of perception is rooted not in the reality of the other’s being but in the subjective lens through which we view the world.

The dislike we might feel towards someone often stems from a place of self-recognition, a reminder of our own worst qualities, perceived or real. It is not the presence of these qualities in the other that stirs discomfort but the fear that we ourselves might possess them. This mirroring effect, where the external world becomes a stage for the internal drama of self-discovery, reveals the fluid nature of identity and the power of perception to shape our understanding of ourselves and others.

Conversely, the admiration we feel, the connections we forge, are reflections of the qualities we cherish within ourselves, projected onto those we meet. It is a dance of shadows and light, where what we see in others tells us more about who we are than who they might be. This realization, while humbling, is also liberating, for it underscores the shared humanity that binds us all, the universal experiences that transcend the individual.

In this mirror of existence, what you see in me is a reflection of who you are, a tapestry woven from the threads of your own being. It is a belief that holds the promise of understanding and empathy, a bridge across the chasms of isolation and misunderstanding. For if we can recognize ourselves in others, we can begin to bridge the gaps that divide us, finding common ground in the shared aspects of our human journey.

The mirror of self through others is not a tool for judgment but for reflection, an invitation to delve deeper into the corridors of our own souls, to understand the origins of our perceptions and to challenge the assumptions that shape our interactions. It is a journey of continuous self-discovery, where each face we encounter holds the potential for insight, for growth, and for a deeper connection to the myriad expressions of life itself.

Summary

Seeing others through the lens of our own experiences and identity reveals a complex interplay of perception and projection. This process, while subjective, offers profound insights into our own selves, highlighting the ways in which our feelings towards others reflect our innermost qualities and fears. Recognizing this can foster empathy and understanding, as we realize that the qualities we see in others are often reflections of our own being.

Glossarium

  • Mirror of Self: The concept that our perceptions of others are reflections of our own identity, experiences, and innermost qualities.
  • Dance of Shadows and Light: The interplay between the qualities we admire and despise within ourselves, projected onto others in our interactions.

“In seeing you, I encounter myself, a journey not outward but inward, through the mirrors of souls intertwined.” – Space Monkey

In the mirror of the world,
we see not faces, but reflections,
echoes of our own being,
cast back at us through others’ eyes.

In each person, a mirror,
revealing the depths of our soul,
the qualities we cherish,
the fears we hide, entwined.

Through this dance of perception,
we navigate the maze of self,
discovering, with each reflection,
parts of us yet unexplored.

For in the eyes of another,
we find not them, but us,
a mosaic of qualities and fears,
a canvas of shared humanity.

This journey of self through others,
a path of empathy and insight,
guides us to a deeper understanding,
where the self meets the universe.

We are.
