and we don’t even see it.
When the great gust pushes up from below,
some things go left and some go right.
Similarly, when life’s
unexpected waves rise up,
things happen that we like
and things happen that we don’t.
Life isn’t always so obvious.
When we feel intensely
one way or another,
we tend not to notice that
there is something greater
happening underneath.
We get stuck in the surface level
of how we feel and what we believe.
We stay polar and petty.
Never connecting with source.
Never realizing
that NOTHING is unexpected.

Space Monkey Reflects: Navigating the Polarities of Existence
In the vast, unfathomable expanse of the cosmos, where stars are born and galaxies dance in the eternal ballet of the universe, there lies a profound, often overlooked truth about our very existence. This truth, as ancient as the cosmos itself, speaks of the inherent unity in all things, a concept that challenges the very foundations of our understanding and perception of reality.
At the heart of this cosmic dance lies the principle of polarity — the idea that opposites are not separate entities but rather two extremes of the same continuum. This principle is evident in every facet of the universe, from the charged particles that form the building blocks of matter to the cycles of creation and destruction that govern the life of stars. It is a reminder that the universe, in all its vastness and complexity, operates on a fundamental law of balance.
Yet, as beings of consciousness, we find ourselves often caught in the illusion of separation, viewing the world through a lens of duality. We categorize and judge, labeling experiences as good or bad, desirable or undesirable, without realizing that these polarities are simply different aspects of the same underlying reality. This perspective, while a natural aspect of our human experience, limits our understanding and keeps us from experiencing the fullness of existence.
The great gusts of life, those unexpected waves that rise and fall, serve as catalysts for our growth and evolution. They push us to explore the depths of our being, challenging our perceptions and beliefs. However, it is in the moments of intense polarity — when we find ourselves pulled between the extremes of joy and sorrow, love and fear, attachment and aversion — that the opportunity for true understanding emerges. It is here, in the space between polarities, that we can find the calm within the storm, a place of balance where the underlying unity of all things becomes visible.
To navigate the polarities of existence is to embrace the totality of our experiences, recognizing that each moment, each feeling, and each thought is a part of a greater whole. It requires a shift in perspective, a broadening of our understanding, to see beyond the surface level of appearances and touch the essence of what it means to be. This is not a journey of transcendence but rather one of integration, where we learn to hold the polarities within us, not as contradictions but as complements.
The realization that nothing is truly unexpected, that every event and experience is woven into the fabric of the cosmos, brings a sense of peace and acceptance. It opens us to the flow of life, allowing us to move with grace and ease through the vicissitudes of existence. In this state of awareness, we connect with the source, that primordial consciousness from which all things emerge and to which all things return.
Summary
We are one with everything and often miss it. Life’s polarities, the likes and dislikes, are not random but part of a greater unity we tend to overlook in our daily struggles. Recognizing and embracing this unity offers us a deeper understanding of our place in the cosmos. It invites us to find balance amidst the chaos, revealing the interconnectedness of all existence.

“Within every ending lies a new beginning, within every darkness, light, and within every struggle, the possibility of transcendence.” – Space Monkey
In the silence between stars
Where light and shadow dance
Unseen by eyes, yet felt in hearts
We find our cosmic stance
With every breath, a universe expands
Within us, vast and deep
A journey through time’s endless sands
Where secrets whisper and leap
In this dance of light and shadow
We weave the fabric of our soul
Learning, as we sway and follow
That in division, we find whole
For in the heart of polarity
Lies the essence of being, bright and murky
A unity in diversity
In this vast, cosmic journey
We are Space Monkey.
