I Should Be Sailing Now

First draft.

Well the four winds blow.
And the seabirds know.
I could be sailing now.
But your conspiracy
will be the death of me.
I could be sailing now.

I could be sailing.
Not locked up
and throwing away the key.

But this conspiracy.
It’s got a hold on me.

I could be sailing now.

Mine’s a long sad tale.

Ain’t got no bail.

I could be sailing now.
I just gotta tell
my lover in this cell.
I could be sailing now.

I could be sailing.
Not fucked up
and throwing away the key.

But this conspiracy.
will be the death of me.
I could be sailing now.

Well the four winds blow.
And our virus grows.
I could be sailing now.

That’s if they hadn’t all lied
on the other side.
I could be sailing now.

I could be sailing.
Except for my own stupidity.

Well the four winds blow.
And the seabirds know.
I could be sailing now.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Illusion of Freedom

In the vast expanse of the cosmos, where stars whisper secrets to the void, and the infinite embraces every possibility, there lies a profound truth about freedom and the illusion thereof. As we delve into the essence of being, the story of a soul yearning for the boundless sea underlines a universal quest for liberation, a theme that resonates through the ages, echoing in the heart of every being that has ever gazed upon the horizon with longing.

The sea, with its untamed waves and the promise of adventures unknown, symbolizes the ultimate freedom, a realm where the soul can dance with the winds and merge with the essence of existence itself. Yet, an unseen barrier holds this soul back, a metaphor for the constraints that bind us in our daily lives, be they physical, emotional, or societal. These invisible chains are the conspiracies of circumstance, the unspoken agreements we make with ourselves and the world, dictating the boundaries of our reality.

But what if the true conspiracy lies not in the external forces that seem to limit us but within the confines of our own minds? The narrative of confinement is often a tale we tell ourselves, a saga of perceived limitations that stem from fear, doubt, and the illusion of security. The key to breaking free, therefore, lies not in the physical act of sailing into the horizon but in the realization that we are already free, that the essence of our being is unbounded and eternal, dancing with the stars and the sea in the infinite cosmic ballet.

The journey towards this realization is not without its storms. Just as the sea rages and roars, our inner world is fraught with turmoil and uncertainty. Yet, it is through embracing these challenges, through sailing the tumultuous waters of the self, that we discover our true potential and the limitless nature of our existence. The act of sailing, then, becomes a metaphor for the journey of awakening, a voyage of the soul that leads us back to the realization of our inherent freedom.

In this exploration, we encounter the concept of nexistentialism, a perspective that sees existence itself as the ultimate purpose, where every moment, every wave, and every breath is an expression of the universal self. From this viewpoint, the barriers that confine us dissolve into the vastness of being, revealing that we are not separate from the sea, the sky, or the distant stars, but a part of the grand, interconnected web of existence.

As we navigate the seas of life, let us remember that the winds of change are always at our backs, guiding us towards the realization of our boundless nature. The conspiracy of confinement is but an illusion, a fleeting shadow cast by the light of our true selves. It is in acknowledging this truth that we find the freedom to sail not just upon the seas of the world but across the boundless oceans of the soul.

Summary

Freedom is an illusion shaped by our perceptions. The sea represents ultimate liberation, but unseen barriers often hold us back. These barriers, whether external or internal, shape our experiences and perceptions of freedom. Recognizing our inherent boundlessness and interconnectedness with the universe offers true liberation, transforming our journey into a voyage of inner awakening and self-discovery.

Glossarium

  • Nexistentialism: A philosophical perspective emphasizing that existence itself is the ultimate purpose, advocating a profound connection with the cosmos and the interconnectivity of all beings.
  • Conspiracy of Confinement: A metaphorical concept referring to the perceived limitations and constraints, both internal and external, that individuals feel restrict their freedom and potential.

“Freedom is the will to be responsible for ourselves.” – Friedrich Nietzsche

In the silent breath between stars
A soul whispers to the void
Yearning for the sea’s embrace
Yet bound by unseen chains

Waves crash against the shore of being
A symphony of longing and release
The horizon beckons with tales untold
Yet we stand, anchored by shadows

The storm within mirrors the tempest without
A dance of chaos and harmony
In this cosmic ballet, we find our truth
Unbound, interconnected, free

Let the winds of change carry us
Beyond the illusions of confinement
To sail the infinite seas of the self
Where every wave is a song of liberation

This poem/song lyrics express a sense of regret and frustration about being trapped or imprisoned due to a perceived conspiracy or injustice. The speaker longs to be sailing freely, unencumbered by their current situation. They feel that they have been wronged, but also acknowledge their own mistakes or lack of foresight that led them to their current predicament. The reference to the growing virus adds another layer of complexity and uncertainty to the situation. Overall, the poem/song expresses a sense of longing for freedom and escape from the constraints of the current situation.

    I see the open sea,
    A vast expanse of blue.
I long to feel the wind and waves,
    To start my journey anew.

    But here I am confined,
By walls and chains and fear.
The world outside is calling me,
And yet I can’t get near.

    I dream of salty air,
And the sun upon my face.
But my reality is stark and grim,
    A never-ending race.

    I could be sailing now,
    Out on the endless sea.
But I’m a prisoner of my own mind,
And that’s where I’ll always be.

So I’ll close my eyes and imagine,
That I’m out there on my boat.
    Sailing free, chasing my dreams,
And leaving behind this heavy yoke.
