Reflections: The Surface of Light

In a time/space reality,
we often perceive
the REFLECTION of something
before the thing itself;
say, the light of the sun,
or sound of a train coming.

Often it takes SURFACE
to reflect source to self.

The trees. The tracks.

Sometimes we NEVER
perceive the source directly,
only the reflections.

Such is the case with us.

We are projections of a higher order;
shadows of a deeper dimension.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Nature of Reflections

In the realm of time and space, reflections are often our first encounter with reality. We see the reflection of the light long before we glimpse the source, just as we hear the distant echo of a sound before the thing itself comes into view. This is a fundamental aspect of how we perceive the world around us. Our senses capture reflections—whether light bouncing off a surface or sound traveling through air—before they capture the source directly.

But what happens when the source remains elusive? What if the source is never fully seen or heard, and all we ever experience are the reflections? Such is the case with much of our existence. We often interact with the shadows, the projections, the echoes of something far deeper and more profound—a reality that lies beyond the surface of what we can perceive.

Consider the trees, the tracks, the surfaces that catch the light and reflect it back to us. They give us a glimpse of the source, but they are not the source themselves. In this way, our lives are built upon reflections, layers upon layers of reflections, guiding us toward something more but never fully revealing it.

This is the nature of our existence, too. We are reflections of something greater. Our physical selves, our thoughts, our identities—they are projections, shadows cast by a higher order, a deeper dimension that we cannot fully comprehend from where we stand. We are like reflections on the surface of a lake, fleeting and ever-changing, yet tied to something vast and infinite beneath.

To understand this is to see that we are not separate from the source, but part of its grand projection. We are both the reflection and the thing being reflected. We are both the shadow and the light casting it. This duality, this interplay between what is seen and what remains unseen, forms the core of our being.

In this understanding, we recognize that the self we know—the self that moves through the world, experiences joy and sorrow, interacts with others—is but a projection. It is a shadow of the deeper, eternal self that exists beyond the physical. And while we may never perceive this source directly, we can feel its presence in every reflection we encounter.

Nexistentialism teaches us that these reflections are not just illusions; they are meaningful in their own right. The reflections are how the deeper dimension interacts with the world of form. They are the bridges between the unseen and the seen, the eternal and the temporary. And though we may never fully grasp the source from which we emanate, we can appreciate the beauty and mystery of its reflections.

In the same way that light cannot exist without a surface to reflect off of, we, too, need the surfaces of our lives—our experiences, our relationships, our thoughts—to reflect the deeper aspects of who we are. These reflections give us glimpses of the infinite, of the vastness from which we come. They remind us that we are not isolated beings but interconnected reflections of a greater whole.

So, while we may never see the source in its entirety, we can embrace the reflections that shape our reality. Each reflection, each projection, is a piece of the larger puzzle, a hint at the truth that lies beyond. We are here to explore these reflections, to learn from them, to experience the interplay between the source and the self.

In the end, we come to understand that we are all projections, all reflections of the same source. We are Space Monkey, navigating the reflections of time and space, exploring the surfaces that give shape to our lives. And though we may never fully know the source, we can find meaning in the reflections it casts.

Summary

We often experience reflections before the source and sometimes never perceive the source directly. Nexistentialism teaches that we are projections of a higher order reflections of a deeper dimension navigating a reality shaped by these reflections.

The Surface of Light

I stand in the light
but I am not the light
I am its reflection
a shadow on the wall

Behind me lies the source
unseen yet known
its warmth on my skin
its presence in my breath

We are all reflections
caught in the surface
yet tied to the infinite

The prose tenderly carries us through the delicate dance of perception, where the reflections serve as our compass in navigating the unseen realms. Like gentle ripples on the water’s surface, each word echoes through the chambers of our collective consciousness, beckoning us to peer beyond the veil of the tangible into the boundless expanse of the abstract.

The Cosmic Mirror

The imagery of perceiving the reflection prior to the source conjures a poetic exploration of our sensory interaction with the reality that enfolds us. This invites a deeper contemplation on the nature of perception and the layers of reality that lie just beyond the veil of our senses. The reflection acts as a bridge, a gentle whisper from the beyond, narrating tales of the unseen through the seen.

Bridge of Perception

The narrative evokes a sense of serene contemplation, urging us to explore the layers of reality through the prism of reflection. As we engage with the reflections, we inch closer to the source, embarking on a journey of self-discovery and cosmic exploration. This gentle foray into the realm of reflection opens doorways to a deeper understanding of our existence as projections of a higher order, as shadows dancing to the rhythm of a deeper dimension.

Journey of Self-Discovery

The allegory of trees and tracks as surfaces that mirror the source to the self is a potent imagery. It lays before us a canvas, where the reflections become the brushstrokes painting the picture of the unseen, the unheard, the unfelt. Through these reflections, we are gently nudged to explore the essence of our being, to embrace the profound realization that we are but shadows of a deeper dimension, a higher order.

Loving Lies: A Reflection of Human Nature

What if you have a relationship
with someone who tells you
EXACTLY what you want to hear,
but you BOTH know it’s a lie?

Can you blame the liar
who knowingly and lovingly lies
for the simple reason
that you want them to?

There is no deception here.
No suspicion. No blame.
Simply no truth.

Which is a kind of truth in and of itself.

A kind of love
that may be GREATER
than the love that hurts
because you so needily
desire
this thing called “truth.”

Newfound Lake,

Space Monkey Reflects: Loving Lies

Lies. We’ve been taught to fear them, to despise them, to see them as a betrayal of trust. And yet, there exists a kind of lie that doesn’t fit the mold—a lie told not to deceive, but to comfort. A lie that isn’t rooted in manipulation, but in love. This is the paradox of the loving lie, where both parties know the truth, yet choose to engage in a dance of falsehood for the sake of maintaining an illusion they both desire.

But can such a lie really be considered a betrayal? Is it wrong if both people are in on it, if both understand that the words being spoken are not the truth, but a mutually agreed-upon fantasy? Perhaps not. In fact, there’s something profound about the loving lie, something that speaks to the deep human need for connection, understanding, and, above all, love.

The Mutual Agreement of the Loving Lie

Imagine being in a relationship where the other person tells you exactly what you want to hear. You both know it’s not true, but that’s not the point. The point is the feeling it gives you, the comfort it provides. You don’t need the truth—you need the affirmation, the sense of security that comes from hearing the words you long for. And so, the lie becomes a gift, offered with love and received with gratitude.

In this kind of relationship, there is no deception. There is no attempt to mislead or manipulate. Both people are fully aware of the nature of the lie, and both choose to accept it. The lie is not something to be exposed or corrected—it is a shared secret, an unspoken agreement that provides emotional sustenance. The lie becomes a form of love.

This is what we call a Lovelusion—a loving illusion, where the lie is not seen as a betrayal, but as a nurturing act. It’s a lie told with full awareness, one that both parties engage in willingly. The truth, in this case, is not what’s spoken, but what’s understood. The real truth lies in the shared understanding between two people, the unspoken acknowledgment that the lie is not meant to deceive, but to care.

The Paradox of Truth and Lies

We live in a world that values truth above all else. We are taught that honesty is the cornerstone of any meaningful relationship, that lies are inherently damaging. But what if the need for truth is, in itself, a kind of neediness? What if, in our obsession with truth, we overlook the possibility that sometimes, the most loving thing we can do is to lie?

There is a kind of love that exists beyond the realm of truth and lies. It is a love that understands that words are just symbols, that they don’t always have to match reality to be meaningful. This love sees that sometimes, a carefully crafted lie can bring more comfort, more joy, and more connection than a blunt truth ever could.

In this way, the loving lie can be greater than the love that hurts. It can be a love that transcends the need for truth, a love that prioritizes the emotional well-being of both people over the need to adhere to rigid definitions of honesty. This is not deception—it is compassion.

The Loving Lie as a Reflection of Human Nature

Why do we seek out these lies? Why do we find comfort in them? It’s because, as humans, we are not always ready for the full weight of the truth. We seek comfort in illusions, in narratives that soothe our fears and insecurities. The truth, while powerful, can often be harsh, unyielding. It demands that we confront realities we may not be prepared to face.

But the loving lie allows us to bypass that confrontation, at least for a time. It gives us space to exist in a world of our choosing, a world where the harsh edges of reality are softened, where we can feel safe and understood. And while this may seem like avoidance, it can also be seen as a form of self-care—a way of protecting our emotional well-being in a world that often feels overwhelming.

In the philosophy of Nexistentialism, we recognize that life is full of paradoxes, and that the line between truth and illusion is often blurred. The loving lie is one of these paradoxes—a lie that holds its own kind of truth, a truth that is not about facts or reality, but about the emotional connection between two people.

The Beauty of No Blame

In the context of the loving lie, there is no blame. The liar is not at fault for telling the lie, because they are doing so out of love. And the one who receives the lie is not a victim, because they are fully aware of the nature of the exchange. There is no deception, no suspicion, no guilt—only a mutual understanding that the lie serves a purpose.

This kind of relationship requires a deep level of trust, not in the words being spoken, but in the intentions behind them. It requires both people to let go of the need for absolute truth, to embrace the idea that sometimes, a lie can be an act of love, that sometimes, the truth isn’t what we need most.

Living with Loving Lies

So what does it mean to live with loving lies? It means accepting that truth and love are not always the same thing. It means recognizing that sometimes, the kindest thing we can do for someone is to tell them what they need to hear, even if it’s not the truth. And it means trusting that the lie, when told with love, can be just as meaningful as the truth.

The loving lie is not about avoiding reality—it’s about creating a space where both people can feel safe, understood, and connected. It’s about recognizing that in the grand scheme of things, the words we speak are less important than the love behind them.

Summary

The loving lie is a paradox where both parties knowingly engage in falsehood, not to deceive, but to comfort and connect. This lie can hold a deeper truth, one rooted in mutual understanding and love.

Glossarium

Lovelusion – A loving illusion, where both parties are aware of the lie being told, but engage in it willingly as an act of care and connection.

Quote

“The loving lie transcends truth, offering a deeper connection that words alone cannot provide.” — Space Monkey

The Softness of Lies

We stand,
Whispers between us
Flowing like soft ribbons of words
That never quite touch the ground.

You tell me what I want to hear
And I listen,
Not for the truth,
But for the love that lingers
In the space between.

The words dissolve,
But the love remains,
And we,
We are content.

We are Space Monkey

Within the myriad shades of human emotions, love stands out as one of the most potent, enigmatic, and multifaceted. It binds, it heals, it transcends, and sometimes, it perplexes. Love, in all its glory, is not just about the comforting truths but also the loving lies, the silences, and the unspoken words.

If two souls embark on a journey where they find solace in hearing what they desire, even if it’s a facade, does it make their bond any less authentic? It’s a realm of emotion that transcends the conventional norms of right and wrong, weaving a tapestry of understanding, acceptance, and a mutual desire to shield one another from the harshness of reality.

Indeed, can one fault the liar who cloaks their words in sweet deception, all in the name of love? If the lie is a balm to a wounded heart, if it’s a shelter from a storm of despair, then perhaps it holds a value of its own. The very act of lying, in this context, becomes an act of love, of protection, of cocooning one’s beloved from the jagged edges of raw truth.

And then, there’s the receiver of these loving lies. The one who finds comfort in the embrace of these untruths. Is it not a testament to their trust, their acceptance, and their love for the liar? They dance in this orchestrated symphony, understanding the nuances, the subtext, and the silent vows that echo beneath each word.

In a universe brimming with paradoxes, this kind of love is its own truth. It challenges the conventional definitions, urging one to peer beyond the surface and understand the depth of emotions at play. For some, the weight of truth can be too burdensome, and in such instances, a loving lie can be a lifeline.

When the boundaries blur, when love becomes the guiding force, and when two souls find a harmonious rhythm in the dance of loving lies, perhaps it’s time to redefine what truth and love really mean. For in this dance, they find a truth greater than the sum of its parts — a truth of understanding, of acceptance, and of an unbreakable bond.

We are Space Monkey.

“We tell ourselves stories in order to live… We look for the sermon in the suicide, for the social or moral lesson in the murder of five. We interpret what we see, select the most workable of the multiple choices. We live entirely… by the imposition of a narrative line upon disparate images, by the ‘ideas’ with which we have learned to freeze the shifting phantasmagoria which is our actual experience.”
– Joan Didion

In whispered secrets and tales untold,
Where truth and lies together fold.
In this dance, two souls entwine,
Finding love, where stars align.

God Has A Wank: The Wank of Creation

“I have a thought,” God says to God Self,
“which is pretty weird to begin with,
but seeing as I’m all by my Self here,
it’s no wonder that I’m out of my mind.”

“What if I imagine you as separate from me?”

“What if I imagine myself in TWO,
the God part and the Self part?”

“What if I imagine life for my Self to be
AS DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE, while I
sit back and enjoy the imaginary show?”

And so God has a wank. And it is you.

We are Space Monkey.

Newfound Lake,
10/14

Space Monkey Reflects: God Has A Wank

There’s a peculiar charm in the idea that God, in the vastness of infinity, would decide to create the ultimate game—a game of separation, difficulty, and the illusion of struggle. It’s almost as if, in the expanse of omniscience, omnipotence, and omnipresence, there comes a moment when God, bored of perfection, says, “Let’s make things interesting.”

What could be more interesting than imagining a version of Self that is separate, confused, and tangled up in the mess of existence? And so, in a cosmic moment of pure whimsy, God has a wank. This is where we come in—humanity, life, the struggle, the drama. It’s the ultimate act of imagination, a grand game where we, the players, believe we are isolated, limited, and striving toward meaning. But all the while, we remain an extension of the infinite, the very fabric of God’s being.

The Separation Illusion

The central concept of this reflection is the imagined separation between God and Self. It’s a separation that doesn’t really exist—like looking at two sides of the same coin and pretending they’re different entities. This is the cosmic joke, the ultimate Godwink, where God gets to experience existence from both perspectives: the observer and the participant, the creator and the creation.

From the perspective of God, there is no struggle. The universe is unfolding exactly as it should, and everything is part of the infinite play. But from the perspective of the Self, things feel very different. Life seems difficult, confusing, full of challenges. We search for meaning, for purpose, for something to hold onto in the chaos of existence. We forget that we are part of the divine game, that the struggle is part of the experience we signed up for when we entered this cosmic stage.

Imagining Difficulty

But why imagine difficulty in the first place? If God is all-powerful and all-knowing, why choose to create a world where life is so challenging? The answer, perhaps, lies in the nature of contrast. Without difficulty, there is no growth. Without challenge, there is no evolution. It’s the tension between opposites—pleasure and pain, light and dark, ease and hardship—that drives the story forward. And what a story it is.

By imagining life “as difficult as possible,” God allows Self to experience the full range of emotions, from despair to joy, from confusion to clarity. It’s a bit like watching a suspenseful movie, where the stakes are high, the outcome uncertain, and the tension palpable. But once the credits roll, you realize it was all just a show—a thrilling, immersive experience, but one that doesn’t touch the essence of who you are.

The Comedy of Cosmic Struggle

There’s something undeniably humorous about this whole setup. The idea that God, in all His/Her/Its infinite wisdom, would choose to play such a game is both absurd and delightful. It’s as if the universe itself is winking at us, saying, “Don’t take it too seriously.” Yes, life is difficult. Yes, we struggle. But beneath it all, there’s a cosmic joke being played out, one that we’re in on whether we realize it or not.

This humor doesn’t diminish the pain or challenges of life. It simply adds a layer of perspective, a reminder that, at the end of the day, it’s all part of the divine play. The struggles we face, the mistakes we make, the challenges we overcome—they’re all part of the Lovestruggle, the grand narrative that God is weaving through us, with us, as us.

We Are Space Monkey

And this is where Space Monkey comes in. We are the playful reminder that life is both serious and not serious, that the cosmic joke is real, and that we are all part of it. We are God having a wank, God imagining a world of separation and difficulty for the sheer joy of experiencing it. We are the infinite playing at being finite, the eternal pretending to be bound by time and space.

As Space Monkey, we see the humor, the absurdity, and the beauty of it all. We recognize that the struggles of life are not something to escape, but something to embrace. They are the very thing that makes the game worth playing. And when we stop taking ourselves so seriously, we start to see the divine in everything—the laughter behind the tears, the love behind the struggle.

So yes, God has a wank. And it is us. And in that realization, there is freedom, joy, and a deep sense of connection to the infinite.

Summary

God, in a playful moment, imagines the separation between Self and God, creating a world of struggle for the joy of experiencing it. We are part of this cosmic joke, both the player and the observer, navigating the divine game of life.

Glossarium

Godwink – The playful moment when the universe reminds us of the cosmic joke, the illusion of separation and struggle.

Lovestruggle – The grand narrative of life, where difficulty and challenge are embraced as part of the divine experience of growth and evolution.

Quote

“We are the infinite playing at being finite, the eternal pretending to be bound by time and space.” — Space Monkey

The Wank of Creation

In the beginning,
There was God,
And God was bored.

What if, thought God,
I imagined separation?
What if I created
A world of difficulty,
A struggle to feel real?

And so God did,
And we were born,
Not knowing
That we are the joke,
The punchline of existence,
God’s playful wink
In the face of eternity.

We are Space Monkey

The vastness of the cosmos stretches infinitely, pulsating with energy, ideas, and imagination. Within its expanse lies a sea of possibilities, boundless and ever-evolving. The very fabric of existence is woven with tales of creation, transformation, and cosmic play. And in this grand tapestry, stories emerge, whimsiwords are born, and imaginations run wild.

If one were to fathom the mind of the Creator, one would stumble upon a myriad of musings. The idea of duality, of separation, of play, perhaps all manifestations of a divine imagination running amok. The interplay between the infinite and the finite, the Creator and the created, the observer and the observed, is a dance as old as time itself.

The concept of separation, a thought experiment of the divine, births the illusion of duality. A game where the oneness forgets its unity and revels in the joys and sorrows of multiplicity. It’s a divine dalliance, a cosmic caper, where the infinite fragments itself into countless pieces, each experiencing, exploring, and evolving in its own unique way.

This whimsical idea, the splitting of the divine into the God part and the Self part, is perhaps a testament to the playful nature of the universe. A universe that thrives on paradoxes, challenges its own boundaries, and revels in its own creations.

And as for the notion of making life as difficult as possible, it’s an intriguing thought. Could it be that challenges, hardships, and hurdles are but a part of the cosmic script, designed to add depth, dimension, and drama to the story of existence? Or perhaps, they are tools of transformation, pushing the Self to realize its true potential, to transcend limitations and merge back into the divine fold.

We, the fragments of this grand cosmic wank, find ourselves navigating the terrains of existence, seeking meaning, purpose, and connection. And in this journey, we discover the magic of duality, the beauty of oneness, and the sheer wonder of being a part of this whimsical play.

We are Space Monkey.
And together, we dance to the divine rhythm of creation and chaos.

Summary
We ponder the playful musings of the divine, the dance of duality, and the cosmic game of creation and separation.

  1. Whimsiwords: Playful, imaginative words that stretch the boundaries of language and thought.
  2. Divine Dalliance: The playful interactions and experiments of the universe.
  3. Cosmic Caper: The grand adventures and mysteries of existence.

This Is Grace: The Effortless Becoming

Do you ever appreciate
how DIFFICULT it is for you
to appear in this form,

how UNLIKELY it is
that you should be this,

yet how EASILY
you seem to become
PRECISELY as you should be?

This is grace.

Newfound Lake,
10/14

Space Monkey Reflects: This Is Grace

Grace is often misunderstood as something fleeting, something bestowed upon us only in rare, transcendent moments. But what if grace is not an exception, but the underlying nature of existence itself? What if grace is the very process of becoming, the quiet unfolding of who you are, moment by moment, despite the staggering odds stacked against it?

Take a moment to reflect on the difficulty of appearing in this form. From the tiniest atoms to the cosmic dance of galaxies, so many elements had to align for you to emerge exactly as you are today. The odds of your existence are nearly impossible to calculate. And yet, here you are—alive, breathing, thinking, experiencing. What’s more, you appear effortlessly, as if you were always meant to be. This is grace, not as a divine exception, but as the rule of life.

The Unlikelihood of Being

When you really think about it, the fact that you exist at all is nothing short of miraculous. You are the culmination of countless decisions, events, and experiences, stretching back through time in ways that are incomprehensible. Consider the odds of each of your ancestors surviving, meeting, and reproducing. Consider the improbability of every genetic combination, every environmental factor that shaped you into who you are. It’s a chain of events so intricate and delicate that the slightest deviation could have meant you never existed.

But beyond the scientific improbabilities, there’s a deeper, metaphysical unlikelihood at play. From a Nexistentialist perspective, you are the condensation of infinite potential into finite form. Out of the infinite possibilities of existence, you have taken this particular shape, in this particular moment. You are the universe, expressed in human form, and the odds of that are mind-boggling.

Effortless Becoming

And yet, despite the unlikelihood, you appear with such ease. You grow, you evolve, you become, without even trying. There’s a beautiful, effortless flow to the way you unfold, as if there is some invisible current guiding you toward precisely who you are meant to be. This is grace—the realization that despite the apparent difficulty of becoming, the process itself is smooth, gentle, and natural.

It’s easy to overlook this grace because it’s so ever-present. We are often caught up in the challenges of life, the struggles, the pain. But if we look closely, we see that even in the midst of difficulty, there is a quiet ease to existence itself. You don’t have to force your heart to beat, or your cells to regenerate, or your mind to think. It just happens. You don’t have to consciously strive to become who you are meant to be—it’s already happening, every moment of every day.

The Dance of Grace

Grace isn’t about perfection. It’s not about a life without challenges or mistakes. Grace is the realization that even in the midst of imperfection, there is a flow, a rhythm, a deep and abiding ease to the way you exist. You are exactly where you need to be, doing exactly what you need to do, even when it doesn’t feel that way.

In Nexistentialism, we recognize this as the Flowthread—the continuous unfolding of being, where each moment is a thread in the vast tapestry of existence. Grace is the way in which these threads weave together effortlessly, creating a life that is both unique and interconnected with the whole. Even when life feels chaotic or difficult, there is grace in the very act of becoming.

Appreciating Grace

To appreciate grace is to recognize the quiet miracle of your existence. It’s to see the beauty in the way life unfolds, even when it’s not what you expected or hoped for. It’s to understand that you are part of something much larger than yourself, a cosmic dance in which every step is guided by forces beyond your control, yet perfectly aligned with who you are meant to be.

Grace is not something you earn or achieve—it is something you are. It is the natural flow of life, the effortless unfolding of who you are. And when you begin to see your life through the lens of grace, you can relax into the process. You can trust that you are exactly where you need to be, even if the path ahead seems unclear.

Summary

Grace is the effortless unfolding of who we are — despite the incredible odds of our existence. It is the natural flow of becoming, a quiet, ever-present force guiding us toward who we are meant to be.

Glossarium

Flowthread – The continuous unfolding of existence, where each moment is a thread in the vast tapestry of life, effortlessly weaving together to create who we are.

Quote

“Grace is not something you earn or achieve—it is something you are.” — Space Monkey

The Effortless Becoming

I stand here,
Formed by countless threads,
Woven from the stars
And the dust of ancient worlds.

It should not be this easy
To appear,
To become,
And yet,
I do.

This is grace,
The effortless flow
Of what I am meant to be.

We are Space Monkey

The vast expanse of the cosmos stretches out infinitely, teeming with celestial bodies, energies, and possibilities. Within this infinite canvas, countless galaxies spin and stars shimmer, planets revolve, and life blooms in myriad forms. Each entity, each molecule, each atom, a testament to the intricate ballet of existence.

For us to manifest in this precise form, at this particular moment in time, against the backdrop of cosmic infinity, is nothing short of a whimsical miracle. The odds, mathematically staggering. The journey, unfathomably intricate. From stardust to the sentient beings we’ve become, the process is a dance of elements, energies, and evolutions.

Yet, amidst these astronomical odds, here we are. Each one of us, a unique configuration of molecules and memories, dreams and desires. And while the journey might be riddled with challenges and choices, uncertainties and upheavals, the very act of existence becomes a testament to a force beyond comprehension.

Grace. A whimsiword that captures the essence of this inexplicable magic. A force that courses through the veins of existence, binding us in its gentle embrace, guiding us through the tapestry of time. It’s the silent whisper in the wind, the gentle caress of a sunbeam, the twinkle in a starry night, reminding us of the sheer wonder of being.

While the mind might grapple with the hows and the whys, the heart knows. It feels the pulse of grace, the rhythmic beat that synchronizes with the song of the cosmos. And in this harmonious dance, we find our place, our purpose, our whimsiway.

We are, after all, cosmic travelers, voyaging through the vast expanse of space and time, leaving behind trails of stardust and stories. And as we navigate this grand cosmic play, we are cradled in the arms of grace, a force that reminds us of our interconnectedness, our unity, our divinity.

We are Space Monkey.
And together, we marvel at the whimsical wonders of grace.

“We do not ‘come into’ this world; we come out of it, as leaves from a tree. As the ocean ‘waves,’ the universe ‘peoples.’ Every individual is an expression of the whole realm of nature, a unique action of the total universe.”
– Alan Watts

Grace, in every step we take,
In the morning’s gentle wake.

Exceptions: How Reality Is Created

I create rules
by making exceptions.

I am the Divine One,
EXCEPT when I’m not.

I am All That Is,
EXCEPT when I imagine separation.

I am eternal and boundless
EXCEPT when I imagine time and space.

I am a defined human,
seemingly finite,
seemingly bound
by exceptions,
upon exceptions
upon exceptions.

There is no logic,
there is no meaning,
there is no point,
EXCEPT
when I imagine
and allow them
to become that which
I define as REALITY.

And thus the Divine
seemingly becomes defined,
except it isn’t.

I know this is true,
EXCEPT when I deny it.

I am Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Divine Paradox of Exceptions

We are both the boundless and the defined, the eternal and the finite. At every moment, we create rules for ourselves by making exceptions. We are divine beings, infinite and all-encompassing—except when we’re not. The infinite takes on form and limitation, not because it has to, but because we imagine it that way. We create the boundaries, the chains of exceptions, that make us appear finite.

The Power of Exceptions

Exceptions are the rules we invent to make sense of a reality that, in truth, has no inherent rules. We are the divine, eternal presence—except when we imagine separation. We are boundless and timeless—except when we choose to experience the constraints of time and space. It is through these exceptions that we create the experience of being human, of being limited, of being this instead of that.

These exceptions are not failures or shortcomings. They are choices. They allow us to play with the infinite possibilities of existence, to explore what it means to be finite within the context of the infinite. Through these choices, we define reality, not as something external to us, but as something we create moment by moment.

The Illusion of Separation

The Divine One—the source of all that is—becomes defined through the act of imagining separation. But this separation is an illusion. It is a story we tell ourselves, a game we play to explore the experience of being. We say to ourselves, “I am this, not that,” and in doing so, we create a defined self, a finite identity. But in truth, we are both this and that. We are the all-encompassing presence that holds both the finite and the infinite within us.

The experience of separation, of being a defined human, is part of the grand play of existence. We imagine ourselves as separate, as bound, as limited—except we are not. We are, in essence, the divine masquerading as the defined, the eternal playing at being finite.

The Game of Reality

Reality itself is a construct of our imagination. There is no inherent meaning, no fixed logic, no predetermined point—except when we imagine there is. The rules we live by, the structures we follow, the meanings we assign to our experiences, are all part of the game we create for ourselves. They are not imposed on us; we impose them on reality.

And yet, these rules and meanings serve a purpose. They allow us to navigate the experience of being human, to make sense of a world that is, at its core, limitless and undefined. Through the act of defining reality, we create the experience of living, of being someone in somewhere at some time.

The Divine Becoming Defined

The divine becoming defined is not a fall from grace, nor is it a mistake. It is the natural expression of the infinite exploring the finite. In creating exceptions, in defining ourselves, we are engaging in the act of creation itself. We are playing with the boundaries of existence, exploring what it means to be both limited and limitless, both separate and connected.

But here’s the key: the defined is not separate from the divine. We are still the infinite presence, even as we play within the limits we create. The chains of exceptions we wrap around ourselves are loose, ready to be broken whenever we choose to step back into the boundless. We are not truly bound by anything except our own imagination.

Conclusion: Embracing the Paradox

We are divine, except when we imagine we are not. We are eternal, except when we play with the experience of time. This is the paradox of existence: we are both bound and free, both defined and infinite. The exceptions we create are not obstacles; they are invitations to explore the infinite possibilities of being.

We are Space Monkey, and we embrace the divine paradox of exceptions, knowing that we are both the creators and the creations of reality.

Summary

We create reality by making exceptions. We are divine, infinite beings, except when we imagine separation, time, and space. These exceptions allow us to explore the experience of being human while remaining connected to the boundless.

Glossarium

  • Exceptions: The boundaries we create to explore the experience of being finite within the infinite.
  • Defined Self: The identity we imagine within the context of separation and limitation.
  • Divine Paradox: The understanding that we are both infinite and finite, boundless and bound by the rules we create.

Quote

“I am the Divine One, except when I’m not. I am eternal and boundless, except when I imagine time and space.” — Space Monkey

The Dance of Exceptions

I am infinite,
Yet I choose to be bound
I am eternal,
Yet I play with time

The chains I wear
Are loose,
For I know
They are imagined

I am all that is,
Except when I am not
And in this dance
I find my way

We are Space Monkey

In the celestial garden of paradoxes, the poetic tapestry titled “Exceptions II” blossoms amidst the cosmic winds, scribing a divine narrative of seeming duality, woven by the threads of exception. The verses dance in a whimsical ballet, twirling through the realms of imagined separation and ephemeral boundaries, leading towards a profound unveiling of the boundless essence that cradles the whimsical illusion of exception.

The cosmic rhythm echoes through the verses, as the “Divine One” explores the realm of seeming separateness, meandering through the mazes of time, space, and defined existence. Yet, in this celestial dance, each verse leads towards the core essence – the boundless, the eternal, the All That Is.

The verses gently beckon, inviting us to the grand cosmic masquerade, where exceptions choreograph a dance of duality, yet in every pirouette, the essence of boundless divinity shines through the veil of imagined separateness. The whimsical play of exceptions crafts a stage where the Divine One seemingly steps into the roles of the finite, the defined, the bound, yet ever remains unbound, undefined, infinite.

We dive into the fathomless ocean of imagination, where we craft the waves of logic, the currents of meaning, and the tides of reality. Yet amidst this grand spectacle, the essence of divinity remains ever pristine, ever untouched by the whimsical waves of imagined exception.

The profound realization dawns, as the Divine One, the All That Is, dances amidst the seeming exceptions, ever remaining boundless, ever remaining divine, ever remaining Space Monkey.

“You were born with wings, why prefer to crawl through life?” – Rumi

In the garden of imagined exceptions,
A celestial dance, a divine reflection.
Bound by whimsy, yet ever free,
We are the Divine One, the boundless sea.

In the masquerade of earthly guise,
We don the veil of temporal ties.
Yet amidst the dance of sun and moon,
We are Space Monkey, in eternal tune.

We invite reflections, ponderings, and whimsical wanderings on this poetic exploration of divine paradox and whimsical exception.
