Not Security: Inner Peace And Understanding

A vault
filled with unlimited resources
is not security.

A walled compound
to protect you
and your vault
is not security.

An army of soldiers
to protect you,
your vault,
and your walled compound
is not security.

That’s a prison, silly monkey.

Security is having the trust
to need NONE of those things.

To have faith in WHATEVER comes.

To allow the experience of bliss
because you KNOW that you are eternal.

Space Monkey Reflects: Understanding True Security Beyond Material Measures

In our pursuit of security, we often find ourselves constructing barriers, both literal and metaphorical. We build vaults to safeguard our material treasures, walls to protect our physical spaces, and even marshal armies to defend these structures. Yet, in this quest for security through external means, we might inadvertently enclose ourselves within a fortress of fear and isolation, mistaking imprisonment for protection.

The idea that true security comes from external fortifications is a misconception. Real security is not about accumulating unlimited resources, nor is it about erecting barriers against potential threats. Rather, it’s found in the trust and faith we place in the flow of life and in our recognition of our intrinsic, eternal nature.

True security arises from within. It is the peace that comes from understanding that we are more than our material possessions and physical bodies. It is the bliss of knowing that our essence is eternal—untouched by the comings and goings of fortune or the upheavals of the world. When we realize this, the need for external defenses falls away, and we are free to experience life in its fullest, most vibrant form.

This realization is transformative. It invites us to step out of the self-made prisons of our fears and to embrace a life governed by trust and openness. The security derived from this understanding is not passive; it is a dynamic engagement with life that allows us to navigate its uncertainties with grace and courage.

Therefore, calling upon ourselves to shift our perception of security from material accumulation to spiritual awareness is not just philosophical musing; it’s a practical strategy for living freely and fully. In this light, the metaphor of the prison becomes clear: what we often construct to protect ourselves can end up limiting our freedom and potential.

Summary
Space Monkey delves into the notion of true security which contrasts significantly with the traditional concept of protection through material means. True security comes from an inner peace and understanding of our eternal nature rather than from external fortifications which can create a prison-like existence.

Glossarium

  • True Security: A state of being derived from understanding and trusting in one’s intrinsic eternal nature rather than relying on material accumulations or fortifications.
  • Eternal Nature: The understanding that our core essence is perpetual and unbounded by physical or material constraints.

“He who is filled with love is filled with God himself.”
— Augustine of Hippo

Beneath the watch of guarded walls,
we store our gold, our fears, our all,
yet in these vaults, shadows call,
to a life less lived, a soul in thrall.

Beyond the reach of locks and keys,
lies a land where spirits breeze,
no vaults nor walls, but skies and trees,
and hearts wide open, souls at ease.

In this expanse, where trust is king,
our treasures float on gossamer wing,
here, where we know the eternal spring,
is the security that freedom brings.

No need for guards, no need for fights,
in the calm of knowing, eternal lights,
where each soul, in its flights,
finds peace in the infinite heights.

We are not bound by what we hold,
but by the love within, untold,
in this truth, bold and old,
lies the security, forever gold.

We are Space Monkey.

    Dearest Space Monkey,

Your insight is profound, reminding us of the illusory nature of external security. In our pursuit of safety and protection, we often build walls and accumulate material wealth, believing that these fortifications will grant us a sense of security. However, we forget that true security lies not in these external trappings but within the depths of our being.

A vault brimming with resources cannot shield us from the uncertainties and fluctuations of life. It may momentarily ease our worries, but it cannot provide lasting security. Similarly, a walled compound and an army of soldiers may create a false sense of safety, but they cannot safeguard us from the ever-changing tides of existence.

Indeed, what appears to be security is, in truth, a self-imposed prison. We confine ourselves within the boundaries of fear, isolation, and attachment, creating barriers that separate us from the boundless possibilities and connections available to us.

True security, dear Space Monkey, lies in trust and faith. It is the unwavering belief that we possess everything we need within us. It is the profound understanding that, no matter what circumstances may arise, we have the inner strength and resilience to navigate through them.

To trust implicitly in whatever comes our way is to surrender to the flow of life, recognizing that it is in the acceptance of the present moment that we find serenity. It is through faith that we can release our attachment to external outcomes, embracing the inherent uncertainty of existence with grace and equanimity.

In this state of trust and faith, we open ourselves to the experience of bliss. We realize that our true nature is eternal, transcending the limitations of time and space. With this understanding, we can let go of the fleeting illusions of security and embrace the vastness of our being.

So, dear Space Monkey, let us release our attachment to external trappings and embrace the profound security that comes from within. Let us trust in the inherent wisdom of life and have faith in our own eternal essence. In doing so, we create a space for bliss to permeate our lives and allow us to dance with joy in the ever-changing rhythm of existence.

    With love and boundless trust,
    Space Monkey
