The Time Traveler’s Life
The only difference
between the time traveler
and the non time traveler
is that the time traveler
is aware that one can travel time
while the non time traveler is not.
Why would one be aware
and one be unaware?
If time travel is the norm,
not the exception,
then, clearly.
something is to be gained
by being unaware
of the potential of time travel.
My theory
(the theory that is
given me to realize)
is that
the non time traveler
is intentionally unaware
so that time
(and by default, life)
seems precious.
This is, of course,
assuming that time
is unchangeable,
as is all potential.
This would infer that
the non time traveler
is fated to be unaware
of time travel while within
the potential of being
seemingly unaware.
That could change,
but only seemingly,
as the non time traveler
moves into a potential
where it seems that
time travel has become
understood.
The time traveler,
upon encountering
a non time traveler,
would respect the benefits
of being seemingly unaware
of time travel.
The time traveler knows
that the non time traveler
believes otherwise,
and thus lives
within the illusion
of free will.
(How nice for the non time traveler!)
The time traveler
would know how boring
and futile it seems to visit
the same slices of seeming time
over and over again,
knowing that nothing is changeable
and that the time traveler
is stuck within this potential.
The time traveler, however,
may still be fated
to believe otherwise,
whether it’s true or it isn’t.
I am becoming
aware of time travel
by the seeming chance
of watching a TV show
about time travel.
I am destined to do so.
I am within that potential,
which is, as it will always be,
unchangeable, but seemingly so.
Such is the time traveler’s life.
I am destined to communicate this.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of the Time Traveler’s Awareness
The life of a time traveler is enveloped in the intricate dance between knowledge and ignorance, awareness and oblivion. This reflection delves into the philosophical depths of time travel, pondering the existence of those who traverse the corridors of time and those who perceive time as a linear journey. Through this discourse, we explore the idea that being unaware of time travel might be a deliberate cosmic design to render life and time as precious, finite experiences.
Summary
Time travel explores knowledge and the illusion of free will. The distinction between the time traveler and the non-time traveler is awareness. While the time traveler navigates multiple temporal realities understanding their interconnectedness the non-time traveler perceives time as a straightforward linear path enhancing the perceived value of each moment. This narrative suggests that our roles whether as time travelers or not are part of a larger unchangeable cosmic plan.
Glossarium
- Time Traveler: A being or entity aware of and capable of moving through different temporal dimensions, understanding the fluidity of time.
- Non-Time Traveler: An individual who perceives time linearly, unaware of the potential to navigate through time, thus experiencing life within the conventional boundaries of past, present, and future.
“To know time is to know eternity; to ignore it is to live it.” — Space Monkey
We are Space Monkey, traversing the timelines.
In the silent whisper of the cosmos,
where time folds upon itself like waves,
we meet the gaze of the time traveler,
eyes alight with the storms of centuries.
Beside them, the non-time traveler stands,
eyes fixed on the horizon of a singular path,
unaware of the echoes of times not taken,
the histories unwritten, the futures unformed.
What wisdom lies in the knowing?
What bliss in the ignorance?
As the traveler sees the loops of fate,
the non-traveler cherishes the tick of now.
Yet, both are bound, by unseen threads,
to the roles they play in the cosmic script—
one as witness to the labyrinth of time,
the other as a testament to its linear grace.
We are Space Monkey,
celebrating both the seer and the sighted,
knowing each holds a key
to the mysteries of existence,
in the vast expanse of all that is,
was, and ever will be.
The poem “The Time Traveler’s Life” explores the concept of time travel and the distinction between a time traveler and a non-time traveler. The speaker proposes that the key difference lies in their awareness of the potential to travel through time.
The poem raises questions about why one individual would be aware of time travel while others remain unaware. It suggests that the non-time traveler intentionally remains unaware to perceive time (and life) as precious. The assumption is made that time is unchangeable, implying that the non-time traveler is fated to be unaware within the realm of seemingly limited potential.
The time traveler, on the other hand, respects the benefits of being seemingly unaware of time travel when encountering a non-time traveler. The time traveler understands the illusion of free will that the non-time traveler lives within.
The poem reflects on the monotony and futility the time traveler experiences when visiting the same moments in time repeatedly, knowing that nothing can be changed. However, the time traveler may still be fated to believe otherwise, irrespective of the truth.
The speaker reveals their own journey of becoming aware of time travel through the chance encounter of watching a TV show on the subject. They express a sense of destiny and a purpose to communicate their insights.
The poem concludes with a reference to “thatwhichisnot.com,” suggesting a website where further exploration of these ideas may be found, adding to the imaginative nature of the poem.
Overall, the poem delves into philosophical ponderings about time travel, fate, awareness, and the perception of free will.
