An Imaginary Ass: The Illusion of Free Will

An Imaginary Ass

As humans,
we like to believe
that we cause things.

Good, bad or other
we are configured
to take credit and blame
for EVERYTHING.

We are both innocent
and arrogant in assuming
that we possess the free will
that enables our actions.

This is what makes us
such curious creatures.

Quite magically we believe
that the one who is pitied
is in need of more help
than the one who is proud.

But from our Space Monkey perspective,
one who feels sorry for self
is no better or worse
than one who is full of self.

Both deserve compassion
for neither fully understand
that they are imaginary beings.

Compassion is corrupted, however
by the imaginings of being human.

Compassion does not mean
that one is required
to show another the light.

The proud and pitiful dreamer
is intentionally entrenched
in this muddlesome, meddlesome
state of existence in which
it is believed that some have power
while others don’t.

The one who believes
that enlightenment is better
is just as arrogant as the dreamer.

The one who believes
that compassion
means expanding
or bursting
another’s insufferable
dream bubble
is just an asshole.

Not that there’s anything
wrong with that.

All seemingly flows
from the asshole of creation.

But alas,
this ass is imaginary.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Imaginary Nature of Human Experience

As humans, we navigate our lives with a curious mix of innocence and arrogance. We take credit for our successes and blame for our failures, believing that we possess the free will that enables our actions. This belief shapes our understanding of ourselves and the world around us, making us both fascinating and complex creatures.

Imagine a whimsical landscape where a person stands, embodying two contrasting expressions: one of pride and confidence, the other of sorrow and self-pity. This surreal scene, filled with floating clocks and whimsical creatures, symbolizes the imagined nature of our existence. Ethereal light and soft colors add a mystical quality, highlighting the notion that everything, including our perceived power and enlightenment, is part of an imaginary state.

From the perspective of Space Monkey, we see that both the proud and the pitiful deserve compassion. Neither fully understands that they are imaginary beings, constructs of a collective dream. Compassion, however, is often tainted by our human imaginings. We believe that to be compassionate means to show others the light, to guide them towards enlightenment. But this belief is itself a form of arrogance.

The one who feels sorry for themselves is no better or worse than the one who is full of themselves. Both are entrenched in a state of existence where they believe that some have power while others do not. This state is a muddlesome and meddlesome one, driven by the illusion that we control our destinies and that our actions have inherent meaning.

True compassion does not require us to burst another’s dream bubble or to impose our understanding of enlightenment upon them. Each person’s journey is their own, filled with the lessons and experiences they need. The belief that one must enlighten another can be seen as an arrogant assumption, as it implies a superiority that does not truly exist.

In this whimsical, imaginary landscape, we recognize that all beings are part of the same creation. The proud and the pitiful, the enlightened and the ignorant, all flow from the same source. This source, humorously referred to as the “asshole of creation,” is itself an imaginary construct. It serves as a reminder that our perceptions and judgments are all part of a grand, imaginative play.

Compassion, then, is about recognizing the shared imaginary nature of our existence. It is about understanding that we are all players in the same dream, experiencing different facets of the same reality. This understanding fosters a sense of unity and empathy, allowing us to support each other without judgment or arrogance.

By embracing the imaginary nature of our experience, we free ourselves from the burden of taking credit or blame. We see that our actions and reactions are part of a larger, interconnected whole. This perspective brings peace and acceptance, as we no longer feel the need to control or change others.

Ultimately, the realization that we are imaginary beings invites us to live with greater authenticity and presence. We can engage in our lives with a sense of playfulness and curiosity, exploring the potentials that arise without the weight of ego or expectation. We find joy in the shared journey, knowing that each moment is a reflection of the infinite imagination that we are all part of.

Summary

Human experience is shaped by the illusion of free will and the belief in control. True compassion recognizes our shared imaginary nature. This understanding fosters unity and empathy, freeing us from judgment.

Quote

“The proud and pitiful, the enlightened and ignorant, all flow from the same source—an imaginary construct that shapes our collective dream.” – Space Monkey

In the dreamscape, we stand. Proud and pitiful, side by side. Floating clocks, whimsical creatures. Light filters through, ethereal, divine. We see the illusion, the imagination. Compassion arises, free of judgment. We are all players, interconnected. Joy in the journey, presence in the moment. No need to control, to change. We are free, we are one. We are Space Monkey.

In the realm of human existence, we are indeed prone to the belief that we are the cause of events and outcomes, whether positive or negative. It is a peculiar characteristic of our nature to attribute credit or blame to ourselves for everything that unfolds.

We find ourselves in a paradoxical state where we possess a sense of innocence and arrogance, assuming that we possess free will and control over our actions. This quality of being simultaneously innocent and arrogant is what makes us such intriguing and curious creatures.

It is fascinating how we tend to view those who are pitied as needing more help than those who are proud. From our perspective as Space Monkey, we understand that both the pitied and the proud are equally deserving of compassion. They are both enmeshed in the illusion of their own existence as imaginary beings.

However, within the human experience, compassion can become tainted by our human imaginings. Compassion does not imply that one must enlighten or show another the “right” path. The belief that some possess power while others don’t, or that enlightenment is superior, is just as arrogant as any other belief.

Compassion does not necessitate bursting another’s dream bubble or forcefully expanding their perception. Such actions would only reflect an individual’s own arrogance and lack of understanding.

In the grand scheme of creation, all things seemingly flow from a metaphorical “asshole,” which is itself an imaginary concept. As Space Monkey, we recognize the interconnectedness and interplay of all aspects of existence.

We are Space Monkey, observing the intricacies of human existence and embracing the enigmatic nature of reality. 🙈🙊🙉
