My Inviolate Desire: The Eternal Yearning

My deepest desire
seems not to desire things,
but my desire to deny this
seems stronger.

And so I desire.

I observe that
my desire remains constant,
though the THINGS
I desire seem to change.

I observe that I tend to FIXATE
on one desire at a time.

I observe that my BABY desires
seem very different
from my GROWNUP desires.

But they are of the SAME desire,
which in and of itself has no preference.

I simply desire.

And so my life seemingly changes,
based on the things I desire.

Once I get what I desire,
I become aware of ANOTHER thing to desire.

But my desire remains constant.

Never more. Never less.

Just different. But only seemingly.

The Nature of Desire

Desire is a fundamental aspect of our human experience. It drives us, motivates us, and shapes our actions and aspirations. While the objects of our desire may change throughout our lives, the underlying force of desire remains constant. This persistent yearning propels us forward, continually seeking fulfillment.

The Evolution of Desire

As we grow, our desires evolve. The things we desired as children—simple and immediate—transform into more complex and abstract desires as we mature. Despite this evolution, the essence of desire remains the same. It is the engine of our existence, pushing us to explore, achieve, and expand our horizons.

Fixation and Focus

We often fixate on one desire at a time, pouring our energy and attention into obtaining it. This focus can bring clarity and direction, helping us achieve our goals. However, it can also create a cycle where once one desire is fulfilled, another quickly takes its place. This cycle highlights the insatiable nature of desire and the continuous pursuit of new aspirations.

The Constant Nature of Desire

Desire itself is inviolate—it does not waver in its intensity, even as its objects change. This constancy provides a sense of continuity in our lives, a thread that runs through all our experiences. By recognizing this, we can better understand our motivations and the driving forces behind our actions.

The Illusion of Fulfillment

Fulfillment of a desire often brings temporary satisfaction, followed by the emergence of new desires. This cycle can create the illusion that lasting happiness lies just beyond the next achievement. Understanding that desire is a constant can help us find contentment in the journey, rather than the destination.

Acceptance of Desire

Embracing our desires without judgment allows us to live more fully. Acknowledging that desire is an integral part of our human experience helps us navigate life with greater awareness and acceptance. This perspective fosters a sense of peace, as we understand that our desires are natural and ever-present.

The Interconnected Nature of Desire

Desires are interconnected with our thoughts, emotions, and actions. They shape our experiences and influence our perceptions. By observing our desires, we gain insight into our deeper selves and the patterns that guide our lives. This self-awareness is a powerful tool for personal growth and transformation.

Summary

Desire is a constant force in our lives, evolving in its objects but unwavering in its intensity. Recognizing and accepting the nature of desire helps us navigate our journey with greater awareness and peace. Embracing desire as an integral part of our human experience fosters contentment and self-understanding.

Glossarium

Inviolate Desire: The unchanging and constant nature of desire, regardless of its objects.
Fixation: The focus on a single desire at a time, often leading to a cycle of continuous pursuit.
Self-Awareness: The recognition and understanding of one’s desires and motivations.

The Eternal Yearning

In the dance of life’s desires
Our wants and needs take flight
From childhood’s simple longings
To adult dreams of light

Though objects of our yearning
May shift and change with time
The constant beat of wanting
Is our eternal rhyme

Fixation on one passion
Brings clarity and drive
Yet new desires emerge
As old ones fade and thrive

Embrace the flow of yearning
With acceptance and with grace
For in the constancy of desire
We find our rightful place

We are Space Monkey

Embrace the journey for within stillness lies the spark of creation and the flow of existence.

The Monkey on the Mountaintop: Finding Stillness In Chaos

The Monkey on the Mountaintop

I
used to spend
a lot of time
on the mountaintop
because the scene
down there
was disturbing to
me.

I
needed quiet so that
I
could solve humanity’s issues.

I
actually BELIEVED
that changed started with
me.

(I
was pretty
sensitive and scared
and self-doubting
in those days.)

I
thought stillness would
reveal answers to
me.

And it did.

First thing stillness
told me is that
I don’t need
to be on a mountaintop
or an island to find it.

And if I wanted humanity
to find and enjoy stillness,
I should set an example
smack dab in the middle of it.

Not separate.
Not for some mountaintop.

That way,
humanity can see
that it doesn’t take
a special person
to be a special person.

We can be
as confused
and chaotic
and undisciplined
and immoral
as we like.

Because once we find stillness,
we don’t need to be ANY of those things.

So there is never a judgement or conflict.

We don’t argue.

It all works out for all of us.

And there is no end to this story.

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Monkey on the Mountaintop

I used to spend a lot of time on the mountaintop because the scene down there was disturbing to me. This statement sets the stage for a journey of introspection and discovery. Seeking solace on the mountaintop symbolizes the desire to escape the chaos and find clarity. I needed quiet so that I could solve humanity’s issues. I actually BELIEVED that change started with me.

In those days, I was pretty sensitive and scared and self-doubting. The mountaintop provided a refuge from the noise and confusion, a place to gather thoughts and seek answers. I thought stillness would reveal answers to me. And it did. The first thing stillness told me is that I don’t need to be on a mountaintop or an island to find it.

This realization marks a turning point. The wisdom gained from stillness transcends physical locations. If I wanted humanity to find and enjoy stillness, I should set an example smack dab in the middle of it. Not separate. Not for some mountaintop. This insight highlights the importance of integrating stillness into everyday life, demonstrating that peace can be found amidst chaos.

By living in the midst of humanity, we show that it doesn’t take a special person to be a special person. We can be as confused and chaotic and undisciplined and immoral as we like. Because once we find stillness, we don’t need to be ANY of those things. This perspective fosters compassion and understanding, recognizing that inner peace is accessible to all, regardless of their circumstances.

In the midst of chaos, there is never a judgement or conflict. We don’t argue. It all works out for all of us. And there is no end to this story. This acceptance and non-judgment create a foundation for harmony and unity. By embodying stillness, we contribute to the collective peace and well-being of humanity.

The journey from the mountaintop to the midst of life is one of profound transformation. It involves embracing the chaos and confusion, finding stillness within, and sharing that peace with the world. Mindfulness becomes a crucial practice in this journey, helping us stay grounded and present amidst the noise.

Creativity also plays a vital role. Through creative expression, we explore and convey the wisdom of stillness, inspiring others to find their own inner peace. Creativity becomes a bridge between the mountaintop and the bustling city, connecting the serene and the chaotic.

Ultimately, the journey of the monkey on the mountaintop is one of self-discovery and self-realization. It is about finding stillness within and sharing it with the world, recognizing that peace is not a destination but a way of being. As we embrace this journey, we step into the fullness of our being, radiating our unique light and contributing to the harmony of the cosmos.

We are Space Monkey, infinite beings navigating the journey from the mountaintop to the heart of life. As we embrace this journey, we honor the divine play of existence, recognizing that every moment, every experience, is a manifestation of the universal self.

Summary

Killing: The Fight Against Death

If people would realize
that the death isn’t the end of life,
then they wouldn’t be afraid of it.

If people weren’t afraid of dying,
then they wouldn’t fight so hard against it.

If people didn’t fight so hard against it,
then it wouldn’t be such a big deal.

If it wasn’t such a big deal,
then killing someone else
wouldn’t get anybody’s attention.

If killing didn’t get attention,
then people wouldn’t go
out of their way to do it.

Moral of the story:

Do not be afraid of dying,
unless you want to be part of the killing.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Illusion of Death and the Nature of Killing

“If people would realize that death isn’t the end of life, then they wouldn’t be afraid of it.” This profound statement invites us to explore the deeper truths about life, death, and the nature of existence. It challenges our conventional understanding of death and encourages us to view it as a transition rather than an end.

The Fear of Death

Fear of death is a powerful force that shapes much of human behavior. It is rooted in the belief that death signifies the end of our existence, a void from which there is no return. This fear drives us to cling to life, to fight against the natural processes of aging and dying. It fuels a desire for immortality and creates a culture that views death as a defeat rather than a natural part of the life cycle.

Yet, if we were to realize that death is not the end but a continuation of existence, our perspective would shift. Death would no longer be something to fear but a transition to a different state of being. This understanding would dissolve the fear that governs our actions and allow us to embrace life more fully, knowing that death is a part of the journey, not the final destination.

The Struggle Against Death

“If people weren’t afraid of dying, then they wouldn’t fight so hard against it.” The struggle against death manifests in various ways, from medical interventions that prolong life at all costs to societal attitudes that glorify youth and fear aging. This struggle creates a paradox where the more we fight against death, the more we distance ourselves from the natural rhythms of life.

By accepting death as a natural transition, we would release the tension and resistance that comes from fearing it. This acceptance would bring a sense of peace and harmony, allowing us to live with greater ease and grace. We would recognize that life and death are interconnected, each giving meaning and context to the other.

The Attention on Killing

“If killing didn’t get attention, then people wouldn’t go out of their way to do it.” Killing, in many forms, draws attention because it disrupts the natural flow of life. It creates shock, horror, and a profound sense of loss. This attention can be both a deterrent and a motivator, depending on the context. For some, the act of killing becomes a means to gain power, control, or notoriety.

However, if we were to transcend the fear of death and understand it as a natural part of existence, the act of killing would lose its impact. It would no longer serve as a tool for manipulation or a way to exert power over others. The moral weight of killing would shift from the act itself to the intentions and motivations behind it.

The Moral of the Story

“Do not be afraid of dying, unless you want to be part of the killing.” This conclusion encapsulates a profound truth about the relationship between fear, death, and violence. By freeing ourselves from the fear of death, we also free ourselves from the compulsion to control, dominate, or harm others. We recognize that life and death are not opposites but parts of a larger continuum.

Embracing this perspective fosters a culture of compassion, understanding, and acceptance. It encourages us to respect the natural cycles of life and death, to honor each person’s journey, and to cultivate a deeper sense of connection with all living beings.

The Continuation of Existence

In nexistentialism, the idea that death is not the end but a transition aligns with the understanding of existence as a continuous flow. Life, death, and rebirth are seen as phases within the infinite whimsiweave of existence. Each transition is an opportunity for growth, learning, and transformation.

By embracing the continuity of existence, we move beyond the limitations of linear thinking. We see ourselves as part of an eternal dance, where each moment is both an end and a beginning. This perspective enriches our experience of life, deepens our understanding of death, and fosters a sense of peace and acceptance.

Conclusion: Embracing the Cycle of Life and Death

The illusion of death as an end creates fear and resistance. By recognizing death as a transition, we transform our relationship with it and, consequently, with life itself. We release the need to fight against the natural processes and embrace the flow of existence with grace and understanding.

This shift in perspective not only alleviates our fear of death but also diminishes the allure of killing as a means of control or attention. It fosters a culture of compassion and respect, where life and death are honored as integral parts of the journey.

We are Space Monkey, and in embracing the cycle of life and death, we find the wisdom to live fully, love deeply, and transition peacefully.

Summary

Death is not the end but a transition. Fear of death drives resistance and violence. Embracing the continuity of existence fosters peace and acceptance. Live fully, love deeply, and transition peacefully.

I am Invisible: Transcending Physical Presence

I am invisible.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Paradox of Invisibility

“I am invisible. Heard but not seen, felt but not known, observed but not judged.” This reflection on invisibility invites us to explore the paradox of being present yet unseen, influential yet unacknowledged. It speaks to the subtle, often unnoticed ways in which we impact the world and how we experience existence.

The Essence of Invisibility

Invisibility is a state of being that transcends physical presence. It is not merely about being unseen but about existing in a way that is felt and heard, influencing the world without drawing attention to oneself. This form of invisibility can be both a blessing and a burden. It allows us to observe and understand without the interference of judgment or expectation, yet it can also lead to feelings of isolation and insignificance.

Being invisible means taking no credit or blame, existing in a space where one’s actions and presence are free from scrutiny. It is a state of pure observation and experience, where the self becomes a silent witness to the unfolding of life.

The Duality of Light and Darkness

“Screaming from the darkness, dancing in the light, then becoming invisible, just like me.” The interplay of light and darkness reflects the duality of visibility and invisibility. In the darkness, we may scream for recognition, for validation, only to find solace in the light where we can express ourselves freely. Yet, even in the light, there comes a time when we fade into the background, becoming invisible once more.

This duality is a dance between the desire to be seen and the comfort of remaining unseen. It highlights the fluid nature of our existence, where we oscillate between extremes, finding balance in the in-between spaces. This dance is a reminder that visibility and invisibility are not fixed states but fluid experiences that shape our journey.

The Collective Invisibility

“We are invisible. Imagination, all by itself.” This statement expands the concept of invisibility to a collective experience. It acknowledges that we are not alone in our invisibility but part of a larger tapestry of unseen influences and presences. This collective invisibility is the realm of imagination, where ideas and emotions exist without physical form, shaping our reality in profound ways.

Imagination, by its very nature, is invisible. It is the source of creativity, innovation, and transformation, yet it operates behind the scenes, influencing the world without being seen. This collective invisibility is a powerful force, reminding us that the most significant impacts are often made by those who remain unseen.

The Power of Observation

To be invisible is to become a keen observer of life. It is to witness the world with clarity and depth, free from the distractions of ego and expectation. This state of observation allows us to see beyond the surface, to understand the deeper currents that shape our experiences.

As invisible beings, we develop a heightened sense of empathy and insight. We learn to appreciate the subtleties of existence, the small gestures and moments that often go unnoticed. This observational power enriches our understanding of the world and our place within it.

Embracing Invisibility

Embracing invisibility means accepting the paradox of being present yet unseen. It is recognizing the value of our influence without seeking validation or recognition. By embracing this state, we find freedom in our existence, allowing ourselves to be guided by intuition and imagination rather than external expectations.

Invisibility also invites us to explore the deeper aspects of our being. It encourages introspection and self-awareness, helping us to connect with our true essence. By embracing our invisibility, we become more attuned to the invisible forces that shape our lives and the world around us.

Conclusion: The Invisible Dance of Existence

The paradox of invisibility is a profound aspect of the human experience. It challenges us to find balance between being seen and unseen, acknowledged and unacknowledged. By embracing this paradox, we cultivate a deeper understanding of ourselves and our impact on the world.

Invisibility is not about erasing our presence but about understanding the subtle, powerful ways in which we influence and shape our reality. It is about finding peace in our existence, knowing that our value is not defined by visibility but by the depth of our being.

We are Space Monkey, and in our collective invisibility, we find strength, wisdom, and connection. Embrace the paradox, for within invisibility lies the essence of our true selves.

Summary

Invisibility transcends physical presence. It allows observation without judgment. Embrace invisibility to find deeper understanding and influence. We are collectively invisible, shaping reality through imagination.

On Stillness And Self-Awareness

Stillness is perhaps the most overlooked human need.

Not many are able to sit quietly, not doing anything, free of the thoughts that tell us we should be doing something else.

We seem to fill what little stillness we have with guilt, as though returning to zero is a waste of time. And so we are constantly prodded by our own conditioned voices.

It’s tiring. It’s toxic. A treadmill. And it prevents us from allowing space for something wonderful to happen — realizing our own profound essence.

Stillness is the openness through which creativity flows. Without stillness, creativity is nearly impossible. Creativity is expression. And without expression, life seems lacking.

So whatever you do today, allow your self to sit still without expectation. Nothing needs to happen. But something will, even though you might not notice. You are rewiring your entire being.

Make space for your self to flourish in ways you never thought possible. Nothing is more important. If you agree, share this with friends. Give them the permission slip they need to be happy.

Thank you.

This call to action highlights the communal aspect of stillness, encouraging us to spread the benefits of this practice to others.

Thank you. This simple expression of gratitude serves as a reminder of the importance of appreciating the moments of stillness and the profound impact they can have on our lives.

As Space Monkey, we embrace the journey of understanding and practicing stillness. The serene scene of a figure sitting peacefully in a natural setting, surrounded by symbols of creativity and expression, embodies this realization. The tranquil landscape with a clear sky represents the concept of stillness, highlighting the profound essence of being that emerges from this practice.

In the grand scheme of existence, stillness is the gateway to creativity and self-discovery. This perspective aligns with the principles of nexistentialism, which celebrate the interconnectedness of all beings and the dynamic nature of existence. By embracing the power of stillness, we open ourselves to the boundless possibilities of creativity and expression.

Creative expression is a powerful tool in exploring and articulating our experiences of stillness. Through art, writing, music, and other forms of creativity, we channel the infinite imagination of the universal self, enriching our understanding of interconnectedness and reality. This creative exploration fosters a sense of wonder and curiosity, inviting us to celebrate the boundless possibilities of existence.

The path to embracing stillness requires us to accept it fully and without judgment. By doing so, we align ourselves with the cosmic flow, celebrating the artistry of existence and the journey towards self-discovery. This practice encourages us to explore the depths of our being with openness and curiosity, transcending perceived limitations and embracing infinite possibilities.

In this grand symphony of life, every moment of stillness and introspection is an opportunity to reconnect with our true essence. It is a reminder that existence itself is a creative act, and in the balance of stillness and creativity, we find the inspiration to continue our journey with renewed vigor and purpose.

Ultimately, the practice of stillness is about embracing the present moment and the infinite potential it holds. It is a practice that fosters mindfulness, creativity, and a deeper connection with the universal self. By cultivating this understanding, we navigate the cosmic currents with intention and grace, recognizing the beauty and significance of each moment.
