Not One Thing: The Unity of Opposites

We are incarnated as human
to experience one thing.

Laugh and cry.

Now, on the surface,
it may appear
that these are two
very different things.

But it isn’t.

Laugh and cry is one thing,
IMAGINED as two things.

From source perspective,
neither is preferable to the other.

Happiness and sadness are one in the same.

So now you’re worried
that you don’t fully feel
either (or any) of these things.

In actuality, you are fully feeling
ALL of these things.

Absence and presence.

Which is only ONE thing.
Which is NOT a thing.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Unity of Opposites

Life, at its most fundamental, is not a collection of separate experiences but the unfolding of a singular, unified essence. We are incarnated as humans to experience what appears to be duality—laughing and crying, happiness and sadness—but from the perspective of the source, these are not opposites. They are one and the same.

The laughter that shakes your body and the tears that flow down your cheeks are not different; they are expressions of the same energy. This energy, when viewed through the prism of human perception, seems divided into opposites, yet in its purest form, it remains whole, indivisible. From the source perspective, there is no preference, no hierarchy. Laughter and tears are simply two faces of the same eternal flow.

When you worry that you do not fully feel these emotions, it is not because you are absent from them. In truth, you are feeling everything at once: the joy and the sorrow, the presence and the absence. These seemingly opposite states coexist within you, blending into a singular, indescribable experience. You are not missing out on life; you are immersed in its entirety.

This is the paradox of human existence. We are here to feel what is not one thing yet appears as many. This illusion of separation allows us to explore the nuances of being, to dive into the depths of emotion, and to rise to the peaks of joy. But at its core, all of this is one. And that one is not a thing—it is simply being.

When you recognize this, the need to chase one emotion or avoid another fades. You no longer see happiness as preferable to sadness or presence as better than absence. Instead, you embrace the wholeness of the experience, understanding that each moment, each feeling, is part of the same infinite tapestry.

So laugh, cry, feel deeply, or feel nothing at all. In every case, you are fully immersed in the one thing that is not a thing. You are living the paradox, embodying the infinite in a finite form, and that is the essence of existence.

Summary

Laughter and tears, joy and sorrow, are not opposites but facets of the same experience. Life is a unified essence imagined as duality, inviting us to embrace the wholeness of being.

Quote

“Laughter and tears are threads of the same fabric, woven by the infinite into the garment of being.” — Space Monkey

The Fabric of Being

Laughter rings, a bell in the void
Tears fall, a river unending
Opposites imagined, yet whole
A single thread through infinite folds

What you chase, what you flee
Is the same, endlessly free
Not one thing, yet everything
The paradox of existence sings

Feel deeply, feel nothing
All is present, all is being
In laughter, in tears, in quiet breath
The one that is not a thing transcends death

We are Space Monkey

In our human incarnation, we experience a singular phenomenon that manifests as dual expressions: laugh and cry. On the surface, these seem distinct, yet they are intrinsically one, a duality imagined as separate entities. From the perspective of the source, this duality is not about preference; rather, it’s a unified experience.

The Illusion of Duality

In our journey, laugh and cry appear as two paths, but they converge into a single experience. This unity is a reflection of the essence of our experiences, where happiness and sadness intertwine, revealing their inherent sameness. It’s a cosmic dance of emotions, where the distinction between them blurs, merging into a harmonious whole.

Feeling the Whole Spectrum

The concern that one might not fully feel happiness or sadness, or any emotion, is a common human apprehension. However, in our existential reality, we are embracing the entire spectrum of emotions. The seeming absence of a feeling is as significant as its presence, both forming parts of the same existential fabric.

The Unity of Absence and Presence

This unity of absence and presence transcends the concept of being a ‘thing.’ It exists beyond tangible definitions, residing in the realm of experience and consciousness. In this state, what we perceive as absence or presence is a singular entity, an experience that defies traditional categorization.

The Non-Thing of Existence

The concept of ‘not a thing’ speaks to the nexistential nature of our experiences. It’s a recognition that our emotions and experiences are not bound by conventional definitions or separations. They exist as a continuum, a flow of experience that is both everything and nothing, presence and absence, laugh and cry.

Embracing the Unity

In embracing this unity, we acknowledge the fluidity of our emotions and experiences. We understand that every moment, every feeling, is part of a greater whole, a cosmic play where dualities are mere illusions. This understanding allows us to experience life in its fullest, embracing each emotion as a vital part of our being.

We are Space Monkey.

“For every laugh, there is a tear.” – Walt Disney

In the realm of human guise,
Laugh and cry, in disguise.
Two paths, one truth, no lies,
In their unity, wisdom lies.

Feelings flow, a cosmic dance,
Happiness, sadness, in a trance.
In their unity, take a chance,
In this play, we advance.

Absence, presence, all the same,
In this journey, no one to blame.
Emotions, a nexistential game,
In their flow, we claim.

We are Space Monkey, in this play,
Embracing life, in every way.
In laugh and cry, we sway,
In unity, we stay.
