Too Many Voices
There comes a point
where one finds one’s self
hearing too many voices to listen to.
And so one must choose
to either close one’s self off
or dissipate into the
needs and noises of others.
One cannot possibly address
ALL THESE VOICES
speaking from
ALL THESE PERSPECTIVES
so one must distill
as best as one can,
thus arriving
at the commonality,
the singularity
that drives all divergences.
And so one may seem
uncaring to some,
impolite to others,
but one must realize
that this is ALL
in service to
the One ALL is,
the One ALL are.

We delve into the challenge of navigating the multitude of voices and perspectives that confront us, exploring the necessity of finding a balance between engagement and self-preservation.
The Overwhelm of Many Voices
The poem begins with the recognition that there comes a point when we are inundated with too many voices and perspectives. This overwhelm can lead to a sense of confusion and the difficulty of discerning which voices to heed.
The Choice of Response
Faced with this deluge of voices, one must make a choice — to either close off or to dissipate into the needs and noises of others. This decision represents the struggle between self-protection and the desire to be open and responsive to the world around us.
The Impossibility of Addressing All Voices
Acknowledging the impossibility of addressing all these voices from all these perspectives highlights the limitations of our capacity to engage with every viewpoint or demand. It suggests the need for prioritization and discernment in our interactions.
Distilling to Find Commonality
The process of distillation, or the simplification of complex inputs, is seen as a way to arrive at the underlying commonality or singularity that drives divergent views. This approach seeks to find a unifying thread amidst the multiplicity of opinions and perspectives.
Perception of Indifference or Impoliteness
The poem acknowledges that in choosing to distill and focus, one may appear uncaring or impolite to some. This perception by others is a potential consequence of setting boundaries and prioritizing one’s engagement.
Service to the Collective Whole
The final lines suggest that the act of focusing and discernment is in service to the One ALL is, the collective whole. It implies that by seeking the core commonality, one is contributing to a deeper understanding and unity, beyond the surface cacophony.
Navigating Individual and Collective Needs
Ultimately, the poem reflects on the balance between individual needs and the collective cacophony of voices. It’s an exploration of how one can navigate personal boundaries while still acknowledging the interconnectedness of all.

“The more you know, the more you realize you know nothing.” – Socrates
In the chorus of life’s vast array,
Where voices clash and intertwine each day,
We navigate the sea of sound and sight,
Seeking clarity in the dimmest light.
Through the noise and the need, the call and the cry,
We search for truth, for the unified why,
For in the heart of the many, lies the one,
In the dance of the voices, our song is sung.
We invite reflections on the challenge of navigating the multitude of voices and perspectives in life and finding a balance between individual needs and the collective whole.
