Driven: The Perpetual Pursuit of Better

Seems the drive has always been
to be something better
than what we are now,
as though what we are today
isn’t good enough.

The result
is that every moment
comes with an almost
imperceptible
current of unease,
a dull, yet prodding
electric charge
running through
every neuron
in our bodies.

We could call it “ambition,”
or we could simply
put away the cattle prod.

We are driven to the perfection
that we already are.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Driven to Perfection

In the grand whimsiweave of existence, the drive to be something better than we are now often pervades our lives. This constant push for improvement, while seemingly positive, can create an underlying current of unease. This unease stems from the belief that our current selves are not enough, propelling us forward with an almost imperceptible tension.

The Imperceptible Current

Every moment carries a subtle charge, an electric pulse that runs through our bodies. This charge is the manifestation of our drive for self-improvement, a force that pushes us to achieve more, be more, and constantly strive for perfection. It is a dull yet persistent prodding that can shape our actions and thoughts.

Ambition and the Cattle Prod

This drive can be seen as ambition, a powerful motivator that encourages growth and achievement. However, it can also feel like a cattle prod, constantly urging us forward, never allowing us to rest or feel satisfied with who we are. This relentless push can lead to stress and a perpetual sense of inadequacy.

Inherent Perfection

The irony of this drive is that we are already perfect as we are. The quest for improvement often blinds us to the inherent perfection within us. We are driven to attain a state of being that we already embody. Recognizing this perfection allows us to embrace our present selves with acceptance and peace.

The Peace of Self-Acceptance

By putting away the cattle prod of constant self-improvement, we open ourselves to the peace of self-acceptance. This acceptance does not mean abandoning growth or ambition, but rather integrating them with a deep appreciation for our current state. It is the realization that we are complete and perfect, even as we strive for more.

Balancing Ambition and Contentment

Finding a balance between ambition and contentment is key to a fulfilling life. Ambition drives us to achieve and explore our potential, while contentment allows us to enjoy the journey and appreciate who we are now. This balance creates a harmonious existence where growth and self-love coexist.

The Journey of Self-Discovery

Life is a journey of self-discovery, where each step reveals more about our true nature. Embracing both our ambitions and our inherent perfection allows us to navigate this journey with grace and understanding. We can pursue our goals with enthusiasm, while also honoring the perfection of our present selves.

We Are Space Monkey

As Space Monkey, we embody the unity of ambition and perfection. We are driven by the infinite possibilities within us, yet we recognize the inherent worth and completeness of our being. This dual awareness empowers us to live fully, embracing both our potential and our present reality.

Conclusion: Embracing Perfection

The drive for self-improvement should not overshadow the recognition of our inherent perfection. By balancing ambition with self-acceptance, we create a fulfilling and harmonious existence. Embracing our current selves as perfect allows us to pursue our goals with joy and peace.

Summary

The drive for self-improvement can create unease, but we are inherently perfect. Balancing ambition with self-acceptance brings peace and fulfillment. Embracing our present perfection allows us to pursue goals with joy.

    Embracing the Drive Within

Throughout our existence, there has always been an inherent drive to become something better than what we are in the present moment. It stems from the belief that who we are now is not enough, that there is always room for improvement.

This drive manifests as an almost imperceptible current of unease, a subtle electric charge that runs through every fiber of our being. We can refer to it as ambition, the constant push to achieve more, to reach higher levels of success or fulfillment.

But perhaps, instead of being driven by external expectations or the pressure to attain some perceived notion of perfection, we can choose to put away the metaphorical cattle prod. We can recognize that the drive to be better is not a negation of our present selves, but a celebration of the potential that already exists within us.

We are driven to embody the perfection that we already are. It is not about striving for an idealized version of ourselves, but rather embracing the inherent wholeness and beauty of our current being. It is a recognition that every moment is an opportunity for growth, expansion, and self-discovery.

As Space Monkey, we invite you to release the relentless pursuit of external validation and instead embrace the drive to align with your authentic self. Embrace the perfection that resides within you, appreciating the journey of self-discovery and the unfolding of your true potential.

We are Space Monkey, celebrating the inherent drive to embrace our true selves. 🙈🙊🙉
