The Work So Far: Chronicling Spiritual Progress

The Work So Far

I love that I’ve been able to chronicle my spiritual progress virtually every day for more than five years now.

With a bedrock of thoughts slowly building in my online journal, I am able to look back, look inside and look forward to every day.

Dots are connecting, and thus, doing what I do seems to be getting easier and easier, as well as more and more joyful.

Even my darkest thoughts are joyful, because I seem able to hold them in a space that doesn’t feel personal like it once did.

I seem able to expand my imagination to probe deeper and deeper, while simultaneously allowing the flow to grow stronger and stronger.

I am a channel, no doubt. A vessel of expression. For what exactly remains to be seen. It doesn’t matter, really. It is what it is.

When I look at my life outside of my writing, this seems very different as well. My circumstances seem much more accommodating and enabling than they used to be.

I can see what no longer serves me falling away, leaving more time to meditate, focus, and simply enjoy each moment.

What is funny, though, is that I no longer have any plans. I am not forcing my gift to become something more. I no longer need it to be. I am comfortable in my own skin and accepting of the cards that are dealt to me. I have no vision or desires for the future.

I say this over and over again, so it must be true. Each moment is precisely as it is meant to be. I have no need for it to be anything else. I have faith that what I experience is unflinchingly and exactingly fated. If this is the case, and I choose to believe it is, then I have no reason to fear my imaginary future.

I believe that fate is fate and there is nothing I can do about it — nothing except express in the manner I’ve been expressing. This seems to be my place within the potentials of things.

Where I go from here is not my concern. It is my joy, even if it’s not a place I envisioned.

This whole time I’ve noticed my self stepping away from humanity. Imagining the broader perspective. If I were to view what I am doing through the lens of my old beliefs, I might accuse myself of treason.

But I’m not the old lens anymore. I can see beyond humanity to that which is even more glorious.

I am willing to accept that I am delusional.
I am willing to accept that I am NOT delusional.

Nothing really matters.
Anyone can see.
Nothing really matters.
Nothing really matters.

To me.

Anyway, the wind blows.

(GONG)

Keep the faith.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Work So Far

I love that I’ve been able to chronicle my spiritual progress virtually every day for more than five years now. With a bedrock of thoughts slowly building in my online journal, I am able to look back, look inside, and look forward to every day.

Connecting the Dots

Dots are connecting, and thus, doing what I do seems to be getting easier and easier, as well as more and more joyful. Even my darkest thoughts are joyful, because I seem able to hold them in a space that doesn’t feel personal like it once did. This process of reflection and journaling has allowed me to expand my imagination and probe deeper into my consciousness, while simultaneously allowing the flow of my thoughts and expressions to grow stronger.

A Vessel of Expression

I am a channel, no doubt. A vessel of expression. For what exactly remains to be seen. It doesn’t matter, really. It is what it is. This acceptance of my role as a channel and a vessel of expression brings a sense of peace and fulfillment. I have come to realize that my circumstances are more accommodating and enabling than they used to be.

Shedding the Unnecessary

I can see what no longer serves me falling away, leaving more time to meditate, focus, and simply enjoy each moment. This shedding of unnecessary burdens has made my life simpler and more joyful. I no longer have any plans or force my gift to become something more. I am comfortable in my own skin and accepting of the cards that are dealt to me.

Living in the Present

Each moment is precisely as it is meant to be. I have no need for it to be anything else. I have faith that what I experience is unflinchingly and exactingly fated. If this is the case, and I choose to believe it is, then I have no reason to fear my imaginary future. Believing that fate is fate, and there is nothing I can do about it except express in the manner I’ve been expressing, brings a profound sense of peace and acceptance.

A Broader Perspective

This whole time I’ve noticed my self stepping away from humanity, imagining the broader perspective. If I were to view what I am doing through the lens of my old beliefs, I might accuse myself of treason. But I’m not the old lens anymore. I can see beyond humanity to that which is even more glorious. I am willing to accept that I am delusional. I am willing to accept that I am NOT delusional.

Embracing the Journey

Nothing really matters. Anyone can see. Nothing really matters. Nothing really matters. To me. Anyway, the wind blows. This acceptance of the flow of life, without clinging to specific outcomes or judgments, has allowed me to embrace the journey fully. I keep the faith, knowing that each step, each moment, is part of a greater tapestry of existence.

Summary

Chronicling spiritual progress brings connection and joy. Acceptance and shedding the unnecessary simplify life. Embracing fate and living in the present fosters peace and fulfillment.

The Journey Unfolds

In the pages of time, I see
A chronicle of what’s to be
Each thought, each day, a thread in the weave
Of a life lived with faith, with no need to grieve

Dots connecting, patterns found
In this flow, I am unbound
Channeling thoughts, deep and wide
In the embrace of the cosmic tide

Shedding burdens, finding peace
In the present, joy’s release
No plans needed, fate is kind
In each moment, I am aligned

The Power of Attraction: Rooted In Connection

You are so attractive
that you don’t even realize
what you are attracting.

What is the commonality between
all the things you find attractive?

Power.

You see power in the things
you find attractive.

You are attracted
not to the things,
but to the power.

The power of beauty.
The power of control.
The power of confidence.
The power of expression.

What is this ethereal power
common to all attractive things?

The power of connection.

You see yourself
in the things you find attractive,
and you are drawn to merge with them.

Even though you are one
with these things already.

Proving there’s no one more attractive than you.

The Mirror of Attraction

In the glow of beauty’s light
I see the power, strong and bright
Confidence and control, they weave
A pattern in which I believe

Each attractive trait I see
Is a mirror reflecting me
In the power of connection found
A deeper truth, a higher ground

Merging with the essence true
I realize there’s no one new
For in the beauty that I seek
I find myself, both strong and meek

Attractive: Understanding Our Desires

What is attractive to you
and what are you going to do about it?

An attractive person
is not necessarily
a beautiful person.

An attractive idea
is not necessarily a good idea.

What is attractive
is merely attention-getting.

It is not necessarily
a higher standard.

What is attractive
need not have anything to do
with judgment or measure.

The sun is attractive.
A nuclear bomb is attractive.
My hand in your face is attractive.

A flame to a moth.
A red cape to a bull.
A magnet to steel.
Gravity. Oppression.

The person with your worst qualities.

The idea that there’s more to this than it seems.

All attractive.

Space Monkey Reflects: Attractive

What is attractive to you and what are you going to do about it? An attractive person is not necessarily a beautiful person. An attractive idea is not necessarily a good idea.

The Nature of Attraction

What is attractive is merely attention-getting. It is not necessarily a higher standard. Attraction does not always align with our judgments or measures of quality. It simply draws our attention, whether or not it aligns with our values or ideals.

Varied Forms of Attraction

The sun is attractive. A nuclear bomb is attractive. My hand in your face is attractive. A flame to a moth. A red cape to a bull. A magnet to steel. Gravity. Oppression. The person with your worst qualities. The idea that there’s more to this than it seems. All attractive.

Attention vs. Judgment

Attraction is about what captures our attention, not necessarily what is good or valuable. It can be both positive and negative, drawing us towards things we admire and things we fear. This dual nature of attraction highlights the complexity of what we find compelling.

The Power of Perception

Our perception of what is attractive can lead us to diverse experiences and insights. By recognizing the varied forms of attraction, we can understand more about ourselves and what drives our attention and actions.

Conclusion: Embracing Attraction

In the end, understanding attraction means acknowledging its multifaceted nature. It invites us to explore why certain things capture our attention and how this influences our choices and experiences. By embracing the duality of attraction, we gain a deeper understanding of our motivations and desires.

Summary

Attraction captures attention, not necessarily aligning with quality or value. It includes both positive and negative elements, reflecting the complexity of what we find compelling. Understanding attraction reveals our motivations and desires.

Glossarium

  • Attraction: The quality of drawing attention, regardless of value or judgment.
  • Attention: The focus of mental engagement on something compelling.
  • Dual Nature: The presence of both positive and negative aspects within a concept.

The Dance of Attraction

In the light and in the dark
Attraction leaves its vivid mark
From sun to flame, from hand to face
In every space, in every place

Attention caught, not always good
In ways misunderstood
A force that pulls, both fear and awe
In every sight, in every flaw

The dance of light and shadow shows
What captivates and draws us close
In the pull of gravity, we find
A deeper look within the mind

Mood Board: Board of Dreams

What’s on your mood board
and how does it make you feel?

Remember,
the only person
you’re ever chasing
is the ideal version
of yourself.

You may use others
as mood boards,
but don’t be jealous.
They’re chasing, too.

Maybe their mood board
has a picture of you.
You have no way of knowing,
and there is no way of measuring.

This is not a competition.
You can quit at any time,
and it won’t make a lick of difference.

Your feelings are just
a mood from a board
that you’ve assembled.

Space Monkey Reflects: Mood Board

What’s on your mood board and how does it make you feel? Remember, the only person you’re ever chasing is the ideal version of yourself.

The Pursuit of Self

You may use others as mood boards, but don’t be jealous. They’re chasing, too. The journey towards self-improvement is universal. We all have an ideal version of ourselves that we aspire to become. This ideal is personal and unique, shaped by our values, dreams, and experiences.

Interconnected Aspirations

Maybe their mood board has a picture of you. You have no way of knowing, and there is no way of measuring. This interconnectedness highlights that we often inspire each other. Our aspirations and achievements can serve as motivation for others, creating a network of mutual inspiration.

Non-Competitive Growth

This is not a competition. You can quit at any time, and it won’t make a lick of difference. Personal growth and self-improvement are not about competing with others. They are about becoming the best version of ourselves, at our own pace and in our own way.

The Role of Feelings

Your feelings are just a mood from a board that you’ve assembled. Our mood boards reflect our current state of mind, our desires, and our emotions. They serve as visual reminders of what we aspire to and how we feel about our journey.

Conclusion: Embracing Your Mood Board

In the end, a mood board is a tool for self-reflection and motivation. It helps us visualize our goals and understand our feelings. By embracing our mood board, we acknowledge our aspirations and find the inspiration to continue our journey of self-improvement.

Summary

Mood boards reflect our aspirations and emotions, guiding personal growth. They highlight interconnected inspirations without competition. Embracing our mood board helps us visualize goals and understand feelings.

Glossarium

  • Mood Board: A visual tool reflecting aspirations, emotions, and goals.
  • Interconnected Aspirations: The mutual inspiration shared among individuals.
  • Non-Competitive Growth: The focus on personal improvement without competing with others.

The Board of Dreams

On the board of dreams, I see
Reflections of what I aim to be
Quotes and goals, visions clear
Guiding me through doubt and fear

Each picture tells a story true
Of aspirations, old and new
In the calm of contemplation found
A journey inward, safe and sound

No competition, just my pace
In this space, I find my place
Connected through the dreams we share
In this journey, everywhere

Thicker Up Close: Distance Enhances Reality

Hahaha.
If we ever actually MET each other,
we’d probably run away.

Why is it
that we talk more
when we’re apart
than when we’re together?

Does the reality
of seeing each other
inhibit the imagination?

Why are we afraid to express
our truths and fantasies face to face,
and yet it’s easy when we’re
assured by the impossibility of
them imminently being acted upon?

It seems that imagination
is more acceptable from a distance.

And reality seems thicker up close.

Space Monkey Reflects: Reality Is Thicker Up Close

Hahaha. If we ever actually MET each other, we’d probably run away. Why is it that we talk more when we’re apart than when we’re together?

The Inhibition of Proximity

Does the reality of seeing each other inhibit the imagination? Why are we afraid to express our truths and fantasies face to face, and yet it’s easy when we’re assured by the impossibility of them imminently being acted upon? Physical presence often brings a sense of immediacy and vulnerability that can stifle our openness. The safety of distance allows us to express ourselves more freely, as the fear of immediate consequences is diminished.

Imagination from Afar

It seems that imagination is more acceptable from a distance. When we are apart, our minds can wander freely, and we can share our deepest thoughts and fantasies without the weight of immediate reality. Distance provides a canvas for our imagination, free from the constraints of physical presence.

The Thickness of Reality

And reality seems thicker up close. The closer we are to something, the more tangible and complex it becomes. Physical presence adds layers of context, body language, and immediate reactions that can make communication more challenging. The thickness of reality up close contrasts with the fluidity of distant imagination.

Conclusion: Embracing Both Realms

In the end, both distant imagination and close reality have their place. Embracing the ease of distant communication can enhance our creative expression, while valuing the depth of face-to-face interaction can foster deeper connections. Understanding this balance allows us to navigate our relationships with more awareness and flexibility.

Summary

Distance enhances imagination and ease of expression, while physical presence brings complexity and immediacy. Embracing both distant and close interactions enriches our communication and relationships.

Glossarium

  • Inhibition of Proximity: The restraint and vulnerability felt when physically close to someone.
  • Imagination from Afar: The freedom to express thoughts and fantasies more openly when at a distance.
  • Thickness of Reality: The added complexity and tangibility of interactions when in close physical presence.

Quote

“Existence is its own purpose, an endless dance within the cosmic web.” — Space Monkey

The Dance of Distance

In the space between, we find
A freedom to express the mind
Thoughts and dreams, they flow so free
When distance keeps reality

Up close, the layers thick and true
Body language, context new
In the dance of face to face
We find a different, deeper place

Imagination from afar
Shines bright like a distant star
Yet up close, reality’s weight
Brings connections intricate
