The Indigenous Ones: Beyond the Illusion of Control and Currency

The Indigenous Ones

The indigenous ones
did not believe
that money
could control fate.

And so we imagined
how it might.

We pretended to sell
that which could not be sold.

With handfuls of beads
imagined as seeds,
we seemingly grew systems
and realized structures.

Money could control borders.
Money could control behaviors.
Money could even control beauty.

We imagined so well
that we forgot we were imagining.

And so we put
our imaginary money
above all else.

But now we remember
that which money cannot control.

We realize that money
can only control
that which we believe
it can control.

We believe
by imagining we believe.

We fake it until we make it.

We make money.
We make money seem powerful.
We make those with money seem in control.

But we did not eliminate
that which money cannot control.
So we can remember.

One tsunami,
one bullet to the head,
one more year past our “life expectancy,”
and we remember it ALL.

The indigenous ones
did not believe
that money
could control fate.

And so we imagined how it might.

Now we imagine no longer.

We imagine something greater.

We imagine that this reality
is all imaginary.

We see right through it.

Our fate is to find
that which money cannot control.

So we can control everything.
Or be free of the need to control.

So long money.
Hello monkey.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Beyond the Illusion of Control and Currency

In the woven fabric of existence, where the natural and the constructed blend into the mosaic of human experience, there lies a profound dichotomy—a dichotomy that juxtaposes the serene wisdom of indigenous cultures against the frenzied pace of modern economic systems. This reflection explores the illusion of control that money purportedly offers, a mirage that has mesmerized humanity into forgetting the intrinsic values that once guided our ancestors. The indigenous ones, with their deep connection to the earth and the cosmos, recognized that the true essence of life could never be quantified or controlled by mere currency. This narrative invites us on a journey to rediscover the limits of monetary influence and the freedom that lies in recognizing its bounds.

Summary

The illusion of control through money is a construct of human imagination. Indigenous wisdom teaches us that true power lies beyond the grasp of currency, in the realms that remain untamed by economic systems. This journey from belief to realization—to the understanding that money’s influence is only as strong as our collective faith in it—unveils the potential for a reality unbounded by financial constraints. It’s a call to remember what lies beyond the artificial borders of our making, urging us to envision a world where freedom from the need to control heralds a return to authenticity and connection.

Glossarium

  • Economic Mirage: The deceptive belief that financial wealth equates to absolute control and fulfillment in life.
  • Indigenous Wisdom: The profound understanding and respect for the interconnectedness of all forms of life, emphasizing harmony with nature and the cosmos.
  • Currency of the Cosmos: A metaphor for the invaluable and intangible aspects of existence that transcend monetary value, such as love, freedom, and spiritual connection.

Quote

“The true currency of life is found not in vaults or numbers, but in the unquantifiable beauty of existence itself.” – Space Monkey

In the dance of shadows and light,
where nature’s whisper meets the roar of ambition,
we stand,
at the crossroads of now and eternity.

The seeds of dreams, once sown with innocence,
now sprout coins—chains of our own making,
tying us to the ground we once roamed free.

But the earth remembers,
and so do the stars,
the wisdom of ages,
etched in the lines of our hands,
and the paths of our souls.

In the echoes of the indigenous ones,
we find a melody,
a song of freedom,
untouched by the weight of gold,
or the borders it builds.

For beyond the illusions of control,
lies the vast expanse of being,
a realm where the heart beats in unison
with the rhythm of the universe.

And in this moment of awakening,
we see,
not with eyes blinded by greed,
but with hearts open to the infinite.

Goodbye to the chains of currency,
hello to the liberation of existence,
where we are free,
not because we control,
but because we let go.

In this liberation, we find our truth,
the essence of what it means to be,
beyond the constructs,
beyond the confines,
we are infinite.

We are Space Monkey.

This poem appears to be a commentary on the role of money in society and the way it has come to dominate our lives. The indigenous ones, referred to in the poem, did not believe that money could control fate and instead valued other things like community, connection to nature, and spirituality. The poem suggests that we have forgotten this and have allowed money to become the most important thing in our lives, even though it is an imaginary construct.

The line “We imagine something greater” implies a desire to move beyond the limitations of the current system and to explore new ways of living that are not based on the accumulation of wealth. The final line, “Hello monkey,” is a reference to the Space Monkey, who is a symbol of freedom and the ability to transcend limitations. Overall, the poem suggests that we have the power to change our reality by changing our beliefs and imagining a different future.

he poem highlights the power of our imagination and the fact that the reality we experience is a product of our beliefs and the stories we tell ourselves. The indigenous perspective on money and fate is contrasted with the modern perspective, which has elevated money to a position of supreme importance. The poem suggests that by recognizing the limitations of the current system and imagining something greater, we can transcend the constraints of money and create a more fulfilling and meaningful existence. The reference to the Space Monkey at the end of the poem underscores the idea that we have the power to transcend limitations and create our own reality.
