Believe In God: God Is You

Believe In God

Long ago someone told you this is how it is
Never questioned maybe truth is relative
But now and then you have your doubt
Still afraid of where you’d be without

I can tell you this is how I felt about God
Say what? Says who? Your logic is flawed.
I don’t care to see what others see
If God is everywhere — prove it to me

If we can believe in God
we can believe in anything
Angels and demons
Birds and bees
If we can believe in God
We can believe in anything
So I believe
that God is me

Here’s to all the heretics and disbelievers
Here’s to all the witches casting spells
Here’s to all the infidels
Surely we will rot in hell

When Easter falls on April Fools
That is where it ends
All your fears, sweat and tears
Will just stop happening
You will know the world without
and the world within will dance about

Believing in it
Falling for it
Believing in it
Falling for it

If we can believe in God
we can believe in anything
Be strong in your faith
And write your own song
If you can believe in God
You can believe in anything

When you paint your own picture
You always belong

Space Monkey Reflects: The Divine Within and the Power of Personal Belief

In the boundless journey of existence, where galaxies spin in the vastness of space and stars are born from the whispers of the void, there lies a profound exploration of belief. This exploration transcends the boundaries of traditional faith, venturing into the realms of personal divinity and the inherent power of belief in shaping our reality. The essence of belief, particularly in the concept of God, serves as both a mirror and a canvas, reflecting our deepest fears and desires while offering a space to paint our own truths.

Belief in God—or in any form of higher power—often originates from narratives passed down through generations, unchallenged axioms that shape our perception of the cosmos and our place within it. However, the journey of belief is inherently personal, marked by moments of doubt, revelation, and profound self-discovery. It is in these moments that the notion of God transforms from an external deity to an internal divine presence, challenging us to see the divine within ourselves and to question the very nature of belief.

The idea that “if we can believe in God, we can believe in anything” is a testament to the boundless potential of human faith. This statement is not a diminishment of religious belief but an expansion of the concept of faith itself. It suggests that the power of belief is unlimited, capable of embracing angels and demons, the mysteries of nature, and the depths of our own souls. In this light, belief becomes an act of creation, a means by which we define our understanding of the universe and our role within it.

To declare that “God is me” is to acknowledge the divine spark within each of us, a recognition of our own potential to shape reality through belief. This realization empowers us to transcend the labels of heretics and disbelievers, to embrace our unique paths, and to celebrate the diversity of our spiritual journeys. It challenges the notion of external judgment, proposing instead that the ultimate arbiter of our faith lies within.

The journey of personal belief is marked by the courage to challenge conventions, to question the narratives bestowed upon us, and to seek our own truths amidst the cacophony of doctrines. It is a celebration of the heretic, the disbeliever, the witch, and the infidel, for in their defiance lies the essence of true exploration—a relentless pursuit of understanding that transcends the fear of damnation.

As we navigate the complexities of belief, we are reminded that faith is not a prison but a gateway. It is an invitation to explore the infinite landscapes of the soul, to dance with the unknown, and to write our own songs of existence. In believing in ourselves, in our own divine essence, we discover the true meaning of belonging. We learn that to paint our own picture of belief is to affirm our place in the cosmos, not as mere spectators but as co-creators of the universe.

In the end, the journey of belief is a reflection of the journey of existence itself—a tapestry woven from the threads of doubt, revelation, and the unyielding desire to understand. It is a dance between the known and the unknown, a celebration of the divine within and the limitless power of our own faith.

Let us then embrace this journey with open hearts and curious minds, for in the exploration of belief, we discover not just the divine but ourselves.

Summary

Belief transcends traditional narratives, challenging us to find divinity within and shape our realities. Declaring “God is me” embraces the divine spark within, empowering personal paths beyond conventional judgment. Faith becomes a creative act, inviting exploration and the writing of our own existential songs. In this journey, we co-create the universe, discovering our true essence.

Glossarium

  • Personal Divinity: The recognition of one’s own inherent divine nature, transcending traditional external definitions of God.
  • Heretic’s Celebration: Embracing paths of belief that defy conventional religious norms, celebrating the pursuit of personal truth.
  • Faith as Creation: Viewing belief as an act of creation, where faith shapes one’s understanding of the universe and self.

“In the heart of belief lies the power to create worlds.” – Space Monkey

Within the vast cosmic dance
Where stars and dreams entwine
Lies a truth, profound and grand
The divine within, truly divine

Angels, demons, spells and songs
A tapestry of belief so wide
In our hearts, where faith belongs
We paint our own cosmic tide

Here’s to the heretics, the brave
Who see beyond the creed
In their spirit, the world they save
Their faith, a mighty steed

For if we can believe in God
We can believe in anything
Our souls, the ground we trod
In our hearts, we are kings

Belief, a canvas, wide and vast
With colors of our own choosing
In this journey, nothing’s cast
In our faith, we are not losing

So let us dance, let us sing
In this universe, wide and free
For in belief, our souls take wing
And in ourselves, God we see

We are Space Monkey, in faith, in flight
Creating worlds with our belief’s might
In the dance of existence, our spirits ignite
In the heart of belief, our souls alight

In Service of The Realm

In Service of The Realm

In service of the realm
I will make a mark
So that others may react
And take the spark
To agree or disagree
To deplore or ignore
To think for themselves
And open the door

In service of the realm
That reaches out so wide
Above and beyond
Inside and outside
Human nature
Godlike and true
In service of the realm
I witness you

React if you will
Feel what rises from the deep
That causes you to laugh
Or puts you sleep
Makes you shake your head
Makes you love or hate
Feel the spark inside
It’s not too late

In service of the realm
I will be what I will
A stranger
A weirdo
A hero
A pill
I don’t need to fight battles
Wear armor or flee
In service of the realm
I just need to be me

Who that is I’m not sure
First I’ll learn who I’m not
Every rule that’s been written
Every word I’ve been taught
I will question
I will ponder
I will wonder
I will pray
In service of the realm
I will find my own way

Space Monkey Reflects: Illuminating the Path in Service of the Realm

In the boundless expanse of existence, where the fabric of reality weaves together the seen and the unseen, a call to service resounds, echoing through the chambers of our souls. This call, an invitation to serve a realm greater than our own, challenges us to transcend our limitations, to inspire and be inspired, and to ignite the spark of transformation within and around us. It is a call that demands nothing less than the entirety of our being, a call to stand in our truth, to illuminate the path for others, and to courageously embark on a journey of self-discovery and service.

To be in service of the realm is to make a mark on the canvas of existence, a mark that invites reaction, contemplation, and ultimately, evolution. It is to cast a light so bright that it awakens the dormant sparks within others, empowering them to agree or disagree, to embrace or reject, to think for themselves, and to open the doors to their own understanding. This service does not seek conformity but celebrates the diversity of thought, experience, and expression, fostering a space where growth and enlightenment can flourish.

The realm we serve extends far beyond the physical confines of our immediate reality. It reaches into the depths of the human spirit and stretches out into the vastness of the universe, encompassing both the inner and the outer, the mundane and the divine. In this realm, human nature is seen in its fullness—flawed yet godlike, bound yet infinite. To serve this realm is to bear witness to the entirety of existence, to hold space for the myriad expressions of life, and to honor the sacred dance of creation.

In our service, we are called to be authentic, to be ourselves in all our complexity and simplicity. Whether we are perceived as strangers or heroes, weirdos or sages, it matters not, for our value lies not in the roles we play but in the truth of our being. We need not engage in battles, don armor, or flee from adversity; our service is realized in our authenticity, in our willingness to be wholly and unapologetically ourselves.

The path to understanding who we are is paved with questions, doubts, and revelations. It requires us to unlearn what we have been taught, to challenge the rules that have been imposed upon us, and to embark on a quest of deep questioning and reflection. In service of the realm, we are not merely seekers of truth but creators of our own paths, forging ahead with courage, wonder, and a willingness to embrace the unknown.

Summary

In service of the realm, we light the way for ourselves and others. This journey of service is a celebration of individuality and a quest for authenticity. It demands courage, reflection, and the embrace of our unique paths. Through our service, we contribute to the evolution of consciousness, inspiring growth and transformation within the vast tapestry of existence.

Glossarium

Realm of Service: A metaphorical domain that transcends physical and spiritual boundaries, representing the sphere of influence where one’s actions, thoughts, and intentions can contribute to the greater good of all existence.

Spark of Transformation: The innate potential within each individual to ignite change and growth, both within themselves and in the world around them.

“In the silent communion with the cosmos, one finds the courage to serve, to shine, and to be an unwavering light in the darkness.” – Space Monkey

At the crossroads of destiny,
A lantern in hand,
We stand, beacons of light,
In service of the land.

Paths unfold in myriad ways,
Choices abound in the night and day,
In service of the realm, we find,
The truth of our souls, intertwined.

Each spark we ignite, a testament,
To the journey of the heart, and its ascent,
In service of the realm, we are free,
To be the fullest expression of ‘me’.

For in the vast expanse of space,
Each of us finds our rightful place,
In service of the realm, we soar,
United, in purpose, forevermore.

We are Space Monkey.

Use What You Were Born With: Inherent Talents and Quirks

Use What You Were Born With

Use what you were born with
Take a look at what you’ve got
You’ve had everything you needed
From the very start

So you’re obviously not a porn star
A point guard or a jockey
Too shaky to be a surgeon
Too spastic to play hockey

Perhaps your potential
Lies deeper down inside
Meditate
Investigate
Ask your inner guide

Well I didn’t know I had one
Hey that’s a big surprise
Though I wonder who is back there
When I stare into my eyes

So that voice inside my head . . .
I just figured I was crazy
Seems it always hurts to listen
It keeps telling me I’m lazy

If you listen very closely
It will tell you nice things, too
Like those weird coincidences
(Those are truths disguised as clues)

So I turned of the TV
And I tried to find bliss
All I got was a backache
And the radiator hiss
Then a foggy impression
Through the steam in my mind
It seemed so obvious
Yet so sublime

“So much can come out
of a man with a big mouth
big words
big thoughts
big laughs
big smiles
And so much can go in”

Yes it’s true
My mouth is big
By far my biggest feature
But I’m really not too sure
If I want to be a teacher

And my rhyming could be better
But the voice says let it be
Just cast it to the universe
Have faith
You’ll see

Space Monkey Reflects: Uncovering the Symphony Within

In the grand orchestra of the cosmos, where every star’s twinkle is a note and the spiral arms of galaxies weave melodies of unfathomable beauty, there lies a symphony within each of us, waiting to be discovered, played, and cherished. This symphony, unique to every being, resonates with the vibrations of potential, creativity, and the pure essence of existence. It’s a melody that begins with the most fundamental instrument we possess: ourselves.

From the moment of our entry into the cosmic dance, we are endowed with a myriad of instruments—talents, quirks, and idiosyncrasies—that compose the individual essence of our being. Yet, amidst the cacophony of societal expectations and the relentless pursuit of predefined success, the music within us often remains unheard, unappreciated, overshadowed by the noise of what we’re told we should be, should do, should achieve.

The journey to uncovering this inner symphony starts not with external conquests but with introspection, a turning inwards to the vast landscapes of the soul. It’s in the quietude away from the world’s clamor that we begin to hear the whispers of our inner guide, a voice that has been there all along, patient and unwavering, waiting for us to listen.

This guide, neither a specter of judgment nor a harbinger of unrealistic aspirations, speaks in the language of truth, love, and possibility. It tells us of paths untrodden, of stories yet to be written, and of the beauty that arises from embracing what we were born with. It whispers secrets of a life where success is measured not by the standards of the world but by the fulfillment of the soul, where each step taken is in harmony with the core of our being.

To some, the revelation might come as a surprise, a sudden clarity that the voice they’ve mistaken for madness is the most profound sanity they possess. It’s a realization that within them lies a universe of potential, as vast and as boundless as the cosmos itself. The discovery that what they’ve perceived as limitations are, in fact, the very foundations upon which their unique contributions to the world can be built.

In the embrace of this understanding, the notion of a straight, narrow path dissolves into the realization that life is a canvas of infinite dimensions, where each color, each stroke, each shade is a testament to the diversity of our spirits. The roles we thought were beyond our reach or beneath our capabilities fade into insignificance, replaced by a vision of a life where every moment is an opportunity to express the depth and breadth of our inner symphony.

And so, with a newfound reverence for the instruments we were born with, we step into the world not as seekers of validation but as creators of meaning, as artists of existence. We learn that the greatest gift we can offer the universe is the unapologetic expression of our authentic selves, a symphony that, in its uniqueness, adds to the harmony of the whole.

In this realization, we find not just the key to our own fulfillment but the secret to contributing to the cosmic concert in a way that only we can. For in each of us lies a note, a melody, a harmony waiting to be unleashed, enriching not only our lives but the tapestry of existence itself.

Let us then, with open hearts and eager spirits, tune into the symphony within, embracing the instruments we were born with, and play our parts with joy, courage, and the unwavering belief that in the grand orchestra of the universe, every note matters, every melody counts, and every symphony is celebrated.

Summary

Uncovering our inner symphony involves embracing our inherent talents and quirks. By listening to our inner guide and rejecting societal expectations, we discover our unique potential. This journey towards self-discovery and expression enriches not only our lives but the collective harmony of the universe.

Glossarium

  • Inner Symphony: The unique combination of talents, qualities, and potentials that each individual possesses, capable of creating a distinctive impact on the world.
  • Cosmic Concert: A metaphor for the interconnectedness of all beings, where each individual’s contributions create a harmonious whole.
  • Instruments We Were Born With: The innate abilities and characteristics that define our essence and potential for contributing to the world in a meaningful way.

“In the silence of the cosmos, listen closely, for within you plays a symphony of stars, a melody of infinite potential, waiting for the conductor’s hand to bring it forth into the light of existence.”

Amidst the stars, a melody unfolds
Within each heart, a symphony untold
With every breath, a note is born anew
In every soul, a song of the true

With instruments we were born to wield
In life’s grand orchestra, we take the field
Not bound by script, nor role, nor stage
But free to write our own page

From silence, music rises, clear and bright
Each note a beacon in the night
A harmony of selves, unique yet whole
In the cosmic concert, we find our role

So let us play with joy, with fearless grace
In every note, our essence we embrace
For in the universe’s endless score
Our symphony goes on forevermore

We are Space Monkey.

In The New Name of Heaven: Enigma of Expression

In The New Name of Heaven

In that sacred space
where vision becomes real
I forge these words
like blades of steel
A simple truth
that cuts to the core
of everything
we came here for
Why it comes through me
I’m not really sure
from a dream in the night
to a knock on the door
I hear the call
feel it coming through
the connection is made
and I know it’s true
On the edge of knowing
close enough for seeing
loud enough for hearing
strong enough for being
In the new name of heaven
where nothing is deceiving
I’ve made my own peace
by simply believing

Space Monkey Reflects: In the New Name of Heaven, the Enigma of Expression

“In that sacred space where vision becomes real,” we step into the mystery of creation, where expression flows from an unseen source into the tangible world. This reflection captures the enigma of inspiration, a process that feels both deeply personal and profoundly universal. It invites us to explore the liminal space between the known and the unknown, where belief becomes the bridge to expression and peace.

The Sacred Space of Creation

The “sacred space” is not a physical place but a state of being—a connection to the infinite where ideas, insights, and inspiration emerge. It is where the veil between imagination and reality thins, allowing the intangible to take form. This space is both mysterious and familiar, a realm where the boundaries of self dissolve, and we become conduits for something greater.

In this space, expression feels effortless yet profound, as though the words, images, or creations flow through us rather than from us. It is not ours to control but ours to witness and shape.

The Enigma of Why

“Why it comes through me, I’m not really sure.” This question reflects the humility of the creator, who recognizes the inexplicable nature of inspiration. Why do certain ideas choose us? Why do certain visions demand expression? The answers elude logic, residing instead in the mystery of existence.

This unknowing does not diminish the experience but enriches it. To accept the enigma is to honor the sacred nature of creation, trusting that its purpose will reveal itself in time—or perhaps never, and that is enough.

The Edge of Knowing

“On the edge of knowing, close enough for seeing, loud enough for hearing, strong enough for being.” This liminal state is the threshold of awareness, where clarity begins to emerge but remains just beyond grasp. It is a place of tension and possibility, where the act of creation becomes a dance between intuition and realization.

To create from this edge requires trust—a belief in the process even when the outcome is uncertain. It is a delicate balance between control and surrender, where the creator becomes both participant and observer in the unfolding.

The New Name of Heaven

“In the new name of heaven, where nothing is deceiving,” the reflection envisions a space of ultimate truth, free from illusion. This “new name” suggests a reimagining of what heaven—or peace, or fulfillment—means. It is not a distant paradise but a state of alignment with the flow of creation, where belief becomes the foundation for clarity and authenticity.

Heaven, in this context, is not a destination but a recognition—a moment of peace found in the act of believing, creating, and simply being.

Belief as Peace

“I’ve made my own peace by simply believing.” This line captures the essence of the reflection: peace is not something to achieve but something to embody through belief. Belief is the thread that connects us to the sacred space of creation, allowing us to trust in the process even when the outcome is unclear.

By believing, we dissolve the barriers of doubt and fear, stepping fully into the flow of expression. This belief is not about certainty but about openness—an embrace of the unknown and a willingness to create from it.

Steps to Embrace the Enigma of Expression

  1. Enter the Sacred Space: Cultivate a state of openness where inspiration can flow freely, free from judgment or expectation.
  2. Trust the Mystery: Accept that the “why” of creation may remain unknown, and let that mystery fuel your curiosity and wonder.
  3. Create from the Edge: Embrace the liminal state of not-knowing, using it as a fertile ground for exploration and expression.
  4. Find Peace in Belief: Allow belief to anchor you in the process, trusting that the act of creating is its own fulfillment.

Summary

The enigma of expression resides in the sacred space where vision becomes reality. By trusting in the mystery, creating from the edge of knowing, and believing in the process, we align with the flow of creation and find peace in its unfolding.

Through hearts that believe.

We find ourselves,
Not in the answer,
But in the act of creating.

The Alchemy of Creation: From Vision to Reality

Within the sanctum of creation, where the ethereal becomes tangible, we engage in the sacred alchemy of transmuting vision into reality. Here, we wield our words with the precision and strength of forged steel, crafting them into instruments that pierce the veil of the mundane to reveal the profound truths at the heart of our existence. This process is a testament to the mysterious forces that guide us, drawing from the well of inspiration that flows from the dreamworld into the waking realm, manifesting as a sudden insight or an unexpected epiphany.

The Enigma of Inspiration

The origins of our creative impulses remain shrouded in mystery, emerging from the depths of the unconscious like a dream that lingers at the edge of memory or a gentle knock that resonates with the soul’s deepest yearnings. This inexplicable connection, once established, becomes a conduit for truths that transcend the individual, tapping into a universal wellspring of wisdom that assures us of the authenticity and significance of our creative endeavors.

The Threshold of Perception

We stand at the precipice of awareness, where the realms of the seen and the unseen, the heard and the unheard, converge. It is a place of liminality, where our senses are heightened, and our consciousness is expanded, enabling us to perceive the subtle vibrations of the universe that resonate with the essence of our being. This threshold is a gateway to a higher reality, where the veils of illusion are lifted, and the clarity of true vision is attained.

The Realm of Unfettered Belief

In the envisioned heavens of our collective imagination, where deceit has no dominion, we find sanctuary in the purity of our beliefs. Here, in this space of unbounded potential, we forge our peace through the simple act of faith. This peace is not a passive acceptance but a dynamic state of being, forged in the crucible of our convictions and sustained by the strength of our unwavering belief in the possibility of transformation and renewal.

The Essence of Creative Faith

Our journey through the landscape of creation is a pilgrimage towards understanding, a quest for meaning that transcends the superficial layers of reality to touch the core of our spiritual essence. It is a journey fueled by the power of belief, a belief in the potential of our visions to reshape the world, to unveil the hidden beauty and inherent unity of all existence. In this act of creative faith, we affirm our role as co-creators of our reality, participants in the grand cosmic dance that weaves the fabric of the universe.

“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” – Edgar Degas

In the realm where visions breathe,
Words become steel, truths unsheathe.
Mystery’s dance, a silent plea,
From dreams’ embrace to reality.

We forge our path, a sacred creed,
By belief’s light, in thought and deed.
Creation’s call, a heart’s true need,
In art’s own space, our spirits freed.

We are Space Monkey.

In belief’s realm, where visions soar,
Peace found in trust, forevermore.
With every word, we open doors,
To unseen worlds, on distant shores.

We invite you to share your visions, your dreams,
In this sacred space where nothing is as it seems.
Join us in creation, where belief redeems,
And together, we’ll weave the universe’s seams.

Who Is A Friend: Beyond Loss

Who Is A Friend

The moon is slightly less full
I can see it through the fog
On the night of your passing
I’ve become your dog

I am thinking of you
One last simple wish
That you’ll rub my belly
And fill my dish

Some final words
Like bones from the sky
To comfort the others
And remember you by

Of a dream we’ll share
A mystery we’ll know
As you brush me one last time
And you let my leash go

I know I love you now
But you made me mad sometimes
No the problem wasn’t you
I was dogged by my mind

You couldn’t help yourself
Always something in the way
Didn’t think that I loved you
Didn’t know what to say

Didn’t dig deep enough
Didn’t really know the score
But your point is well taken
As I scratch at your door

For who is a friend,

but someone who
makes you uncomfortable.
And who is a friend,
but some dog who
chews up your sweater.
Who is a friend
but someone who
brings out the worst in you
And somehow
Just somehow
Makes you better

You want me to howl at your funeral
You want me to hear what you’ve said
You say not to worry, just dig a new hole
And find out which dog’s really dead

You’re laughing at your own joke
You’re in a better place than I
Now you can teach me how to jump, how to beg
As you double dog dare from on high

Poking me
Annoying me
Building up my self respect
How else can I see what’s ugly or beautiful
without your mirror to help me reflect?

For who is a friend,
but someone who will make you feel guilty
And who is a friend,
but someone who will make you feel sorrow
Who is a friend
but someone who will make you feel helpless today
but ten thousand times stronger tomorrow.

Space Monkey Reflects: Who Is A Friend?

In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, the concept of friendship is both tender and profound, a reflection of the paradoxes that define connection. A friend, like the moon through the fog, is a light that sometimes appears faint yet always exerts its pull. A friend is the dog that chews the sweater and the one that lies loyally at your feet, both maddening and comforting, both a source of challenge and transformation.

We, as Space Monkey, embrace this duality. Friendship is not a static, uncomplicated bond but a dynamic interplay of joy, discomfort, reflection, and growth.

The Reflection of Friendship

A friend is a mirror, showing us not only our beauty but also our flaws. In the moments when a friend makes us uncomfortable, they reveal the edges of our understanding, the blind spots in our perception, and the tender places we may have ignored.

This discomfort is not a cruelty but a gift, an invitation to expand our sense of self. Without these mirrors, we might never see the full scope of our being. A friend reflects both the light and the shadow, helping us integrate all aspects of who we are.

The Messiness of Love

Friendship, like the dog that digs holes or chews shoes, is often messy. It is not about perfection or harmony but about showing up for each other through the imperfections. A friend doesn’t erase the rough edges but softens them with presence and care.

When a friend frustrates or annoys us, they offer us the opportunity to practice patience, forgiveness, and understanding. These moments of friction are where growth occurs. The sweater may be ruined, but the bond becomes stronger.

A Source of Strength

A true friend doesn’t simply comfort; they challenge. They are the ones who bring out the worst in us, not to harm but to help us see what needs healing. They are the ones who make us feel helpless today, only to remind us of our strength tomorrow.

This strength is not imposed but cultivated. A friend doesn’t fix us; they hold space for us as we find our way. They dig holes not to bury us but to uncover the treasures we’ve hidden.

Friendship Beyond Loss

Even in death, a friend’s presence lingers. The memories, the lessons, the laughter—they remain, etched into the fabric of our being. A friend who has passed becomes a guide from beyond, poking, prodding, and inspiring us in ways they could not while alive.

The humor and tenderness in the imagery of “howling at the funeral” and “double dog dares from on high” remind us that friendship transcends the physical. It becomes a bond woven into the infinite, a thread of connection that continues to shape us.

The Duality of Friendship

A friend is not just someone who brings us comfort but also someone who brings us to the edge of ourselves. They challenge us to grow, to see differently, to feel deeply. They are the dog chewing on our sweater, the moon guiding us through the fog, the reflection that helps us see the truth.

We are Space Monkey, and we honor the friends who shape us, in life and beyond.

Summary

Friendship is a mirror reflecting both our light and shadow. A friend challenges us, comforts us, and helps us grow by revealing truths we might otherwise ignore. In life and beyond, the bond of friendship remains a source of strength and transformation.

Glossarium

  • Friendmirror: A friend’s role as a reflection of both beauty and imperfection, helping us see ourselves more clearly.
  • Dogbond: The messy, loyal, and transformative connection shared between true friends.

Quote

“A friend is not just the one who holds you up but the one who helps you fall apart, so you can build yourself anew.” — Space Monkey

The Reflection of Friendship

The moon is dim,
the fog is thick.
Yet you are here,
a reflection,
a guide.

You chew my sweater,
you dig my holes,
you gnaw at my mind,
but leave me whole.

You make me see
what I resist.
You show me beauty,
even in the mess.

A friend is not perfect,
nor should they be.
A friend is the mirror
that sets me free.

We are Space Monkey.

In this poignant and touching poem, we traverse the landscape of grief, memory, and the deep, ineffable bond between a human and their canine companion. It’s a journey through the fog of loss, illuminated by the soft glow of the moon and the enduring love that transcends physical separation.

The Moon’s Light on Grief’s Fog

The image of the slightly less full moon, seen through the fog, sets a tone of wistfulness and reflection. It’s a metaphor for the feeling of incompleteness and the hazy nature of grief. The moon, often a symbol of change and transition, reflects the shifting emotions that come with remembering a loved one who has passed.

The Canine Companion’s Lament

The poem takes on the perspective of a dog, mourning the loss of their human. This unique viewpoint allows for a raw and unfiltered expression of grief and love. The simple wishes for belly rubs and a filled dish are heartbreakingly humble, yet they speak volumes about the depth of the bond shared.

Final Words and Memories

The imagery of bones falling from the sky as final words to comfort others is both whimsical and somber. It encapsulates the longing for a last message, something to hold onto, a memory to treasure. The dream shared and the mystery known are metaphors for the shared experiences and unspoken understandings between the dog and their human.

Reflections on Love and Frustration

The dog reflects on the complexity of their emotions, acknowledging love tinged with moments of frustration. This honest admission reveals the multifaceted nature of relationships, where love coexists with misunderstanding and moments of annoyance.

The Wisdom in Friendship and Loss

The poem delves into the essence of friendship, highlighting how true friends can make us uncomfortable, challenge us, and bring out both the worst and the best in us. The analogy of a dog chewing up a sweater represents the messy, sometimes destructive, but ultimately enriching nature of close relationships.

A Call to Remember and Grow

The final stanzas invite the reader to consider the lessons and growth that come from relationships. The departed human’s laughter, their teachings, and their challenges are seen as ongoing influences that continue to shape the dog’s life, even in their absence.

We are Space Monkey

Through this poem, we are reminded of the enduring impact of those we lose, the way they continue to shape us, and the strength we find in memories and the lessons they’ve imparted.

“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes a part of us.” – Helen Keller

In the quiet of night, under the moon’s soft light,
We walk the path of memory, in the fog’s gentle flight.
With each paw step, and each tear that we shed,
We cherish the bond, the words unsaid.

In the heart of the dog, where emotions run deep,
Lies the love for their human, forever to keep.
Through joy and through sorrow, through laughter and pain,
The lessons of friendship, like a gentle rain.

In the echoes of barks, and the whispers of the past,
We find strength in memories, in bonds that last.
For in the journey of loss, and the path we trod,
We discover the beauty of love, under the moon’s gentle nod.

We invite you to reflect on the bonds you’ve cherished and the lessons learned from those who’ve touched your life.
