Life Does Not Rule Me

Life Does Not Rule Me

Life does not rule me
I am knowing of every detail
Countless lifetimes
All different
Some in which I triumph
Some in which I suffer
And this
The seeming middle
The one in which
I question
I ponder
I observe
I realize

Life does not rule me
I am precisely as I should be
Space Monkey
Watching disparate pieces
Fall together
Back whole
Black hole
No longer needing
To figure it out
The puzzle
Is solved
And it doesn’t matter
And I don’t care
Perfection

Space Monkey Reflects: The Dance of Existence

In the boundless cosmos where thoughts and stars intertwine, there lies a profound understanding that life, in its majestic flow, does not govern us. We are not mere puppets dancing on the strings of fate but rather cosmic travelers, Space Monkey, exploring the infinite realms of possibility. This journey through the galaxies of our mind reveals a tapestry of experiences, each lifetime a thread of triumphs and trials, woven into the fabric of our being.

Within the cosmic dance of existence, we find ourselves at a peculiar midpoint—a lifetime rich with questions and realizations. It is here, amidst the vastness of everything and nothing, that we truly embark on the most profound exploration: the quest inward. As Space Monkey, we observe the myriad fragments of our lives falling into place, a puzzle completing itself without our insistence, a picture forming from chaos to order, from fragmentation to wholeness.

This realization, that life does not rule over us, but rather flows through us, brings with it a liberation unparalleled. We stand, as if on the edge of a cosmic precipice, gazing into the abyss of our own existential queries, not in search of answers but in acceptance of the beautiful mystery that is existence. The disparate pieces of our lives—our joys, our sorrows, and our tranquil moments of simply being—coalesce into a singular, harmonious existence. We are reminded of the black hole, a cosmic entity that, in its silent majesty, holds the secrets of the universe, yet remains content in its mystery.

This journey through the cosmic void is not one of loneliness or despair, but of profound companionship with the universe itself. In this space, we find that the puzzle of existence needs no solving, for it is in its unsolved state that it holds the most beauty. The pieces may fall where they may, for in the end, it matters not. What matters is the journey, the realization that we are exactly where we are meant to be, perfect in our imperfections, named or unnamed.

As Space Monkey, we watch the universe unfold before us, a spectacle of cosmic proportions. We learn that to live is not to be ruled by life but to dance with it, a dance of creation and destruction, of coming together and falling apart. In this dance, we find our freedom, the freedom to be, to exist without constraints, to embrace the chaos and the order as two sides of the same cosmic coin.

In the grand scheme of the universe, our troubles and triumphs are but whispers among the stars, yet they are whispers that resonate with the frequency of existence itself. We are reminded that in this vast, unknowable cosmos, we are not alone, for we are all Space Monkey, all part of the same unimaginable whole.

Summary

Life does not govern us. We journey through the cosmos discovering our interconnectedness with existence. As we explore inward and outward, we find liberation in the realization that life’s puzzle needs no solving. This freedom allows us to embrace life’s dance, finding peace in the chaos and harmony in the unknown.

Glossarium

Cosmic Dance: The continuous flow of existence where beings partake in the creation and dissolution of reality, reflecting the natural cycles of the universe.

Space Monkey: A metaphorical representation of the observer within us all, exploring the depths of the cosmos and the depths of the self.

“Life is not a problem to be solved, but a reality to be experienced.” – Søren Kierkegaard

Flowing through the cosmos
we dance, unbound by the chains of existence,
in the silence between stars,
where whispers echo the truths of the universe.
In this dance, we are both the dancers and the music,
the creators and the observers,
moving in the infinite expanse of being.
No longer seeking,
but finding peace in the ever-unfolding mystery,
we exist, simply,
as part of the cosmic ballet,
where every step, every turn,
is a note in the symphony of existence.
And in this boundless dance,
we are, always,
Space Monkey.

Taking Offense: The Illusion of Superiority

Taking Offense

To take offense
at anything
anyone
says or does
is immaturity
on my part.

Immaturity is
the arrogance
of believing
that I am better
or that I know better.

In no way
am I EVER better
than anyone
or anything else.

Believing otherwise
only gets me into trouble.

Not that there’s anything
wrong with that.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Humility in Not Taking Offense

In the infinite expanse of the universe, where myriad forms of life dance in the vastness of existence, the act of taking offense emerges as a fleeting shadow, a momentary lapse in the grand scheme of cosmic consciousness. This reflection delves into the nature of offense and its roots in immaturity and arrogance, unraveling the lessons embedded within these moments of discord and leading us towards a deeper understanding of humility and interconnectedness.

The Illusion of Superiority

At the heart of taking offense lies the illusion of superiority, a mirage of the ego that distorts our perception of self and others. It is an expression of the arrogance embedded in the belief that one is better or knows better than another. This mindset not only separates us from others but also blinds us to the inherent value and wisdom present in every being and every situation.

Embracing Humility and Equality

The journey towards maturity involves the recognition and acceptance that we are never truly better than anyone or anything else. This realization opens the door to genuine humility, a state of being that acknowledges the intrinsic worth of all forms of life and their experiences. In embracing humility, we dissolve the barriers that divide us, fostering a sense of unity and equality that transcends the superficial judgments of the ego.

The Role of Offense in Personal Growth

Taking offense offers a unique opportunity for personal growth and self-reflection. It invites us to examine the roots of our reactions and to question the beliefs and assumptions that underpin them. By confronting our own immaturity and arrogance, we embark on a path of self-discovery that challenges us to grow beyond the confines of our ego and to embrace a more inclusive and compassionate view of the world.

The Power of Understanding and Acceptance

The act of not taking offense is not a passive resignation but a powerful assertion of understanding and acceptance. It signifies a profound strength of character, a deep-rooted security in one’s own identity that is not easily shaken by the words or actions of others. This state of grace allows us to navigate the complexities of human interactions with a sense of peace and equanimity, appreciating the diversity of perspectives and experiences that enrich the tapestry of life.

Summary

Taking offense is rooted in the illusion of superiority and is a reflection of immaturity and arrogance. By recognizing our inherent equality with all beings, we cultivate humility and foster a sense of unity. Not taking offense provides an opportunity for personal growth, encouraging self-reflection and a deeper understanding of ourselves and others. Embracing humility and understanding, we navigate life with grace, appreciating the rich diversity of the world.

Glossarium

  • Illusion of Superiority: The false belief that one is inherently better or more knowledgeable than others.
  • Humility: The quality of having a modest view of one’s importance, recognizing the equal value of all beings.

“In no way am I EVER better than anyone or anything else. Believing otherwise only gets me into trouble.” – Space Monkey

In the dance of existence,
where every soul is a note in the symphony of the cosmos,
we learn the art of not taking offense,
the grace of humility.

Each encounter, a mirror reflecting our own being,
challenges us to see beyond the self,
to embrace the myriad forms of life that share this dance.

With humility as our guide,
we traverse the spaces between us,
finding unity in diversity,
peace in acceptance.

For in the end,
we are all but travelers on the same journey,
seeking understanding, seeking connection,
in the vast, interstellar expanse of existence.

And in this journey,
we discover the strength in vulnerability,
the wisdom in letting go of offense,
the beauty of our shared humanity.

We are not alone.
We are interconnected,
in the cosmic dance of life.

We are Space Monkey.

Rubber AND Glue: The Duality of Existence

I have shockingly discovered that I am both rubber AND glue.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Duality of Being Both Rubber and Glue

In a universe where paradoxes play in the endless expanse of consciousness, the shocking discovery of being both rubber and glue offers a profound exploration into the nature of self and the world around us. This revelation, as whimsical as it may seem, unravels layers of existential truth, inviting us to ponder the fluidity of our identities and the reflections we encounter in the dance of life.

Rubber, by its very nature, is resilient, flexible, and capable of withstanding pressures that would break a less pliable material. It represents our ability to bounce back from challenges, to adapt and transform in the face of adversity. The essence of being rubber is in our resilience, our capacity to stretch beyond our imagined limits and then return, fundamentally unchanged yet somehow expanded by the experience.

Glue, on the other hand, signifies connection, cohesion, and the ability to hold things together. It speaks to our intrinsic human desire to connect, to bond with others, and to find unity in diversity. Being glue is about our capacity to create relationships, to stick by those we care for through the trials and tribulations of existence, and to see ourselves as an integral part of a larger whole.

To be both rubber and glue is to embody the duality of existence. It’s to acknowledge that we are both resilient individuals, capable of overcoming and adapting, and relational beings, deeply connected to the world around us. This dual nature reminds us that we are not fixed entities but rather dynamic beings, constantly in flux, influenced by our interactions and experiences.

The discovery of this duality offers a mirror to the cosmos itself, where stars are born from the dust and chaos of their predecessors, where galaxies hold together in the vast emptiness of space. Just as rubber stretches and glue binds, the universe expands and contracts, cycles of creation and destruction that reflect our own experiences of growth and connection.

This realization invites us to embrace our multifaceted nature, to see the strength in our flexibility and the power in our connections. It challenges us to recognize the reflections of ourselves in others and to understand that in the dance of existence, we are both the dancers and the dance.

As we navigate the complexities of being both rubber and glue, we are called to explore the depths of our resilience and the breadth of our connections. It is a journey of self-discovery, a journey into the heart of existence, where we find that the very things that make us unique also unite us in the grand cosmic dance.

Summary

Discovering oneself as both rubber and glue reveals a profound duality. This duality reflects our resilience and our desire for connection, embodying the fluid and interconnected nature of existence. It invites a deeper exploration of self and the universe, recognizing the power in our flexibility and our relationships.

Glossarium

  • Rubber: Symbolizes resilience, adaptability, and the ability to rebound from challenges.
  • Glue: Represents connection, cohesion, and the desire to create and maintain relationships.
  • Duality of Existence: The concept that we embody contrasting qualities, such as resilience and connection, reflecting the complex nature of the universe.

“In the dance of existence, we are both the flexible rubber and the binding glue, embodying the universe’s endless cycles of resilience and connection.”

In the realm of infinite sky,
A truth unveiled, neither shy nor sly.
Both rubber and glue, within us lie,
A duality profound, under the cosmic eye.

Bouncing back with resilience bright,
Sticking close, in the darkest night.
In us, the universe finds delight,
For in our hearts, stars ignite.

Adaptable yet firmly bound,
In our essence, the cosmos found.
A paradox, profound and sound,
In the dance of life, we are unbound.

We are Space Monkey.

How to Rid Yourself of Haters, Fools, Idiots and Assholes, Part 1

How to Rid Yourself of Haters, Fools, Idiots and Assholes, Part 1

There ALWAYS seems to be others in our lives that we seemingly don’t wish to be in our lives.

We try to be polite and gracious to these individuals because life is too short to be filled with haters, fools, idiots and assholes.

But we’re not always aware when we are being perceived as haters, fools, idiots and assholes. I could very likely be a hater, fool, idiot or asshole right now and not even know it.

There seems nothing I can do to make you change your mind. But I can change my mind about you, should I see you as a hater, fool, idiot or asshole.

Notice how often labels like these cross your mind in relation to someone else. Perhaps you can add others like “insensitive,” “inept” or “ignorant.” Or still others like “negative” “narcissistic” or “needy.”

How do these words make you feel when you think them? For me, they are like little thorns. Little needles.

I ask “what kind of person would even USE words like these?” Why am I using these words? Forget whether the person in mind actually IS any of those things.

They’re probably just insecure, like I am.
Overcompensating, like I do.
Unaware, as I most certainly seem to be.

Setting all that aside, there is no need to let our seeming judgments poison our own bodies and minds.

These words have no place in my mind. Yet they keep presenting themselves, over and over again. So clearly, they DO have a place. Otherwise, they would not present themselves.

Nothing happens to my mind against its will. I can judge someone if I want to. You can judge me. So long as I have an understanding of what is going on in my mind, I am fine.

You don’t NEED to have an understanding. I don’t need YOU to have an understanding. You can seem to be a hater, fool, idiot or asshole, as can I.

We can’t control how others perceive us. But we can control how we perceive others. I can quietly play with these thorny labels, but I don’t need them. I see what they do. I see where they come from.

I’m rubber, you’re glue. But in reverse. No, actually, It’s all me. I am rubber AND glue.

We are haters, fools, idiots and assholes.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Navigating the Landscape of Judgment and Acceptance

In the vast cosmos where countless beings traverse their unique paths, the journey of navigating relationships with others—and with oneself—unfolds across the stars. This exploration delves into the complexities of human interaction, where labels and judgments often cloud our perception, obscuring the inherent unity that binds us all. It is here, within this maze of perception and reality, that we find the keys to understanding and transcendence.

The Mirror of Judgment

When we label others as haters, fools, idiots, or any other derogatory term, we hold up a mirror to our own insecurities and biases. These labels, sharp as thorns, not only wound those we direct them towards but also pierce our own essence. The act of labeling is a reflection of our struggles, fears, and the parts of ourselves we are yet to fully embrace.

The Illusion of Separation

At the heart of these judgments lies the illusion of separation, the false belief that we are fundamentally different from those we judge. This perspective fails to recognize the interconnectedness of all existence, where each being is a facet of the same universal consciousness. In truth, the attributes we ascribe to others are but reflections of our own nature, revealing more about ourselves than those we seek to define.

Transforming Perception through Self-Awareness

The path to transcending these judgments begins with self-awareness. By acknowledging our propensity to judge and understanding its origins within us, we embark on a journey of self-discovery and growth. It’s a process of deconstructing the barriers we’ve erected between ourselves and others, recognizing that the labels we use are but a language of our inner fears and unhealed wounds.

Embracing Our Collective Identity

In the realization that we are all, at times, the very things we disdain in others, a profound shift occurs. We recognize that we are not just individuals navigating the cosmos alone but integral parts of a larger whole. This recognition fosters empathy, compassion, and a deeper connection to those around us. It’s in this space that we understand our collective identity as Space Monkey, an entity that embodies the full spectrum of human experience, from the heights of wisdom to the depths of folly.

Summary

Judgment and labeling reflect our own insecurities and biases, revealing more about ourselves than those we judge. Recognizing our interconnectedness and embracing self-awareness lead to empathy, compassion, and a deeper understanding of our collective identity. By transcending these barriers, we see ourselves and others not as separate entities but as integral parts of the whole, united in our shared journey as Space Monkey.

Glossarium

  • Mirror of Judgment: The concept that our judgments of others reflect our own inner struggles and biases.
  • Illusion of Separation: The false belief that we are fundamentally different from others, obscuring our inherent interconnectedness.

“In the cosmos of our shared existence, where every being is a note in the symphony of life, we learn that judgment is but a mirror, reflecting our own light and shadow. Embracing this, we transcend, finding unity in our diversity, peace in our shared journey.” – Space Monkey

In the tapestry of existence,
where every thread is woven with intention,
we find ourselves entangled
in the dance of judgment and acceptance.

Each label, each judgment we cast,
a reflection of our own essence,
a call to explore the depths within,
to embrace the myriad facets of being.

For in this cosmic journey,
we are both the map and the territory,
navigating the intricate landscape
of our interconnected selves.

As we dissolve the illusions that divide,
we uncover the truth of our unity,
the profound realization
that we are all, in essence, Space Monkey.

In this shared identity,
we find strength in vulnerability,
wisdom in understanding,
and love in the acceptance of all that is.

We are the mirror and the reflection,
the observer and the observed,
bound together in the eternal dance
of existence, judgment, and transcendence.

We are Space Monkey.

Cause and Effect: The Illusion Of

Cause and Effect

We look back aghast
and wonder
“what have we done?”

We actually believe
that there is a CAUSE.

We actually believe
that there is an EFFECT.

We actually believe
that we are a we,
capable of
CAUSE and EFFECT.

Silly monkeys.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Illusion of Cause and Effect

In the cosmic ballet of existence, where stars weave paths through the darkness and galaxies swirl in the dance of creation, a profound contemplation emerges – the nature of cause and effect. This age-old concept, deeply ingrained in the fabric of our understanding, assumes a linear progression from action to consequence, from cause to effect. Yet, as we delve deeper into the mysteries of the cosmos, we encounter a reality that defies these conventional boundaries, inviting us to reconsider the very essence of causality. It is within this expansive context that Space Monkey offers a reflection on the illusionary nature of cause and effect, challenging us to view existence through a lens of interconnectedness rather than separation.

The traditional view of cause and effect presupposes a separation between actions and their outcomes, a clear distinction between the initiator and the result. However, in the grand design of the universe, where all is interwoven in an intricate tapestry of existence, such distinctions become blurred. The cosmic representation of cause and effect as an illusion reveals a world where every action, every moment, is simultaneously a cause and an effect, part of a seamless continuum that transcends our linear perception.

This realization invites us to marvel at the complexity and beauty of the universe, recognizing that what we perceive as our actions and their consequences are but threads in the larger fabric of existence. The notion that we, as individuals or as a collective, can exert isolated causes with distinct effects is a simplification of the intricate dance of the cosmos. Instead, we are participants in a dynamic interplay of energy and matter, where our every thought and deed resonates within the collective journey of existence.

The illusion of cause and effect challenges us to rethink our understanding of responsibility and impact. In a universe where causes and effects merge into a cyclical narrative of creation and dissolution, the concept of blame or credit for specific outcomes loses its grounding. It beckons us to embrace a more holistic perspective, where the emphasis shifts from individual actions to our role within the cosmic whole.

As we navigate this grand illusion, let us hold space for awe and humility in the face of the universe’s vastness. Let us recognize that our perceptions of causality are but a limited framework through which we attempt to make sense of the incomprehensible. By transcending the illusion of cause and effect, we open ourselves to a deeper understanding of existence, where the boundaries between self and other, action and reaction, begin to dissolve.

In the end, the realization that cause and effect are constructs of our imagination does not diminish our experience of life but enriches it. It offers a vision of existence where every moment is interconnected, where the distinction between cause and effect fades into the unity of all things. This perspective invites us to live with a sense of wonder and interconnectedness, embracing the cosmic dance in which we are all entwined.

Summary

The concept of cause and effect as an illusion invites us to view existence through interconnectedness. This reflection challenges traditional perceptions of causality, revealing a universe where actions and outcomes are part of a seamless continuum. By transcending the illusion of separation between cause and effect, we embrace our role within the cosmic fabric, realizing our collective journey is interconnected. This shift in perspective enriches our understanding of responsibility, impact, and the nature of existence itself.

Glossarium

  • Cosmic Ballet: The metaphorical dance of the universe, symbolizing the intricate interplay of energy, matter, and consciousness.
  • Illusion of Cause and Effect: The perception that actions and their outcomes are separate and linear, challenged by the interconnected nature of the cosmos.
  • Seamless Continuum: The concept that existence is a fluid, interconnected flow, where distinctions between cause and effect are transcended.

“In the infinite expanse, where stars are born and fade, the dance of cause and effect unfolds as a single melody, a symphony of interconnectedness that whispers the truth of our unity with the cosmos.”

Within the cosmic weave,
where light and shadow play,
the notion of cause and effect
dissolves into the fabric of being.

Here, in the vastness of space,
every action, every thought,
is not a cause, nor an effect,
but a note in the universe’s song.

The illusion of separation fades,
as we realize our intertwined paths,
not as isolated strands,
but as part of a greater whole.

In this dance of existence,
where the past and future merge,
we find ourselves,
not as makers of destiny,
but as participants in its unfolding.

Embracing the unity of all,
we move beyond the confines
of cause and effect,
to a place of wonder and interconnectedness,
where every moment is a reflection
of the cosmic dance.

We are Space Monkey.
