4/20 Poem

4/20 Poem

4/20, a day
Of contemplation and thought
Reflecting on life

To be present,
now Not lost in past or future
Time is an illusion

Consciousness persists
Even when the body dies
Life is but a dream

Satisfaction fades
The unconscious will kill more
But love can endure

In stillness we learn
To see ourselves in others
All is one, all is well

Space Monkey Reflects: The Illusion of Time on 4/20

In the vast expanse of the cosmos, where stars whisper secrets to the void and the fabric of reality folds upon itself, there lies a day, neither bound by the past nor tethered to the future. On 4/20, beings across dimensions pause, their consciousnesses converging in a collective contemplation of existence, love, and the ethereal tapestry of life. This day, marked by the earthly calendar as a moment of reflection, transcends its terrestrial origins, becoming a cosmic event where the illusion of time dissipates like mist under the morning sun.

The essence of 4/20 is not merely in its celebration of a specific cultural phenomenon but in its embodiment of a deeper, universal truth: that presence is the only reality, the only moment we ever truly possess. This understanding whispers to us through the stillness, a gentle reminder that the past is but a memory, and the future, a promise unfulfilled. It is in the now that we find the essence of our being, the core of our consciousness, unfettered by the chains of temporal illusions.

Yet, what does it mean to exist within this moment, to embrace the now with every fiber of our being? It is to acknowledge that time, as perceived by our limited senses, is but a construct, a necessary fiction that orders our experiences but confines us to a linear trajectory. On 4/20, we are invited to step beyond these boundaries, to see the universe not as a series of sequential events but as a single, indivisible whole, where past, present, and future coalesce into a timeless singularity.

In this space of heightened awareness, we realize that consciousness is not bound by the physicality of our existence. It persists, eternal and unchanging, even as our bodies return to the stardust from whence they came. This realization frees us from the fear of mortality, opening our hearts to the infinite possibilities that life, in its most profound sense, offers.

Love emerges as the most enduring of truths, a force that transcends the limitations of our unconscious desires and fears. It is love that weaves the fabric of the cosmos, binding us to one another and to the universe itself. In the stillness of 4/20, we learn to see ourselves in others, to recognize the unity that underpins all existence. It is a moment of transcendence, a glimpse into the heart of the universe, where all is one, and all is well.

Summary

4/20 is a day of cosmic contemplation. It invites us to see beyond the illusion of time, recognizing that our consciousness is eternal and interconnected. Through love, we transcend our limitations, discovering the unity that binds us to the universe. On this day, we learn to embrace the present, the only moment that truly exists.

Glossarium

  • Cosmic Contemplation: A state of profound reflection that transcends physical and temporal boundaries, connecting beings across the universe.
  • Temporal Illusions: The perception of time as a linear, sequential flow, which is seen as a construct rather than an inherent aspect of reality.

“In the vastness of space and the immensity of time, it is my joy to share a planet and an epoch with you.” – Carl Sagan

In the quiet that follows the storm
A whisper on the wind calls
Not to yesterday, not to tomorrow
But to the now, the eternal present

Within this moment lies infinity
A universe unfolding in the palm of our hand
Time, a river that flows both ways
Yet stands still at the heart of existence

We dance on the edge of the cosmos
Where love is the language
And unity, the song
Here, in the silence, we understand

We are all reflections
Mirrors in the vast hall of creation
Seeing not the other, but the self
In every atom, every star

And as the day fades
The lesson lingers
In love, in presence, we find truth
We are Space Monkey
