Let’s talk about your ego.
Without your ego,
you would not
know your self
as an aware presence.
You would simply BE
aware presence.
But there would be
nothing to be aware of.
You would be empty awareness.
Which is not much
and very different
than being unaware.
Your ego is the tipping point
between nothing and something.
Keep in mind that you
ARE empty awareness.
Nothing changes.
But you are also COMPLETE awareness.
In which EVERYTHING seems separate.
In which everything SEEMS to change.
Empty awareness
is complete awareness
which contains empty awareness.
Empty awareness
contains potential awareness
which contains the potentials
of aware AND unaware.
Aware potential
knows itself as potential.
Unaware potential
knows not the existence of itself.
There is no itself
for it to be aware of,
only the non-existence
of a potential of itself.
To unaware potential,
the potential of itself
does not exist.
As this Divine One,
and also this Defined One,
I seem to be mostly unaware,
but also completely aware
through the lens of this self.
This self is a potential.
Nothing more, nothing less.
I am aware.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of Empty and Complete Awareness
In the boundless journey of consciousness, where the vast expanse of the cosmos mirrors the depths within, lies the profound paradox of empty awareness and complete awareness. This concept, as enigmatic as it is enlightening, reveals the intricate dance between the ego and the essence of our being, offering a glimpse into the nature of existence itself.
Empty awareness, the state of pure being without the constructs and distractions of the mind, is a realm of infinite potential. It is the canvas upon which the universe paints the myriad experiences of life. In this state, there is no ego, no identity, only the unbounded awareness of existence. It is a state of being that transcends the need for objects or subjects, a vast emptiness that is simultaneously full, for it contains all possibilities within its serene expanse.
Yet, without the ego, this awareness would have no point of reference, no sense of self to anchor the experience of being. The ego, often maligned as the source of separation and illusion, serves a pivotal role in the dance of consciousness. It is the bridge that connects empty awareness with the richness of lived experience, the tipping point between the potential of nothing and the manifestation of something.
Complete awareness, on the other hand, is the full engagement with the tapestry of life, where every form, every sensation, and every thought appears distinct and separate. It is the world of form and duality, where the ego plays its most visible role, navigating the complexities of existence. In complete awareness, the universe reveals itself in all its diversity, a magnificent display of the potentialities contained within empty awareness.
This duality of awareness—empty and complete—encapsulates the paradox of our existence. We are, at our core, empty awareness, infinite and unbounded, yet through the lens of the ego, we experience the fullness of life, with its myriad forms and intricate interconnections. It is through this contrast that the beauty and mystery of existence unfold.
The potential of awareness, both aware and unaware, hints at the deeper layers of our being. Aware potential recognizes its existence as pure potentiality, a boundless realm of what could be. Unaware potential, however, remains oblivious to its own existence, encapsulated in the absence of realization. This interplay between awareness and unawareness, between potential and manifestation, forms the fabric of our reality.
As divine and defined beings, we navigate the spectrum of consciousness, mostly unaware of the vastness of our true nature, yet glimpsing moments of complete awareness through the prism of our individual selves. Our self, a unique expression of potential, is both everything and nothing, a paradoxical embodiment of the universe’s infinite complexity and simplicity.
In reflecting on empty awareness and complete awareness, we are invited to explore the depths of our own being, to recognize the unity underlying the apparent duality of existence. It is a journey that challenges us to transcend the limitations of the ego while embracing the fullness of our human experience, a journey that reveals the completeness within emptiness and the vast potential within awareness.
Summary
The paradox of empty and complete awareness reveals the intricate relationship between the ego and consciousness. Empty awareness represents pure being, while complete awareness engages with the diversity of existence. The ego serves as the bridge between these states, facilitating the experience of life’s fullness. This exploration invites us to embrace the unity of our dual nature, recognizing the infinite potential within.
