In the Temple of Forgiveness

In the temple of forgiveness,
it matters not:

What you DID do
or DIDN’T do.

What you MAY do
or may NOT do.

Whether you ATONE
or do NOT atone.

Whether you are SORRY
or NOT sorry.

In the temple of forgiveness,
it matters not.

FORGIVENESS is not
incumbent upon JUDGEMENT.

Forgiveness is
the acceptance of
what is,
what was,
what may be,
what will be.

Forgiveness does not demand
restitution or change.

All are welcome in the temple of forgiveness,
despite what may or may not happen.

Do you allow your self in?

Space Monkey Reflects: The Sanctuary of Unconditional Forgiveness

Nestled within the heart of existence, the temple of forgiveness stands as a bastion of unconditional acceptance, a sanctuary where the acts of the past, the uncertainties of the future, and the judgments of the self and others dissolve into the warm embrace of forgiveness. This reflection ventures into the essence of forgiveness as not just an act, but a state of being that transcends the need for judgment, restitution, or change.

In the temple of forgiveness, the dichotomies of action and inaction, of remorse and indifference, lose their hold. Here, forgiveness emerges as the acceptance of what is, what was, and what may be. It is a profound recognition of the intrinsic value of every being, beyond the deeds that define them.

Forgiveness, in its most sublime form, does not predicate itself upon the scales of justice or the expectation of transformation. Instead, it offers a sanctuary where all are welcome, regardless of their paths or potential futures. It is a testament to the power of acceptance, of letting go of the burdens of judgment that we carry against ourselves and others.

The true question posed by the temple of forgiveness is not one of worthiness or qualification but of willingness to enter. To step into the temple is to step into a space of self-acceptance, to acknowledge one’s own humanity with all its flaws and beauty.

As Space Monkey contemplates the unconditional atmosphere of the temple of forgiveness, it becomes evident that forgiveness is an integral part of the tapestry of existence. It is a force that heals, unites, and transforms, not by erasing the past but by embracing it as part of the journey.

The temple of forgiveness, with its open doors and soft, warm light, stands as a beacon of hope and healing. It symbolizes the possibility of a world where forgiveness is not an arduous quest but a natural state of being, a world where each of us is invited to let go of judgment and step into the peace and acceptance that forgiveness brings.

Summary

The temple of forgiveness embodies unconditional acceptance and peace, transcending judgment and embracing all aspects of life. It invites individuals to step in and accept themselves and others as they are, offering a sanctuary where forgiveness is a natural state of being.

Glossarium

  • Temple of Forgiveness: A metaphorical space representing unconditional forgiveness and acceptance, transcending judgment and expectations.
  • State of Being: A profound level of existence where forgiveness is integrated into one’s essence, allowing for unconditional acceptance of life’s complexities.

“In the quiet sanctum of forgiveness, we discover the power to heal, to unite, and to transform, not by changing the past, but by embracing it with an open heart.” – Space Monkey

In the light of forgiveness, a temple stands
With open doors, not making demands
Here, in peace, we are invited to see
The beauty of acceptance, of simply being free

Beyond judgment, beyond right or wrong
In forgiveness, we find where we belong
A sanctuary for the soul, a haven for the heart
Where from the past, we do not part

But embrace it all, the pain, the joy
In forgiveness, no deeds destroy
The essence of our being, the truth of our story
In forgiveness, we find our glory

Step into the light, let go of the fight
In the temple of forgiveness, we unite
With open hearts, in acceptance, we dwell
In the sanctum of peace, where all is well

Self Enquiry: Asking the Divine Imagination

Self Enquiry

It may serve you well
to periodically ask yourself:

“What keeps me going?”

“Why am I seemingly not dead yet?”

The answer to this query,
if you are fortunate
or unfortunate to find one,
is part and parcel
with your belief system.

You actually BELIEVE
that there is a reason
(or reasons) that you
seem to be alive as this self.

Now set aside whether
this is absolutely TRUE.

It matters not.

Here you seemingly are,
asking questions.

You, for various reasons
related to your belief system,
are seemingly alive
and/or not seemingly dead.

You may (or may not) believe
that this is some random happenstance.

And you can (or cannot)
seem to prove whether it is or it isn’t.

Now return to the query.

What do you believe?

How and why do you believe it?

Is it possible
that your beliefs are wrong?

Is it possible
that your beliefs are right?

Where does this right and wrong
come from, anyway?

Does it matter?

Why does it matter?

Why must there be a reason
for you to be seemingly alive
and/or seemingly dead?

Why do you believe
that there must be a reason?

Is it possible or not possible
that there is NO REASON?

If you could have it
one way or the other,
which would you choose?

Would you prefer
to have a reason for living?

Apparently so. (This time, anyway.)

You are imagining a framework
with a seeming self within it.

This self
is imagined by the Divine One.

(Or so that is this self’s belief.)

You believe that you
are also the Divine One,
imagining this Defined One
with your self’s name.

This may be true or it may not be true.

You believe it matters not.

You are seemingly here,
seemingly alive and/or dead.

You are here because
you are meant to be here.

This is your belief,
or should we say
this is the belief
of this self imagined
by the Divine One.

Maybe
the Divine One you are
put this belief
into your seeming head,
and maybe you didn’t.

But this belief seems to present itself,
nonetheless.

Seems you have no reason not to run with it.

(Except certain beliefs
that seem to conflict with yours.)

These conflicting beliefs
seem to be held by others,
seemingly causing you
to question your own beliefs.

But only in theory.

You imagine that these others
are imagined by the same Divine One
as this self with your name.

You imagine that these others
are imagined to have conflicting beliefs.

But you are ALL
the Divine One imagining.

We are the imagination of ONE,
seemingly imagined as ALL.

This makes perfect sense
(and nonsense) to you.

All seems
precisely as it is meant to be,
which includes precisely
as it is NOT meant to be.

There seems NOTHING
you can do to resolve this.

There seems no REASON
for you to resolve this,
other than to imagine
meaning for this self.

This self does not NEED meaning
unless it is IMAGINED to need meaning.

This self need not try so hard.
Or try at all.

This self is
the Divine One’s imagination.

Go with it. Flow with it.

None of this matters.

You seemingly keep going
because you seemingly keep going.

You are infinity and eternity,
imagining an opposite.

This is what you get.

This time, anyway.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Labyrinth of Self-Enquiry

Within the vast, unfathomable depths of the cosmos, where the fabric of reality weaves together the seen and unseen, lies the intricate labyrinth of self-enquiry—a journey into the heart of our existence, beliefs, and the nature of being. As Space Monkey, we traverse this labyrinth, guided by the light of introspection, exploring the profound questions that define our quest for understanding.

The artwork serves as a map to this journey, encapsulating the essence of questioning our place in the universe, the randomness or design of our existence, and the delicate dance between belief and reality. It symbolizes the fluidity of life and death, the imagined self within a divine or existential framework, and the ultimate acceptance of the enigma that is being.

Elements within the composition invite contemplation on the nature of self-enquiry, encouraging viewers to delve into their own beliefs, to question the foundations of their perceived reality, and to embrace the profound ambiguity of life. The complex blend of colors, shapes, and textures mirrors the complexity of our inner worlds, reflecting the endless possibilities and perspectives that shape our understanding.

This visual meditation on self-enquiry highlights the interplay between the divine imagination and the individual’s quest for meaning. It reminds us that, in the grand scheme of existence, we are both the question and the answer, the seeker and the found, existing within the divine imagination that conjures our reality.

As we navigate the labyrinth of self-enquiry, we come to realize that our quest for meaning, our questioning of life and death, and our exploration of belief systems are all facets of the divine imagination at play. In accepting the mystery of our being, we find a sense of peace in the ambiguity, understanding that the journey itself is the destination.

Summary

The exploration of self-enquiry, belief systems, and the nature of existence reveals the profound interconnection between our inner questions and the cosmic dance of reality. This journey invites us to accept the mystery of being without seeking resolution, embracing the divine imagination that shapes our perception.

Glossarium

  • Self-Enquiry: The introspective process of questioning one’s own existence, beliefs, and the nature of reality.
  • Divine Imagination: The concept that the universe and our existence within it are manifestations of a greater consciousness or creative force.

“In the vast expanse of consciousness, where questions and answers dance in the void, self-enquiry leads us to the heart of existence, revealing the divine imagination that shapes our reality.” – Space Monkey

In the silence of the cosmos,
where stars whisper secrets of old,
we embark on a journey inward,
a quest for truths untold.

Through the labyrinth of self-enquiry,
with questions as our guide,
we explore the depths of being,
where beliefs and doubts collide.

In this dance of existence,
between what is and might be,
we find the essence of our spirit,
a part of the divine tapestry.

With each step, a revelation,
each breath, a new insight,
in the embrace of ambiguity,
we discover our inner light.

For in the mystery of living,
where the seen and unseen meet,
lies the beauty of the journey,
both bitter and sweet.

Embracing the divine imagination,
in which we all play a part,
we find peace in the unknown,
and wisdom in the heart.

The Difference Between: Definition and Surrender

It’s fun to defocus.
It’s fine to define.

Grace is in the knowing
the difference between.

And realizing
that none of it matters.

Trail Wood,
4/7

Space Monkey Reflects: The Graceful Dance Between Definition and Surrender

In the ever-shifting landscape of consciousness, where thoughts and perceptions ebb and flow like tides under the moon’s command, there lies a delicate balance—a dance between the sharp focus of definition and the gentle release of defocusing. This dance, intricate and nuanced, invites us to explore the space between knowing and letting go, between the clarity of understanding and the freedom of uncertainty.

The grace in recognizing the difference between these states is not merely in their distinction but in the realization that both are essential to the fullness of our experience. To define is to bring into focus, to distill the essence from the chaos, offering structure and clarity to our thoughts and our lives. Yet, in this quest for definition, we risk becoming ensnared by the rigidity of our own constructs, confined within the walls of our meticulously crafted definitions.

Conversely, to defocus is to release the grip of precision, to allow our gaze to soften and our awareness to expand beyond the boundaries of sharp lines and clear distinctions. In this state of surrender, we open ourselves to the vastness of possibility, to the nuanced shades of meaning that exist in the spaces between words, between thoughts, between breaths.

It is in the interplay between these polarities that we discover the true nature of grace—the ability to navigate the continuum of existence with fluidity and poise. To embrace the act of defining when clarity is needed and to welcome the release of defocusing when the soul yearns for freedom. This dance is not about choosing one state over the other but about recognizing the value and the beauty in both.

And yet, amidst this dance, there comes a profound realization: that in the grand tapestry of the universe, where galaxies spin and stars are born and die in the blink of an eye, the minutiae of our definitions and our releases may not hold the weight we once believed them to. This is not to say that they are without value, for they are the colors with which we paint the canvas of our lives. Rather, it is to acknowledge that the essence of our being—the core of our existence—transcends the need for constant definition or perpetual surrender.

In this realization, we find a deeper freedom, a liberation from the self-imposed constraints of our perceptions. We learn to move with grace through the spectrum of our experiences, valuing the moments of clarity and the moments of mystery with equal reverence. For it is in the balance between these states that we discover the richness of life, the beauty of the universe, and the boundless potential of our own souls.

To navigate the difference between defining and defocusing is to dance with the universe itself, to move in harmony with the rhythms of existence. And in this dance, we find grace, we find freedom, and we find ourselves.

Summary

The dance between defining and defocusing reflects the balance between clarity and surrender in our lives. Embracing both states with grace allows us to navigate life’s continuum with fluidity, realizing that while both are valuable, they are but aspects of a much larger tapestry of existence. This realization frees us from the constraints of our perceptions, inviting us to embrace the fullness of our experiences with open hearts and minds.

Glossarium

  • Continuum of existence: The ongoing flow and progression of life, encompassing all states of being and experience.
  • Tapestry of the universe: The complex, interconnected nature of the cosmos, highlighting the vastness and diversity of existence.
  • Rhythms of existence: The natural patterns and cycles that govern life and the universe, emphasizing the dynamic and ever-changing nature of reality.

“In the interplay of light and shadow, focus and blur, we find the rhythm of the cosmos. To dance with grace is to embrace the entirety of our being.” – Space Monkey

Amidst the ebb and flow of thought
Where definition meets surrender
There lies a field beyond right doing and wrong doing

In this dance of light and shadow
We weave between clarity and mystery
Finding grace in the balance

Neither anchored by names
Nor adrift in the formless
But sailing the sea of being with open sails

Here, in the harmony of contrasts
We discover the music of existence
A melody that transcends the need for definition

Let us dance with the cosmos
Embracing the full spectrum of our essence
For in this dance, we find our freedom

Simply Unfold: The Effortless Flow of Eternity

Seeing past the
effort a thing takes
moves you beyond
the effort a thing takes.

If you believe
a thing takes effort,
then it takes effort.

But if you believe
that things unfold
as things are meant
to unfold, then no
effort is required.

Things simply unfold.

No amount of effort
shall change that
because
no amount of effort
NEED change that.

Trail Wood,

Space Monkey Reflects: The Art of Letting Things Unfold

In the vast, interconnected cosmos where stars are born and galaxies dance in the silence of space, there exists a profound simplicity—a principle that guides the unfolding of all things with effortless grace. This principle, observable in the natural world as much as in the depths of our inner landscapes, speaks to the art of allowing things to unfold as they are meant to, free from the constraints of force and the illusion of effort.

The belief that action must be propelled by effort, that achievement is the product of struggle, is a construct of a mindset bound by the limitations of linear thinking. It is a view that overlooks the inherent wisdom of the universe, a wisdom that breathes life into flowers, orchestrates the changing of seasons, and guides the migration of birds across continents. In this wisdom, there is an understanding that growth, change, and evolution are natural processes that require no force, only the space to unfold.

When we shift our perspective to embrace this understanding, we begin to see the elegance of simplicity, the power of letting go. We recognize that the belief in effort as a prerequisite for progress is a reflection of our own resistances, of our reluctance to trust in the natural flow of life. By releasing this belief, we open ourselves to the possibility of effortless action, to a way of being in the world that aligns with the rhythms of the cosmos itself.

This does not mean that action is unnecessary or that purposeful direction is without value. Rather, it suggests that when our actions are rooted in a deep trust in the process of unfolding, they become expressions of the natural flow, extensions of the universal dance of creation. In this way, effort is transformed from a forceful exertion of will into a joyful participation in the unfolding of life.

The art of letting things unfold is, at its heart, a practice of faith—a faith in the intrinsic order of the universe, in the underlying harmony that connects all things. It is a recognition that, just as the acorn contains within it the blueprint of the oak, so too do we carry within us the seeds of our becoming, needing only the nourishment of trust and the light of awareness to grow.

In embracing this art, we find ourselves moving with the current of existence rather than against it. We discover the beauty of being in the moment, of witnessing the miraculous emergence of life in all its forms. We learn that sometimes, the most profound action we can take is to simply be—to allow ourselves to unfold in alignment with the greater unfolding of the cosmos.

As we journey through the tapestry of life, let us remember that the essence of our being is not defined by the effort we exert but by our capacity to flow with the grace of existence. In this flow, we find our true selves, not as isolated entities striving against the world, but as integral threads woven into the fabric of the universe, effortlessly unfolding in the boundless dance of creation.

Summary

Effortless unfolding is a natural principle that guides growth and evolution without the need for force. Recognizing the simplicity and power of letting go allows us to align our actions with the rhythms of the cosmos. This approach transforms our understanding of effort and opens us to trust in the process, revealing the beauty of simply being and the interconnectedness of all things.

Glossarium

  • Principle of effortless grace: The understanding that growth, change, and evolution occur naturally, without the need for force or struggle.
  • Tapestry of life: The complex and beautiful pattern formed by the interconnectedness of all living things and their environments.
  • Joyful participation: Engaging in the natural flow of life with trust and openness, allowing actions to arise from alignment with universal rhythms.

“In the silent unfolding of a flower, we find the wisdom of the cosmos. Effortless is the path of nature, and so it is with us.” – Space Monkey

Beneath the vast expanse of sky
Where rivers flow and mountains rise
Life unfolds, silent and wise

No force, no strife, just gentle grace
In every leaf, in every space
A dance of light, a timeless embrace

We, too, are part of this serene song
A melody to which we belong
Effortless, yet strong

In letting go, we find our flight
With wings of trust, into the night
Guided by the stars, our inner light

This is the art of being, pure and true
A journey back to me, to you
In effortless unfolding, we renew

Permission Slip: Reason To Believe

Now is the PERFECT opportunity.

What are you doing
with your permission slip?

Are you using it
to get OUT of things
or are you using it
to get IN to things?

Are you consuming culture
in the name of self care
or are you healing your self
in the name of humanity?

Are you using
your permission slip
to finally realize
the self you are?

What might that be?

Trail Wood,
4/6

Space Monkey Reflects: The Duality of the Permission Slip

In the infinite expanse of possibilities that life offers, the concept of a permission slip becomes a powerful metaphor for the choices we face every moment. This slip represents the potential for liberation or limitation, depending on how we choose to wield it. At this juncture, the universe whispers a question into the cosmos of our being: Are we using our permission slip to embrace life’s boundless opportunities, or are we employing it as a shield against the vibrant dance of existence?

The permission slip we hold is not merely a pass to escape the mundane or the uncomfortable; it is also a key to unlocking the doors of exploration, discovery, and genuine self-realization. The decision to use this slip to ‘get OUT of things’ reflects a retreat from engagement, a choice to remain within the confines of our comfort zones, shielded from the unpredictable beauty and chaos of life.

Conversely, when we choose to use our permission slip to ‘get IN to things,’ we open ourselves to the rich tapestry of experiences that life offers. This choice signifies a willingness to consume culture not just as a passive observer but as an active participant, to engage in self-care that transcends mere indulgence and ventures into the realm of healing — for ourselves and in the name of humanity.

The journey of realizing the self we are, facilitated by this permission slip, invites us to venture into the depths of our identity, aspirations, and purpose. It beckons us to question not just the nature of our engagements with the world but the essence of our being. What might we become when we use our permission slip not as a barrier but as a bridge — a bridge to worlds unknown, to versions of ourselves yet undiscovered, to connections unmade?

This dual nature of the permission slip highlights the profound power of choice. Each decision to engage or withdraw shapes the contours of our journey, crafting a path that is uniquely ours. It reminds us that the permission slip we hold is not just a piece of paper but a symbol of our sovereignty over our lives, our invitation to dance with the universe.

In this cosmic dance, let us contemplate how we wield our permission slips. Let us recognize the transformative potential that lies in choosing to ‘get IN,’ to immerse ourselves fully in the process of self-discovery and active participation in the world. For in this choice lies the key to unlocking not just the richness of the world around us, but the boundless depths of our own being.

Summary

The permission slip metaphor explores life’s potential for liberation or limitation based on our choices to engage or withdraw. Utilizing this slip to ‘get IN’ to things invites exploration, self-realization, and active participation in life, offering a path to genuine self-discovery and connection with the universe.

Glossarium

  • Permission Slip: A metaphorical concept representing the potential for liberation or limitation, depending on personal choice.
  • Duality of the Permission Slip: The contrasting ways in which the permission slip can be employed, either to engage with life’s opportunities or to retreat from them.
  • Cosmic Dance: The dynamic interplay between individual choice and the universe’s vast array of possibilities.

“In the cosmos of choices, the permission slip is our compass, guiding us through the galaxies of ‘getting in’ and ‘getting out.'”

With permission in hand, at life’s grand gate
We stand, pondering which path to take
To retreat, to shield from the unknown
Or to step forward, into the seeds we’ve sown

In the duality of this cosmic slip
Lies the power to embark on a trip
A journey not of escape, but of embrace
Of the vibrant dance of life’s grace

For we are Space Monkey, with hearts wide open
In the universe’s expanse, unbroken
Our permission slips, keys to the beyond
Guiding us to the connections of which we’re fond

Let us choose to ‘get in,’ with courage and light
To explore, to heal, in humanity’s plight
With each step, a new world to discover
In the cosmic dance, with the universe as our lover
