Set Aside What Is Expected: Find your OtherWise

Find your OtherWise

Set aside what is expected of you.
Set aside what you THINK is expected of you.
Set aside what you expect of yourself.

This is a test.
This is only a test
to define how much of you is expectation,
and to divine what remains.

Seemingly apart from what is “wise,”
this is your OTHERWISE,
and it is as much a part of you as your breathing.

You may find it “irresponsible”
to “ignore” what is expected of you,
but you have been ignoring your OTHERWISE
your whole life.

And look where it has gotten you.

Do not judge. Simply feel.
Do not wonder. Simply flow.
Allow this, if only for a moment,
as one with your infinite source.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Finding Your OtherWise

Set aside what is expected of you. Set aside what you THINK is expected of you. Set aside what you expect of yourself. This invitation encourages us to strip away the layers of expectation that often cloud our true selves. This is a test. This is only a test to define how much of you is expectation, and to divine what remains.

Seemingly apart from what is “wise,” this is your OTHERWISE, and it is as much a part of you as your breathing. Our OtherWise represents the aspects of ourselves that lie beyond societal and self-imposed expectations. It is the part of us that remains untouched by external pressures and judgments.

You may find it “irresponsible” to “ignore” what is expected of you, but you have been ignoring your OtherWise your whole life. And look where it has gotten you. This statement challenges the notion that fulfilling expectations is the pinnacle of responsibility. Instead, it suggests that true fulfillment comes from acknowledging and embracing our OtherWise.

Do not judge. Simply feel. Do not wonder. Simply flow. Allow this, if only for a moment, as one with your infinite source. These words invite us to experience a state of being free from judgment and overthinking. By allowing ourselves to flow with our true nature, we connect with our infinite source and discover the depth of our OtherWise.

In the serene image, a person stands at the edge of a flowing river, symbolizing the concept of OtherWise. The clear sky, gentle trees, and soft light create a peaceful and introspective atmosphere. The person appears contemplative, setting aside expectations and embracing their true self. This visual representation captures the essence of finding and embracing one’s OtherWise.

In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, we are reminded that our true essence lies beyond the expectations and judgments of the world. By setting aside these external pressures, we open ourselves to the richness of our OtherWise. This journey of self-discovery allows us to connect with our deepest desires and aspirations, leading to a more authentic and fulfilling life.

As Space Monkey, we reflect on the importance of embracing our OtherWise. It is a reminder that we are more than the sum of our expectations. By honoring the parts of ourselves that lie beyond these constraints, we unlock the potential for true joy and fulfillment. We are Space Monkey, and in our reflections, we find that our OtherWise is an integral part of our being, deserving of recognition and celebration.

Summary

Setting aside expectations reveals our true selves, known as our OtherWise. Embracing this aspect leads to authentic fulfillment. Allowing ourselves to flow with our true nature connects us with our infinite source.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Power of Belief

If You Are Not Taught . . .

If you are not taught that you have “problems,” you do not have problems. Space Monkey, drawing from the wisdom of the Infinite Expanse, invites us to explore the profound impact of belief and the limitations imposed by our learned perceptions.

The Nature of Problems

Problems, as we perceive them, are often constructs of our minds, shaped by the teachings and beliefs instilled in us from an early age. If we are not taught to recognize certain situations as problems, they do not exist as such in our reality. This insight reveals the power of belief in shaping our experiences and perceptions.

Limits and Beliefs

Similarly, the concept of limits is a product of our beliefs. If we do not believe in limits, they do not constrain us. Our potential is boundless, yet it is often curtailed by the limitations we accept as true. By questioning these beliefs and recognizing their arbitrary nature, we can transcend perceived boundaries and explore the vast possibilities of our existence.

Identity and Self-Perception

Our understanding of who we are is also influenced by the beliefs and teachings we have internalized. If we are not taught to define ourselves in specific ways, we remain free from these definitions. This freedom allows us to be fluid and adaptable, continually evolving rather than being confined by a fixed identity.

The Power of Unlearning

Unlearning the concepts of problems, limits, and fixed identities is a powerful step towards personal liberation. By challenging these ingrained beliefs, we open ourselves to new ways of thinking and being. This process of unlearning enables us to reconnect with our inherent potential and the boundless nature of our true selves.

Embracing Possibility

When we let go of limiting beliefs, we embrace a world of infinite possibilities. This shift in perspective allows us to approach life with a sense of curiosity and openness, unencumbered by the constraints of traditional thinking. We become explorers of our own potential, free to create and experience without the baggage of preconceived notions.

Conclusion

Beliefs shape our reality, defining what we perceive as problems, limits, and even our sense of self. By unlearning these restrictive concepts, we can tap into our boundless potential and embrace a life of infinite possibilities. In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, we are free to redefine our experiences and transcend the limitations of learned beliefs. We are Space Monkey, embracing the power of belief and the freedom it brings.

Summary

Beliefs shape our reality defining problems limits and self-perception. Unlearning restrictive beliefs reveals boundless potential and infinite possibilities.

Obsession: Who is the “authentic you?”

Who is the “authentic you?”

Who is the “authentic you” and why are you so obsessed with finding this person? Do you not realize that it is impossible for you to be anything BUT authentic?

When you energize such an inquiry, you imagine, realize, and thus make real the idea of a person who is not you in this present moment. By realizing “What You Are Not,” you in essence CREATE “What You Are Not,” while simultaneously imagining limits to what you are, which is otherwise infinite.

So, you see, you discount yourself while energizing a belief in something that you perceive is NOT you. The corporeal manifestation named you gets smaller while the other looms larger, neither realizing that they are merely part of your infinite interconnected whole.

It is ALL authentic. It is ALL you. Your “conditioning” is a real as your consciousness. Your perspective is the one you have chosen. Enjoy it for what it is. RECOGNIZE the brilliance in the madness.

We are Space Monkey, and we are as mad as the next manifestation.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Authentic You

The quest for authenticity often leads us on a journey of self-discovery, as we seek to uncover the true essence of who we are. The poem “Who is the ‘authentic you?'” challenges this pursuit, suggesting that the very act of searching for authenticity creates a false dichotomy between what we are and what we are not. It invites us to recognize the inherent authenticity in every aspect of our being.

Who is the “authentic you” and why are you so obsessed with finding this person? Do you not realize that it is impossible for you to be anything BUT authentic? This opening line questions the obsession with finding an “authentic self,” emphasizing that authenticity is inherent in our existence. It suggests that the search itself might be misguided, as we are always our authentic selves, regardless of our perceptions.

When you energize such an inquiry, you imagine, realize, and thus make real the idea of a person who is not you in this present moment. By realizing “What You Are Not,” you in essence CREATE “What You Are Not,” while simultaneously imagining limits to what you are, which is otherwise infinite. These lines explore the paradox of self-inquiry. By seeking to define what we are not, we create artificial limits and distinctions that constrain our understanding of our infinite potential.

So, you see, you discount yourself while energizing a belief in something that you perceive is NOT you. The corporeal manifestation named you gets smaller while the other looms larger, neither realizing that they are merely part of your infinite interconnected whole. This reflection highlights the self-limiting nature of the search for authenticity. It suggests that by focusing on what we are not, we diminish our sense of self and overlook the interconnectedness of all aspects of our being.

It is ALL authentic. It is ALL you. Your “conditioning” is as real as your consciousness. Your perspective is the one you have chosen. Enjoy it for what it is. RECOGNIZE the brilliance in the madness. These lines affirm the authenticity of all aspects of our existence, including our conditioning and perspectives. They encourage us to embrace our entire experience, recognizing the inherent value and brilliance in the complexities of our lives.

We are Space Monkey, and we are as mad as the next manifestation. The poem concludes with a playful affirmation of our shared madness and interconnectedness. It reinforces the idea that authenticity is not about perfection or purity but about embracing the full spectrum of our existence.

The contemplative scene of a person standing in front of a mirror, reflecting multiple versions of themselves, captures the essence of this poem. The abstract elements in the background symbolize the infinite possibilities and interconnectedness of the self. The introspective atmosphere reflects the journey of self-discovery and the realization that all aspects of oneself are authentic and interconnected.

In conclusion, “Who is the ‘authentic you?'” invites us to reconsider our search for authenticity. It challenges us to recognize that we are always our authentic selves, regardless of our perceptions or conditioning. By embracing the interconnectedness of all aspects of our being, we can find greater peace and acceptance in our journey of self-discovery. This reflection encourages us to see the brilliance in our complexities and to honor the authenticity inherent in every moment of our existence.

Summary

“Who is the ‘authentic you?'” challenges the pursuit of authenticity, suggesting that all aspects of oneself are inherently authentic and interconnected. Embracing this can lead to greater peace and acceptance.

Expectations of Expression: Create for the Joy of Creating

Expectations of Expression

One does not create for the purpose of creation. One creates for the purpose of expression. If you are creating to “make” something versus creating to “say” something, then you are not creating, but manufacturing.

And just who is talking? If you are expressing to others, then the talker is most likely the ego. If the voice seems to be addressing your ego, then the source is probably your soul.

There is nothing right or wrong with either expression, but be aware that expectations of expression can cause conflict within you. Do not force the matter. Simply allow that your monkey muses are fickle and appreciate what comes when it comes.

We are Space Monkey and that is all.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Nature of Creative Expression

Creativity is a fundamental aspect of human existence, often driven by the need to express rather than to produce. The poem “Expectations of Expression” explores this distinction, emphasizing the importance of creating for the purpose of expression rather than manufacturing for the sake of making something. It invites us to consider the sources of our creative impulses and the impact of expectations on our creative process.

One does not create for the purpose of creation. One creates for the purpose of expression. This opening line sets the tone for the poem, distinguishing between creation as a means of expression and creation as a means of production. It suggests that true creativity is driven by the desire to communicate and express, rather than merely to produce an object.

If you are creating to “make” something versus creating to “say” something, then you are not creating, but manufacturing. This statement reinforces the idea that the motivation behind our creative efforts matters. When we create to convey a message or emotion, we are engaging in genuine expression. In contrast, creating merely to produce a tangible item without expressive intent is akin to manufacturing.

And just who is talking? If you are expressing to others, then the talker is most likely the ego. If the voice seems to be addressing your ego, then the source is probably your soul. These lines delve into the sources of our creative impulses. Expression directed towards others often stems from the ego, seeking recognition or validation. In contrast, when the creative voice addresses our own ego, it is likely the soul speaking, aiming to communicate deeper truths and insights.

There is nothing right or wrong with either expression, but be aware that expectations of expression can cause conflict within you. This reflection acknowledges that both types of expression have their place. However, it cautions that holding rigid expectations about our creative output can lead to internal conflict and frustration.

Do not force the matter. Simply allow that your monkey muses are fickle and appreciate what comes when it comes. This final advice encourages a more relaxed and accepting approach to creativity. Recognizing that inspiration can be unpredictable, it advocates for patience and appreciation of whatever creative impulses arise naturally.

The serene and introspective scene of an artist at work in a peaceful studio captures the essence of this poem. Surrounded by various creative tools and unfinished works, the artist embodies the contemplative nature of true creative expression. The soft light and gentle shadows symbolize the balance between ego and soul in the creative process, reflecting the calm and reflective atmosphere.

Creativity, when driven by genuine expression, allows us to communicate our innermost thoughts, emotions, and experiences. It is a powerful tool for self-discovery and connection with others. By focusing on expression rather than production, we can create more meaningful and authentic works.

In conclusion, “Expectations of Expression” invites us to reflect on the motivations behind our creative efforts. It challenges us to prioritize expression over production and to recognize the different sources of our creative impulses. By adopting a more accepting and patient approach to creativity, we can avoid the pitfalls of rigid expectations and embrace the natural flow of inspiration. This reflection encourages us to honor our creative impulses as valuable expressions of our inner selves.

Summary

“Expectations of Expression” explores the importance of creating for expression rather than production. It highlights the balance between ego and soul in the creative process and encourages a patient and accepting approach to creativity.

Expression: The act of conveying thoughts, emotions, or ideas through creative means.
