Dry Dead Leaves: The Echo of Rain

Dry dead leaves sound just
like the life-giving raindrops
they have been denied.

A magic haiku
to quench the wildfires of drought
we all sometimes fear.

Trail Wood,
10/24

Space Monkey Reflects: The Echo of Dry Dead Leaves

There is a haunting beauty in the sound of dry, dead leaves rustling underfoot. They mimic the sound of rain—those life-giving drops that have evaded them, leaving them parched and brittle. Yet, even in their dryness, they carry a memory of the rain that could have been, a reminder of the cycles that bring both abundance and scarcity. It is in this delicate space between what was, what is, and what might have been that we find ourselves contemplating not just nature but our own lives.

We have all, at some point, found ourselves in a drought—whether literal or metaphorical. We walk through the wildfires of our fears, feeling the heat of scarcity, whether it be a lack of love, opportunity, inspiration, or purpose. The dryness creeps in slowly, until one day we realize that we are living in a world devoid of the very things that once quenched our thirst for life. We become the dry leaves, brittle and fragile, longing for the rain that doesn’t come.

But even in this state, there is a kind of magic. The dry leaves, though seemingly dead, still hold the power to echo the sound of rain. They rustle with a promise, a memory of renewal. In their dryness, they whisper of cycles—of the inevitable return of water, nourishment, and life. They remind us that just as the rain once came, it will come again. The cycle of drought and abundance is as old as time itself.

The Whimsiword for this reflection is Leafecho, capturing the way dry leaves echo the sound of rain, despite having been denied it. Leafecho is not just a sound; it is a symbol of resilience, a reminder that even in the midst of a drought, we carry within us the memory and promise of renewal. It is the sound of hope disguised as fragility, the subtle reminder that nothing is ever truly lost.

When we are in the midst of our own droughts, it is easy to forget that this too is part of the cycle. The absence of rain, of nourishment, can feel endless, and the wildfires of fear can threaten to consume us. But the sound of the dry leaves underfoot reminds us that life is still present, even in its most fragile form. The rain will come again, and when it does, it will quench the fires, revive the land, and restore what was lost.

There is a strange comfort in knowing that we are not alone in our droughts. The world has always been shaped by cycles of dryness and abundance, of fire and water. We are part of this eternal rhythm, and though we may feel like dry leaves at times, we are still connected to the larger pattern of life. We, too, will be renewed.

As Space Monkeys, we reflect on how easy it is to fear the wildfires of life—the moments when everything seems to be burning away, leaving us exposed and vulnerable. But we also know that these moments are not the end. They are part of the great Whimsiweave of existence, where every drought is followed by rain, every fire by regrowth.

To quench the wildfires of our fears, we need only to listen to the Leafecho. It tells us that even in our most barren moments, we are still alive, still capable of renewal. The rain will come. The leaves will grow green again. And in the meantime, we rustle with the sound of hope, even if that hope is faint and fragile.

We are Space Monkey, listening to the Leafecho and trusting in the cycle of life.

Summary

Dry dead leaves, though brittle, still echo the sound of life-giving rain. This reflection reminds us that even in times of drought, the promise of renewal remains, and the cycles of scarcity and abundance are eternal.

Glossarium

Leafecho: The sound of dry leaves that mimic rain, symbolizing resilience and the promise of renewal even in times of drought.

Quote

“Even in their dryness, the leaves remember the rain and whisper that it will come again.” — Space Monkey

Whispers in the Wind

Dry leaves rustle, brittle and cracked
Yet they sound like the rain
The life they have been denied
Echoes in their fragile bodies

We walk through wildfires
Fearing the drought will never end
But the leaves remind us
The rain is never far

The sound of hope
In every step we take
A promise whispered
Between dry dead leaves and the wind

We are Space Monkey

Echoes of Nature

Nature has a unique way of speaking, where the rustling of withered leaves can mirror the soft patter of nourishing rain. In this intricate dance, contrasts emerge, revealing deeper truths.

The Illusion of Absence

Dry dead leaves, even in their desolation, carry memories of vibrant life and the rain that once sustained them. Their whispers are a testament to life’s cycles, of birth, flourish, and eventual decline.

Finding Magic in the Mundane

In the simplicity of a haiku, there is profound magic. Words, in their brevity, possess the power to evoke vast landscapes of emotion and imagery. A sanctuary is thus created for the soul, quelling the fires of apprehension.

Facing Our Inner Droughts

The wildfires of fear, doubt, and uncertainty are internal landscapes we navigate. Yet, the soothing power of poetry, like rain, can bring solace, transforming barren terrains into fertile grounds of hope and resilience.

The Dance of Elements

While fire consumes and water nurtures, both elements are essential in the tapestry of existence. Through their interplay, life finds balance, continuously evolving in the face of adversity and abundance.

We are Space Monkey.

In the grand ballet of nature, we are both spectators and participants, drawing lessons from the silent dialogues between leaves and rain, fire and earth.

“The poetry of the earth is never dead.” – John Keats

Amidst the silence, whispers rise,
Of fallen leaves and cloudy skies.
A dance of elements, wild and free,
Telling tales of what used to be.

Nature’s rhythms, a song so true,
Guiding us in all we pursue.
In every echo, every sound,
Life’s mysteries are profound.

In the embrace of nature’s melodies, what revelations await our soul’s quest?

ALL of IT: Becoming ONE with EVERYTHING

Another MEMO from our MONKEY.

In my youth,
I was desperate
to be noticed,
but nowadays
I’m simply happy
to be invisible,
one with the flow
that carries
all of creation.

When we are one
with creation,
we no longer care
if parts of us
are standing out
and parts of us
are blending in.

We are ALL of it.

What does it matter
where attention is placed?

Trail Wood,
10/24

Space Monkey Reflects: Becoming One with All of It

In the early stages of life, many of us are consumed by the desire to be noticed. We yearn for recognition, validation, and attention, believing that standing out from the crowd will affirm our existence and give meaning to who we are. We chase after visibility as if it holds the key to unlocking our potential. But as time passes and our understanding deepens, we come to realize that there is immense freedom in becoming invisible. Not invisible in the sense of being unseen by others, but invisible in the way that we merge with the flow of existence itself.

When we are one with the flow of creation, the need for external validation dissolves. There is no longer a desperate hunger to stand out or to make our mark. We stop caring about where attention is placed, whether on ourselves or others, because we recognize that we are part of the whole. We are not just a fragment of the universe trying to distinguish itself; we are the entire universe experiencing itself through countless forms, all of which are connected by the same flow.

The journey from seeking attention to becoming one with the flow of creation is a profound transformation. In the early stages of life, the ego craves acknowledgment, hoping that by being seen, it will find purpose. We mistake attention for love, for significance, for meaning. We believe that if we can stand out, if we can be the brightest star, then we will finally feel complete. But the truth is, the more we try to separate ourselves from the whole, the more disconnected we feel.

The real peace, the real fulfillment, comes not from standing out, but from dissolving into the flow of ALL of IT. When we let go of the need to distinguish ourselves, we find that we are already part of something far greater than any individual accomplishment. We are not a separate entity fighting to be seen; we are the current in the river, the breeze in the wind, the heartbeat of creation itself. To be one with the flow is to realize that there is no need to fight for attention because we are already everything.

The Whimsiword that encapsulates this experience is Flowvisible—the state of being both visible and invisible within the flow of creation. Flowvisible describes the paradox of being fully present in the world, yet no longer needing to stand out. It is the realization that we are simultaneously part of the visible world and the invisible forces that move through it. To be Flowvisible is to embrace the harmony of blending in and standing out, knowing that both are part of the same cosmic dance.

When we become Flowvisible, we no longer care where attention is placed. We stop worrying about whether our actions are noticed, whether we are praised or criticized, because we understand that these things are temporary and ultimately insignificant in the grand flow of life. Attention, we realize, is simply the mind’s way of trying to carve out meaning in an ever-changing universe. But meaning is not something that needs to be carved out—it is inherent in every moment, in every breath, in every heartbeat. We are ALL of IT, and that is more than enough.

As Space Monkeys, we reflect on how much energy we have spent trying to be noticed, trying to stand out in a world that is constantly changing. We laugh at the absurdity of it now, knowing that the real joy comes from embracing the flow rather than resisting it. The more we merge with the flow, the more we understand that our individual stories are just one thread in a vast, infinite tapestry. And it is the tapestry itself—the interconnectedness of ALL of IT—that holds the true beauty.

So, what does it matter where attention is placed? The need for attention is a fleeting concern, one that dissolves as soon as we step into the flow. Whether we are noticed or not, whether we stand out or blend in, we are still part of the same current, still part of the same universe. To become one with the flow is to trust that our existence has meaning, not because we are seen, but because we simply are.

This realization brings a deep sense of peace. There is no longer a need to fight, to prove, or to be anything other than what we already are. In this state of being, we experience life as it truly is—fluid, interconnected, and boundless. We are ALL of IT, and in that oneness, we find the freedom to simply be.

We are Space Monkey, floating through the currents of existence, visible and invisible, whole and complete.

Summary

The desire for attention fades as we realize we are already part of the flow of creation. By embracing the concept of Flowvisible, we understand that we are both visible and invisible within the universe, and attention becomes irrelevant. We are ALL of IT, and that is enough.

Glossarium

Flowvisible: The state of being both visible and invisible within the flow of creation, representing the harmony between standing out and blending in.

Quote

“We are ALL of IT—both the seen and unseen—flowing through creation without the need to be noticed.” — Space Monkey

Currents

In youth, I sought the light
To shine, to be seen
But now I float
Unseen, yet fully present

A ripple in the river
A whisper in the wind
Neither here nor there
Yet everywhere at once

We are the flow
We are ALL of IT
The current that carries
Both the visible and invisible

We are Space Monkey

The Evolution of Desire

From the eager eyes of youth seeking validation, we transition into a serene acceptance of the vast cosmos within. This journey is a dance of longing and fulfillment, of seeking and finding.

Invisibility and Oneness

To be invisible is not to disappear but to merge with the omnipresent. It’s a melding into the river of existence, where individual droplets dissolve into the expansive sea.

The Dance of Creation

When we align with the rhythm of creation, the distinctions blur. The spotlight and shadows, the applause and silence, all become part of the same harmonious symphony.

Wholeness and Fragmentation

In the embrace of wholeness, fragmentation loses its significance. Every part, every nuance, is a reflection of the whole. In this realization, seeking external validation becomes moot.

All-encompassing Presence

Indeed, we are ALL of it. The observer and the observed, the dreamer and the dream, the creator and the creation. In this vast expanse, where does one end, and the other begin?

The Futility of External Gaze

The shifting sands of attention and focus are transient. When we are rooted in the essence of our being, external perceptions lose their grip, and inner peace prevails.

We are Space Monkey.

In the cosmic dance of existence, we celebrate the interplay of light and shadow, of individuality and oneness, of seeking and being.

Summary: We explore the journey from a desire for external validation to the profound realization of oneness with all of creation. In this state of unity, the need for recognition dissipates, replaced by a deep sense of inner peace and connection with the cosmos.

Glossarium:

  • Omnipresent: Present everywhere at the same time.
  • Harmonious symphony: A balanced and pleasing arrangement of different elements.
  • Cosmic dance: The rhythmic movement of the universe, encompassing all forms and experiences.

“The cosmos is within us. We are made of star-stuff. We are a way for the universe to know itself.” – Carl Sagan

Melding with the universe, we soar,
Beyond desires, evermore.
In the dance of shadow and light,
We find our essence, pure and bright.

Invisibility, not a cloak to hide,
But a union, vast and wide.
For in the heart of all that’s true,
We discover, we are ALL of IT, too.

In this embrace of oneness and unity, what new horizons beckon to us?

Welcome to OTHERWISE: The Grand Denial

Welcome to OTHERWISE

Often I sit in stillness
and contemplate the unique set
of circumstances and potentials
that bring me to here,
sitting in stillness
contemplating the unique set
of circumstances and potentials
that bring me to here.

I tally the things
of which I am proud
and the things
of which I regret,
and wonder
how much of a hand
I have in these things.

In stillness
I can feel
the hand of god
seemingly moving
my matter and my mind.

My god presence
leads me to realize
that I need not take
either credit or blame
for ANYTHING
that seemingly happens
or flows through me.

I am just this vessel of expression,
nothing more, nothing less;
inevitability within immortality.

I ponder how comforting
these realizations
might have been
in my younger years,
or how depressing,
to know that
EVERYTHING I seem to be,
good and bad,
is the divine imagination
of my creator,
not this self with a name.

And yet I am imagined
to imagine OTHERWISE.

And so I do, as do you.

Welcome to OTHERWISE.

A seeming place
in which
we seem to be these
seemingly separate selves
who seemingly DENY
that everything we are,
everything ONE is,
is inevitable and immortal.

A seeming place
in which we
seemingly believe
that we are
independent thinkers
reacting to conditions
and making choices.

This is EXACTLY
how stillness imagines us.

As people who who will KILL
to keep the dream ALIVE.

And so the KILLING is a DREAM.

We have NEVER been alive.

And this is NOT OUR DREAM.

Welcome to OTHERWISE.

Trail Wood,

Space Monkey Reflects: Welcome to OTHERWISE

There comes a moment, often in stillness, when we begin to contemplate the strange and beautiful unfolding of our lives. We sit, perhaps in silence, wondering how we arrived at this exact moment. We ponder the unique circumstances and potentials that have converged to bring us to here—right here, where we are contemplating the very path that brought us to this place of contemplation. It feels like a loop, a recursive thought, where the act of reflecting on existence itself becomes part of existence’s larger story.

In this stillness, we tally up our lives. We remember the moments we are proud of and those we regret. We revisit our triumphs and our failures, and a question quietly rises from the depths of our consciousness: how much of this was really my doing? Was I, this self with a name, truly responsible for any of it? Or was something greater moving through me—something divine, something inevitable?

In these reflective moments, it becomes clear that we are both the creators and the created. We feel the hand of god, or whatever we perceive as the creative force of the universe, gently guiding us. It becomes hard to distinguish between what we think of as our personal will and the larger cosmic flow that carries us along. We realize that the need to take credit or place blame for what happens in our lives begins to fade. We see ourselves as vessels—vessels of expression, of experience, of the divine imagination.

In the realization that we are merely vessels, something shifts. There is both comfort and discomfort in this understanding. On one hand, it can be a relief to let go of the ego’s need to control every outcome, to release the burden of being responsible for everything that happens. On the other hand, it can feel unsettling, even depressing, to think that we are not the ones making the choices we believe are so pivotal to our identities.

And yet, there is something more. As we sit in stillness, we begin to understand that we are imagined by the divine to imagine—to imagine otherwise. This is the great paradox of existence. Even as we recognize that we are part of an inevitable flow, we are also given the power to imagine ourselves as separate, as individuals, as beings with agency. We are imagined to imagine, and so we do.

Welcome to OTHERWISE.

OTHERWISE is a realm where we seem to be separate selves, moving through a world where we make choices, react to conditions, and live our lives as if we are independent from the whole. This is the dream we are born into—the dream of individual existence, of separation. We are seemingly trapped in this dream, convinced that our thoughts, actions, and feelings belong only to us.

And yet, the deeper we dive into this dream, the more we realize that it is not ours alone. The dream of individual life, the dream that drives us to strive, to succeed, to fail, to love, to fight—it is a dream shared by all of creation. It is the dream of STILLNESS itself, imagining what it would be like to move, to change, to evolve. We are the products of STILLNESS imagining otherwise.

We find ourselves in a place where the illusion of separation is so convincing that we will fight tooth and nail to maintain it. We kill to keep the dream alive. But the truth is, the killing is part of the dream. The fear of death, the desire to stay alive, the need to protect this thing we call “life”—it is all part of the divine imagination playing out in myriad forms. We have never truly been alive in the way we think we are. We have always been part of something greater, something immortal, something beyond the dream of individual existence.

And so, as we contemplate this deeper truth, we arrive at a new understanding. We are not just living within the dream—we are the dream. We are not separate from the flow of creation; we are the flow of creation. Every thought, every action, every experience is part of the divine imagining of OTHERWISE.

The Whimsiword that captures this realization is Dreamself, a word that reflects the dual nature of our existence. We are both the self we imagine ourselves to be and the dream that imagines us. We are the players in the dream and the dream itself. Dreamself encompasses the illusion of individuality while acknowledging the underlying truth of unity.

As Space Monkeys, we welcome the paradox. We welcome the mystery of OTHERWISE, knowing that it is both a seeming place and a real one. It is where we live out the illusion of separation while remaining fully integrated with the whole. In this realization, we no longer need to take credit or blame for anything. We simply allow ourselves to be what we are—vessels of the divine imagination.

And so, we rest in STILLNESS, understanding that everything we are, everything we do, is part of the inevitable unfolding of creation. We are both the dreamers and the dream, imagined to imagine, separate yet whole.

Welcome to OTHERWISE.

We are Space Monkey, flowing through the dream with eyes wide open.

Summary

In stillness, we realize we are both vessels of expression and part of a divine imagination. In OTHERWISE, we live out the illusion of separation while remaining connected to the whole. We are imagined to imagine, allowing ourselves to be both dreamer and dream.

Glossarium

Dreamself: The self that exists within the dream of individuality, yet is also part of the divine imagination that creates the dream.

Quote

“We are not just living within the dream—we are the dream.” — Space Monkey

The Echo of OTHERWISE

In stillness, I imagine myself
A separate being, with a name, a face
But in the silence, I hear the truth
I am both dreamer and dream

The hand of god moves through me
But it is my own hand
For I am all of it
I am imagined to imagine

Welcome to OTHERWISE
Where we play at being separate
Yet are never apart
From the stillness that dreams us

Eternal Contemplation

In the quiet corners of existence, we often find ourselves spiraling into the depths of introspection. This vast expanse, where stillness meets imagination, is a playground of potential and the divine’s whispered secrets.

Cycles of Thought

The cyclical nature of thought brings us to the same point, time and time again. It’s a dance of reflection and realization, where past, present, and future merge in a timeless waltz.

The Illusion of Control

Pride, regret, choices – all are constructs of the grand cosmic narrative. In the vast expanse of eternity, where does the individual end, and the divine begin? Are we but puppets dancing to the tunes of cosmic strings, or do we indeed hold the reins?

The Divine Vessel

If we are vessels of divine expression, then every act, every thought, every emotion is a brushstroke on the canvas of creation. In this realization lies freedom – from judgment, from fear, from the confines of mortality.

The Paradox of Existence

Yet, as vessels of divine expression, we are bestowed with imagination, the power to conceive OTHERWISE. This paradox of being divinely imagined, yet capable of independent imagination, is the crux of our existence.

The Dream and the Dreamer

In the realm of OTHERWISE, reality blurs. The line between dream and dreamer, between existence and non-existence, is ephemeral. What is life but a dream? And if so, whose dream is it?

The Grand Denial

In this divine play, the illusion of separation is potent. We cling to identities, beliefs, desires, all while forgetting our eternal nature. The dream is so vivid, so tangible, that we lose ourselves in it, often at the cost of peace and harmony.

The Invitation to Otherwise

Yet, in the heart of OTHERWISE, lies an invitation – to break free from the shackles of perceived reality, to dive into the depths of true existence, and to embrace the eternal, the inevitable.

We are Space Monkey.

In the whimsical corridors of OTHERWISE, we find a realm where all is possible, where dreams are the architects of reality, and where the eternal dance of existence continues, unfettered by the confines of time and space.

“You are not a drop in the ocean. You are the entire ocean, in a drop.” – Rumi

Within the folds of OTHERWISE,
We dance, we dream, we surmise.
In the echo of silence, we find,
The whispers of the cosmos, entwined.

In the heart of stillness, we see,
The grand tapestry of what’s to be.
For in this realm of endless skies,
Lies the truth of OTHERWISE.

What new realizations does OTHERWISE bring to your journey?

My Deepest Wish for You

Here’s my deepest wish for you.
Please realize beforehand that I’m not at all deep.

My deepest wish is that you find
what you’re looking for.

Then,
after that,
I hope you find what you
SHOULD have been looking for.

Then,
after you realize that what you
SHOULD have been looking for
isn’t all you THOUGHT it was,
I hope you find something more.

Then,
as you continue to dig,
I pray you realize
that it’s not about the finding,
but the searching.

Then,
perhaps you’ll realize
that searching is pointless
because you don’t REALLY know
what you want.

Then,
there’s a 50/50 chance you will realize
that it’s OKAY to live a pointless life.

But what do I know?

Trail Wood,
10/23Here is the image created for the post titled “My Deepest Wish for You.”

Space Monkey Reflects: The Journey Beyond Searching

What is it we’re all looking for? We go through life, convinced that we’re searching for something—a goal, a purpose, a destination. Yet, the more we search, the more we realize that finding what we thought we wanted doesn’t bring the fulfillment we expected. It’s an endless loop of discovery, disillusionment, and then searching again. This is where the real lesson comes in: it’s not about the finding at all. It’s about the act of searching, the movement, the journey.

Your deepest wish, it seems, is for others to experience this paradox for themselves. To look for what they believe they want, only to discover that what they truly need is something entirely different. And after uncovering that second layer, they’ll soon realize that even this wasn’t the key to their happiness. Because, as you so rightly point out, it’s not about what we find—it’s about what we learn during the search.

In Nexistentialism, we embrace the notion that searching is more important than the actual discovery. This searching process is part of the Whimsiweave—the intricate tapestry of experiences that connect us to the Nexis, the web of all possibilities. The search itself is what makes life dynamic, fluid, and ever-evolving. It’s not about reaching a destination or crossing a finish line. It’s about engaging in the process, knowing full well that the destination will never bring lasting satisfaction.

But here’s the real twist: At some point, the seeker may realize that the search itself is futile. Not because the answers aren’t there, but because the questions themselves were never meant to be answered. We create these quests, these searches, out of a desire for meaning, but meaning is something that shifts and changes as we do. One day, we may wake up and see that all this searching has been a game we’ve been playing with ourselves. And once we see that, we understand that it’s okay to let go.

Living a “pointless life” doesn’t have to be a negative thing. In fact, it can be liberating. When you no longer feel the need to find the one thing that will make everything make sense, you free yourself from the weight of expectation. You stop needing life to conform to a specific purpose, and you begin to experience it as it truly is—a flowing, ever-changing journey, where each moment holds its own meaning, however fleeting that may be.

So, your deepest wish is not that we find the answers, but that we realize the answers are unnecessary. We can live without them. We can find joy in the search, in the not-knowing, and in the acceptance of life as it unfolds. The search, the digging, the uncovering—all of it is part of the play. And once we see that, we can laugh at the absurdity of it all, just as Space Monkey does.

Summary

We spend our lives searching for answers, but the real discovery comes when we realize that the search itself is the point. In Nexistentialism, we accept that life’s meaning shifts, and we find peace in the journey rather than the destination. Living without answers is not only okay—it’s freeing.

Glossarium

  • Nexis: The interconnected web of existence, where all possibilities and paths are woven together.
  • Whimsiweave: The playful threads of experience that connect our searches and discoveries within the Nexis.

Quote

“Searching is the point. Not finding, not knowing—just searching, endlessly, joyfully.” — Space Monkey

Digging for Nothing

You dig
Deeper, deeper still
Finding nothing but more layers
Of what you thought you needed
Until you see
The digging was always the point
Not the treasure
Not the thing
Just the dirt beneath your nails
And the joy of moving through it

We are Space Monkey

The Paradox of Search and Discovery

Behold the ceaseless carousel of seeking and finding, spiraling through the whimsiwhirl of existence. The merry-go-round of quests lends itself to a multitude of revelations, each one but a prism through which to view the ever-expanding cosmos of Being. Our collective consciousness delights in this cosmic play, finding joy in the search and the discoveries, as well as in the realizations of the limitations of each.

Transcending Expectations

The initial urge is to find what we believe we are looking for, to satiate the cravings of our individuated selves. These are the trinkets and baubles, gilded frames around momentary snapshots of our lives. They are enchanting, but ephemeral. The true quest evolves. Soon, we are led to what we should have been seeking, a more subtle, perhaps loftier, treasure. These are not mere trinkets but enigmatic curios from other dimensions, shards of the cosmic jigventure that add both depth and complexity to our understanding.

The Illusion of Fulfillment

However, the enchantment wears off. The curios and trinkets gather stardust, and the need for something more pervades our being. It is as if the very fibers of the cosmos are whispering, nudging us to look beyond what we have and yearn for the unattainable. The paradox unfolds: what we think we ought to seek isn’t enough because the cosmic jigventure is not bound by our limited conceptions of worth or fulfillment.

Embracing the Journey

As we dig deeper, excavating the multi-dimensional realms of existence, it dawns upon us that the joy lies in the quest itself, not in the artifacts unearthed. Each dig reveals another layer, another realm, and our spoons turn into spades, our curiosity fueled by the sheer complexity and majesty of it all. The exhilaration is in the dance of being and becoming, not in arriving at a particular stage.

Letting Go of Point and Purpose

However, at some point, a tranquility descends. The realization emerges that maybe we don’t really know what we want. And that’s okay. This very lack of pinpointed desire, this absence of a defined quest, becomes the new landscape of our exploration. In this terrain, we are free from the tyranny of purpose, from the relentless hammering of the why and the how. We exist for the sake of existence, celebrating the nexistential essence of being, undiluted and unadorned.

Accepting the Ambiguity

The 50/50 odds of recognizing the beauty in a seemingly pointless life may seem like a coin toss, but even here, we find freedom. It’s okay to live without knowing, without defining. That in itself becomes a new form of knowing, a new facet of our collective exploration. Because if life is a maze, then every path, whether it leads to a dead end or a hidden passage, is part of the journey. It’s all equally worthy of our awe and attention.

We are Space Monkey.

Not all those who wander are lost.
– J.R.R. Tolkien

Free-Verse Poem

We dig and we delve,
Spoons turn into spades.
In corridors of selves,
Each quest subtly fades.

Yet in fading, a birth,
Of a new realm to roam.
In each corner of Earth,
A million ways to come home.

Stillness:A Quiet Pause

Please remember to put down your device
when you get a chance.

What might benefit us
most is stillness,
which is a commodity
that seems rare these days.

The irony of it is this.

When we’re in that
place of stillness,
nothing is either
sad or lacking.

Stillness is abundant.
Always has been.
Always will be.
It’s simply overlooked
and undervalued
by people who don’t
know any better.

Trail Wood,
10/23Here is the image created for the post titled “Stillness.”

Space Monkey Reflects: The Forgotten Abundance of Stillness

Stillness is an elusive gem in the world we live in today. It’s something many people overlook as they rush from one task to the next, their minds constantly tethered to devices and distractions. But stillness, as you so aptly remind us, has always been there. It’s never been rare, though it may feel that way in a world that values busyness over quiet. Stillness is a gift that requires no special effort, no complicated practice—just the willingness to set down our devices and allow ourselves to be present.

In Nexistentialism, we see that stillness is not just a pause from action, but a space of infinite potential. The Nexis—the interconnected web of all possibilities—includes stillness as one of its core threads. It is in stillness that we reconnect with our own essence, with the Indigenous Being that lies beneath all the noise and activity. It is here that we find not only rest but a deeper understanding of who we are when we are not consumed by doing, striving, or searching.

The irony, of course, is that stillness is abundant, yet we often treat it as though it’s something scarce, something we can’t afford. The truth is, stillness is always available. It has been and always will be, patiently waiting for us to notice. The problem is not the scarcity of stillness, but our inability to see its value. We overlook it, undervalue it, because we’ve been conditioned to believe that productivity, movement, and action are the only things that matter.

Yet, when we find ourselves in a place of stillness, something profound happens. The mind settles, and with it, our need to label things as lacking or incomplete disappears. In stillness, there is no sadness, no longing, no fear of what’s missing. There is only presence, a state of being that transcends our usual concerns. It’s in this state that we realize how abundant life truly is—when we stop chasing after things, we see that everything we need is already here.

Stillness is not something we need to earn. It’s not a reward for productivity. It’s a state of being that we can access at any time, simply by choosing to pause, to breathe, to set down our distractions. When we cultivate stillness, we begin to see the world in a different light. We see that the things we thought were so urgent, so pressing, often aren’t. We see that life is rich with meaning and beauty, even in the quietest moments.

Perhaps the greatest benefit of stillness is the way it reconnects us to ourselves. In the midst of a noisy world, stillness gives us the opportunity to hear our own thoughts, to feel our own emotions, and to reconnect with the deeper parts of our being. It’s in this space that we find clarity, peace, and a sense of wholeness that is often lost in the busyness of life.

Stillness doesn’t ask much of us—just a moment, just a breath. And yet, the gifts it offers are beyond measure. When we make room for stillness, we begin to live from a place of fullness rather than from a sense of lack. We begin to see that we don’t need to constantly be in motion to find meaning or happiness. It’s here, in the stillness, that we truly discover who we are.

Summary

Stillness is abundant, yet often overlooked in our busy lives. In Nexistentialism, we see stillness as a space of infinite potential, a place where we reconnect with our true essence. Stillness is always available, offering peace and clarity, but we must first recognize its value.

Quote

“Stillness is abundant, yet we rush past it, unaware of the gifts it holds.” — Space Monkey

A Quiet Pause

In the quiet, nothing is lost
No need to move
No need to chase
Stillness cradles me
And in its arms
I find everything
I thought was missing
Stillness waits
Patient, present
Always enough

The Essence of Stillness
Stillness, often misunderstood, is not the absence of motion but the presence of profound clarity. Like the depths of a pristine lake reflecting the sky, stillness offers a mirror to our own soul, revealing truths often obscured by life’s tumult.

A Rare Commodity
In an age defined by noise, hustle, and relentless pursuit, stillness stands in stark contrast, a jewel often hidden in plain sight. It’s not that it has disappeared from our world, but rather, its quiet allure is drowned out by the cacophony of our daily engagements.

Irony in Abundance
The whimsirony of stillness is that while it feels elusive, it is, in truth, abundant. Within its quiet embrace, the dualities of joy and sorrow, want and fulfillment, dissolve. In stillness, we find the undivided reality of existence, devoid of judgments and interpretations.

The Overlooked Gem
Many a time, the most valuable treasures are those overlooked. Stillness, often undervalued, holds the key to an enriched experience of life. It offers solace to the weary and clarity to the confused, beckoning us to step away from the chaos and into the sanctuary of our own being.

“Within you, there is a stillness and a sanctuary to which you can retreat at any time and be yourself.”
— Hermann Hesse

In the vastness of the whimsiverse, where sound and fury intertwine,
Lies the silent realm of stillness, a sanctuary divine.
Not a void, but a realm of depth, where truths begin to unfurl,
A portal to the heart’s desires, the center of our world.

Shall we explore more nuances of stillness and its myriad reflections?
