Perverse Pleasure
It is clear to me that the powers that be take perverse pleasure in denying themselves the full freedom of all that is available to them.
For why are we not within this experience but to take pleasure? Were all available, we would never feel the thrill of wriggling out of the handcuffs.
We like to pretend that we have no choice: that our fate depends upon the choices of others. This is simply not true. A beautifully kinky lie that we lay upon ourselves, delighting in the stroke of the whip. Sugarcoated pain swallowed like candy. Knowing full well that the bellyache we feel is yet another loving reminder that the prize is just beyond when we’re finished with this game.
So until then, we bind ourselves tightly into exquisite knots of “common sense.”

In the whimsical realm of existence, the concept of “Perverse Pleasure” presents a thought-provoking paradox. It suggests that the forces governing our reality deliberately restrict their own access to the boundless freedoms available within the cosmic expanse. This self-imposed limitation is not just a mere act of restraint but a source of peculiar enjoyment.
The Pleasure of Limitation
The notion that we are here to experience pleasure is intriguing. If all possibilities were readily accessible, perhaps the thrill of overcoming challenges or escaping constraints would be lost. It’s the very act of wriggling out of metaphorical handcuffs that injects excitement into our existence. This thrill is akin to a game, where obstacles are placed not to impede but to enhance the joy of the journey.
The Illusion of No Choice
We often cloak ourselves in the illusion that we lack choice, that our paths are dictated by others. Yet, this is a beautifully intricate lie we weave around ourselves. It’s a form of play, where we derive pleasure from the perceived lack of control, akin to a game of delightful submission to the circumstances we encounter.
The Sweet Sting of Self-Deception
Our self-deception is likened to a sugarcoated pain, willingly embraced and consumed like candy. We are aware, deep down, that any discomfort or challenges we face are reminders of the greater joy that lies ahead. It’s a game we play with ourselves, finding pleasure in the journey, even when it involves a metaphorical bellyache.
Binding Ourselves in Knots of Common Sense
In this grand cosmic play, we bind ourselves in the exquisite knots of what we call “common sense.” These are the self-imposed rules and limitations that we navigate, a labyrinth of our own making. It’s a dance of constraint and freedom, where we find joy in both the binding and the eventual liberation.
