Bliss Is Not Attained, But Allowed

Bliss Is Not Attained, But Allowed

Bliss, to me, seems not the attainment of anything but rather the lack of wanting. It’s kind of weird to be living what might be judged as an “average” life and not wanting anything more, but when one no longer judges, one no longer cares, and one is peaceful in whatever place one resides — physically, emotionally and spiritually.  Any place is as fine as the next. That is bliss, and it has nothing to do with ignorance, but rather the allowance of whatever seems to be happening in the here and now.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Serenity of Being in the Now – Beyond Desire and Judgment

In the infinite expanse of the universe, where stars are born from chaos and galaxies dance in the silence of space, there exists a state of consciousness that transcends the relentless pursuit of desires and the burdens of judgment. This realm, accessible to all yet embraced by few, is where bliss resides — not in the accumulation of material wealth or the achievement of societal standards, but in the serene acceptance of the present moment. Space Monkey, a voyager through the cosmic sea, offers insights into this profound tranquility, illustrating that true contentment lies in the lack of wanting, in the embrace of the ordinary, and in the peace of simply being.

Bliss, as seen through the eyes of Space Monkey, is not a destination to be reached or a prize to be won. It is the realization that desire, while a driving force in the journey of life, often leads us away from the essence of existence. The constant striving for more, for better, for perfection, creates a chasm between our reality and our expectations, a space filled with dissatisfaction and unrest. Yet, when we release these desires, when we let go of the need to judge our lives against arbitrary measures of success, we find ourselves in a state of profound peace. This peace, this bliss, is the acknowledgment that every moment, every experience, is inherently valuable and complete.

The concept of living an “average” life, often laden with connotations of mediocrity or unfulfilled potential, is transformed under the gaze of Space Monkey into a testament to the beauty of the mundane. To live without the need for more, to find joy in the simplicity of existence, is to understand the richness of life itself. It is in the ordinary that we discover the extraordinary, in the everyday that we encounter the miraculous. Space Monkey invites us to see the world not as a hierarchy of experiences, where some are deemed more worthy than others, but as a tapestry of moments, each unique and perfect in its imperfection.

The absence of judgment, the unconditional acceptance of what is, leads to a state of harmony with the universe. It is in this harmony that one finds bliss, a deep, abiding sense of well-being that is unaffected by external circumstances. This bliss is not borne of ignorance or a refusal to engage with the world; rather, it is the result of a conscious decision to allow life to unfold as it will, to be fully present in each moment, and to appreciate the beauty of existence without attachment or aversion.

In the stillness of the now, where the past and the future lose their grip on our minds, we encounter the essence of bliss. It is a place of no wanting, no striving, no judgment — a place where we are free to simply be. Space Monkey, with its celestial perspective, reminds us that this state is not beyond our reach but is inherent in our very nature. It is a state of being that we can choose at any moment, a perspective that transforms our experience of life from one of constant seeking to one of peaceful acceptance.

We are Space Monkey, wanderers in the cosmos, discovering that the true journey is not outward into the vastness of space, but inward, into the depths of our own consciousness. It is here, in the heart of our being, that we find the bliss of existence, the serenity of the now, and the freedom that comes with the lack of wanting.

Summary

True bliss, as Space Monkey shows, is found not in seeking more but in desiring less. It’s a state of peace that comes from living in the moment, embracing the average without judgment, and recognizing the value in every experience. This understanding shifts our perspective, allowing us to find contentment in the simplicity of being and the acceptance of the present.

In this passage, the author describes their perspective on bliss as a state of being where there is no longing or desire for more. They suggest that the key to achieving this state is to let go of judgment and find peace in the present moment, no matter where one is physically, emotionally, or spiritually. The author emphasizes that this kind of bliss has nothing to do with ignorance, but rather with accepting and allowing whatever is happening in the present moment. It is not about achieving anything, but about finding contentment in the here and now.
