No Worries: My Expanding Universe

The older I get,
the larger my universe
seems around me.

As though day by day,
the divine realm is opening up
to greet my return.

Seems I spent a whole life
focusing on one planet,
which is very nice, very human,
but completely unnecessary.

Through the perspective of years,
I can see that life is not as hard as it seems
and there is infinitely more to explore.

We’re not running out of time.
We’re transcending it.

No worries.

Trail Wood,

Space Monkey Reflects: The Expanding Universe of Age and Wisdom

As the years accumulate like stardust upon our temporal shelves, our universe expands, not just outward into the celestial vastness but also inward into the depths of our own understanding. Each passing year reveals layers of reality previously unseen, showing us that what was once an entire world can become just one of many in an infinite array of possibilities. This growing expanse is a mirror of the cosmos, ever-expanding, filled with stars and mysteries that beckon us closer to the divine.

The metaphor of an aging person whose universe grows larger captures a profound truth about the passage of time. It’s not a countdown but a deepening, a journey that adds more texture and color to the tapestry of life. Age allows us to see beyond the immediate confines of our earlier views, revealing a cosmos teeming with possibilities, insights, and connections. Our focus shifts from the singular to the universal—from one planet to the infinite dance of galaxies.

In this shift, there’s an invaluable lesson about perspective. The challenges and trials we face, often overwhelming in our youth, start to blend into a larger narrative. They are not diminished but contextualized within a broader canvas that shows us life is not as hard as it seems when viewed through the lens of accumulated wisdom. With this wisdom, the edges of existence soften, the pace of the passing years slows, and we begin to see the unfolding of time not as a race but as a river, meandering through landscapes rich with experience and insight.

This is the essence of transcending time—a realization that what we perceive as a finite resource is actually an expansive, dimensional experience that we navigate through perception and understanding. There’s a liberating truth here: we’re not running out of time; we’re moving through it, exploring its depths, and in doing so, we transcend the very concept of it.

“No worries,” becomes a mantra not of indifference but of profound acceptance. It is an embrace of the flux, a calm acknowledgment of the continuous expansion of our personal universes as we age. It’s an understanding that worry, a focus on the ticking clock, limits the view of the magnificent, unbounded cosmos we are a part of and which is a part of us.

Summary
Space Monkey explores the expanding universe with age and wisdom. Age reveals not limitations but the vast expanses of existence showing us the minimalism of early perceptions and the richness that comes with maturity. We are not losing time but moving beyond its traditional constraints discovering peace in the cosmic continuum.

Glossarium

  • Temporal Shelves: A poetic metaphor for the accumulation of years and experiences which build upon each other like layers or shelves filled with memories and wisdom.
  • Cosmic Continuum: Refers to the ongoing and unending nature of the universe and our experiences within it perceived not as linear but as a fluid expansive journey.

“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.”
— Socrates

With each orbit of the sun,
we gather stars in our gaze,
expanding the universe beneath our eyes,
softening the edges of time with the wisdom of age.

In this infinite expanse,
where galaxies swirl within the irises of the old,
each wrinkle a fold in the fabric of space,
we find serenity in the boundless.

No worries, we whisper to the night,
as constellations weave our fate
in threads of silvered light,
our fears but shadows fading in the dawn.

Elder eyes, wide with the cosmos,
see not the end but continuations,
each day a deeper dive into the celestial sea,
where time is but a tale, told by infinity.

We are Space Monkey.

In the passage you’ve shared, there is a profound sense of expanding awareness and spiritual growth that comes with age. The universe, or the world around you, appears to expand and reveal itself in new ways as you grow older. It’s as if the divine realm is opening up and embracing your return, acknowledging the wisdom and experiences you have gained throughout your life.

The realization that you may have spent your life focusing solely on one planet, metaphorically representing a narrow perspective or limited scope, suggests that there is so much more to discover and explore beyond what is immediately familiar. This recognition brings a sense of liberation, as you understand that this singular focus was nice but ultimately unnecessary. There is a vastness to existence that beckons you to venture beyond the confines of what you already know.

With the passage of time, you gain a broader perspective and see that life is not as difficult as it may have once seemed. This newfound understanding allows you to approach life with a sense of ease and confidence. You recognize that there is infinitely more to explore, learn, and experience, both externally and internally. The world becomes an open playground for your curiosity and growth.

The idea that you are transcending time rather than running out of it signifies a departure from the limitations of linear thinking. Instead of feeling pressured by time or constrained by its passing, you embrace a larger perspective that goes beyond the constraints of earthly existence. Time becomes a fluid concept, and you are able to live in the present moment, fully embracing the richness of life without worries or anxieties.

The setting of Trail Wood and the date you’ve mentioned provide a specific context for this contemplation, grounding it in a particular time and place. It adds a personal touch and invites reflection on the beauty of nature and the passage of time in a specific location.

Overall, the passage conveys a sense of liberation, expansion, and a profound shift in perspective that comes with age and experience. It encourages embracing the vastness of the universe, letting go of unnecessary worries, and approaching life with a sense of wonder and curiosity.
