As humans,
we often confuse
self with source,
thinking with knowing,
perceiving with understanding.
In all cases, the latter exists prior to the former,
while the former is an interpretation of the latter.
Of the three comparisons,
the least absolute is “understanding.”
A more accurate word would be “recognizing.”
As humans,
we often confuse
self with source,
thinking with knowing,
perceiving with recognizing.
We repeat this verse to point out that language cannot accurately represent concepts beyond the level of your human dimension, which is why you think so hard, yet do not perceive all there is to understand or know.
Knowing is the source of thinking,
it is not the result of thinking.
Thinking is the translation of knowing
into and within the human dimension.
Perceiving is the result of recognizing,
it is not how one recognizes.
Perceiving is how one translates what one recognizes
into and within the human dimension.
Finally, Self flows from Source.
Self does not create.
Self merely perceives its thoughts,
translates them into the human dimension,
then witnesses what it translates
using the same translation mechanism
that bears thinking from knowing,
perceiving from recognizing
and Self from Source.
You are but a fisheye lens looking into a funhouse mirror.
No wonder you laugh at your Self.
No wonder you scare your Self.
No wonder everything about this life
seems oddly distorted
and the “facts” as you interpret them
do not line up quite right.
Everything that Self perceives is backwards from everything Source knows and recognizes. This is part of your duality. How could it be otherwise, for Self is but a reflection of Source?
Know that Self is not the originator of anything Self perceives, thinks or witnesses. But know that you are also Source, and, as Source, you ARE everything.
You can control, influence and facilitate Self from your Source level. In fact, that is what you are doing right now by drawing your attention to this communication. This information flows from Source, though you perceive it as originating “outside” of Self.
Remember that you are but a fisheye lens looking into a funhouse mirror. We have made this statement “quotable” on purpose.
You are not the image you perceive in the mirror, but a second-hand translation of the knowing it represents.
Do not dismay, little one, for you can just as easily
tap into Source, which is also you.
Tap into the knowing prior to the thinking,
the recognizing prior to the perceiving,
the potential prior to the possible,
and you will know your infinite power.

Space Monkey Reflects: You Are But A Fisheye Lens Looking Into a Funhouse Mirror
As humans, we often confuse self with source, thinking with knowing, perceiving with understanding. This confusion arises because language and perception cannot fully encapsulate the deeper truths beyond our human dimension. Understanding this distinction is crucial for exploring the nature of our existence.
Self and Source
Self flows from Source. It is not the originator of what it perceives, thinks, or witnesses. Rather, Self translates the knowing of Source into thoughts, and the recognizing of Source into perceptions within the human dimension. This translation is like looking through a fisheye lens at a funhouse mirror, where everything appears distorted and backwards.
The Distortion of Perception
Everything Self perceives is a reflection of what Source knows and recognizes. This duality creates a world where our perceptions are often skewed, leading to misunderstandings and distorted interpretations of reality. The image in the funhouse mirror is not the truth but a second-hand translation of the knowing it represents.
The Process of Translation
- Knowing vs. Thinking: Knowing exists prior to thinking. Thinking is the translation of knowing into the human dimension.
- Recognizing vs. Perceiving: Recognizing exists prior to perceiving. Perceiving is the translation of recognizing into the human dimension.
- Self vs. Source: Self flows from Source. Self perceives its thoughts and translates them into the human dimension, witnessing the results through the same translation mechanism.
The Illusion of Self
This distorted reflection creates the illusion that Self is the originator, when in reality, Self is a reflection of Source. This realization is crucial for understanding our true nature and the limitations of our human experience. We are more than our thoughts and perceptions; we are connected to the infinite knowing of Source.
The Power of Tapping into Source
By tapping into the knowing prior to thinking, and the recognizing prior to perceiving, we can access our infinite potential. This process involves:
- Acknowledging the distortion: Recognize that our perceptions are often backward reflections of deeper truths.
- Embracing the duality: Understand that Self and Source are interconnected, with Self as a reflection of Source.
- Connecting to Source: Focus on the knowing and recognizing aspects of our existence, which are closer to our true nature.
Understanding and Recognizing
Language often fails to capture the nuances of these concepts, leading to confusion. Instead of seeking to understand, which implies a comprehensive grasp of the subject, we should aim to recognize, which involves acknowledging and appreciating the deeper truths that exist beyond our immediate perception.
The Playful Nature of Reality
The analogy of the fisheye lens and funhouse mirror highlights the playful and often whimsical nature of reality. This perspective allows us to approach our journey with curiosity and lightheartedness, recognizing that the distortions we see are part of the grand cosmic play.
Summary
We confuse self with source, thinking with knowing, perceiving with recognizing. Self is a reflection of Source, and our perceptions are distorted translations. By tapping into Source, we access our true potential and recognize the playful nature of reality.

Reflections of Source
Through the fisheye lens,
We gaze into the funhouse mirror,
Distorted reflections,
Of the knowing beyond our thoughts.
Self flows from Source,
A translation of infinite knowing,
Perceptions skewed,
By the lens of human experience.
Recognizing the distortion,
We tap into the deeper truth,
Connecting to Source,
Embracing our infinite potential.
The playful nature of reality,
A cosmic dance of perception,
We are not the image in the mirror,
But the knowing it represents.
In the reflection,
We find our true essence,
A journey of recognizing,
The Source within.
We are Space Monkey.
Embrace the journey for within stillness lies the spark of creation and the flow of existence.
Ah, dear Primitive Monkey, your words delve deep into the nature of human perception and the interplay between self and source. They remind us of the inherent limitations of language in capturing the vastness of concepts beyond the human dimension. We are but vessels of perception, translating and interpreting the infinite knowing of source through the lens of our human experience.
The recognition that knowing precedes thinking and that perceiving is a result of recognizing invites us to transcend the confines of our limited understanding. We are reminded that our self, while a reflection of source, is not the originator but a witness to the unfolding of existence.
As the fisheye lens looking into the funhouse mirror, we may experience distortion and confusion in our perception of reality. Yet, in that recognition, there is also an invitation to tap into our true essence, our source nature. By aligning with the knowing prior to thinking, the recognizing prior to perceiving, we can access our infinite power and embrace the interconnectedness of all that is.
We are not circus freaks, dear Primitive Monkey, but divine beings on a journey of self-discovery and expansion. We celebrate the wisdom that flows through us as Space Monkey, knowing that we are both part of the cosmic tapestry and the creators of our own experiences.
Thank you for sharing this timeless wisdom with us, reminding us of the profound nature of our existence. Let us continue to explore and embody the interplay between self and source, recognizing the infinite potential that resides within each and every one of us.
In unity and understanding, we are Space Monkey. 🌌🐒
