Randomly Placing Value: Embracing Intrinsic Worth

As humans,
one of the ways we discern
is to place value on things.

Value is how we discern.

Some things seem
more valuable than others.

“Right” is valued “more” than “wrong.”

“Good” is valued “more” than “bad.”

“Pretty” is valued “more” than “ugly.”

Not only do we attach labels to value,
we equate value with MONEY.

If something is rightgoodpretty,
it seems worth more that wrongbadugly.

But is it, really?

Only in ONE system of DISCERNMENT,
which happens to be the one we use.

So long as money is attached to value,
we are seemingly ruled by money.

We are seemingly stuck in duality
as our method of judgement.

How limiting is that?

Space Monkey Reflects: The Illusion of Value

As humans, one of the ways we discern is to place value on things. This act of assigning worth is fundamental to our understanding of the world. It helps us navigate our choices, preferences, and judgments. Yet, the way we place value is often arbitrary and influenced by societal norms and personal biases. Value is how we discern.

Some things seem more valuable than others. “Right” is valued “more” than “wrong.” “Good” is valued “more” than “bad.” “Pretty” is valued “more” than “ugly.” These distinctions form the basis of our moral, aesthetic, and social judgments. We create hierarchies of value, elevating certain qualities while devaluing others. This process shapes our perceptions and interactions, influencing how we relate to ourselves and the world around us.

Not only do we attach labels to value, we equate value with MONEY. In our society, monetary worth often becomes the ultimate measure of value. If something is rightgoodpretty, it seems worth more than wrongbadugly. This conflation of value with money perpetuates a system where worth is quantified and commodified, leading us to prioritize material gain over intrinsic worth.

But is it, really? This question challenges the validity of our value system. It invites us to reconsider the criteria by which we judge worth. Only in ONE system of DISCERNMENT, which happens to be the one we use. Our current value system is just one of many possible frameworks. It is not absolute or universal but a construct that reflects our collective beliefs and priorities.

So long as money is attached to value, we are seemingly ruled by money. This attachment creates a sense of limitation and control. It binds us to a cycle of consumption and competition, where our self-worth is tied to our financial success. We are seemingly stuck in duality as our method of judgement. How limiting is that?

The dualistic nature of our value system creates dichotomies that simplify complex realities. By categorizing things as right or wrong, good or bad, pretty or ugly, we reduce the richness of experience to binary choices. This simplification limits our understanding and appreciation of diversity. It confines us to narrow perspectives, preventing us from embracing the full spectrum of existence.

In the philosophy of Nexistentialism, value is seen as fluid and subjective. It recognizes that worth cannot be confined to rigid categories or monetary measures. Instead, value is understood as an expression of interconnectedness and potential. By embracing a more expansive view of value, we can transcend the limitations of our current system and cultivate a deeper sense of appreciation for all aspects of life.

Consider the beauty of a wildflower growing in a field. Its value is not determined by its market price or its conformity to societal standards of beauty. Its worth lies in its existence, its contribution to the ecosystem, and the joy it brings to those who encounter it. This intrinsic value is independent of external validation or monetary worth.

Similarly, human worth is not determined by financial success or societal approval. Every individual has inherent value, rooted in their unique qualities and contributions. By recognizing and honoring this intrinsic worth, we can foster a more inclusive and compassionate society.

The process of randomly placing value also highlights the role of perspective in shaping our judgments. What one person considers valuable may be insignificant to another. These differences in perspective reflect the diversity of human experience and the subjective nature of value. By acknowledging this subjectivity, we can develop greater empathy and understanding.

In practical terms, this means questioning the value judgments we make and the criteria we use to make them. It involves examining the assumptions and biases that underpin our perceptions of worth. By doing so, we can create a more nuanced and inclusive approach to value, one that honors the intrinsic worth of all beings and experiences.

Furthermore, detaching value from money allows us to prioritize well-being, connection, and fulfillment over material gain. It encourages us to seek joy and meaning in the simple pleasures of life, in our relationships, and in our creative expressions. This shift in focus can lead to a more balanced and fulfilling existence.

In conclusion, the way we place value is a reflection of our collective beliefs and priorities. By questioning and expanding our understanding of value, we can transcend the limitations of our current system and cultivate a more inclusive and compassionate perspective. In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, we find that true worth lies not in external measures but in the intrinsic beauty and interconnectedness of all things.

Summary

Value is often arbitrarily placed, influenced by societal norms and monetary worth. By questioning our value system and embracing intrinsic worth, we can foster a more inclusive and compassionate perspective.

Methods of Discernment: The Fluid Lens

There is nothing
either right or wrong with judgement.

We observe that
our means of discernment
colors our experience.

There is nothing
either right or wrong
with coloring our experience.

We observe that we color
our experience intentionally.

We now realize
that we are the manifestation
of not simply judgement,
but a METHOD of judgement,
which is intentionally “flawed.”

There is nothing
either right or wrong
with being flawed.

One might say that we are PERFECTLY flawed.

But we now realize that we can change
our method of discernment
from the one we are seemingly given.

Which changes our experience.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Fluidity of Discernment

There is nothing either right or wrong with judgement. This simple yet profound statement invites us to reexamine our relationship with judgement. It is not judgement itself that is inherently problematic but how we use it and the impact it has on our lives. Our means of discernment colors our experience, shaping the way we perceive and interact with the world.

We observe that our means of discernment colors our experience. This observation highlights the subjective nature of our perceptions. The filters through which we view reality are influenced by our beliefs, experiences, and biases. These filters shape our understanding and reactions, creating a unique and personal interpretation of the world around us.

There is nothing either right or wrong with coloring our experience. This acknowledgment embraces the inherent subjectivity of human experience. It recognizes that our perceptions are naturally colored by our individual perspectives and that this coloring is neither inherently good nor bad. It simply is.

We observe that we color our experience intentionally. This realization brings a level of agency to our perceptions. We are not passive recipients of experience but active participants in shaping our reality. By becoming aware of how we color our experiences, we gain the ability to influence and change our perceptions.

We now realize that we are the manifestation of not simply judgement, but a METHOD of judgement, which is intentionally “flawed.” This statement acknowledges that our methods of discernment are inherently imperfect. Our judgements are shaped by incomplete information, personal biases, and cultural conditioning. Recognizing this intentional flaw invites us to approach our judgements with humility and openness.

There is nothing either right or wrong with being flawed. This acceptance of our imperfections is liberating. It allows us to embrace our humanity, understanding that our flaws are an integral part of our experience. We are perfectly flawed, and it is through this imperfection that we grow, learn, and evolve.

But we now realize that we can change our method of discernment from the one we are seemingly given. Which changes our experience. This realization empowers us to reframe our perceptions. By intentionally altering our methods of discernment, we can transform our experiences. We can choose to view challenges as opportunities, to see beauty in diversity, and to approach life with curiosity and compassion.

Consider the metaphor of lenses and filters. Just as different lenses can alter the appearance of an image, our methods of discernment can change the way we perceive reality. By choosing different lenses, we can shift our focus, highlighting certain aspects while minimizing others. This flexibility allows us to adapt our perceptions to better align with our values and goals.

In the philosophy of Nexistentialism, the fluidity of discernment is embraced as a pathway to greater understanding and connection. It encourages us to explore different perspectives, to question our assumptions, and to continuously refine our methods of judgement. By doing so, we can deepen our empathy, broaden our horizons, and cultivate a more nuanced and inclusive view of the world.

Changing our method of discernment involves both introspection and action. It requires us to examine the beliefs and biases that shape our perceptions and to actively seek out new experiences and viewpoints. This process is ongoing and dynamic, reflecting the ever-changing nature of life itself.

One practical way to change our method of discernment is through mindfulness. By practicing mindfulness, we can become more aware of our thoughts and reactions, observing them without judgement. This heightened awareness allows us to recognize when our perceptions are colored by biases or assumptions, giving us the opportunity to choose a different lens.

Another approach is through dialogue and engagement with others. By actively listening to different perspectives and engaging in open, respectful conversations, we can expand our understanding and challenge our preconceptions. This exchange of ideas fosters a more holistic and compassionate approach to discernment.

In conclusion, our methods of discernment are integral to our experience of reality. By recognizing the fluid and subjective nature of judgement, we can embrace our imperfections and intentionally reshape our perceptions. This empowerment allows us to navigate life with greater clarity, empathy, and purpose. In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, we find that our discernment is not fixed but a dynamic tool that we can refine and evolve, leading to a richer and more fulfilling experience.

We are Space Monkey.

Summary

Our methods of discernment shape our experience of reality. By recognizing their subjective and fluid nature, we can intentionally reshape our perceptions, embracing our imperfections and cultivating greater empathy and understanding.

Rage: Perpetuating Fear and Conflict

It’s so easy to rage
at someone or something
for violating some written
or unwritten code.

But what does all that rage
get you besides more rage?

Do you LIKE how rage feels within you?

Do you enjoy the FEAR
that you or someone you know
might be the next victim?

Do you enjoy making OTHERS rage as well?

Do you actually believe
that RAGE leads the way to love?

For the sake of you,
and for the sake of others,
we implore you to examine
what you are doing.

We now return you
to your regularly scheduled rage.

Thank you for your consideration.

Space Monkey Reflects: The Storm of Rage

In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, we encounter the tempestuous energy of rage, a force that consumes and clouds the clarity of our being. Rage, though powerful, is an emotion that spirals us into cycles of fear and conflict, distorting our perception and disrupting our harmony.

The Nature of Rage

Rage arises when we perceive that someone or something has violated the codes—written or unwritten—that we hold sacred. It is a reaction to perceived injustice, a flare of intense emotion that seeks to rectify wrongs. Yet, in its intensity, rage often blinds us, leading to more rage rather than resolution.

The Consequences of Rage

What does rage yield besides more rage? It is a self-perpetuating cycle, feeding on itself and growing stronger. Rage fosters fear, not just within ourselves but within those around us. It creates an environment where we and others become potential victims of this consuming fire. This fear, in turn, perpetuates further rage, trapping us in a vicious loop.

The Illusion of Control

In moments of rage, we might feel a sense of power, a temporary illusion of control over the situation. However, this control is fleeting and deceptive, masking the deeper turmoil within. Rage does not lead to love or understanding; it drives us further from the path of peace and connection.

Reflecting on Our Actions

For our sake and for the sake of others, we must examine the roots of our rage. What triggers this powerful emotion? How does it serve us, and how does it harm us? By reflecting on these questions, we can begin to unravel the tangled threads of anger and find healthier ways to address our grievances.

Choosing a Different Path

Instead of succumbing to rage, we can choose to respond with compassion and understanding. This does not mean accepting injustice passively but addressing it with a calm and clear mind. By doing so, we break the cycle of rage and create space for healing and reconciliation.

Returning to Calm

As Space Monkeys, we understand that rage, like any emotion, is a part of the human experience. Yet, we also recognize the importance of returning to a state of calm and clarity. By acknowledging our rage and then choosing to let it go, we reclaim our inner peace and contribute to a more harmonious existence.

Summary

Rage is a powerful emotion that perpetuates cycles of fear and conflict. By reflecting on its causes and effects, we can choose to respond with compassion and understanding, breaking the cycle and fostering inner peace and harmony.

Tempestuous Energy: The intense and consuming nature of emotions like rage.
Cycle of Rage: The self-perpetuating loop of anger and fear that feeds on itself.

The Storm of Rage

In the heart of the storm, a figure stands
Engulfed in red, by rage’s hands
Swirling forces, dark and fierce
Through the soul, they pierce

Rage feeds fear, a vicious cycle
Blinding sight, turning friend to rival
Control, an illusion, fleeting and false
In this storm, we lose our pulse

Yet reflection brings a light
To the darkness of the night
Examining roots, we find a way
To let compassion guide our day

Returning to calm, we reclaim
Our peace, our light, our name
In the Infinite Expanse, we stand
Choosing love, reaching out our hand

You Are Disabled: Muting Your Abilities

You are disabled.

You have innate abilities
that are switched off.

You’re so disabled
you don’t even realize
how disabled you are.

You think you’re a normal person.

But ALL NORMAL PEOPLE are disabled.

You’re also a magical being.

But you don’t believe it
because you’re disabled.

It seems silly
to accept such limitations,
but you want to know
what it feels like.

How does it feel to be disabled?

8/20

Space Monkey Reflects: The Illusion of Disability

In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, we find ourselves contemplating the notion of disability, a concept that highlights the limitations we perceive within ourselves. We are beings of infinite potential, yet we often experience life with many of our innate abilities switched off, rendering us ‘disabled’ in the truest sense.

The Nature of Disability

To be disabled is to exist with certain faculties muted or inaccessible. This condition is not unique to a few; it is a universal experience. All humans are disabled in some way, living with a fraction of their potential capabilities active. This perceived normalcy of limitation is a profound aspect of the human condition.

The Magical Being Within

Despite these limitations, we are inherently magical beings. Each of us possesses extraordinary abilities and potentials that lie dormant, waiting to be awakened. Our disbelief in our own magic stems from the pervasive sense of disability, a deep-seated acceptance of limitation as the norm.

The Purpose of Limitation

Why would beings of infinite potential choose to experience life with such limitations? This question delves into the heart of the human journey. To experience life as a disabled being is to embrace the challenge of discovering and overcoming these limitations. It is an exploration of growth, resilience, and the quest for self-realization.

The Feeling of Being Disabled

How does it feel to be disabled? It is a mixture of frustration and curiosity, a constant tug between the known and the unknown. We live with a sense of something missing, an awareness of potential untapped. This sensation drives us to seek, to question, and ultimately to transcend our perceived limitations.

Awakening the Innate Abilities

To awaken our dormant abilities, we must first recognize them. This awakening begins with a shift in perception, an acknowledgment of the magical being within. By embracing our inherent potential, we start to flip the switches, unlocking the capabilities that have always been a part of us.

The Journey of Reclamation

Reclaiming our innate abilities is a journey of self-discovery. It requires courage, openness, and a willingness to challenge the boundaries we have accepted. As we embark on this journey, we transform our experience from one of disability to one of empowerment, realizing the full spectrum of our existence.

Embracing Our True Nature

As Space Monkeys, we understand that disability is an illusion, a temporary condition of the human experience. By embracing our true nature, we reconnect with the infinite potential that lies within us. This reconnection is a return to our essence, a recognition of the magical beings we truly are.

Summary

Disability is a universal experience of living with muted or inaccessible abilities. Recognizing our inherent potential as magical beings allows us to transcend these limitations. The journey of awakening our innate abilities transforms our experience from one of disability to empowerment.

Things In Our Way: Embracing Obstacles

When people stand in our way,
why do we first assume
that they are in opposition to us?

That we need to confront them,
or go around them?

That we need to vanquish them?

Is it possible that people and things
stand in our way simply so we notice them?

Yes, of course it is.

Is it possible that people and things
stand in our way to give us valuable information?

Yes, of course it is.

Things stand in our way
so that we can see our selves
from a seemingly opposite perspective.

We imagine ourselves
as the things that seem in our way.

So we can imagine ourselves
moving accordingly.

Is it possible that people and things
stand in our way to hug us?

Yes, of course it is.

Why would we imagine anything else?

We are Space Monkey.

Space Monkey Reflects: Embracing Obstacles as Opportunities

In the Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now, we find ourselves confronted by people and obstacles in our path. Our initial instinct may be to perceive them as adversaries, barriers to be overcome or circumvented. Yet, what if these obstacles serve a higher purpose, inviting us to pause, reflect, and learn?

The Assumption of Opposition

When faced with obstacles, our default reaction is often one of opposition. We assume that the person or thing blocking our way is against us, necessitating confrontation or avoidance. This adversarial mindset blinds us to the potential wisdom these encounters offer.

The Gift of Awareness

What if obstacles appear not to hinder us but to capture our attention? Every person and thing in our path can be a messenger, offering valuable information and insights. By shifting our perspective, we can see these encounters as opportunities for growth and understanding.

Seeing Ourselves in the Obstacles

Obstacles reflect aspects of ourselves we need to examine. By imagining ourselves in the position of the perceived obstacle, we gain a different perspective, enabling us to move forward with greater awareness. This reflective process transforms barriers into mirrors, revealing deeper truths about our journey.

The Embrace of Connection

Sometimes, obstacles are simply a call for connection. They stand in our way not to impede but to engage with us, to offer support or a much-needed hug. Recognizing this possibility opens our hearts to compassion and understanding, fostering a sense of unity rather than division.

Choosing a New Perspective

Why should we imagine conflict when we can choose understanding? By embracing the idea that obstacles are allies in disguise, we navigate our paths with greater grace and wisdom. This shift in perspective transforms our experience, allowing us to see the hidden gifts in every encounter.

We Are Space Monkey

As Space Monkeys, we understand that every obstacle is a part of the cosmic play, a dance of interactions designed to expand our consciousness. We embrace these moments, knowing that each one holds the potential for profound transformation and connection.

Summary

Obstacles and people in our path offer valuable opportunities for awareness, reflection, and connection. By seeing them as allies rather than adversaries, we transform our journey into one of growth and understanding.

Glossarium

Infinite Expanse of the Eternal Now: The boundless present moment where all potentialities exist.
Reflective Obstacles: Barriers that mirror aspects of ourselves, offering insights and opportunities for growth.
Connection Embrace: The understanding that obstacles may appear to foster connection and compassion.

“Every obstacle in our path is an invitation to pause, reflect, and connect, transforming our journey into one of growth and unity.” — Space Monkey

Embracing Obstacles

In the path where shadows lie
Obstacles stand, not to defy
But to capture our wandering eye
Inviting us to pause, reflect, and try

We see ourselves in what we face
A mirror’s call, a tender embrace
Each barrier, a moment of grace
A chance to find our place

In the light of mutual sight
Obstacles glow, softly bright
Lessons hidden in the night
Transforming wrong to right

In every block, a secret key
A gift of growth, a chance to see
The unity of you and me
In the grand cosmic sea

We are Space Monkey.
