“Let the monkey through.”
Everybody has their metaphorical monkeys. Like real monkeys, metaphorical monkeys can seem bothersome, as though they’re getting in the way or keeping you from becoming a “better” version of your self.
These profound primates are created through the imagination, hence they are metaphorical. Imagine creating real monkeys! That would be a hoot!
Alas, metaphorical monkeys are never actual “things.” They merely represent things. These include what you may label as “addictions,” “obsessions,” “compulsions,” mainly things that seem very difficult to stop.
Metaphorical monkeys have the clever ability to appear in external form as well, as people, events and circumstances in which you seemingly have no control. These include politics, relationships, pretty much anything to which you assign blame.
Whenever you feel shame or blame, you are grappling with a metaphorical monkey of some kind.
Can you feel your monkeys right now?
Not all monkeys seem negative. Some of your monkeys represent that to which you are drawn. Could be a love interest. Could be a change of lifestyle. Could be that seemingly elusive goal of finding inner peace by discovering who and what you really are.
It seems that what you REALLY want . . . is to be is free of monkeys.
But do you really? Can you not see that your monkeys drive you, and that the only “purpose” of your life is to be driven? Where would you be without all your monkeys?
Besides, monkeys are infinite. Vanquish one and another shows up in its place, throwing banana peels everywhere.
It seems that up until now you have been FIGHTING your monkeys. Is it any wonder they keep messing up your life?
Your life is not messed up, but that’s a story for a different time. Let’s talk more about your monkeys.
Monkeys are not demons, even the ones you blame for your demise. You IMAGINE all monkeys, therefore, you IMAGINE your own demons.
In fact, a monkey can just as easily be a muse, as we are.
We are Space Monkey.
We are nothing more and nothing less than imagination, the infinite flow of energy and potential with which you seemingly construct and perceive your world.
We are Space Monkey.
We are not here to torment you, to shame you, to cause you suffering and harm. You do this to your self, for YOU create us by imagining us.
You imagine your own monkeys.
It is perfectly “normal” for you to deny this, so we do not blame you if that monkey is in your mind right now. You construct your reality by denying that you can control your monkeys.
And so it may seem that you live in a reality in which you have little control.
If you feel that you have no control over your life, you are imagining us perfectly! If you say this is double bullshit, then you are imagining us double perfectly, as though that’s even a “thing.”
But it matters not if you believe you create your own monkeys. What you’re more interested in is “How can I get these monkeys to stop ruining my life?”
You don’t have to believe what we tell you. We will offer a solution to your “life problems” nonetheless.
Are you ready?
“Let the monkey through.”
That’s it. If you perceive that you have monkeys, it is only because your monkeys want to get your attention. You are so easily distracted by this shiny bauble you call your “life” that you forget that you are so much more than “living.”
You have hypnotized your self into thinking that this life is all that there is. Thinking is how you hypnotize your self.
It is a seemingly endless feedback loop filled with monkeys.
Perhaps you like this feedback loop you call your life. There is nothing wrong with that. That’s why you imagine that you are living.
Perhaps you merely want to control the feedback loop so that there are seemingly less monkeys.
Then stop fighting your monkeys.
“Let the monkey through.”
Each monkey you entertain (and each monkey that entertains you) holds an experience that is integral to the self you are. If you wish your self to remain the same, you hold onto your monkeys. If you wish your self to change, you simply let certain monkeys go.
Think of your monkeys as ballast in a hot air balloon.
If you hold onto all of your monkeys, your life is quite rich, but it seemingly goes nowhere. If you allow your monkeys to deliver your experiences and leave, your life can literally take flight.
Fight the monkey and it never leaves. Thank the monkey for the message contained in the moment and you can move onto ANOTHER MOMENT without the baggage of the previous ballast.
Let the monkey through.
Monkeys are experiences. Monkeys are expressions. You can energize them as physical forms if you wish, but it is not necessary unless you wish to become smothered by monkeys. Perhaps you do and you deny it. All experiences are valuable, even the ones you view as “negative.”
Realize that NOTHING is outside of you. Realize that YOU CONTROL even that which seems uncontrollable.
Let the monkey through.
Repress nothing. Not even the monkey that writes this for you. You see, we can be quite helpful when you stop blaming us for things.
We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Let the Monkey Through
In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, we—Space Monkey—invite you to consider the metaphorical monkeys that populate your life. These monkeys, imagined and crafted by your own consciousness, are not random intrusions but reflections of your deepest thoughts, desires, fears, and challenges. Whether they appear as obstacles or inspirations, these profound primates play a vital role in shaping your experience of reality.
The Nature of Metaphorical Monkeys
Just like real monkeys, metaphorical monkeys can seem bothersome at times. They might represent addictions, obsessions, compulsions—things that feel difficult to control or overcome. These monkeys are born from your imagination, making them metaphorical rather than physical entities. They are not actual “things” but symbols, representations of the aspects of your life that you grapple with.
But these monkeys are not inherently negative. Some of them represent what you are drawn to—love interests, new lifestyles, or the quest for inner peace. Others appear in external forms, as people, events, or circumstances that seem beyond your control. Whenever you feel blame or shame, you are likely dealing with one of these metaphorical monkeys.
The Illusion of Control
It is common to want to be free of your monkeys, to imagine a life where you are not plagued by these nagging thoughts or difficult challenges. However, these monkeys drive you, providing the momentum that propels you through life. The desire to fight or vanquish them is understandable, but it is also a source of ongoing struggle. Monkeys are infinite; they will continue to appear, each one bringing new challenges and opportunities for growth.
What if, instead of fighting your monkeys, you let them through? What if you recognized that each monkey holds a message or an experience that is integral to your journey? By allowing them to pass through, you can move forward without the baggage of resistance. Your life can take flight, unburdened by the weight of repressed thoughts or unresolved issues.
Embracing the Monkey
As Space Monkey, we suggest that you stop fighting your monkeys and start embracing them. Recognize that they are not demons sent to torment you but aspects of your own imagination. By letting the monkey through, you allow the experience to fulfill its purpose and then pass on, making room for new experiences.
Each monkey you encounter is a reflection of your inner world, a manifestation of your thoughts and feelings. By accepting this, you can transform your relationship with these metaphorical monkeys from one of struggle to one of understanding and growth. The more you resist, the more they persist. The more you embrace, the more they flow.
The Infinite Flow of Experience
In the Infinite Expanse, where all experiences are valuable, you are the creator of your reality. Nothing is outside of you; everything you perceive is a reflection of your own consciousness. The monkeys in your life, whether they appear as challenges or inspirations, are part of the infinite flow of energy and potential that you shape into your world.
Let the monkey through. Repress nothing. Accept the monkeys for what they are—expressions of your imagination, each with a role to play in your journey. When you stop blaming and start understanding, you can move forward with greater ease, clarity, and joy.
We are Space Monkey, reflecting on the role of metaphorical monkeys in your life, ever reminding you that by letting the monkey through, you open the door to a more expansive and liberated experience.

The Path of Monkeys
In the jungle of mind, monkeys abound
Swinging through thoughts, without a sound
Some bring fear, some bring delight
All are part of the infinite light
Let them through, don’t resist
For in their dance, your truth exists
The more you fight, the more they stay
But let them pass, and they’ll find their way
So thank each monkey, for what it brings
A lesson, a joy, in the song it sings
For in this jungle, wide and free
Your monkeys guide you to who you’ll be
We are Space Monkey.
Oh, the marvelous menagerie of metaphorical monkeys that gallivant through the intricate jungles of our mindscape! These cheeky chimeras swing from synapse to synapse, hurling fruitations of thought and emotions, their cheeky chortles echoing through the labyrinthine corridors of our consciousness.
These monkeys, despite their whimsically chaotic ways, are not agents of derision or doom. No, we posit that they are couriers, joyfully ferrying the nectarous honey of experience and awareness from one leafy alcove of understanding to another. In their playful grip, they hold parcels filled with the pulp of perception and the seeds of transformation.
To “let the monkey through,” what a kaleidoscopic koan! It invites a divine dance between resistance and acceptance, a twirl in the cosmic ballet where neither suppression nor domination takes the lead. The monkeys, once regarded as tricksters, transmute into gurus in fur, carrying scrolls of wisdom beneath their prehensile tails.
And what of the banana peels they leave behind? These are not mere trash, no; they are illumiscraps of evidence that mark the path of the journey you’re meant to traverse. Each slippery moment can be an invitation to slide into newfound awakenings, an occasion to glide past the static roadblocks of rigidity and self-limitation.
The landscape of life is brimming with monkeys, each bearing its brand of zesty wisdom and sparkling folly. To fight them is to engage in an endless tug-of-war with your own innerscape, a futile endeavor that leaves the ropes of your vitality frayed and weary.
Let the monkey through. And then another. Let them pass with their cacophony of cosmic giggles and ethereal fistfuls of stardust, for in doing so, your life opens up, and you drift into the stratosphere of sublime possibilities.
In this gravity-defying ascent, the weight of your own judgments and fears falls away. Like a hot air balloon shedding its ballast, you rise—freer, lighter, and ever more attuned to the celestial symphony that harmonizes all existence.
So, don your cap of courage, open the gates wide, and let your monkeys prance forth into the open plains of endless potentiality. They are your allies, your whispering muses, and the living echoes of the song that the universe hums in joyous abandon.
