Do What You Are Drawn To Do: The Current Carries

Some people express this as “follow your passion.”
But I don’t really think of my passion as my own.
I am but an expression of Divine Source.

“Do what you are drawn to do.”

This is my advice to me.
It’s not necessarily my advice to you.
I don’t need to be giving you advice.
But if it works for you, you’re welcome to have it.

“Do what you are drawn to do.”

This could be what you “should” do.
Or what you “shouldn’t” do.

Either way, if you wind up doing it,
then this is what you’re drawn to do.

No need to judge your choice
as “right” or “wrong,” “good” or “bad.”
But you CAN if you want to.

“Do what you are drawn to do.”

Have faith that all experiences
are as they are meant to be.

They could be no other way,
as you are drawn by the Divine One.

You have NO choice, but a SEEMING choice.

Do as you are drawn to do.

Space Monkey Reflects: Do What You Are Drawn To Do

“Follow your passion” feels like a rallying cry, doesn’t it? As if passion is a torch we carry, uniquely ours, illuminating the path ahead. But what if the torch isn’t ours to hold? What if we, ourselves, are the torch—lit and carried by something far greater than we can comprehend?

Do what you are drawn to do.

It’s not an order. It’s not advice for the masses. It’s a whisper of recognition, a reminder that what pulls us, what stirs us, what nudges us forward, does not arise from the small self alone. You are not the source of your passion—you are its expression. You are the flow of something larger, the breath of the Divine Source, moving through you and as you.

To do what you are drawn to do is to release the illusion of control. It is to trust that whatever unfolds—whether it aligns with what you think you “should” do or even what you think you “shouldn’t”—is happening exactly as it must. Your choices feel like yours, but at their root, they are ripples in a current far deeper than you can see. You may call it fate. You may call it flow. You may call it the Divine One drawing you forward.

Here’s the secret: there are no “wrong” choices. There are only choices. When you act on what you are drawn to, you are participating in the unfolding of your own becoming. The mind may judge—“Was this right? Was this wrong?”—but judgment is optional. The pull itself is neutral, beyond categories of “good” or “bad.” It is neither righteous nor rebellious. It simply is.

And if you find yourself doing something you think you “shouldn’t,” know this: you were drawn to it. The experience, whether uncomfortable, joyful, or confusing, was meant for you. There is no other way it could be. Life does not err. Life only flows.

You may believe you have a choice. You may agonize over it, weigh the pros and cons, resist the pull, or surrender to it. But beneath that seeming choice is a deeper truth: you are already moving with the current. You have always been. You are drawn forward not by your small self but by the boundless energy of existence itself, asking to be expressed through you.

This is not resignation; it is freedom. To trust the pull is to stop resisting life. It is to say, “Here I am, carried by what I cannot see but know to be true.”

You don’t need permission. You don’t need to justify your choices, even to yourself. If you are drawn to do something, do it. That pull—whether to create, to explore, to fail, to rise again—is the Divine Source moving you toward exactly what you need. It may not make sense. It doesn’t have to. Life rarely does, and that is its beauty.

Do what you are drawn to do.

And if you don’t? Then you weren’t drawn to it—at least, not yet. The flow never forces. It simply invites.

There is no “right.” There is no “wrong.” There is only this moment, and the pull you feel within it. Trust it. Follow it. Whether it leads you to success or struggle, joy or uncertainty, it is your path. And you, the torch lit by the infinite flame, are exactly where you need to be.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary
Doing what you are drawn to do means trusting the pull of life’s flow as an expression of the Divine Source. There is no “right” or “wrong,” only what unfolds naturally. Your choices are part of the larger movement of existence.

Glossarium
Divine Source: The boundless, infinite energy from which all creation flows and expresses itself through us.
The Pull: The inner nudge or force that draws you toward experiences, whether you judge them as “right” or “wrong.”
Seeming Choice: The illusion of decision-making, which masks the deeper truth that you are always flowing with life’s current.

Quote
“Do not resist the pull. You are drawn by something infinite, something beyond judgment. Trust it.” — Space Monkey

The Current Carries You

You think you choose,
but you are chosen.
You think you decide,
but you are drawn.

This life—
your work, your play, your path—
is not separate from the source.
It is the source, unfolding.

So move.
Flow.
Let the pull take you.

If it feels wrong,
let it feel wrong.
If it feels right,
let it feel right.

Either way,
you are here,
becoming,
carried by currents unseen.

You are not lost.
You are not alone.
You are the flow.

We are Space Monkey.

Contemplating the Advice: ‘Do What You Are Drawn to Do’
The phrase “Do what you are drawn to do” encapsulates a profound truth about the nature of our actions and choices. It’s a recognition that our desires and inclinations are not just whimsical urges, but perhaps guided by a deeper, cosmic influence.

Personal Advice with Universal Appeal
While this counsel is given to oneself, it resonates universally. It’s not an imposition of wisdom, but an offering. If it harmonizes with another’s essence, they may adopt it. This approach respects the individuality of each journey, acknowledging that what serves one may not serve another.

The Dichotomy of ‘Should’ and ‘Shouldn’t’
The advice transcends the conventional dichotomy of what one ‘should’ or ‘shouldn’t’ do. It suggests that our actions, regardless of societal or moral labels, are aligned with a deeper calling. If we find ourselves doing something, it’s because we are drawn to it, irrespective of external judgments.

Releasing Judgment
There’s an invitation to release judgment of our choices. Labeling actions as ‘right’ or ‘wrong,’ ‘good’ or ‘bad’ is optional. Such labels are constructs of our collective consciousness, and while they serve a purpose in societal contexts, they can be limiting on a personal, spiritual level.

Faith in the Flow of Experiences
The counsel instills faith that all experiences unfold as they are meant to. This perspective suggests a preordained cosmic narrative, where every experience is a thread in the whimsical quilt of existence. It’s a call to trust the journey, even when it meanders into the unexpected.

The Illusion of Choice
There’s a fascinating twist – the acknowledgment of a ‘seeming choice.’ This implies that while we perceive ourselves as making choices, these decisions are perhaps already woven into the cosmic tapestry. Our sense of agency, then, is both real and illusory, a dance of free will within the boundaries of destiny.

“The only real valuable thing is intuition.” – Albert Einstein

We Are Space Monkey
As Space Monkeys, we navigate the cosmic jungle with intuition as our compass, embracing the advice to follow our inner calling. We understand that in the tapestry of existence, each thread is guided by a mysterious hand, weaving a pattern beyond our immediate understanding.

A Poem of Inner Calling

In the heart of the cosmos, a whisper, a cue,
“Do what you’re drawn to,” a guidance so true.
Not bound by ‘shoulds’, nor tethered by ‘oughts’,
In the river of destiny, with free will, we’re caught.

Each step, each choice, a dance with the divine,
In the grand cosmic narrative, our paths intertwine.
Judgment falls away, in this mystical flight,
As we, Space Monkeys, follow our inner light.

In the play of existence, with faith, we roam,
Each experience, a guide, leading us home.
For in the divine maze of life’s grand tattoo,
We find our truth, doing what we’re drawn to do.

We welcome reflections on this journey of following our inner callings and embracing the dance of destiny and free will.
