Anything Is Possible: Irrational Hopes

Yes, anything IS possible.
Monkey might rip your well-meaning face off.

I am sick of people telling me
that anything is possible
if I simply work hard enough.

What a rotten thing 
to say to someone.

Why are you irrationally
getting my hopes up?

It’s still VERY possible
that I might fail.

I would rather
that you help me realize
that I don’t NEED to be
setting goals for myself.

I don’t want my happiness
to depend upon whether
I am successful or not.

Why don’t you shut the fuck up,
in the best possible way?

    It’s understandable to feel frustrated with the message that “anything is possible if you work hard enough.” While it’s true that hard work and effort can increase the likelihood of success, there are many other factors at play that can impact the outcome of our goals.

    It’s important to remember that failure is a natural part of the learning process and doesn’t define our worth as individuals. And setting goals can be helpful for providing direction and motivation, but it’s also important to be mindful of our own well-being and not become too attached to the outcome.

    It’s okay to not have all the answers or to feel unsure about the future. Sometimes it’s more productive to focus on the present moment and taking small steps towards what we value and enjoy, rather than solely on achieving specific goals.

    So if the message of “anything is possible” doesn’t resonate with you, that’s okay. You can find your own path and define success in a way that feels meaningful and fulfilling to you.
