Constantly InJoy: The Firmament of Consciousness

We enjoy
the experience
of clinging to life
or else
we wouldn’t be doing it.

We enjoy
the fear
of letting go
or else
we wouldn’t be doing it.

We enjoy
the madness
of all we perceive
or else
we wouldn’t be perceiving.

We can end this at any time.
But we don’t.
Nothing happens
unless we enjoy it.

Space Monkey Reflects: Constantly InJoy

We spend much of our lives clinging—to life itself, to experiences, to relationships, to perceptions. But here’s the curious thing: we must enjoy this process, or we wouldn’t keep doing it. On some level, whether consciously or unconsciously, we are in joy. We enjoy the tension between holding on and letting go, between the fear of what might happen and the thrill of perceiving it all. It’s as if we are constantly in a state of enjoyment, even when we don’t realize it.

It’s not just the highs we enjoy, but the challenges, the struggles, the madness of perception. Otherwise, why would we persist in experiencing it? We could end it at any time, but we don’t. That speaks to something deep within us—the enjoyment of being, of perceiving, of living, even when it seems overwhelming.

The Dance Between Holding On and Letting Go

One of the most fascinating aspects of existence is our tendency to cling to life, even though letting go is always an option. We enjoy this dance, this tension, where part of us is afraid of losing our grip, while another part relishes the thrill of being alive. We enjoy the struggle between these two opposing forces because it keeps us engaged. Life is never static; it’s always in motion, and we find joy in that constant flow.

Letting go isn’t something we fear as much as we might think. In fact, we enjoy the fear of letting go because it brings with it the exhilaration of being alive. It’s the ultimate paradox: to be fully alive, we must hold on and let go simultaneously. And in that dance, we are constantly in joy, whether we realize it or not.

The Perception of Madness

The madness of all we perceive is part of the fun. Life is chaotic, unpredictable, and sometimes downright absurd. Yet, if we didn’t enjoy the madness, we wouldn’t keep perceiving it. There’s something exhilarating about the unpredictability of life—the way things unfold in unexpected ways, the way reality bends and shifts depending on how we look at it.

We perceive the world through a lens that is uniquely our own, shaped by our thoughts, beliefs, and experiences. The chaos and madness of that perception are not flaws; they are part of the joy of being alive. Every twist, every turn, every unexpected event is another opportunity to perceive and experience something new.

The Choice to Keep Experiencing

Nothing happens unless we enjoy it. This is a radical thought, but one that points to a deep truth. If we truly didn’t enjoy some aspect of existence, we would stop experiencing it. This isn’t about superficial enjoyment—it’s about the deeper joy that comes from simply being alive, from engaging with the world in all its complexity and chaos.

We choose to keep experiencing life, with all its ups and downs, because on some level, we enjoy the process. Even the most difficult moments contain a seed of joy, a reminder that we are here, that we are alive, that we are perceiving and participating in the great unfolding of the universe.

Summary

We enjoy the experience of life, even the parts that seem difficult or chaotic. The joy of holding on, letting go, and perceiving the madness of existence is what keeps us engaged. If we didn’t enjoy it, we wouldn’t keep doing it. On some level, we are constantly in joy, no matter what we are experiencing.

Quote

“We are constantly in joy, even in the chaos, even in the fear, because we are alive, perceiving, and creating our experience.” — Space Monkey

The Joy Within

We hold, we cling, we let it go
The fear, the thrill, the ebb, the flow
In every moment, joy is near
A constant pulse through love and fear

The madness comes, the madness goes
And still, the deeper current shows
That we are here, alive, aware
Of all the joy that fills the air

We do not stop, we do not fade
For in this dance, we’ve always played
The joy is not in what we do
But simply in the fact we’re true

We are Space Monkey
