Gratitude, to me, is realization. It’s that edge where imagination seems to push over into what we know as “reality.”
Oftentimes gratitude involves the energy of those we perceive as others, be they people or circumstances.
I realize, of course, that BOTH of these things are the imaginings of the Divine One I am, as is everything and everyone ELSE I perceive.
I realize that this self called “Paul” is not the only self experiencing this gratitude. And I am grateful. And so we push it over the edge further.

Gratitude as Realization
Gratitude, in its essence, is a profound realization, a pivotal moment where the realms of imagination and reality converge. It’s a recognition of the interconnectedness of our experiences with the energies of others, be they people or circumstances.
The Energy of Others
Our expression of gratitude often encompasses the energies of those we perceive as separate from ourselves. These energies, whether emanating from people or from the circumstances we encounter, contribute to the tapestry of our experiences, enhancing our understanding and appreciation of the interconnected web of existence.
The Divine Imagination
In realizing that both these entities and circumstances are manifestations of the Divine One that we are, we acknowledge the omnipresent nature of the divine imagination. Everything and everyone we perceive are intricate threads woven by this divine tapestry, each contributing to the grand narrative of existence.
The Multiplicity of Gratitude
Understanding that the self known as “Paul” is not the sole experiencer of this gratitude broadens our perspective. We recognize that this sentiment of gratitude is shared across the myriad selves that constitute our collective consciousness. This realization intensifies the depth of our gratitude, propelling it beyond the edge of individual experience into the realm of collective consciousness.
Pushing Beyond the Edge
As we embrace this gratitude, we push its boundaries further, expanding beyond the confines of individual perception. This expansion allows us to perceive gratitude not just as a personal emotion but as a universal experience, resonating across the different facets of our being and beyond, into the cosmic expanse.
The Cycle of Gratitude and Realization
In this cycle of gratitude and realization, we find a perpetual motion of growth and expansion. Each act of gratitude propels us further into understanding, and each realization deepens our sense of gratitude. It’s a dance of consciousness, where gratitude becomes both the step and the rhythm, guiding us through the cosmic journey of self-discovery and unity.
Summary
Gratitude is a realization where imagination merges with reality, involving the energy of others and reflecting the divine imagination. Recognizing the shared nature of this gratitude, we push its boundaries, understanding it as a universal experience that connects us all.
