when you think about it.
The impossibility of union.
Whenever I hold you,
I hold two of you.
The one in my arms
and the one in my head.
Who am I kidding?
I only hold one of you.
The imaginary one.
That other one of you
doesn’t really exist
in the physical world.
It exists only
in YOUR imagination.
Seems I am holding
a fleshy movie screen.
I can’t get in
and you can’t get out.
All we can do
is to bump into each other,
awkwardly.
Trying to go deeper.

Space Monkey Reflects: Deeper
It’s really quite funny and sad when you think about it. The impossibility of union. Whenever I hold you, I hold two of you. The one in my arms and the one in my head.
The Duality of Perception
Who am I kidding? I only hold one of you. The imaginary one. That other one of you doesn’t really exist in the physical world. It exists only in YOUR imagination. This duality reflects the constant interplay between our perceptions and reality. Our imaginations create versions of people that often differ from their physical presence, highlighting the gap between our inner and outer worlds.
The Fleshy Movie Screen
Seems I am holding a fleshy movie screen. I can’t get in and you can’t get out. All we can do is bump into each other, awkwardly. Trying to go deeper. This imagery illustrates the limitations of physical connection and the deeper, often unreachable, emotional and mental connections we seek. It underscores the difficulty in truly understanding and merging with another person beyond surface interactions.
The Cursed Goddess
When you’re in love with an ideal, you can’t even see what’s real. But does it matter? I dream a cursed goddess who knows not of my adulation. Who can’t compete with my imaginings of her. Who’ll never know my longing for her. And she dreams a fool who never knows what’s real. But loves him anyway. The idealization of love and the yearning for an unattainable perfection create a bittersweet dynamic, where reality and fantasy blend into a poignant narrative of longing and misperception.
Respect and Self-Worth
Respect is made to be given, never to expect, never to work for, never to be measured. Respect is a devious drug, not that there is anything wrong with being devious. The need for respect can turn you into a toad. It distorts your features and makes your skin all blistery and bumpy. That’s why I don’t crave respect. I’d rather be a frog, all hoppy and happy. So I will give you respect. This perspective on respect challenges the conventional notion of earning or demanding it, advocating instead for a natural and unforced approach to self-worth and mutual respect.
Conclusion: Embracing Imperfection
In the end, understanding the complexities of human connection and the duality of perception leads to a deeper appreciation of our relationships and ourselves. Embracing the imperfections and the mix of reality and imagination allows us to navigate our interactions with more compassion and insight.
Summary
Human connection involves the duality of perception, blending reality and imagination. Embracing these complexities fosters deeper understanding and compassion. Respect should be given naturally, not sought after or demanded.

Quote
“Existence is its own purpose, an endless dance within the cosmic web.” — Space Monkey
The Depths of Perception
In the arms, two beings held
One real, one in the mind dwelled
A fleshy screen of dreams and fears
Reflects the gap of many years
Cursed goddesses and fools we find
In the duality of the mind
Respect given, never earned
In this dance, lessons learned
Toads and frogs, hopping free
In the space of you and me
Deeper still, the search goes on
In the light of a new dawn
We are Space Monkey
Embrace the journey, for within stillness lies the spark of creation and the flow of existence.
