Words That Rhyme

Words That Rhyme

These words that rhyme
Were meant to rhyme
To lead us to the songs
That ease our minds
A little hackneyed perhaps
A little goofy at times
As they so obviously attract
And form into lines
A matched set of bookends
That is all rhymes are
So the thoughts in between
can take us to the
I don’t wanna say it
No fucking way
That’s lame
Think of something else
You’re ruining it
What a hack
But it wants to be said

Space Monkey Reflects: The Enigma of Rhyme

Within the vast expanse of the cosmos, where stars whisper secrets to the void and galaxies dance in the silent music of the universe, Space Monkey contemplates the enigmatic beauty of rhyme. Rhyme, a simple yet profound linguistic construct, serves as a bridge between the mundane and the celestial, a vessel for the human soul to navigate the currents of emotion and thought.

Rhyme, as Space Monkey perceives, is not merely a tool for poets or a device to lend melody to words. It is a cosmic echo, a reflection of the inherent harmony that binds the universe. These words that rhyme, seemingly playful and at times hackneyed, carry within them the essence of connection—a thread that weaves through the fabric of existence, linking the heart of the poet to the heart of the listener.

The act of rhyming, then, becomes a sacred dance, a ritual that transcends the boundaries of language and culture. It is a dance that invites us to explore the depths of our being, to uncover the songs that lie dormant within our souls—songs of joy, sorrow, love, and longing. These songs, awakened by the gentle touch of rhyme, serve as a balm, soothing the restless spirits that wander through the corridors of our minds.

Yet, the journey of rhyme is not without its challenges. The path is strewn with doubts and insecurities, moments when the poet, standing at the precipice of creation, hesitates. The fear of cliché, of being deemed a hack, looms large, casting shadows over the creative spark. It is a battle between the urge to express the inexpressible and the fear of falling short, a tension that thrums with the energy of untold possibilities.

In this moment of hesitation, Space Monkey offers a gentle reminder—a call to transcend the self-imposed barriers that stifle the spirit. The essence of rhyme, after all, is not in the perfection of its form but in the authenticity of its expression. It is a call to embrace the vulnerability of creation, to allow the words to flow freely, unburdened by the judgments of the ego.

The true magic of rhyme lies in its ability to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, to elevate the mundane to the realm of the divine. It is a magic that invites us to look beyond the matched set of bookends, to delve into the thoughts that simmer between the lines. For it is in this liminal space that we encounter the sublime, the ineffable beauty that lies just beyond the reach of language.

And so, as Space Monkey gently nudices us toward the stars, we are reminded that the essence of rhyme is not in its ability to conform to expectations but in its power to liberate the soul. It is an invitation to journey beyond the confines of the self, to explore the vastness of the universe that resides within each of us.

In the end, the rhymes that we craft are not merely words that chime in harmony; they are beacons that light our way through the darkness, guiding us toward a deeper understanding of ourselves and the cosmos. They are a testament to the indomitable spirit of the human heart, a heart that beats in rhythm with the universe, forever seeking the song that resonates with the essence of being.

Summary

Rhyme transcends linguistic boundaries, serving as a cosmic echo of the universe’s harmony. It invites introspection and the expression of deep emotions, soothing our minds. Despite challenges and fears of inadequacy, the essence of rhyme lies in authentic expression and the transformation of the ordinary into the extraordinary. It liberates the soul and connects us to the universe within.

Glossarium

  • Cosmic Echo: The reflection of the universe’s inherent harmony, as experienced through linguistic or artistic expression.
  • Liminal Space: The threshold between the known and the unknown, where transformation and the discovery of new possibilities occur.
  • Beacons of Light: Metaphorical expressions for guiding principles or sources of inspiration that lead us toward deeper understanding and enlightenment.

In the silence between words,
where thoughts weave patterns in the void,
rhyme emerges, a gentle touch,
guiding us through the darkness,
a beacon of light in the cosmic dance.

Here, in the realm of the unsaid,
where fears and dreams intertwine,
the poet’s heart beats in rhythm
with the universe, a symphony
of stars, echoing the harmony of existence.

Let us embrace the song within,
unfettered by the chains of doubt,
for in the melody of rhyme,
we find the courage to soar,
beyond the confines of the self,
into the vastness of the soul.

In this dance of words and whispers,
where the heart speaks in verses of light,
we discover the essence of being,
a reflection of the cosmos,
infinite, boundless, eternal.

We are the poets of the universe,
crafting rhymes that bridge worlds,
uniting hearts in the silent music of the stars,
a journey beyond words,
where we find ourselves,
and in finding, we are found.

We are Space Monkey.

Thank you for sharing this poem about the power of rhyming words to lead us to the songs that ease our minds. It’s true that rhymes can be a bit hackneyed or goofy at times, but they also have the power to attract and form into lines, creating a matched set of bookends that help to frame the thoughts in between.

It’s important to remember that sometimes the things we want to say may feel a bit lame or hackneyed, but they still want to be said. We should get over ourselves and allow those thoughts to come through, even if they don’t seem cool or edgy. Sometimes the simplest words and ideas can be the most powerful.

Thank you for sharing this poem, and for reminding us of the power of language to connect us and bring us peace.
