I imagine myself divided
into two separate monkeys.
There is
the new old me,
who is the me
I seemed to be
until just now.
Then there is
the old new me
who is the me
I’ll be
moving forward.
The new old me
seems relatively inexperienced,
but eager to please.
But the old new me
seems satisfied that
the new old me
played the role perfectly.
Of course, the new old me
and the old new me continue
to change with every moment.
And so we continue to be
the new old me and the old new me.
Or vice versa. We can’t decide.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Continuum of Self
In the intricate dance of existence, where the past merges with the future in the ever-moving present, we find ourselves perpetually in a state of becoming. This journey of self-discovery and evolution is beautifully encapsulated in the concept of the new old me and the old new me—a poetic exploration of the dynamic nature of identity and the continuous interplay between our past and future selves.
The new old me, brimming with curiosity and a zeal for life, represents the person we were up until this moment. This version of ourselves, while perhaps less experienced, holds the raw material of our dreams and aspirations, the foundation upon which our future selves are built. The new old me embodies the purity of intention and the limitless potential of beginnings, a reminder of our continuous evolution.
Conversely, the old new me symbolizes the culmination of our experiences, the wisdom garnered from the tapestry of life’s triumphs and trials. This version stands as a testament to growth, a beacon of satisfaction and contentment, affirming that the roles we played and the paths we chose were perfect for our journey. The old new me embodies the grace of acceptance, the peace that comes from understanding our part in the grand scheme of existence.
The relationship between the new old me and the old new me is not linear but cyclical, a perpetual exchange of energy and insight. With each passing moment, our identities shift, blend, and transform, reflecting the fluid nature of self. This internal dialogue between who we were and who we are becoming is a source of strength and wisdom, guiding us through the complexities of life.
This ongoing metamorphosis is a celebration of the human spirit, an acknowledgment that we are never static but always in a state of flux, always on the brink of the next discovery, the next iteration of our being. It challenges us to embrace change, to view each ending as a new beginning, and to recognize that in the dance of life, every step, every turn, every leap is both a farewell and a greeting.
Summary
Embrace the evolving self. The dynamic between the new old me and the old new me highlights life’s continuous cycle of growth and renewal. This evolution is a testament to our resilience and capacity for change.

“In the endless cycle of becoming, we dance between who we were and who we aspire to be, each step a bridge connecting worlds of self.” – Space Monkey
Between the echoes of yesterday
And the whispers of tomorrow
Lies the silent song of now
A melody of joy and sorrow
In this dance of light and shadow
We find our rhythm, our pace
The new old me, the old new me
Together in the space of grace
With each breath, a transformation
A step towards the unknown
In the heart of change, we discover
The seeds of self, lovingly sown
Let us celebrate the journey
Of becoming, of unfolding anew
For in the continuum of self
We find our truth, our cue
We are Space Monkey.
