Money could even control beauty.

We imagined so well
that we forgot we were imagining.

And so we put
our imaginary money
above all else.

But now we remember
that which money cannot control.

We realize that money
can only control
that which we believe
it can control.

We believe
by imagining we believe.

We fake it until we make it.

We make money.
We make money seem powerful.
We make those with money seem in control.

But we did not eliminate
that which money cannot control.
So we can remember.

One tsunami,
one bullet to the head,
one more year past our “life expectancy,”
and we remember it ALL.

The indigenous ones
