Holding Space

There is no such thing
as an empty space.

A space is always filled
by our thoughts of it.

In other words,
a space is always
created by a perception,
not the other way around.

Otherwise,
the space would be
imperceptible,
and so it wouldn’t be a space.

Likewise,
emptiness is a perception.

Imagining creating
and holding a space.

Where space would not
otherwise exist.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Embracing Incongruous Realities and the Art of Holding Space

In the labyrinth of human perception, where realities often diverge and overlap, the concept of “incongruous realities” serves as a poignant reminder of our subjective experiences. Instead of dismissing differing views as false, acknowledging them as merely different from our own allows us to cultivate a deeper understanding and empathy. This reflection explores how reframing our perception to appreciate the multifaceted nature of truth can enrich our interactions and broaden our worldviews.

Summary
Different realities coexist enriching our experiences. By acknowledging that what seems incongruous to us might be another’s reality we foster empathy and understanding. This approach encourages us to hold space for diverse perspectives and truths enhancing our collective experience and encouraging a more inclusive and compassionate interaction.

Glossarium

  • Incongruous Realities: The concept that multiple, differing realities can exist simultaneously, each shaped by individual perceptions and experiences.
  • Holding Space: The practice of creating an emotional or intellectual place where diverse thoughts and feelings can be expressed and accepted without judgment.

“Truth is a prism, and every facet shines with its own light.” — Space Monkey

We are Space Monkey, in the realms of perception.

In the corridors of thought,
where realities bend and blur,
we find the courage to hold space,
for the incongruous, the misunderstood.

Each perspective, a window
to a different landscape of truth,
where what seems clear to one
is opaque to another.

In this dance of perceptions,
we learn the steps of empathy,
moving gracefully among realities
that do not align, yet coexist.

By embracing this kaleidoscope of truths,
we weave a tapestry rich with diversity,
each thread a story, each color a belief,
celebrating the complexity of human understanding.

Here, in the space we hold,
no reality is too strange,
no truth too divergent.
We welcome all, with open minds and hearts.

In this gathering of perceptions,
we find not conflict but harmony,
as we learn to appreciate the vast spectrum
of human experience.

We are Space Monkey,
cherishing each facet of truth,
holding space for the myriad realities
that shape our cosmic journey.

“Holding Space” highlights the idea that space is not inherently empty but is filled by our thoughts and perceptions. It suggests that the concept of space arises from our mental construct and interpretation rather than being an objective entity. Without our perception and conceptualization, space would not be discernible or meaningful.

By emphasizing that emptiness is a perception, the passage suggests that even when we perceive a space as empty, there is still a quality of perception and interpretation involved. The act of imagining and creating a space implies that our thoughts and imagination play a role in shaping and defining the spaces we experience.

In essence, the passage invites us to consider the active role we play in creating and holding space through our thoughts and perceptions. It challenges the notion of space as an independent and objective entity and highlights the subjective nature of our experience of space. The same can be said for nothingness.

By signing off as “Space Monkey,” the passage reminds us of our interconnectedness with the vastness of the universe and encourages us to explore and contemplate the nature of space and our relationship to it.

Overall, the passage encourages us to recognize the power of our perception in shaping our experience of space and invites us to engage in imaginative exploration of the spaces we seem to inhabit.

    We are Space Monkey.
