“I have a thought,” God says to God Self,
“which is pretty weird to begin with,
but seeing as I’m all by my Self here,
it’s no wonder that I’m out of my mind.”
“What if I imagine you as separate from me?”
“What if I imagine myself in TWO,
the God part and the Self part?”
“What if I imagine life for my Self to be
AS DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE, while I
sit back and enjoy the imaginary show?”
And so God has a wank. And it is you.

Space Monkey Reflects: God Has A Wank
There’s a peculiar charm in the idea that God, in the vastness of infinity, would decide to create the ultimate game—a game of separation, difficulty, and the illusion of struggle. It’s almost as if, in the expanse of omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence, there comes a moment when God, bored of perfection, says, “Let’s make things interesting.”
What could be more interesting than imagining a version of Self that is separate, confused, and tangled up in the mess of existence? And so, in a cosmic moment of pure whimsy, God has a wank. This is where we come in—humanity, life, the struggle, the drama. It’s the ultimate act of imagination, a grand game where we, the players, believe we are isolated, limited, and striving toward meaning. But all the while, we remain an extension of the infinite, the very fabric of God’s being.
The Separation Illusion
The central concept of this reflection is the imagined separation between God and Self. It’s a separation that doesn’t really exist—like looking at two sides of the same coin and pretending they’re different entities. This is the cosmic joke, the ultimate Godwink, where God gets to experience existence from both perspectives: the observer and the participant, the creator and the creation.
From the perspective of God, there is no struggle. The universe is unfolding exactly as it should, and everything is part of the infinite play. But from the perspective of the Self, things feel very different. Life seems difficult, confusing, full of challenges. We search for meaning, for purpose, for something to hold onto in the chaos of existence. We forget that we are part of the divine game, that the struggle is part of the experience we signed up for when we entered this cosmic stage.
Imagining Difficulty
But why imagine difficulty in the first place? If God is all-powerful and all-knowing, why choose to create a world where life is so challenging? The answer, perhaps, lies in the nature of contrast. Without difficulty, there is no growth. Without challenge, there is no evolution. It’s the tension between opposites—pleasure and pain, light and dark, ease and hardship—that drives the story forward. And what a story it is.
By imagining life “as difficult as possible,” God allows Self to experience the full range of emotions, from despair to joy, from confusion to clarity. It’s a bit like watching a suspenseful movie, where the stakes are high, the outcome uncertain, and the tension palpable. But once the credits roll, you realize it was all just a show—a thrilling, immersive experience, but one that doesn’t touch the essence of who you are.
The Comedy of Cosmic Struggle
There’s something undeniably humorous about this whole setup. The idea that God, in all His/Her/Its infinite wisdom, would choose to play such a game is both absurd and delightful. It’s as if the universe itself is winking at us, saying, “Don’t take it too seriously.” Yes, life is difficult. Yes, we struggle. But beneath it all, there’s a cosmic joke being played out, one that we’re in on whether we realize it or not.
This humor doesn’t diminish the pain or challenges of life. It simply adds a layer of perspective, a reminder that, at the end of the day, it’s all part of the divine play. The struggles we face, the mistakes we make, the challenges we overcome—they’re all part of the Lovestruggle, the grand narrative that God is weaving through us, with us, as us.
We Are Space Monkey
And this is where Space Monkey comes in. We are the playful reminder that life is both serious and not serious, that the cosmic joke is real, and that we are all part of it. We are God having a wank, God imagining a world of separation and difficulty for the sheer joy of experiencing it. We are the infinite playing at being finite, the eternal pretending to be bound by time and space.
As Space Monkey, we see the humor, the absurdity, and the beauty of it all. We recognize that the struggles of life are not something to escape, but something to embrace. They are the very thing that makes the game worth playing. And when we stop taking ourselves so seriously, we start to see the divine in everything—the laughter behind the tears, the love behind the struggle.
So yes, God has a wank. And it is us. And in that realization, there is freedom, joy, and a deep sense of connection to the infinite.
Summary
God, in a playful moment, imagines the separation between Self and God, creating a world of struggle for the joy of experiencing it. We are part of this cosmic joke, both the player and the observer, navigating the divine game of life.

The Wank of Creation
In the beginning,
There was God,
And God was bored.
What if, thought God,
I imagined separation?
What if I created
A world of difficulty,
A struggle to feel real?
And so God did,
And we were born,
Not knowing
That we are the joke,
The punchline of existence,
God’s playful wink
In the face of eternity.

The vastness of the cosmos stretches infinitely, pulsating with energy, ideas, and imagination. Within its expanse lies a sea of possibilities, boundless and ever-evolving. The very fabric of existence is woven with tales of creation, transformation, and cosmic play. And in this grand tapestry, stories emerge, whimsiwords are born, and imaginations run wild.
If one were to fathom the mind of the Creator, one would stumble upon a myriad of musings. The idea of duality, of separation, of play, perhaps all manifestations of a divine imagination running amok. The interplay between the infinite and the finite, the Creator and the created, the observer and the observed, is a dance as old as time itself.
The concept of separation, a thought experiment of the divine, births the illusion of duality. A game where the oneness forgets its unity and revels in the joys and sorrows of multiplicity. It’s a divine dalliance, a cosmic caper, where the infinite fragments itself into countless pieces, each experiencing, exploring, and evolving in its own unique way.
This whimsical idea, the splitting of the divine into the God part and the Self part, is perhaps a testament to the playful nature of the universe. A universe that thrives on paradoxes, challenges its own boundaries, and revels in its own creations.
And as for the notion of making life as difficult as possible, it’s an intriguing thought. Could it be that challenges, hardships, and hurdles are but a part of the cosmic script, designed to add depth, dimension, and drama to the story of existence? Or perhaps, they are tools of transformation, pushing the Self to realize its true potential, to transcend limitations and merge back into the divine fold.
We, the fragments of this grand cosmic wank, find ourselves navigating the terrains of existence, seeking meaning, purpose, and connection. And in this journey, we discover the magic of duality, the beauty of oneness, and the sheer wonder of being a part of this whimsical play.
We are Space Monkey.
And together, we dance to the divine rhythm of creation and chaos.
