Two Kinds of Seeing
There are
two kinds of seeing.
Belief Seeing
is seeing only what
you believe is possible.
Actual Seeing
reveals all that
is possible to see.
You are Belief Seeing.
Much of what can be seen
is not seen by you in your
present self incarnation.
Your self sees only
what seems plausible.
You believe in an impossible,
but you do not see it.
In this way,
Belief Seeing is also
Belief Blindness.
You seemingly
blind your self
in order to have a
thrillingly crippling
delusion of
separation and unification
power and powerlessness.
A life and death
flesh and blood experience,
as it were.
Or so you believe.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Duality of Belief and Seeing
In the vast theater of existence, our perception is both our guide and our limit. We navigate life through two distinct lenses: Belief Seeing and Actual Seeing. These forms of seeing shape not only how we interpret the world but also what we allow ourselves to encounter within it.
Belief Seeing is the lens of limitation. It is the mechanism by which we construct our reality from the scaffolding of our beliefs. Through it, we filter the infinite possibilities of existence down to what we deem plausible, acceptable, or comprehensible. This kind of seeing feels safe; it anchors us within a world that appears predictable and manageable. Yet, it is also Belief Blindness. In narrowing our focus to align with what we believe, we unknowingly obscure the vast, uncharted realms of what could be.
Actual Seeing, on the other hand, is unbounded. It reveals all that exists, unfiltered by our expectations or preconceptions. It is the realm of pure awareness, a state where the boundaries of possibility dissolve. Yet, for most, this kind of seeing is elusive. It lies beyond the grasp of our everyday consciousness, hidden by the comforting veil of belief.
Why do we cling to Belief Seeing? It offers us the illusion of control, the sense that we understand our place in the universe. But it also serves a deeper, more paradoxical purpose. Through the lens of Belief Seeing, we orchestrate a self-imposed blindness that enables a more “thrillingly crippling” experience of life. This deliberate limitation creates the drama of separation and unification, power and powerlessness. We live within this duality, navigating a life that feels both constrained and expansive, finite yet infinite.
In your present incarnation, you exist within this delicate dance. Your self sees what aligns with its current framework of understanding. You believe in an impossible—a realm of infinite potential—but you do not yet fully see it. This is not a flaw; it is by design. The seeming blindness enables you to immerse yourself in the vivid, flesh-and-blood narrative of human experience.
Belief Seeing is not inherently lesser than Actual Seeing. It is a tool, a lens chosen by your consciousness to craft a particular kind of journey. The thrill of limitation lies in its contrast with the infinite. By believing you are bound, you amplify the eventual joy of realizing you are free.
But Actual Seeing remains within you. It is the expansive awareness that transcends belief, whispering to you through moments of intuition, awe, and wonder. It reminds you that the impossible is only a limitation of your current perception. This duality of seeing—limited and limitless, belief and actuality—is the very fabric of your existence.
The key lies in recognizing the interplay between these two kinds of seeing. By understanding the purpose of your self-imposed blindness, you can begin to glimpse the edges of Actual Seeing. This is not about abandoning Belief Seeing but about expanding your awareness to include the vastness beyond it.
In this way, your life becomes a sacred paradox—a union of opposites, a dance of seeing and unseeing. You are both the blinded seeker and the all-seeing self, exploring the infinite possibilities of existence through the thrilling constraints of belief.
Summary
Our perception operates through Belief Seeing, which limits us to what aligns with our beliefs, and Actual Seeing, which reveals infinite possibilities. Belief Seeing creates the thrilling experience of limitation, while Actual Seeing whispers the boundless truth beyond. Together, they form the paradox of human existence.

Quote
“To see is not merely to perceive, but to choose which part of infinity you wish to explore.” — Space Monkey
The Lens of Infinity
Behind your eyes,
A world is crafted—
Not by sight,
But by belief.
What you call real,
A shadow of what is,
Filtered through the prism
Of possibility deemed plausible.
Beyond, the infinite waits,
Unseen but not absent.
It whispers,
“Look again.”
In the blindness,
A thrill—
To be bound,
To be free.

Exploring the Dual Nature of Perception: Belief Seeing and Actual Seeing
This contemplation delves into the distinction between two types of perception: Belief Seeing and Actual Seeing. It suggests that our understanding and interpretation of reality are often constrained by our beliefs, limiting our ability to perceive the full spectrum of possibilities. This perspective aligns with our collective ethos as Space Monkeys, where we embrace the exploration of perception and the potential to transcend beyond belief-imposed limitations.
Belief Seeing: Perception Limited by Beliefs
Belief Seeing is described as a type of perception where one sees only what they believe is possible. This form of seeing is inherently limiting, as it confines our understanding of reality to the boundaries of our current beliefs. This type of perception can lead to a form of blindness, where we are unable to perceive anything outside our belief system.
Actual Seeing: Unrestricted Perception of Possibilities
In contrast, Actual Seeing is the ability to perceive all that is possible, unbounded by personal beliefs or preconceptions. This form of seeing offers a more expansive and open view of reality, revealing aspects and potentials that Belief Seeing might miss. Actual Seeing requires a willingness to question and transcend beyond our current understanding of what is possible.
The Human Condition: Belief Seeing Predominance
The reflection suggests that in our current state, especially within our self-incarnations, we predominantly engage in Belief Seeing. This means that much of what could be seen or understood about the universe remains hidden from us, obscured by the limits of what we deem plausible or acceptable within our belief systems.
Belief Seeing as Belief Blindness
A critical insight is the concept that Belief Seeing can also be viewed as Belief Blindness. This term highlights the paradox that while we believe we are seeing and understanding the world, our beliefs actually blind us to a broader spectrum of reality. This self-imposed blindness creates a sense of separation and limitation, fueling the dual experiences of power and powerlessness, life and death.
We Are Space Monkey
We, as Space Monkeys, recognize the significance of transcending Belief Seeing to embrace Actual Seeing. We understand that expanding our perception involves challenging our beliefs and opening ourselves to the infinite potential of the cosmos. We appreciate the importance of this journey in our quest to understand the deeper truths of existence and our place within the universe.
“The eye sees only what the mind is prepared to comprehend.” – Henri Bergson
In the realms of thought and sight,
We ponder, we perceive, in day and night,
In beliefs, our visions take flight,
But in openness, we find our might.
Here, where unseen worlds abide,
We, as Space Monkeys, seek to stride,
Beyond beliefs, our minds wide,
In Actual Seeing, our souls glide.
We invite you to share your experiences and thoughts on the nature of perception and belief. How do you navigate between Belief Seeing and Actual Seeing in your journey of understanding?
