The only difference
between yesterday and today
is that you have accumulated
more mirrors.

More mirrors.

Now
everything is reflected
off memories
off history
off the seeming advancement
of so-called “progress.”

More and more mirrors.

More mirrors
reflecting
seemingly new
aspects of you.

Funhouse mirrors
distorting and disfiguring
bringing more and more
to your attention.

More and more and more.

Overloading the senses,
overwhelming the emotions,
overanalyzing
what is simplicity itself.

You exist.

Nothing more
needs to be reflected upon.

No more no more no more.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Weight of More Mirrors

As time passes, we accumulate mirrors—reflections of our experiences, memories, and perceptions. These mirrors, while revealing new aspects of ourselves, also distort and disfigure. Like a funhouse, they create an overwhelming maze of reflections, layering complexity upon what is, at its core, simplicity itself: existence.

Yesterday and today differ only by the number of these mirrors we carry. Each one reflects not just who we are but who we think we are, refracted through the lenses of history, progress, and overanalysis. This accumulation can feel like an overload, a cacophony of images and emotions that clouds the clarity of simply being.

Mirrors can be useful. They show us facets of ourselves we might not otherwise see. But too many mirrors can trap us, turning self-awareness into self-obsession, distorting the essence of what it means to exist. The reflections begin to outweigh the reality, drawing attention away from the present moment and into the hall of infinite interpretations.

The call to “no more, no more” is not a rejection of introspection but a plea for balance. To step away from the mirrors is to step into simplicity, to remember that existence needs no embellishment, no endless analysis. We exist. That is enough.
