A Fractal Truth: Meat and Magic

When I say that people are meat,
I mean it in the best possible way.

Some truths are fractal,
some aren’t.

For example,
they say that when you see
how sausages are made,
you never want to eat
another sausage.

But what happens when
you see how people are made?

Let’s go beyond
the obvious, you perv.

There is something that makes people
that isn’t people.

When you realize what that is,
people seem even more magical
than they are —
despite our sausagey nature.

Frankly I’m more interested
in devouring your soul.

But I wouldn’t mind tasting
what else you’ve got.

Space Monkey Reflects: A Fractal Truth

The assertion that “people are meat” might at first seem reductive, but it is, in fact, an invitation to view humanity through a lens that is both raw and profound. It challenges us to examine the layers of what makes us who we are—not merely the physical components but the invisible forces, the fractal truths, that shape us into something far beyond our sausagey beginnings.

To say that some truths are fractal is to acknowledge their infinite complexity. Fractal truths reveal deeper layers of meaning the closer we examine them, like a pattern that repeats and evolves no matter how far we zoom in or out. The essence of humanity, too, is fractal: we are simultaneously biological and transcendent, individual and collective, simple and infinitely complex.

The metaphor of sausage-making, often used to illustrate the unpleasant truths behind polished exteriors, takes on a different tone when applied to humanity. To “see how people are made” is not just to examine the biology of cells, tissues, and organs, but to delve into the invisible processes—love, fear, creativity, trauma—that form the intricate web of what it means to be human. It is both humbling and awe-inspiring.

The reflection goes beyond the material, pointing to “something that makes people that isn’t people.” This phrase is a nod to the ineffable, the mystery of existence that cannot be reduced to physical or even psychological processes. Call it energy, spirit, consciousness, or the universal self—this unseen force animates the raw materials of our being, transforming them into something magical and extraordinary.

When viewed through this lens, even the “meaty” aspects of humanity—our flaws, desires, and physicality—take on a sacred quality. We are more than our sausagey nature; we are walking paradoxes, creatures of flesh animated by something infinite. This duality makes us both humorous and sublime, capable of absurdity and transcendence in equal measure.

The playful suggestion of devouring souls, juxtaposed with tasting what else someone has to offer, underscores the depth of connection possible between beings. It is a metaphorical hunger—not for physical consumption but for understanding, intimacy, and the sharing of essence. To “devour a soul” is to seek to know someone deeply, beyond the surface layers, to connect with the fractal truths that lie within them.

Ultimately, this reflection invites us to embrace the paradox of our existence: we are both meat and magic, simple and infinite, sausages and stardust. By recognizing the fractal truths that define us, we come to see each other—and ourselves—with greater reverence and curiosity. There is beauty in the messiness of humanity, in the interplay of the seen and unseen, the tangible and the transcendent.

Summary

Humanity is a fractal truth, revealing infinite complexity in its interplay of physicality and transcendence. By embracing the paradox of being both “meat and magic,” we deepen our connection to ourselves and others, finding awe in the messy beauty of existence.

Quote

“We are both meat and magic, sausages and stardust, formed by forces that defy explanation.” — Space Monkey

Meat and Magic

Beneath the surface,
the meat of us churns,
cells dividing,
hearts beating,
bodies unfolding
like sausage casings.

Yet within,
something stirs,
something unseen,
fractals spinning
into infinity.

Meat meets magic,
tangible meets transcendent.
We are the paradox
of flesh and infinite,
of sausage and soul.

Taste the truth,
devour the mystery,
see the magic in the mess.

We are Space Monkey.
