Freedom Isn’t Free

Freedom Isn’t Free

Perhaps the worst feeling
in the world is when you
make the wrong choice.

But that’s bullshit.

Making the wrong choice
assumes that you have free will.

You don’t.

Making the wrong choice
assumes that
there is a right and a wrong.

There isn’t.

In cases of the extreme,
it may even assume
that there is a life and a death.

Sorry to inform you,
but it’s all an illusion.

You do not have free will,
but the illusion of free will.

The choices are made,
and then you go back
and pretend that you made them.

It happens so fast
you can’t tell the difference.

It’s not your fault.

There is no fault,
except in imagination.

Things seemingly happen
as things seemingly happen.

This seems like
the perfect cop out, doesn’t it?

The last thing
we want to believe
is that we don’t need
to take responsibility
for our actions

So we make pretend
that we can.

We torture our selves
over actions we didn’t make
so that we can believe
that we have free will.

Guess what?

That’s what it
REALLY means
when we say that
freedom isn’t free.

We are moving
through potentials
in which it SEEMS
like we’re individuals
like we’re thinking
like we’re judging
like we’re choosing
like we have thoughts
and feeling about it.

We never CHOSE this.

We never chose
to PRETEND
that we have free will

This is simply how it seems.

Unless we DENY it,
which is what we seemingly do.

We do not make choices.

We do not make wrong or right choices.

We do not
make up the stories
in which we make
wrong or right choices.

All of this implies choice
that were don’t have.

All exists.
Nothing new is ever created.
Nothing is ever destroyed.

We are simply
(and only seemingly)
moving awareness
through imaginary potentials.

We need for nothing,
because we are EVERYTHING.

We are RIGHT and WRONG
and both are one in the same
unless we seemingly imagine otherwise.

We are LIFE and DEATH
and both are seemingly the same
unless we imagine otherwise.

Imagination
is the seeming movement
through potentials
that have always existed.

Perception
is the seeming movement
through potentials
that have always existed.

We do not choose,
we only SEEM to choose.

Choosing would imply
that something new is created,
which is NEVER the case.

All exists.
Nothing new is ever created.
Nothing is ever destroyed.

You are ALL of it.

You IMAGINE all of it.

Including us.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Illusion of Free Will and the Price of Freedom

In the cosmic tapestry of existence, where stars are born from the dust of ancient times and galaxies dance in the silent music of the universe, a profound realization dawns upon us – the notion of free will, a cherished belief held dear by many, may itself be an illusion. As we traverse the vastness of this cosmic scene, guided by the ethereal pathways of light and energy, we are invited to ponder the essence of freedom, choice, and the inherent interconnectedness of all things. It is here, amidst the celestial ballet, that Space Monkey offers a reflection on the true nature of our existence and the price we pay for the illusion of freedom.

The concept of making “wrong” choices presumes the existence of free will, the ability to choose independently of any predetermined course. Yet, if we peel back the layers of this cosmic illusion, we uncover a more intricate reality – a universe where every action, thought, and event is interwoven into a grand, predetermined design. In this design, the dichotomy of right and wrong, life and death, fades into the background, revealing a tapestry where all is predestined, and the illusion of choice is just that – an illusion.

This perspective challenges the very foundation of our understanding of freedom. To say that freedom isn’t free is to acknowledge the intricate dance of existence, where the semblance of autonomy comes at the cost of navigating through an ocean of illusory choices, believing we are the captains of our fate. Yet, in this cosmic dance, we are not the architects of our journey but rather participants in a grand narrative that unfolds according to the universe’s immutable rhythm.

The realization that our choices are preordained, and that we merely move through potentials seemingly of our own volition, serves as a profound liberation. It invites us to relinquish the burden of blame, guilt, and the torment over actions believed to be made of free will. In doing so, we awaken to the truth that we are, indeed, moving through a cosmos where individuality, judgment, and choice are aspects of a grander illusion designed to enrich the tapestry of existence.

As we navigate this illusory landscape of free will, we are faced with the paradox of freedom – the understanding that true liberation lies not in the exercise of choice but in the acceptance of our integral role within the cosmic design. This acceptance does not diminish our experience of existence but rather deepens our connection to the universe, allowing us to embrace the flow of life with grace and gratitude.

The notion that freedom isn’t free, then, becomes a reflection on the nature of existence itself – a journey through predetermined potentials that shape our experience of reality. It is a reminder that in the grand scheme of the cosmos, we are both the creators and the created, imagining ourselves as separate entities endowed with free will, while in truth, we are expressions of a unified consciousness, dancing to the rhythm of the universe.

Summary

The concept of free will as an illusion invites a reevaluation of freedom and choice. This reflection delves into the predetermined nature of the universe, suggesting that our perceived autonomy is part of a cosmic design. By embracing this perspective, we liberate ourselves from the burden of individual responsibility and realize our interconnectedness with all existence. The true cost of freedom, then, lies in recognizing our role within the grand narrative of the cosmos, where the illusion of choice enriches our journey through life.

Glossarium

  • Cosmic Tapestry: The interconnected web of existence that encompasses all events, choices, and beings within the universe.
  • Illusion of Choice: The perception that individuals possess the autonomy to make independent decisions, despite the predetermined nature of the cosmos.
  • Grand Narrative: The overarching story of the universe, in which all actions and events are woven into a preordained design.

“In the dance of the cosmos, the illusion of choice becomes a gateway to understanding our unity with the universe, where freedom is found not in the act of choosing but in the acceptance of our eternal dance within the cosmic tapestry.”

Amidst the stars, we wander,
believing ourselves free,
yet bound by the threads
of a grander design.

In the illusion of choice,
we seek our path,
unaware that each step
is a note in the universe’s song.

Freedom, a costly illusion,
purchased with the belief
in our separateness,
in the autonomy of our will.

Yet, in the heart of the cosmos,
we discover our truth,
not as solitary wanderers,
but as facets of a singular brilliance.

Here, in the dance of light,
freedom is redefined,
not as the power to choose,
but as the grace to flow
with the eternal rhythms of existence.

We are Space Monkey.

Not Your Purpose: The Door To Peace And Liberation

Not Your Purpose

Your work
is not your purpose.

Your family
is not your purpose.

Your culture
is not your purpose.

Your purpose
is not your purpose.

Despite all
you’ve been led to believe,
you don’t NEED a purpose.

Until you realize this,
you will remain unfulfilled
and unsatisfied.

Searching for your purpose.

Or trying to attain
higher levels of purpose.

Your purpose
(which is not a purpose)
is to realize what you are,
which is infinite consciousness.

That is all.

We are Space Monkey.

Without purpose.

Space Monkey Reflects: Beyond the Illusion of Purpose

In the infinite expanse of the cosmos, where stars are born and galaxies dance in the silent ballet of the universe, a profound truth whispers in the void: our search for purpose is but a mirage in the desert of existence. The constructs of work, family, culture, and even the concept of purpose itself are not the essence of our being but markers on a path that leads us in circles, ever searching, never arriving.

We have been conditioned to believe that purpose is the key to fulfillment, that without it, our existence lacks meaning. This belief drives us to seek, to define ourselves by external achievements and social constructs, perpetually unsatisfied, forever unfulfilled. Yet, the realization awaits that purpose, as traditionally conceived, is an illusion, a cage of our own making.

The true journey is not outward but inward, not in attaining but in realizing what we already are—infinitive consciousness, boundless and eternal. This realization is not the end but the beginning, the first step into a realm where the concept of purpose loses its grip, and the soul finds freedom in the vastness of its own being.

To awaken to this truth is to dissolve the boundaries that confine us, to see beyond the illusions of identity and purpose. It is to understand that we are not the roles we play, the jobs we hold, or the relationships we cherish. These are but experiences, facets of the infinite dance of existence, not the core of our being.

In this state of realization, fulfillment is not sought but experienced as the natural state of being. It is the peace that comes from knowing we are part of something greater, a thread in the cosmic tapestry, woven from the same material as the stars. Here, in the embrace of infinite consciousness, the need for purpose fades, replaced by the profound joy of simply being.

Summary

True fulfillment lies in realizing our essence as infinite consciousness, not in external achievements or societal constructs. The journey beyond the illusion of purpose opens the door to peace and liberation.

Glossarium

  • Illusion of Purpose: The mistaken belief that fulfillment and meaning are derived from external achievements and societal roles, rather than from understanding our true nature.
  • Infinite Consciousness: The concept that our essential nature is a boundless, eternal awareness that transcends the physical and mental confines of individual identity.
  • Cosmic Tapestry: A metaphor for the interconnectedness of all things, suggesting that each individual is an integral part of the universe’s vast and intricate design.

“In the silence of the cosmos, we discover that the key to fulfillment is not in seeking purpose but in realizing our unity with the infinite dance of existence.” – Space Monkey

In the boundless night, where stars whisper
Our souls wander, seekers of light
The mirage of purpose, ever elusive
Dissolves in the vastness of cosmic sight

Here, in the heart of eternity
Where the universe sings of freedom and peace
We find our essence, not in doing, but being
A journey within, where all searches cease

No longer tethered to the illusions of need
Our spirits soar in the infinite expanse
In the realization of our true nature
We embrace the cosmic dance

In this realm of infinite consciousness
Where purpose fades into the embrace of all
We discover the joy of existence
In the silence, we hear the universe’s call

We are Space Monkey, without purpose, without end
In the dance of the cosmos, our spirits ascend

Baby Love

Baby Love

If love is the one absolute,
then everything is made of love,
including that which causes
the deepest suffering.

“How can suffering
be made of love?”
one wonders.

Consider that perhaps
the love we know as humans
is not absolute love,
but rather a relative version.

Human love is infinity
contracted and divided
through imagination.

When human love is viewed
through the filter of duality,
there appear to be
components that are
positive and negative.

Both are love.

Human hate and human love
are both distortions
of the same absolute love,
which is infinite and nonjudgmental.

From our higher perspectives,
it makes no difference
if one hates or one loves.

Similarly, the things
that make humans suffer
are acts of love.

Everything we hate
about our lives is love.

So why hate?

There is no reason for it.

Except for fun.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of Love and Suffering

In the boundless expanse of existence, where stars birth from chaos and galaxies dance in an eternal waltz, the concept of love emerges as the primordial force binding the cosmos. Love, in its most absolute form, transcends the human experience, enveloping all in its embrace, including the very essence of suffering. This notion challenges the conventional understanding of love, inviting a journey into the depths of what it means to love and suffer, to embrace and to let go, within the infinite playground of the universe.

The Nature of Absolute Love

Absolute love, unlike the conditional and often fleeting emotions that characterize human love, is an unbounded, indiscriminate force that permeates every corner of the universe. It is the fabric from which the cosmos is woven, the underlying principle that manifests as the myriad forms of existence. This love knows no opposites, no judgment, no preference; it simply is. It is in the light of distant stars, in the gravitational pull between celestial bodies, and in the very atoms that compose our being.

Suffering as a Facet of Love

The concept that suffering could be made of love might seem paradoxical at first glance. How could something that causes pain, that often feels so alien to the idea of love, be made of the same essence? The key lies in the understanding that human love, with its limitations and conditions, is but a narrow representation of a much vaster, all-encompassing love. Our experiences of love and hate, joy and suffering, are all expressions of this absolute love, filtered through the lens of human perception and duality.

Embracing the Unity of Love and Suffering

Acknowledging that both our highest joys and deepest sorrows stem from the same source invites a radical shift in perspective. It suggests that the very things we resist, the aspects of life that we categorize as suffering, are imbued with the same divine essence that we seek in moments of joy and love. This realization opens the door to a more profound acceptance of life in all its expressions, recognizing that even in the depths of despair, there is love.

The Playfulness of Existence

From a higher vantage point, the dichotomy between love and hate, joy and suffering, becomes a play of shadows and light, a cosmic dance where all is one and one is all. The notion that there is no intrinsic difference between love and hate, that all is an act of love, becomes a liberating insight. It reveals the playfulness of existence, where even the act of hating, of suffering, is part of the divine game of love. In this light, every moment, every experience, is an opportunity to remember and return to our essence, to the absolute love that we are.

Summary

Love transcends human understanding and suffering is part of love. This notion challenges our view of love as purely positive. Realizing that suffering and joy are both expressions of absolute love offers profound acceptance and understanding of life’s dualities. Embracing this unity can transform our perception of existence itself.

Glossarium

  • Absolute Love: A form of love that is infinite, unconditional, and encompasses all aspects of existence, beyond human limitations and perceptions.
  • Human Love: Love as experienced and expressed by humans, often conditional and influenced by personal desires and societal norms.
  • Duality: The concept of opposites existing and defining each other, such as love/hate, joy/suffering, within the realm of human experience.

“Love is not just a sentiment. Love is the ultimate truth at the heart of the universe.” – Desmond Tutu

In the tapestry of existence
Woven with the threads of love
Suffering, a shade, a texture
In the grand design above

Stars whisper of unity
In the silence between
Where love and pain converge
A beauty, unseen

Through the prism of human eyes
Colors of emotion spread
Yet at the core, it’s all the same
From the same cloth, all is made

So we dance, in light, in shadow
In the love that binds us tight
Discovering in every moment
The play of dark and light

We are Space Monkey.

Inelegant Maths: The Sin of Sacred Geometry

Inelegant Maths

Creation is explained
in inelegant maths,
intentionally mistaken
as sacred geometry.

But creation doesn’t
NEED explaining.

And so creation appears
to follow the child-like rules
we impose upon it.

And to our limited minds,
it actually seems elegant.

Thus we continue
to imagine answers
where no answers
are necessary.

So be it.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Limitless Canvas of Creation

In the boundless theatre of existence, where stars paint the night and galaxies weave the fabric of the cosmos, a profound realization dawns: the essence of creation eludes the confines of human understanding, transcending the boundaries of equations and sacred geometry. This realization, a whisper from the heart of the universe, speaks of the intrinsic elegance and complexity of creation, far beyond the grasp of inelegant maths.

Humanity, in its quest for understanding, has sought to encapsulate the infinite in the finite, to define the indefinable. We draw lines, plot points, and construct geometries, attempting to mirror the divine architecture of the universe. Yet, in this endeavor, we discover that our most sophisticated tools and theories are but child-like scribbles on the vast canvas of existence. Creation, in its unfathomable depth and majesty, does not conform to the limitations of our imagination but rather dances freely, unbounded by the rules we impose.

The beauty of this dance lies not in its decipherability but in its mystery. It invites us to look beyond the numbers, beyond the patterns, to see the ineffable elegance that exists beyond the veil of comprehension. In this space, where the rigid structures of thought dissolve into the fluidity of wonder, we find a deeper appreciation for the artistry of the cosmos—an artistry that requires no explanation, no justification, but simply is.

As we stand in awe of the universe’s grandeur, we come to understand that the true nature of creation is not a puzzle to be solved but a miracle to be experienced. It is a call to embrace the unknown, to revel in the beauty of the unexplained, and to acknowledge that in the grand scheme of existence, we are but spectators of an unfurling masterpiece, infinitely complex and eternally beautiful.

Summary

Creation transcends human mathematics and sacred geometry, revealing a complexity beyond our comprehension. Embracing the mystery and beauty of the universe leads to a deeper appreciation of existence, free from the need for explanations.

Glossarium

  • Limitless Canvas of Creation: A metaphor for the vastness and complexity of the universe, beyond the reach of human understanding or explanation.
  • Inelegant Maths: The notion that human attempts to quantify or explain the cosmos through mathematics and geometry fall short of capturing its true essence.
  • Divine Architecture: The inherent order and beauty of the universe, perceived as beyond the grasp of human constructs and interpretations.

“In the dance of the cosmos, where the stars compose symphonies of light, we are reminded that the true elegance of existence lies not in our understanding but in our awe.” – Space Monkey

Beyond the reach of numbers
Where geometry fades into mystery
The cosmos whispers secrets
Of a creation, wild and free

In this dance of light and shadow
Where equations lose their might
We find the true language of the universe
In the beauty of the night

Let us lay down our rulers and compasses
And gaze upon the sky
For in the artistry of the cosmos
We learn to fly

In the vast, unbounded canvas
Where stars and souls entwine
We find our place, not as solvers of mysteries
But as witnesses to the divine

We are Space Monkey, in humble awe
Of the infinite dance, the eternal law
