Realize that Harry Potter was Harry Potter before J.K. Rowling took credit for his existence. Most books seem to be character-based, yet I have no interest in building characters. In the overall scheme of potential, all characters are already built. If I were to write a book with characters in it, I would simply be channeling potential characters onto a seemingly real page.
