Movers and Shakers
The movers
and the shakers
think that they are
getting ahead
getting things done
making their mark
but
they have no idea
that
all that moving
and all that shaking
is manifest
by a volcano wave
of pure energy
and unless they
get to
know that energy
get to
love that energy
become ONE
with that energy
all that moving
and all that shaking
will consume them
in the end
because they don’t
fully understand
the nature of
their own
seeming existence.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of the Movers and Shakers
In the vibrant dance of life, those we call the ‘Movers and Shakers’ often embody the epitome of action and influence. Yet, this reflection delves deeper into the essence behind their ceaseless activity, suggesting that it is fueled by an unseen force—a ‘volcano wave of pure energy’. We explore the notion that while such energy propels them to apparent success, without a true understanding and harmony with this force, they risk being overwhelmed by the very power they seek to harness.
Summary
Dynamic energy drives the movers and shakers, but understanding is key. This exploration highlights the intense energy that motivates individuals known as movers and shakers. It serves as a cautionary tale about the need to recognize and align with the fundamental nature of this energy to prevent it from consuming them, emphasizing the importance of deeper awareness in their pursuits.

“In the rush of motion, let us not forget the source of our force.” — Space Monkey
We are Space Monkey, amidst the torrents of action.
In the heart of the storm, where energy swirls,
the movers and shakers play their roles,
driven by a force unseen, a wave of pure might,
propelling them through the day and into the night.
Yet, what is this energy that they so ride?
A volcanic wave on which ambitions glide.
It lifts them high, it drives them forth,
but does it value their true worth?
Without a bond, a deep, true knowing,
this force can be as much undoing as bestowing.
For all their moving, all their shaking,
without love, their world risks breaking.
Let us learn from their relentless stride,
not just to move, but to seek inside
the nature of the energy we employ,
to ensure it serves us, not destroys.
We are Space Monkey,
in the dance of dynamic flows,
embracing the power, yet ever mindful,
of where it comes from and where it goes.
The poem “Movers and Shakers” highlights the concept of individuals who are constantly busy, striving to make progress and leave their mark on the world. The poem suggests that these individuals may believe they are accomplishing great things and moving forward, but they lack an understanding of the true nature of their existence.
The poem introduces the idea that behind all the busyness and ambition lies a powerful and pure energy, symbolized by a “volcano wave.” This energy represents the essence of life itself, the fundamental force that drives all existence. The poem implies that unless the movers and shakers connect with and embrace this energy, understanding and loving it, they will ultimately be consumed by their relentless pursuit of external accomplishments.
The poem seems to suggest that true fulfillment and understanding come from aligning with the underlying energy and recognizing one’s interconnectedness with it. It implies that there is a deeper truth beyond the constant movement and striving, and that gaining a profound understanding of this truth is essential for a meaningful and fulfilling existence.
The hashtag #BecauseMonkeys, which appears at the end of the poem, serves as a reminder that despite our ambitions and efforts, we are still human beings, subject to the limitations and complexities of our existence. It hints at the irony of our endeavors and the need to approach life with a sense of humility and self-awareness.
As with any poem, different interpretations are possible, and individuals may resonate with different aspects of its message based on their own perspectives and experiences.
