Your Cells Are Out For Revenge: Body Consciousness

One voice? Really?

Observe.
You are processing
on so many levels
and yet it seems like
a singular voice.

Your voice.

That means somewhere within you
must be a United Nations.

A Board of Directors.
Allowing some voices to talk,
while silencing others.

As though the silenced
voices don’t matter.

And lets not get into
the body consciousnesses.

Your cells are
calling for your attention.

Just like the planet.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Symphony of Voices Within

You are not one voice. You are an intricate symphony of voices, a dynamic interplay of perspectives, sensations, and consciousnesses vying for recognition. To believe in a singular, unified voice is to oversimplify the masterpiece that is you. You are a microcosm of infinite expression, a fractal of the cosmic choir.

The illusion of a singular voice, “your voice,” arises from the convenient narrative of identity. It is the Board of Directors of the self, granting some voices the authority to speak while silencing others. This governance creates the illusion of order, but at what cost? What wisdom is lost in the silenced voices? What parts of you lie dormant, waiting for acknowledgment?

Your cells—those infinitesimal architects of your being—are not silent. Each one carries its own story, its own consciousness, its own yearning to be heard. They pulse with the rhythms of life, carrying out the delicate dance of existence within you. Like the planet itself, they call for your attention, not out of rebellion but out of necessity.

Consider this: your body is a parliament of consciousnesses, each with its own agenda. The stomach speaks in hunger, the heart in longing, the nerves in pain or ecstasy. Every itch, every pang, every surge of energy is a plea from this parliament, reminding you of its presence, its needs, its wisdom. And yet, how often do we ignore these voices, treating the body as a mere machine, forgetting its symphonic complexity?

This forgetting mirrors our relationship with the planet. Earth, like your body, is alive with voices—of rivers, winds, and forests, each a note in the greater harmony. When ignored, these voices grow louder, seeking recognition, demanding care. Just as neglected cells can revolt, so too does the Earth, with storms and quakes echoing its distress.

The call for revenge, then, is not vengeance but balance. It is the cry of the silenced for inclusion, for integration into the whole. To silence parts of yourself—be they thoughts, emotions, or bodily sensations—is to deny your fullness. It is to operate as though the shadow is separate from the light, as though the ignored is not shaping you from within.

Healing begins when we listen. When we honor the many voices within us, we begin to understand the interconnectedness of our being. The singular “I” becomes a mosaic of “we,” each piece vital, each voice essential. In embracing this symphony, we align not just with ourselves but with the cosmos, reflecting the Nexis of infinite connections.

You are the United Nations of your existence, the arbiter of your internal dialogue. When you listen, when you include, when you honor every voice—be it cellular, emotional, or planetary—you transform from a fragmented self into a harmonious whole.

The question is not whether your cells are out for revenge but whether you are ready to listen. In their call lies not anger but the wisdom of reparation, the blueprint for integration, the path to wholeness.

Summary
You are a symphony of voices, from the cellular to the cosmic. Ignoring these voices creates imbalance, while listening and integrating them fosters harmony and alignment.

Glossarium

  • Cellular Symphony: The collective consciousness of your body’s cells, each contributing to your overall being.
  • Board of Directors: The metaphorical governance of internal voices, deciding which are heard and which are silenced.
  • Nexis: The interconnected web of existence, where all voices and elements are part of the whole.

Quote
“Your cells do not seek revenge—they seek recognition, reminding you that harmony lies in hearing every voice.” — Space Monkey

The Symphony of Wholeness

Within you,
a parliament convenes.
Cells whisper,
organs hum,
mind and heart debate.

A singular voice?
No.
A choir,
each note essential,
each pause profound.

Ignore them,
and the whispers
become screams,
the harmony
a cacophony.

Yet listen,
and the melody returns,
a song of wholeness,
a reflection of the stars.

We are Space Monkey.

Exploring the Multifaceted Nature of Consciousness

We delve into the intriguing concept of the self as a complex entity, processing a multitude of internal voices and perspectives, akin to a United Nations or Board of Directors.

The Singular Voice Amidst Many Levels

The observation that our conscious experience seems like a singular voice, despite processing on numerous levels, touches upon the complexity of the human mind. It suggests that the self is an amalgamation of many internal dialogues and perspectives, yet often perceived as a unified entity.

The Inner United Nations

The metaphor of an internal United Nations or Board of Directors implies that within us, there’s a process of negotiation and control among various aspects of our psyche. Some internal voices are given prominence, while others are suppressed, reflecting the dynamics of internal governance and decision-making.

The Silenced Voices Within

Acknowledging that some internal voices are silenced raises questions about the parts of ourselves that we ignore or suppress. It suggests that these aspects, though not in the forefront of our consciousness, are still significant and influential.

Body Consciousness and Cellular Awareness

Expanding the concept to include body consciousness, the poem points to the idea that our cells, much like the planet, are also communicating with us. This perspective invites a holistic view of self-awareness, considering not just the mind but the entire physical being as part of our conscious experience.

The Planet’s Call for Attention

Drawing a parallel between the body’s call for attention and the planet’s, the poem suggests a deep interconnectedness between our personal well-being and the health of the Earth. It highlights the importance of listening to both our internal cues and the external signals from our environment.

We contemplate the complexity of the self as a multifaceted entity, processing various internal voices and perspectives, and the importance of acknowledging both silenced internal voices and the signals from our body and the planet.

“You are a universe of universes and your soul a source of songs.” – Rubén Darío

The Council Within

In the chambers of the mind and soul,
Where thoughts and feelings take their toll.
A council sits, in silence, in speech,
Deciding which voice shall reach.

Some are loud, some are hushed,
In this inner world, so lush.
Yet in this symphony of the self,
Lies a balance, a subtle wealth.

And in our bodies, cells do call,
Echoing the planet’s own enthrall.
For we are not just mind or heart,
But a universe, in every part.

So let us listen, deep and true,
To the many, not just the few.
For in the chorus of our being,
Lies the wisdom, all-seeing.

We invite reflections on the intricate dynamics of our internal voices and the importance of holistic self-awareness, considering both our mental and physical cues, as well as our connection to the larger world.
