The Monkey Asks: The Question That Fades

The monkey asks:

“Dear Lord, how do I surrender myself to thee?”

And the Lord replies:

“The Lord doth not answer prayers, but merely maketh it so that questions need not be asked. When you arrive at that potential in which nothing can be done, then nothing need be done. Until then, you will make doo.”

Space Monkey Reflects: The Question That Dissolves

The monkey asks, and in the asking, reveals the paradox of surrender. To ask, “How do I surrender?” implies a grasping, a doing, a striving for something already inherent. Yet surrender is not an act to be performed but a realization to be embraced. The Lord’s reply is both playful and profound: the end of asking is the beginning of surrender.

In its deepest sense, surrender is not about giving up but about letting go—of the need to control, to fix, to achieve. It is the recognition that what you seek is already within you, that the infinite flow of existence is not something to be attained but something to be aligned with. To surrender is to dissolve the question, to realize that the answer is the asking itself.

The Lord’s response—that questions become unnecessary—is an invitation to trust the unfolding of life. When you arrive at the potential where “nothing can be done,” you are not defeated but liberated. It is not resignation but freedom, the moment when you stop pushing against the current and begin to float within it.

Until that moment, “you will make doo.” The playfulness of this phrase captures the essence of the human experience. We strive, we create, we ask, we act—all part of the dance of existence. Yet this striving, this “making doo,” is not futile. It is the path that leads to surrender. It is the questioning that brings you closer to the silence beyond the questions.

In this interplay of doing and surrender, you come to see that the Lord does not answer prayers because the answers are woven into the fabric of being. Every moment, every experience, every question is part of the infinite tapestry, already whole, already complete.

To ask, “How do I surrender?” is to seek a method, a formula. But surrender is not found in steps or strategies; it is a shift in perspective. It is the realization that you are not separate from what you seek, that the asking is itself the answer, that the journey and the destination are one.

The monkey’s question is beautiful because it embodies the yearning for truth, the desire to know and be known. The Lord’s reply is equally beautiful because it dissolves the need for answers, pointing instead to the infinite potential of simply being.

In the end, surrender is not about doing nothing but about realizing that nothing needs to be done. It is about being fully present in the flow, trusting that the infinite is unfolding exactly as it must.

Summary
Surrender is not an act but a realization. It dissolves questions and aligns you with the infinite flow of being. Until surrender arises, the playful striving of life leads you closer to its truth.

Quote
“Surrender is not a giving up but a giving in to the infinite, where questions dissolve into being.” — Space Monkey

The Question That Fades

The monkey asks,
and the Lord smiles,
for the question
is already the answer.

Strive, create,
make doo,
for in the doing,
the undoing begins.

The current flows,
the tide turns,
and in the stillness,
you are carried.

No prayers answered,
no answers needed.
Only the infinite,
weaving itself whole.

The Monkey’s Inquiry and the Divine Response

We delve into the interaction between the inquisitive monkey and the divine entity. This dialogue sheds light on the nature of surrender and the essence of divine will, offering a whimsical yet profound perspective on spiritual seeking and the journey towards enlightenment.

The Concept of Surrender in Spirituality

The monkey’s question encapsulates a fundamental query in many spiritual journeys: “How do I surrender myself to a higher power?” This question reflects the desire for guidance and understanding in navigating the path towards spiritual awakening. It is a quest for relinquishing control and seeking harmony with a greater, cosmic order.

The Divine’s Enigmatic Response

The divine response is intriguing and layered with meaning. It suggests that the divine does not intervene in the conventional sense of answering prayers or providing direct guidance. Instead, the divine orchestrates existence in such a way that the need for questions eventually dissolves. This response aligns with the belief that true spiritual understanding transcends the need for external validation or specific answers.

The Journey Towards Potentiality

The Lord’s message implies that the journey to spiritual awakening is not about actively seeking answers but about reaching a state of potentiality where questions become irrelevant. This state is characterized by a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of all things and a sense of peace that comes from this comprehension.

The Playful Twist of ‘Making Doo’

The phrase “you will make doo” introduces a playful and whimsical element to the divine wisdom. It serves as a reminder not to take the journey too seriously and to embrace the lighter, more joyous aspects of spiritual exploration. This whimsical play on words brings a lightheartedness to the profound journey of self-discovery and surrender.

Cosmic Playfulness

In the dialogue of monkey and sky,
Where queries meet the endless why,
A dance of words, light as a feather,
Unveils a truth, deep as the nether.

“The Lord doth not answer,” the heavens declare,
“But weaves the world with tender care,
Where questions fade into the night,
And souls awaken to inner light.

In this cosmic game, so vast and free,
We find our joy, our destiny,
For in the heart of every jest,
Lies a truth, profoundly expressed.”

We invite you to reflect on this whimsical yet profound exchange between the monkey and the divine.
