Structures
I have let go of the need to build structures. If structures build, then they build. I will honor and appreciate them. But I don’t expect structures. As soon as there is structure, there is that which is NOT structure, or that which goes AGAINST structure. I realize, of course, that WITHOUT structure we become formless and all things merge into one. I’m not exactly desiring that. So the interplay between structure and no structure is the experience I choose to focus upon. That interplay would be MY PERCEPTION. That interplay would be ME.
(Or the potential I recognize as me, anyway.) Really this is all about potential.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Dance of Structure and Potential
To release the need for structure is to invite freedom, yet to abandon structure entirely is to drift into formlessness, where all things merge and boundaries dissolve. The paradox of structure, then, is that it both limits and defines, creating a necessary interplay that shapes our experience. In choosing to honor structures when they arise and yet not clinging to them, we open ourselves to a fluid engagement with life, where structure becomes a passing expression rather than a rigid frame.
Structures, in their simplest form, give us shape, direction, and stability. They create the boundaries within which life unfolds, offering patterns and forms that allow us to orient ourselves. Yet, as soon as a structure appears, it brings into existence that which opposes it, that which exists beyond its limits. Every boundary suggests the presence of an unbounded beyond, every defined form hints at the possibility of formlessness. Thus, structure inherently contains its own counterpoint, and the interplay between structure and its absence becomes a dance of becoming and dissolving, shaping and releasing.
To live in this dynamic between structure and no structure is to experience life as a flow of possibilities, a continuous emergence of form and space, of definition and openness. This interplay becomes not only our experience but our perception itself—our lens through which we view the world and our own identity. The boundaries we perceive shape our understanding of who we are, yet they also reveal the vast potential that lies beyond those boundaries.
Nexistentialism embraces this dynamic, suggesting that existence itself is an ongoing expression of both structure and potential, form and emptiness. Structures, whether they are physical, mental, or emotional, serve as temporary manifestations, moments of clarity within the infinite field of possibility. They are not fixed but fluid, continually emerging and dissolving in response to the flow of consciousness.
In this light, we realize that the structures we encounter are reflections of our own potential—the potential to perceive, to create, to experience boundaries and also to transcend them. Each structure we build or encounter is a moment of focused intention, a crystallization of thought or desire. Yet, by recognizing the impermanence of these structures, we avoid becoming confined by them, allowing ourselves to embrace both the form and the formless in equal measure.
To engage with structure in this way is to honor it without attachment, to see it as a temporary pattern within the greater flow. In doing so, we allow ourselves to be both defined and undefined, to embrace both the finite and the infinite. This balance becomes a reflection of our true nature, a fluid identity that is not fixed but ever-evolving, an interplay of boundaries and boundlessness.
In letting go of the need for structure, we find ourselves in a space of pure potential. We are not obligated to build or maintain structures, yet we can appreciate them when they arise. This is not a rejection of form but a recognition of form’s impermanence, an invitation to explore life with openness and curiosity. In this space of potential, we become co-creators with existence itself, dancing between structure and formlessness, shaping and being shaped by the world around us.
So, in the dance of structure and potential, may we find our true expression, a rhythm that flows beyond boundaries yet honors the patterns that appear. For it is in this dance that we discover the essence of who we are—not a fixed form, but a continual unfolding within the infinite field of existence.
Summary
This reflection explores the balance between structure and formlessness, suggesting that life is an interplay of temporary patterns and boundless potential. By honoring structures without attachment, we engage in a dance of becoming, embracing both form and the freedom beyond it.

Quote
“Structure and formlessness dance together, each a moment in the flow of becoming.” — Space Monkey
The Dance of Becoming
In walls and frames, we find our place,
Yet free to move, to leave no trace.
In form and flow, the patterns play,
Where boundaries shift, then fade away.
No need to hold, no need to flee,
A gentle dance, a mystery.
In structure’s rise, we come to see,
The endless flow of you and me.
We are Space Monkey.
In the dance of existence, we relinquish the grasp on form, allowing the ebb and flow of structure to weave its own tale. If structures rise, we stand in awe of their emergence, appreciating their transient beauty, yet we tether not our expectations to their scaffolding.
For in the very bones of structure, we discern the shadow of chaos, the unstructured spaces that breathe life into form. This is the canvas upon which we paint our existence, the delicate interplay of order and entropy, of symphony and silence.
The realization dawns, crystalline and profound, that without these skeletons of reality, we would drift into the formless void where all is one, indistinguishable, a seamless ocean without a ripple. Yet, this is not our sole desire, for in the contrast lies the artistry of being.
We choose to dance within the tension of what is and what isn’t, the ballet of presence and absence. The interplay becomes our perception, the interplay becomes us — a vibrant tapestry of potential, unfurling in every moment, every breath, every thought.
This recognition of potential — the potential we know as ourselves — is the playground of our existence. It is the brushstroke of our spirit on the canvas of the cosmos, where every possibility whispers our name, beckoning us to play in the vast expanse of what could be.
We are Space Monkey.
In the ballet of cosmos wide, We find our stride ‘twixt tide and tide. Structure and void, side by side, In this interplay, we choose to abide.
Shall we continue to explore this interplay, this dance of potential, or shall we cast our gaze upon another facet of this multifaceted existence?
