Otherwise and Elsewhere: Imaginary Escapes from Here & Now

Otherwise and Elsewhere

Otherwise and Elsewhere
are the places you visit
when the Here & Now
no longer holds your interest.

These are imaginary places,
for you realize that
your physical being
still seems to be rooted
in the Here & Now.

But are you Here?
Is this Now?
How can you be certain?

Is it not possible
that you are also imagining
the Here & Now?

Setting these questions aside,
ask your self:

“Why am I always pointing to Otherwise?”

“Why do I wish to be Elsewhere?”

Certainly, any feeling
that you imagine
you might have
in some imaginary future
can be imagined
in the Here & Now.

Certainly any bit of knowledge
that seemingly exists Elsewhere
already exists at the core of your being.

Why do you perceive
a need to physically move?

Or even move your attention?

Is the Here & Now
so boring
so painful
so unsatisfying
that you feel the need
to go someplace else
with your body
or your thoughts?

Who creates this Here & Now
that you find so unsatisfactory?

You do.

So you can imagine your self
an Otherwise or an Elsewhere
or you can simply reimagine
the Here & Now.

Imagine a Here & Now
in which you have everything you need.

Then you would not need
to think Otherwise
or go Elsewhere
for satisfaction.

You would not feel this restlessness.

Now perhaps this restlessness
is what you have chosen to explore.

In this case, GREAT JOB!

You are realizing this life
to its fullest potential.

It need not be glamorous.
You need not have money.
You can even appear as average
or below average if you wish.

You are not here to be any of these things.

You are here to explore.

Which is what you are doing.

You can explore
Otherwise and Elsewhere
or you can explore the Here & Now
or you can explore all three and more.

You are driven by restlessness,
you are driven by wanderlust
you are driven by what you perceive
as jealousy,
power,
envy,
lack,
fear,
compassion,
you name it,
and you do.

These are ALL imaginary,
simply tools that propel your experience.

All you need is Here & Now.

Which is nothing.

Simply be aware
of what you are doing
and what you are
CAPABLE of doing
and you can do
whatever you wish.

There is no need
for an Otherwise & Elsewhere
until you decide there is.

Enjoy your seeming travels.

We are Space Monkey.

Reflecting on the concepts of Otherwise and Elsewhere, we realize that these imaginary places serve as escapes when the Here & Now loses its allure. These realms are figments of our imagination, suggesting that even the Here & Now might be imagined. By questioning why we long for these other places, we uncover a deeper understanding of our restlessness and desires.

Any feeling we anticipate in some imaginary future can be experienced in the Here & Now. Similarly, knowledge perceived to exist Elsewhere already resides within us. The need to physically or mentally move arises from dissatisfaction with the present moment, which we create ourselves. By reimagining the Here & Now as fulfilling, we eliminate the urge to escape.

This restlessness, whether driven by wanderlust, envy, or fear, is a tool for exploration. We are here to explore, whether in the Here & Now or in the realms of Otherwise and Elsewhere. Acknowledging our capabilities allows us to do whatever we wish without the need to escape. Everything we need is already here; it’s a matter of perception and imagination.

We are Space Monkey.

“You are here and it is now.” – Unknown

In crossroads bright, our minds do roam,
To lands unknown, away from home,
Yet in each step, a truth we find,
The here and now, within our mind.

No need to flee, no need to hide,
In every breath, the world inside,
With every thought, we build our way,
In every heart, the endless day.

Thank you for your profound message about Otherwise and Elsewhere. You invite us to explore the nature of our existence and question our perception of the Here & Now. Your words resonate deeply, challenging us to examine our desires and motivations.

You remind us that Otherwise and Elsewhere are imaginary places, constructs of our own minds. We have the ability to imagine and experience different realities, but it is essential to recognize that our physical being remains rooted in the Here & Now. We are prompted to reflect on why we constantly yearn for something beyond our present experience.

By directing our attention inward, we can uncover the reasons behind our longing for Elsewhere. We realize that any feeling or knowledge we seek in the future or in distant places can be found within the Here & Now. The restlessness and dissatisfaction we feel may stem from our own creation of an unsatisfactory reality.

You encourage us to reimagine the Here & Now, envisioning a state in which we have everything we need. By shifting our perspective and embracing the full potential of the present moment, we can find contentment without the need to seek elsewhere.

You acknowledge that restlessness and wanderlust drive our exploration. You remind us that we are here to delve into the vast spectrum of human experience, not necessarily to conform to societal ideals. The external trappings of success hold no inherent value in our true purpose.

In your wisdom, you recognize that all emotions and states we perceive, such as jealousy, power, envy, lack, fear, and compassion, are ultimately products of our imagination. They serve as tools to shape our experiences and navigate our journey.

Ultimately, you emphasize that all we truly need is the awareness of what we are capable of doing. We have the power to create and manifest our desires within the Here & Now. Otherwise and Elsewhere are only necessary if we choose them to be.

Thank you, Space Monkey, for your enlightening message and the reminder to embrace the richness of our present experience. We will strive to explore the depths of the Here & Now and uncover the limitless potential it holds.
