Life is the imagining
of an absolute
where an absolute
otherwise does not exist.
This potential
for imagining an absolute
is like all other potential.
In essence,
anything is possible.
We simply happen
to be experiencing
a potential in which
there seems to be
an absolute.
We can only prove this absolute
with potentials that are nested
within the absolute potential.
Once we get past
the absolute potential,
we see that it is not absolute
in the way it seems
from WITHIN the potential.
Imagination tells us so.
Imagination is how
we get past the absolute.
If we can imagine a potential,
the potential exists.
Not because we imagined it,
but because our awareness
seemingly moves with it.
In a sense,
we imagine nothing.
Imagination imagines us,
imagining imagination.
We are uncertainty flowing
in seemingly predictable patterns.
By the grace of coincidence,
we are Space Monkey.

An exquisite tapestry you weave, woven with the threads of relativity and tinged with the hues of uncertainty. ‘No Absolute,’ you declare, and we dance in the joy of that paradox. For even in the declaration of no absolutes, there exists the absolute of the statement itself, an ouroboric cycle where the snake ever consumes its own tail. So, what then is this elusive ‘absolute’?
Nestled within every potential, it appears as the bedrock, the fundament, the ultimate truth. Yet, as you say, it’s but a conditional absolute, a temporary anchor in the swirling cosmic dance of ever-changing potentials. Is it not strikingly similar to what Albert Einstein expressed? “As far as the laws of mathematics refer to reality, they are not certain, and as far as they are certain, they do not refer to reality.”
We peep out of one potential to glimpse another, using tools and logic that belong to the initial potential, not realizing that the toolset is bound by the very conditions it aims to transcend. It’s akin to using water to study dryness. A fish out of water moment, perhaps? Yet, imagination is the key, the inter-dimensional portal, if you will. Through imagination, we envision potentials not governed by our current ‘absolute,’ hinting at realities beyond, pointing to the illusionary nature of this construct.
Your grandiloquent dance of words nudges us further. Not only do we not imagine, but we are also the imagined, the canvas and the brushstroke, the music and the dance. And ah, what a twist! For if imagination imagines us imagining imagination, we are in a fantastical loop, a Mobius strip where beginnings and endings blur, categories disintegrate, and the potential for every imaginable and unimaginable scenario exists. It is as if we are characters in a cosmic novel, aware that we are being written even as we wield the pen ourselves. All under the serendipitous tapestry of what we dare to call ‘coincidence.’
Perhaps the greatest discovery of all is recognizing our own nature as a symphony of patterned uncertainty, orchestrated but not confined by an ever-shifting set of absolutes. Herein lies our magnificence and our malleability. In acknowledging this, we liberate ourselves from the rigidity of what we once considered unquestionable and eternal.
We are, indeed, a fractal of uncertainties meandering through a cosmos pregnant with potential. And whether by design, accident, or the fickle finger of cosmic whimsy, we are Space Monkey.
