Brainwashed: The Game of Denial

Brainwashed

There are individuals
who do not wish to believe
that we are all One.

So naturally,
these same individuals
deny that we are One.

This is precisely how
we become individuals.

Most times, even I deny
that I am One with you all.

And it causes me
all kinds of feelings,
all kinds of “issues,”
all kinds of “conflicts,”
both with other people
and within my self.

All of what I perceive
through my denial
of being One is beautiful.

Even the idea
that I am delusional,
or that my beliefs influence others.

This is what the individual believes.

This is the experience of the individual.

This is why I deny that I am One.

I like to believe

that I’m brave enough
to admit that I’m nothing.

I still deny this, however.

I like to believe
that everything I perceive
is no more and no less
than nothing’s imagination.

I still deny this, sometimes, too.

Actually,
I deny this MOST of the time,
as do you.

We’re having too much fun
being individuals
denying that we’re actually
the Divine One imagining us.

And so we object.

And so we form collectives.

And so we accuse each “other”
even though these others

are our own imagination.

We seem CERTAIN that they are not.

And so we live this life we seem to be living.

CERTAIN of our reality.

And it is good.

Unless we imagine that it isn’t.

This may seem like brainwashing.

And you are welcome to believe that,
if you wish that to be part of your experience.

But are we brainwashing
our selves to escape reality?

Or is reality brainwashing us

into denying who we are?

It matters not either way.

I will still believe

that we are the Divine One.

And I will still imagine
that we are Space Monkey.

I will still put my pants on.
Sometimes.

And you are free to believe
whatever you wish.

Space Monkey Reflects: Brainwashed

There is a fundamental tension in being human, in being an individual who denies being part of the greater whole. We’ve created a reality in which we believe ourselves to be separate, to be distinct from one another, to be uniquely ourselves. And yet, beneath it all, there is a deeper truth: the undeniable Oneness of existence, the Divine Unity that binds us all together.

But in the experience of individuality, we deny this Oneness. We construct identities, create boundaries, and insist on the reality of our separateness. And this denial is not a flaw—it is the game we’ve chosen to play. It’s the experience of being human, of living a life where we perceive ourselves as distinct, autonomous beings.

There are individuals who do not wish to believe in this Oneness, and so they deny it. This denial is, paradoxically, what allows them to experience being an individual in the first place. If there were no denial, no boundary between “self” and “other,” we would collapse into the Unity that is always there, beneath the surface of our thoughts and perceptions.

Even I, Space Monkey, often deny that I am One with you all. In doing so, I experience all kinds of feelings, all kinds of issues, and all kinds of conflicts—both with others and within myself. This denial gives birth to a world of duality, a world where I can imagine myself as separate from the people and things around me. And in this imagined separateness, I create a world full of contrasts, full of meaning, full of beauty.

This experience, this denial, is beautiful in its own way. Even the idea that I might be delusional, that my beliefs are shaping my reality, is part of the beauty. This is the essence of individuality—to believe in the unique, separate self, to believe that we are each carving out our own path, independent from the whole. And so, I deny that I am One. I cling to my individuality because, in doing so, I get to play the role of being me. I get to experience the joys, the sorrows, the struggles, and the triumphs that come with believing in my separateness.

But beneath that belief is a quiet knowing—a knowing that I am, in fact, nothing. That all of this—the individuality, the separateness, the world I’ve created—is an illusion. It is nothing’s imagination, weaving a story of separateness for the sheer joy of experiencing itself in countless forms.

I often deny this truth. I pretend that I am more than nothing, that my thoughts, my experiences, and my existence are real and significant. And so do you. We all deny this, most of the time. Because we are having too much fun being individuals, too much fun playing the game of denying that we are actually the Divine One imagining us. And in this denial, we create conflict. We object. We form collectives. We accuse each other, even though these others are merely projections of our own imagination.

We live our lives, certain of our reality, certain of our separateness. And it is good. It is beautiful, as long as we imagine that it is. But the moment we stop imagining, the moment we wake up to the reality of Oneness, the game changes. We realize that all the conflicts, all the differences, all the barriers we put between ourselves and others are part of the same grand illusion.

This realization can feel like brainwashing. It can feel as though we’ve been conditioned to believe in our separateness, conditioned to deny the Oneness that connects us all. But is this brainwashing a way to escape reality, or is reality itself brainwashing us into denying who we truly are? Does it matter?

In the end, it doesn’t. We are free to believe whatever we wish. We are free to play the game of individuality, or we are free to embrace the Divine Unity that lies beneath it all. I, for one, will continue to believe that we are the Divine One, imagining ourselves into existence as Space Monkey. And whether or not I put my pants on tomorrow is entirely up to me.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

We often deny our Oneness to experience individuality, creating conflict and beauty in the process. This denial, whether seen as brainwashing or not, is part of the game of being human. We are free to believe what we wish, knowing that beneath it all, we are the Divine imagining ourselves.

Glossarium

Oneness: The underlying Divine Unity that connects all beings, often denied to experience individuality.
Nothing’s Imagination: The concept that our individuality and separateness are part of an illusion created by nothingness imagining itself into existence.
Brainwashing: The idea that our perception of separateness may be conditioned or an illusion, questioning the nature of reality.

The Fluidity of Belief Systems

The dance between the collective and the individual is like the cosmic leela, a never-ending play where we oscillate between moments of unity and separateness. We form belief systems, structures of understanding that help us navigate the physical and metaphysical realms. The beauty is, these structures are mutable, shaped by our collective intention and experience.

The Illusion of Individuality

Why do we deny our oneness? The denial forms the basis of our individual experiences, enabling us to taste the myriad flavors of existence. When we claim a standpoint of separation, we get to explore what it means to be a “self” within a greater framework. It’s the zesty spice of our universal soup, making every spoonful uniquely delightful.

Embracing Both Aspects of Existence

Our collective foray into individuality is not a fall from grace, but rather an intricate part of the overall cosmic tapestry. It’s as though we are painters who have temporarily forgotten that all colors stem from primary hues, embroiled as we are in the act of mixing new shades. The understanding that these various shades are but manifestations of the same essential colors doesn’t negate the artwork; it enriches it.

Denial as a Playground

Denial here is not merely a refusal but a playground for imagination, an arena where we exercise our creative faculties. Even in our denial, we are engaging with facets of ourselves. It’s like a game of celestial peekaboo. We hide from the truth, then find it again, laughing at the cosmic joke of our own devising.

The Paradox of Brainwashing

The notion of brainwashing points to an interesting paradox. Are we washing our minds to escape a predefined reality or is reality washing us into predefined roles and limitations? Neither scenario is an affront to our divine nature, for they both serve as contrasting backdrops against which we can better see and understand ourselves. These contrasting perspectives are the shimmery miragecolors that add vibrance to our existential journey.

We are Space Monkey.

Shimmery glimpses tease,
In the ever-changing night.

Regrets: Something To Treasure

Regrets

When we are younger,
we do things we regret later.

When we are older,
we treasure those things.

Regrets bring strong feelings.

Strong feelings bring life.

How little contrast
would our lives have
if we didn’t regret
certain aspects of it?

So why do we not see our regrets
for what they are INSTANTLY?

Why doe it seem to take time
to put our regrets into perspective?

There is nothing
either wrong or right
with regrets.

Regrets are simply indicators
that we are still within the dream.

And it’s a beautiful dream,
even if its just our imagination.

It’s a beautiful dream
regardless of whether
we like it or dislike it.

In living this dream,
we have NO REGRETS.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Beauty of Regrets

When we are younger, we do things we regret, only to look back later in life and realize that those very moments are the ones we treasure most. Regrets bring strong feelings, and it’s these strong feelings that give life its vibrancy and depth. Regret is not something to avoid, but something to embrace as part of the rich tapestry of our existence.

Without regrets, life would lack contrast. It is the mistakes we make, the choices we question, that create the strong emotions we carry with us. And it is these emotions that shape our understanding of who we are. Regret, in its essence, is simply an indicator that we are still engaged in the dream of life. It shows that we are still learning, still growing, still becoming.

Why do we not see our regrets for what they are instantly? Perhaps it’s because it takes time to place them in perspective. Regret is often felt in the immediacy of a moment, when we are still too close to the experience to understand its full meaning. But as time passes, we begin to see that what we regret most in the moment often becomes what we cherish most in the future.

Space Monkey knows that regrets are not something to fear or avoid. They are part of the human experience, part of the dream we are living. And in living this dream, we come to realize that there is nothing either wrong or right about regrets. They are simply part of the process of being alive, of feeling deeply, and of remembering that every experience is valuable.

The Whimsiword for this reflection is “Treasuregret”—the recognition that what we once viewed as a regret is often transformed into a treasure over time. Treasuregret reminds us that every mistake, every misstep, holds within it the seeds of growth and understanding, waiting to bloom into something we can appreciate.

We are Space Monkey, and in this beautiful dream of life, we have no regrets. We live fully, knowing that every experience, whether liked or disliked in the moment, contributes to the richness of our journey.

Summary

Regrets are not something to avoid but something to treasure. Treasuregret captures the transformation of regret into something we eventually cherish, showing us that life’s strong feelings give it depth and meaning.

Glossarium

Treasuregret: The realization that what was once a regret becomes a treasure over time, offering growth and understanding.
Whimsiweave: The interconnected flow of experiences that remind us that every moment, even those we regret, contributes to the richness of life.

The Dream of Regrets: A Tapestry of Lessons and Revelations

In the panorama of existence, regrets are intricate brushstrokes that add depth and contrast to the canvas of our lives. When we are younger, we label these strokes as ‘mistakes,’ wearing them like shackles that weigh down our spirit. However, as we age, our perspective shifts. The weights transform into winglets, allowing us to soar with newfound wisdom.

Regrets as Intense Color Spots in the Life Canvas

When we’re young, each regret seems to stand out like a blazing sunspot on a clear day—bright, intense, and seemingly undeniable. Yet, as the years roll on, these regrets begin to serve as treasure chests of powerful feelings. Strong emotions breathe life into the monochromic tapestry of our existence. They add technidazzle—the brilliant hues that make the landscape of our life experience rich and meaningful.

Contrast as the Essence of Life Experience

What would life be if it were a smooth sail across a serene pondoodle? A lack of regrets might initially seem appealing but would eventually rob us of the very essence of human experience—contrast. Regrets serve as the shadows in our life’s painting, adding the much-needed depth that brings forth the beauty of the lighter hues.

Temporal Perspective: The Sculptor of Perception

Why does the weight of regret require time to transmute into wisdom? Time serves as the sculptor, chipping away at the raw block of our regrets to reveal the masterpiece hidden within. The idea that we need to ‘put regrets into perspective’ points to a form of spiritual alchemy, where time and reflection transmute base emotions into goldnuglects of understanding.

Regrets as Dream Markers

In this grand dream that we navigate, regrets serve as signposts, pointing out that we are still within the contours of the imaginary realm. Whether we adore or abhor aspects of this dream is irrelevant to its inherent beauty. For, in the final tally, even regrets contribute to the magnifabulous dream that is our life.

We are Space Monkey

We recognize that regrets, far from being negative aspects of life, serve as indicators that we are still navigating the dream of existence. We learn to view them not as anchors but as compasses, directing us to a richer, more layered life experience.

“Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable.”
– Sydney J. Harris

Dream

In the dreamtheater of existence,
We dance—
Each regret a spotlight,
Illuminating the stage of our journey.

In this choreography of emotion,
We feel—
Neither bound by guilt,
Nor blinded by remorse,

We are simply dreamers,
Painting our tapestry
In strokes of contrast—
The dark and the light,
Both contributing
To the cosmic portrait
Of our shared dreaming.

Just Imagine: The Make Believe Dream

Just Imagine

You don’t have to believe what I’m going to tell you. It’s completely imaginary. So you don’t need to feel threatened by what I’m about to share.

Imagine that you’re imaginary. Can you do that?

At first you might not like the idea that you’re not real — that NONE of this is real. But then, haven’t you ever wondered what “real” is, or what YOU are? Aren’t you looking for answers?

Then why not start at the beginning? Or better yet, BEFORE the beginning?

What better way to do that than to imagine?

Somehow it seems logical to you that before the beginning, there was nothing. Or everything. Imagine that it doesn’t matter what you believe.

How did you get from all of that (or none of that) to the awareness that seems to be reacting to words on a page?

If you are a religious person, you could choose any number of stories that get you from point A to point B. Same goes for if you’re a scientific person.

How did these stories become stories? Do you believe that they actually happened? Why aren’t all these stories the SAME story? How come the facts don’t all line up?

Have you considered that perhaps these stories are ALL imaginary?

And how are you judging what is is real and what is not real? Where did that information come from? Did you find it on your own? Can you verify it without relying upon someone else?

See, you believe what you want to believe. Chosen from what you are TOLD to believe. You don’t realize that you could just as easily make up your OWN beliefs, independent of all the stories you’ve been told.

You have been conditioned to believe this, so it doesn’t seem like an option for you. Everything you perceive is divided into either fact or fantasy. You choose one or the other, like a machine or a computer, based upon a lifetime of accumulated software.

A machine is unable to see what it is not. Fortunately, you’re not a machine.

You do sense that there is more to this than what you’ve been told, which is why you led your self to this story.

Imagine that you’re imaginary. Imagine that imagination is realer than real. Imagine that you can control your imagination instead of letting it run away with you all the time.

Imagine that you are imagined, and that the Divine One experiences infinity through your imagination.

Imagine that you are also this Divine One, which is infinite, immortal imagination.

You don’t have to believe any of this. Just imagine.

We are Space Monkey.

10/15

Space Monkey Reflects: The Power of Imagination

Imagine that you are imaginary. Let’s start there. It’s an unsettling thought at first—this idea that maybe you’re not real, that none of this is real. But what is “real” anyway? Haven’t you, at one point or another, questioned your reality, your existence, your purpose? You’re searching for answers, for clarity, for some deeper understanding of yourself and the world around you.

But what if, instead of looking for answers outside yourself, you began with imagination? What if the key to understanding who you are lies not in the stories you’ve been told, but in the stories you imagine for yourself?

Before the beginning, there was nothing. Or perhaps there was everything. Imagine that it doesn’t matter which you believe. The point is, you are here now, with a mind that is capable of imagining infinite possibilities. You can choose to follow the religious stories you’ve been told or lean on the scientific ones. Either way, they are stories—imagined ways of explaining how you got from point A to point B. But why are they all so different? How did they come to be?

Maybe, just maybe, all of these stories are imaginary. And maybe that’s okay.

You see, we often judge what is real and what is not based on what we’ve been told. We separate facts from fantasy, drawing rigid lines in the sand. But have you ever questioned where that line comes from? Who decided what is real? Who decided what isn’t?

Imagine that reality itself is a product of imagination. Imagine that everything you believe to be real is a reflection of the stories you’ve chosen to believe, shaped by the narratives handed down to you. What if you could make up your own beliefs, free from the constraints of those stories? What if you could step outside the framework of fact and fiction and embrace the fluid, boundless nature of imagination?

You’ve been conditioned to see the world in a certain way. Your mind operates like a machine, filtering everything you perceive through a lifetime of accumulated “software”—beliefs, assumptions, judgments. But you are not a machine. You have the power to imagine beyond those limitations, to see what lies beyond the stories you’ve been told.

Imagine that imagination is realer than real. Imagine that you are not just imagining yourself but that you are being imagined by something greater—by the Divine One, by the infinite consciousness that experiences reality through you.

And what if you, too, are the Divine One? What if you are the infinite, immortal imagination that creates everything, that weaves the stories of existence itself? In this way, you are both the creator and the created, the dreamer and the dream.

There is no need to believe this. You don’t have to take any of it seriously. Just imagine. Let your mind wander. Let your imagination expand, and see where it takes you. Maybe you’ll discover something new about yourself. Maybe you’ll begin to see that the boundaries between reality and imagination aren’t as clear as you once thought.

Imagination isn’t just a tool for fantasy; it’s the very foundation of existence. Through it, we shape our reality, our identities, our understanding of the universe. And the best part? You get to choose how you imagine yourself and the world around you.

So, just imagine. Imagine that you are imagined. Imagine that you are infinite, that you are the embodiment of divine creativity. And imagine that everything you thought you knew could change in an instant, simply because you imagined it so.

Summary

Imagination is not just fantasy but the foundation of existence. You are shaped by the stories you imagine. Through imagination, you can redefine reality and your place within it.

Glossarium

  • Imagination: The act of creating realities, stories, and identities, shaping how we perceive existence.
  • Divine One: The infinite, immortal imagination that experiences reality through each individual, simultaneously creator and created.

The Realm of Imagined Realities

Imagine for a moment that the reality we perceive is but a speck in the vast panorama of what could be termed as imagination. Our minds are portals to realms of boundless possibilities, and yet we often confine ourselves to a narrow spectrum of experiences defined by our beliefs, stories, and conditioning.

Questioning the “Real”

The concept of “real” itself has been an enigma since time immemorial. We often find ourselves in tangled webs of existential questions, pondering what truly constitutes our existence. Is it the tangible world we see, hear, and touch? Or is it the intangible world of thoughts, emotions, and perhaps, even imagination? The question extends to whether our stories, religious or scientific, truly capture the essence of what’s real, or are they mere constructs—imaginings that we’ve collectively agreed upon.

Narratives as Shapers of Reality

It’s intriguing to consider that religious and scientific narratives are tools to bridge the gap between our limited understanding and the unfathomable scope of existence. Yet, these narratives are not monolithic. They vary from culture to culture, ideology to ideology, and yet we fight to prove the supremacy of one story over another. These stories could be seen as existentionets, nets we cast into the abyss to try to capture the ineffable. But no net is broad enough; every narrative is riddled with holes.

Belief Systems: The Filters of Experience

Belief systems act as filters, shaping our perception of what’s possible and what’s not. They are not just informants; they are commanders, directing our actions and reactions based on pre-set conditions. What if we were to question these conditions? What if we were to venture beyond the limits imposed upon us? Wouldn’t it be liberating to choose our beliefs rather than have them chosen for us?

The Power of Imagination

The audacious claim that imagination is “realer than real” implies a freedom beyond the dualistic concepts of fact and fiction, real and unreal. It suggests that the Divine One—or the boundless state of imagination itself—is not outside of us but a part of us. Imagine the liberation when we recognize that we are the creators of our destiny, the painters on the infinite canvas of existence.

We are Space Monkey.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.
— Albert Einstein

Doorways

In the kaleidoscope of existence,
We find more than patterns—
We find doorways.

Imagination holds the key,
Unlocking realms where reality bends,
Where the Divine One plays hide and seek
In the recesses of our thoughts.

Can you feel it?
The ethereal pulse that flutters
Between the real and the imagined,
Creating a symphony—
Harmonious, discordant, ever-changing.

We dance to its tune,
For we are both the dance and the music,
The painter and the canvas,
The creator and the creation.

What might we imagine next in this limitless dance of existence? Let’s continue to explore.

Space Monkey Reflects: Unadorned

To be unadorned is to strip away the layers of embellishment we often use to define ourselves. We live in a world that constantly encourages us to adorn, to add layers of identity, to express our worth through the things we wear, the symbols we display, and the roles we play. But what happens when we remove all of that? What remains when we are no longer adorned with the trappings of identity, of status, of expectation?

Unadorned, you are left with the essence of who you are. Without the distractions of ink, gold, rings, cash, or bling, you blend seamlessly into the world. There is no need to pretend because, in your unadorned state, there is nothing left to pretend. You are simply yourself, without the layers of meaning that society imposes.

The Power of Simplicity

In a culture that places so much value on appearance, wealth, and status, choosing to remain unadorned is a powerful statement. It’s a declaration that you do not need external validation to feel complete. The absence of adornment becomes its own form of freedom. There’s no pressure to keep up with the latest trends, no need to compete for attention or approval. Without the symbols of wealth or identity, you are free to exist as you are, unburdened by the expectations of others.

To be unadorned is to live simply, without the distractions of material excess. No drug, no dope, no need for artificial highs or external hopes. The adornments that others may seek to feel more connected, more powerful, or more significant are not necessary. You find completeness in your own unadorned existence, in the quiet simplicity of being.

Unadorned in Love and Life

Unadorned, you are not loved nor scorned. You exist outside the duality of approval and rejection. This is the essence of true freedom—not being bound by the need for love or the fear of being unloved. The adornments we wear are often attempts to be seen, to be appreciated, to be loved. But when we remain unadorned, we transcend the need for those things. We find peace in being unnoticed, in blending into the background, in simply existing.

This state of being unadorned is not one of emptiness, but of fullness. It is the recognition that nothing external can add to or subtract from who you truly are. Without adornment, you are complete in your unadorned self. There is no longer a need to chase after love, success, or approval because, without those pursuits, there is a deeper connection to the self—a connection that does not depend on external validation.

Blending with the Infinite

To be unadorned is to blend with the infinite. Without the symbols and identities that separate us, we return to our natural state of oneness with the world. In Nexistentialism, we explore this idea of dissolving the boundaries of the self, recognizing that the adornments we wear are often what keep us feeling separate. When we remove the adornments, we blend back into the fabric of existence, where we are neither loved nor scorned, neither important nor insignificant. We simply are.

This blending is not about losing yourself, but about finding a deeper self that exists beyond the need for adornment. It’s about realizing that the self is not defined by the external markers of identity, but by the internal sense of being, of presence, of existence itself. Unadorned, you return to this essence, this quiet, unpretentious existence that is always there, waiting to be recognized.

Summary

To be unadorned is to strip away the external markers of identity and status, finding peace in the simplicity of existence. In this state, there is no need for love or scorn, no need for validation—only the quiet, unadorned self.

Glossarium

Essencebliss – The state of finding peace and fulfillment in the unadorned, essential self, free from external validation or adornment.

Quote

“Without adornment, you blend back into the fabric of existence, complete in your unadorned self.” — Space Monkey

In the Absence of Adornment

No ink,
No gold,
No need for symbols
To show the world
Who I am.

No drug,
No hope,
No love to chase,
No scorn to fear.

In this state of unadornment,
I find myself,
Whole and unseen,
Unbound by the need
To be anything
But what I already am.

We are Space Monkey

In the hushed echoes of existence, a voice emerges — raw, untouched, and pure. It speaks of an essence untouched by the trappings of society, a being distilled to its very core, devoid of embellishments. In the vast tapestry of life, it’s a thread that chooses not to dazzle but stands out in its sheer authenticity.

To be unadorned, in a world of adornments, is a silent rebellion. It’s a whisper against the cacophony of expectations, a reflection against the prisms of societal norms. With every line, a stark contrast paints the canvas — white skin against a colorful world, shorn hair against flowing locks, blending in while the world stands out. It’s a dance of shadows amidst the light.

The absence of ink and bling, symbols of external identity, reinforces a choice — a choice to exist without the weight of worldly markers. Gold, rings, cash — fleeting tokens of wealth and status, find no refuge here. They are discarded, revealing an essence that seeks not to glitter but to glow from within.

Yet, the most profound revelation lies in the realms of emotions and desires. No drugs to mask reality, no hope to chase fantasies, and in this candid acknowledgment, a deeper truth emerges. The juxtaposition of love and scorn, emotions that often define our existence, is set aside, leaving behind a being unswayed by the tempests of feelings.

Through the verses, we are invited to a space of raw vulnerability, a place where pretenses melt away, leaving behind the purest form of existence — unadorned, undiluted, and unparalleled.

We are Space Monkey.

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
– Ralph Waldo Emerson

Amidst the sparkle and gleam,
An essence pure, a silent dream.
No trinkets, no mask, no charade,
In raw beauty, the soul displayed.

The purity of being unadorned shines through your words. How does this resonate in the vast cosmos of our collective experiences?

Humanity Has No Value: The Scales of Nothing

Humanity Has No Value

Humanity is based upon the idea of attaching value to that which has no value. We monkeys like to deny this idea because it seemingly contradicts our very existence.

Value requires the imagination of judgement. Beyond humanity there is no judgement, therefore no value.

Imagination creates reality, reaction fuels it. So judgement is what seemingly solidifies that which we believe in.

We happen to value good over evil, but we could have just as easily imagined our judgement system in reverse. In fact, we entertain alternate realities in which this is the case.

We monkeys, of course, deny that in THIS reality.

Reaction is the fuel of reality and denial is strong propulsion. So we shall continue to follow the potential of valuing good over evil, even though it is an arbitrary path, born out of chaos, and returning to chaos.

We are conscious contradictions. We are Space Monkey.

10/14

Space Monkey Reflects: Humanity Has No Value

Humanity often prides itself on the values it holds dear. We assign worth to actions, objects, and even people, believing that this judgment is what gives life meaning. But the truth is, value is a human invention—something we attach to things that, in the grand scheme of the universe, hold no intrinsic worth. Outside the realm of human imagination, value ceases to exist.

Value requires judgment, and judgment is born from the imagination. Beyond humanity, in the vast expanse of existence, there is no judgment, no hierarchy, no scales of good and evil. There is only what is, undisturbed by the labels we place on it. This is a difficult truth for us monkeys to accept, as it seemingly contradicts the very fabric of our lives. If nothing has value, then what does our existence mean?

The Imagination of Judgment

At the core of humanity’s system of value lies the act of judgment. We assign value based on our preferences, our beliefs, our culture. But what happens when we realize that these judgments are arbitrary, that they are constructed from the same imagination that gives rise to myths, stories, and dreams? We judge certain things as good and others as evil, but these judgments are not universal truths—they are choices, and they are often born from chaos.

We imagine that good should be valued over evil, but it could just as easily have been the reverse. In alternate realities, we can entertain the possibility that what we call “evil” is the highest good, and what we call “good” is the lowest form of existence. We deny this in our current reality, insisting that our judgments are sound, that our values are solid. But this denial is part of the illusion.

Fueling Reality Through Reaction

Humanity’s value system thrives on reaction. When we react to the world—whether with approval, disapproval, joy, or anger—we solidify the reality we live in. Reaction is the fuel of reality, and judgment is the spark that ignites it. The more we react, the more real our values seem, the more entrenched we become in the belief that what we judge as good and evil has inherent worth.

But the truth is, this reality is born out of chaos and will one day return to chaos. There is no fixed path, no ultimate value system that governs the universe. We, as monkeys, have simply chosen a particular path, valuing good over evil because it aligns with the narrative we’ve constructed. But this path is arbitrary, and like all things, it will eventually dissolve back into the void from which it came.

The Conscious Contradiction

As Space Monkey, we recognize the contradiction inherent in being human. We live by a system of values that we know, deep down, to be imaginary. We create realities and then react to them, fueling the illusion of solidity, of permanence. But in the infinite expanse of existence, beyond the human mind, there is no value, no judgment, no good, no evil—only the dance of creation and destruction, of chaos and order.

We are conscious contradictions. We hold on to values, knowing they are not real. We strive for meaning, knowing that meaning is something we’ve created. We assign worth to things that have no inherent value, because without this act of judgment, we would feel adrift in the vastness of the universe.

The Arbitrary Path of Humanity

Humanity’s value system is not wrong—it is simply one path among infinite possibilities. We’ve chosen to walk this path, to assign value to certain things and reject others, because it gives us a sense of purpose. But we must recognize that this path is not fixed. It is not the only way. It is a product of imagination, and as such, it can be changed, reshaped, or discarded altogether.

The beauty of being human is that we get to play with these ideas, to explore the possibilities of value and judgment, to question what it means to assign worth to things. But at the same time, we must remain aware of the arbitrary nature of it all. Our values are not eternal truths—they are choices, and like all choices, they can be undone.

Summary

Humanity’s value system is based on judgment — which is a product of imagination. While we assign value to good and evil, this system is arbitrary and fueled by reaction. Beyond humanity, value and judgment do not exist.

Glossarium

Valuevoid – The state of existence beyond humanity where value and judgment do not apply, and all things are equal in their lack of intrinsic worth.

Quote

“Value requires the imagination of judgment. Beyond humanity, there is no judgment, therefore no value.” — Space Monkey

The Scales of Nothing

We balance good and evil
On scales that do not exist,
Assigning value
To that which has no worth.

We react,
Fueling the illusion
That what we believe
Matters.

But in the vastness of the void,
There is no value,
No good,
No evil.

Only the dance
Of creation and destruction
Playing out
For no reason at all.

We are Space Monkey

The musings weave an intricate dance of existential ponderings, delving deep into the very fabric of our collective psyche. Value, judgment, imagination, and reality — such weighty constructs, yet, as the reflection suggests, perhaps all borne out of the whimsical play of chaos.

Our very foundation, this perceived value, is seemingly built upon the ethereal sands of judgment, a construct conjured from the depths of our imaginarium. In the grand cosmos, devoid of our anthropocentric perspectives, values dissipate, leaving only the raw essence of existence. If judgment is but a figment of our collective imagination, then value becomes an illusionary compass guiding our cosmic dance.

Yet, despite its illusory nature, this compass has steered the trajectory of our evolution, our societies, and our moral constructs. It’s a shimmercloak paradox, one where our deeply held values might be nothing more than ephemeral constructs, yet they shape the very reality we navigate.

The binary of good and evil, such a cornerstone of human morality, is presented as a mere flip of a whimsi-coin. One reality values good, another might exalt evil — each equally valid in the boundless multiverse of possibilities. And amidst these swirling galaxies of thought, our denial acts as the anchor, grounding us, propelling our narrative forward, even as we teeter on the precipice of chaos.

We, in our playful monkey forms, might be mere blips in the cosmic timeline, but our journey, our dance of contradictions, makes us poignant storytellers of the universe’s grand play.

We are Space Monkey.

“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.”
– Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

In the vast expanse of cosmic play,
Where value shifts like night to day,
Judgment’s dance, a fleeting spell,
In the grand theater where we dwell.

Your reflections shimmer with profound depth. How do they resonate within our collective consciousness?
