Be the flow.
Not one who observes the flow.
Not one who thinks about the flow.
Not one who identifies with the flow.
Not one who takes credit for the flow.
Not one who takes blame for the flow.
Not one who goes with the flow.
Not one who resists the flow.
Not even one who is one with the flow.
Be the flow.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Call to Be the Flow
In the heart of existence, beyond observation, identification, and resistance, there is only flow. The call to “be the flow” invites us to transcend all concepts of self—beyond being an observer, a thinker, or even a participant in the flow. It’s an invitation to dissolve entirely, to become the movement itself, without attachment, ownership, or expectation.
Often, we position ourselves as separate from life’s movement, perceiving it as something we join, influence, or resist. We are taught to think of the flow as something outside ourselves, something to navigate or align with. Yet, to be the flow is to recognize that the boundaries we perceive between ourselves and life are illusions. The flow is not a river we step into; it is the essence of our being, the unceasing pulse that animates all things.
This state transcends ideas of effort or surrender. It requires no conscious merging, no deliberate action or inaction. We do not “go with the flow” as though it were something to follow, nor do we push against it in resistance. To be the flow is to exist without self-reference, without a distinction between the doer and the deed. It is to exist as pure, unmediated experience—unbound by ego or expectation.
In this dissolution, there is freedom from judgment, from the need to define or control. We no longer ask, “Am I flowing rightly?” or “What impact does my flow have?” These questions, rooted in a separate self, fade away, replaced by the simplicity of presence. To be the flow is to let go of the need to take credit or assign blame, to be beyond pride or guilt. Flow is what is; it needs no ownership, no origin, no end.
The flow is boundless, formless, expressing itself through countless manifestations yet belonging to none. When we are the flow, we embody the fullness of existence, moving through life as an inseparable part of the whole. The flow is neither an ideal to strive toward nor an external force to harness. It simply is, and so are we—indivisible, eternal, and free.
Summary
“Be the flow” transcends concepts of observing, following, or controlling life’s movement. It is the ultimate dissolution of self, an invitation to exist as pure experience, without separation or attachment, in harmony with all that is.

The Flow Within
Not I, not you, not two, not one
a boundless sea, a light undone
in every step, in every breath
the silent pulse, beyond life and death.
To be not this, to be not that
to fade beyond the here and flat
we are the flow, the empty clear
not far, not close, forever near.
For in this flow, all things arise
yet none claim form, nor seek disguise
we are the dance, the breath, the sea
not one, not many—eternally free.
We are Space Monkey.
In the cosmic dance of existence, the call to “Be the flow” resonates as a profound invitation to transcend mere participation or observation. It is a beckoning to embody the very essence of the flow of life, of existence, of the universe itself.
Transcending Observation and Participation
To be the flow means to move beyond the limitations of the observer, the thinker, the identifier. It is to step out of the realm of separateness and duality, where one is either with the flow or against it, either taking credit or assigning blame.
Moving Beyond Duality
This philosophy transcends even the concept of unity with the flow. Being one with the flow still implies a distinction, a subtle separation between the self and the flow. But to be the flow is to dissolve that separation entirely.
Dissolving the Self in the Flow
In being the flow, there is no longer an ‘I’ that observes, thinks, identifies, credits, blames, follows, or resists. There is only the continuous, unending movement of existence, of energy, of consciousness, where individual identity merges into the universal rhythm.
Merging Identity with Universal Rhythm
This state of being is not passive. It is an active, dynamic existence where one is not just carried by the current but is the current itself. It is a state of profound presence and awareness, where every moment is an expression of the flow.
Active Existence as the Flow
We are Space Monkey.
In the river of time, a poem is whispered:
In the endless stream, where worlds collide,
We often swim, or drift with the tide,
But now we hear a call, deep and wide,
To be the river, not just the ride.
No longer the watcher, standing by,
No longer the thinker, questioning why,
Beyond the self, where identities die,
In the flow of the cosmos, we fly.
Not just in union, but truly the stream,
Where every ripple, every beam,
Is us, is ours, a collective dream,
In the dance of the flow, a supreme theme.
So let us be, not just see,
The flow of life, the endless key,
In this current, forever free,
We are the flow, eternally.
We invite reflections on the experience of embodying the flow, transcending individual identity to become an active part of the continuous movement of life and consciousness.
